David Manning, we normally shoot our trusted A7IIIs, but have been getting gigs where we require higher FPS for certain scenes. When the light is sufficient enough we can utilize the 240FPS option on the gopros as long as we learn how to color match it with our graded sLog-2 footage. So your channel was perfect! THANK YOU!

Just got a GoPro Hero 8. Found your channel and checking out several of your videos. Working on making my first videos while here at home. Setting it up to capture a time lapse of us working from home with three kids and a cat. I'm using a trial of Final Cut Pro for the time lapse and the test looks good so far, but it seems like my battery ran down fast. I need to look at settings. I figured you could let it run for a whole day taking one frame of RAW every 15 second. Hope you are doing well with all the changes that are happening. That's awesome to hear Freddie! Yeah, the battery life on the GoPro has always been a sticking point for a lot of people. I'm not sure what it's rated to in Time-lapse mode, but in video mode, it's only about an hour. I can't imagine that in Time-lapse mode it would be a whole lot longer because even though you're only shooting one frame every 15 seconds, the camera is still on and in record mode. You talking about cutting and editing footage or color grading footage? Just did a color grade video recently! th-cam.com/video/dlgeg4bkGCw/w-d-xo.html
I can’t believe the negative comments. I guess some people just do that. Always love your videos. I loved the intro. I’ve been a subscriber for months and the intro was like catching up with a friend I haven’t seen in a few days. The quality of the video images are crazy good. Would love to see a Premiere Pro editing video. BTW... I used to do all 7 until I started watching your videos.
Thanks Cliff! And I never worry about negative comments. I'm just putting info out there and people can take it or leave it. Negative comments are usually coming from something they're going through and it doesn't have anything to do with me. I'm here to lift people up and I love that you're on board with that! Premiere Pro video coming soon👍
David Manning I’m so happy to hear the negative stuff doesn’t bother you. Many of the creators I have been watched start to get discouraged over time by the negativity. I get it, but also it makes me sad. One common theme seems to be discouragement from relatively few negative comments when the vast majority are positive and affirming. Keep on keeping on! Cheering for you.
Not yet, but I'm for sure going to check it out. I've heard their desktop app mentioned a few times now. Here's how I edit my footage th-cam.com/video/dlgeg4bkGCw/w-d-xo.html
I've tried filming with your recommended GoPro settings while cycling using either a handlebar mount or chest mount . I found I wasn't able to bring the detailed back, mainly the texture and sharpness of the video. I also found that fixed shutter speed really caused issues when light conditions varried. I ended up turning the sharpness back to high, but still running the following settings ... Partial cloudy day cycling thru tree covered sections , res 2.7k 30fps , shutter auto. iso 100-800 WB4000K high bit rate enabled using go pro colour superwide stability ON ... In post I made re adjustments to the WB to find what was natural , then I'll prob add some vibrance and possibly a slight over saturation to embellish the beauty greenery here on Vancouver island .... I WISH I could figure out why the fixed shutter rate just looked so washed out ??
I would LOVE a video on how you edit your GoPro footage, currently I'm using a Hero 7 Black with premiere pro to shoot the majority of our family holidays so editing tips are always welcome! Big love from the UK. (Sidenote, I need me one of those tees!)
Also, how do you feel about LumaFusion on iPad Pro, is it garbage and a waste of time or can someone get decent results for beginning in video creation? Let me know, thanks.
Great stuff David - Thanks for sharing. Can you point me to the other video you mentioned where you run through your favourite Hero 8 settings for shooting Video in general ?
Hi David! I've learnt so much from your GoPro videos over the past 6 months. Tomorrow ill be uploading my first proper, edited travel film using your tips. So even though I have improved a lot, I would still love to see your work method! Please!
Hi David just bought a Go Pro 8, and subsequently found your channel. Great video good pace and very informative and excellent humour. Thank you for your tips, they have been implemented. One other question on battery life, is it worth dimming the screen brightness?
Thanks Tony! I think it's up to you whether that's a useful feature. I personally use the screen a lot to frame my shot and when I'm not, I don't go through the hassle of manually dimming the screen. I think if you're going to helmet mount or chest mount, something where you're not looking at the screen, setting the screen to dim after a couple minutes is a great battery saver!
Love your your video. ? Why don't I ever see any info on the Hero 7 white. Can you let me know the best setting's for TH-cam content. I know it has it's purks. But can you help me out? With the best setting's.
Thanks Bruno, I'm super stoked on how it came out! The coolest thing too is that now that I've broken the seal on merch, when we think of ideas in the future, it will be way easier to make them a reality!
Thank you very much for the video, very informative even though if you ask me I know everything lol. I am a professional eater that shot with a cell phone for 2 years or more then my GF that watches Vlogs non stop had pushed me to use my Go Pro for everything and not just for my food challenges where I was stationary. Really startin' to make time to learn the features of the Go Pro because I like quality for my subscribers. I really enjoy the Rode Go Mic with lav since my GF doesn't talk loud on our food reviews and mukbangs. Can't wait til the Display finally arrives so I know what I am shootin' at when I am in a pinch at food contests and such. I do have questions about my Go Pro overheatin' at times. Not every time I use it but like 5-10% of the time if I shoot for more then 20 minutes at 4k/ 30FPS. I have the GoPro Max 360 but my editin' software Filmora Wondershare 9 doesn't allow me to edit that and when I try to look at tutorials I just can't figure out how to really use it when pickin' points to be viewed then meshin' them together. I tried some of the platforms like GoPro VR Player and such but can't figure it out so I just do not use the Max at all. I know I have many different topics but if any of the subscribers/viewers on here as well as you can help lead me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you again for your video, every tip helps (That's what she said)
David, what settings would you suggest to tape indoor volleyball with GP 7 Blk no color editing? I currently (had been) shooting 1080/60fps in auto however while not terrible by any means it just wasn’t a clean look. Thank you enjoy your videos.
If you're indoors in a gym, there's a few things you can do. One is switch to manual white balance. By setting your white balance manually, you'll keep from having the color shift during shots. The second is to set you ISO to MAX of 800 and if you're at 60fps, your shutter to 120th. If the image is too dark, switch to 30fps and 1/60th shutter. Hope that helps!
Yes Please David!!!!! kindly do a full comprehensive tutorial in Premier Pro and the Hero 8 - because it might be my new job, with the way things are going. Cheers pete. Like the new shirts.
hello sir eagerly looking forward for the video on how to edit the gopro footage. my goporo footage sucks too and it'd be lovely if you share a premier pro tutorial with us.
Just got my first gopro. Started using it the day I got it and I also had to drive so I didn't have a way to check the settings. Started using it, looked at the footage on the gopro and it looked good. Loaded the footage onto my phone and it was playing pretty fast. Im assuming it was the FPS?? I had it at its highest that it goes (I think) and also 1080.
I'm not good at explaining, I mean my footage looked like it was in fast forward, the voice and talking was there, it all matched up, sisnt have the fast chipmunk voice but the videos just play faster than it should.
Going along with your "don't spill the coffee" idea for stable video, I think if you placed a penny on top and tried to keep it from falling off might help. T-shirt idea... "Don't Drop The Penny" 😁
I know that the video is on Hero 8 but I have a question to ask about the Hero 7 Black. My Problem is the audio sync is off on the camera playback when transferred to computer. It seems to be alright when playback in camera itself.

