You gotta do something about the wind noise in your videos. I follow a few sailing channels and they don’t have anywhere near as much wind noise as your channel. I’ve been watching you two since the beginning and I’ve enjoyed watching you learn and grow and struggle but persevere. It’s really cool to watch and I hope your views and subs continues to grow. But again, you gotta solve that wind noise problem. Love that you’re proud Canadians!
Hey Logan thank you for the feedback! I know it’s terrible :( most TH-camrs we know don’t use their iPhones for filming so that’s probably why their audio is better. I’ve been looking for solutions online but the options aren’t great. May have to do a DIY project on this ! Haha Are you Canadian too?? Thank you so much for stickin with us the whole time that’s absolutely amazing - never thought we’d have 100 subscribers let alone 5000+ but with hard work it pays off!
!!! In this case it was because the cruiser didn’t know he had to have separate west tech accounts for different islands , which I suspect is easy to do !We were just happy to be able to help out + we got to take advantage of a rental car which was amazing ! Win win
@@sailingjoco We put our boat on the hard in Southern Grenada for hurricane season. Like you we went to Sint Marteen after Nevis, and St Barth before heading south
It's mostly sunny Antigua but unlucky for you guys when it rains it pours and you got some of that...Roti king is so good 🤤🤤😋 haven't had some in five year's. When you guys are done with the repairs you should check out St. Barths (st Barthomley) its expensive over there but those mega yacht that come through there are insane. And on a good day you could literally count all the grains of sand at the bottom of the ocean in the bay. So magical.
Yes the last few days were great !! Definitely want to go back and enjoy more beaches , we only got to a couple on that stop! Omg YESSSSSSS roti king ! It was only locals in there and everyone was so friendly and the food top tier ! For sure we’d like to go to st Barths , hoping to slowly head south (with maybe a northern stop first we’ll see!!!) next season and see all the islands we missed on the way down
@@sailingjoco i’m glad you replied to my comment now I can apologize to you for spelling your name wrong after I submitted the comment I went to your TH-cam page and see that your name is correctly spelled as CHRISTIN
Haha we tried but it doesn’t show up on camera !! On my camera anyway. Maybe if we had higher quality it would show up. But our eyes caught it ! Miss ya
@@sailingjoco we're still stuck in the rat race of working, house payments, etc. I'll just live vicariously through people like y'all for now and hopefully be able to retire early enough to do some of it. My goal is to have a boat I can sail to Bahamas some day, right now we're lake sailors with a Catalina 27. Hopefully heading to the lake this weekend for an overnight stay and maybe a race.
Crazy right ! We were blown away by them!! “Big City” marina style lolol I’d love to go on one and get a tour ! Maybe next time we go to Antigua we could just ask someone. Never hurts to ask😂😂
Perhaps you should have used AI to do 5 minutes of research…Fort Herrington is one of Antigua’s lesser-known colonial fortifications, built during the British occupation of the island. Antigua, strategically located in the Caribbean, was a key British naval base, particularly during the 18th and 19th centuries. The island was home to several forts, all designed to protect British interests, especially against rival European powers like the French and Spanish, as well as pirates. Here’s what we know about Fort Herrington: 1. Strategic Purpose: Like many forts in Antigua, Fort Herrington was likely constructed to serve as part of a broader defensive network, aimed at protecting British military and economic interests. Antigua’s sugar industry made it a valuable colony, and forts were essential in defending against invasions or attacks on the island. 2. Construction: While specific details about Fort Herrington’s construction are scarce, many forts on the island were built from local materials, such as limestone and coral. These forts were typically located on high ground, providing a vantage point for monitoring approaching ships and defending the coastline. 3. Role in British Defense: Fort Herrington would have contributed to Antigua’s defense system, which included more prominent forts like Fort James and Shirley Heights. Although it may not have been as heavily armed or strategically significant as these larger fortifications, it was still part of the broader colonial military infrastructure. 4. Decline: As with many other forts in Antigua, Fort Herrington likely fell into disuse after the Napoleonic Wars. By the 19th century, the reduced threat of European conflict in the Caribbean meant many of these forts were no longer maintained and eventually abandoned. 5. Current Condition: Today, Fort Herrington, like many other colonial-era fortifications on Antigua, is in ruins. Visitors can still explore the remnants, offering a glimpse into the island’s colonial history and the military architecture of the period. While Fort Herrington is not as well-known as some of the other forts on the island, its existence highlights the importance Antigua played in the defense of the British Caribbean colonies during the height of European colonial rivalry.
