I second the Spectra system but know many satified Rainman owners.

Is there a chance you got fishing line raped around the prop shaft creating small a leak in the lower foot. This is actually a common thing and in most cases if you get it out soon enuf you are all good.
Hmm that’s an interesting idea -
We did get a line wrapped around once but it was very minor and we got it off right away. But this is def something to check !

Do we ever have bad luck or what ?
There is always going to be a difference between a water maker that costs $4-$5K and one that costs $1-$2K.
As for the Rustin stainless steel, they maybe be Chinese Steel instead of Stainless Steel. Try to pick it up with a magnet. If magnet sticks to it, it is NOT stainless steel BECAUSE Stainless Steel is not magnetic.
Ours has def cost more than $1-2k at this point ugh