@@DavidManningvlog Thank you David; look forward to testing your settings....when the gyms re-open! Thanks again, and keep everyone smiling.
Yes Please David!!!!! kindly do a full comprehensive tutorial in Premier Pro and the Hero 8 - because it might be my new job, with the way things are going. Cheers pete. Like the new shirts.
Thanks bro
Heck yeah man!
Get this man to 100k
You're the real hero Kyle! 👊
What about the lens? It can’t be replaced once cracked. Is that a problem to consider when buying a new GoPro?
100% something to think about! I can't imagine that when the 9 comes out, they don't revert back to a replaceable lens
David Manning I’m planning on buying a new GoPro, do you think I should buy the hero 7 or hero 8 considering the lens?
Coffee cup filled to the brim is a great way to explain how carefully you need to maneuver a GoPro!
Yeah, nothing is worse than someone operating a camera like a flashlight.....🤣🤣🤣
Thanks you helped me
hello sir eagerly looking forward for the video on how to edit the gopro footage. my goporo footage sucks too and it'd be lovely if you share a premier pro tutorial with us.
Awesome David, thank you. Ive had a GoPro 4 and just waiting delivery of a Hero 8. Much appreciated!!
Try hooking it up to the app and see if there’s a firmware update. That should solve it!
Would you Still recommend using 24 frames for like helmet mount mountainbike content (or something similar like motorbike)
If you want a more natural look (cinematic) to your footage, then go for 24fps, but if you want more of that action sport vibe, go 30fps 👍
Yes please create an editing video. Thanks!
Anyone else feel like he was about to start singing in the beginning? He was in the perfect key for Talk To Me, by the Peaches
Hahahaa! You never know when I might!
Would like to know what were you using to shoot this VLog

This is hella helpful! thank you so much!!
