I have a lot of respect for Kodys father. A lot of people don't empathize with the victims of their chikdrens crimes and only think of themselves. He did the right thing by helping Micaelas family get the truth from his son. You can love your child AND do the right thing as a fellow human being.
I came to the comments to say the same thing. As a true crime enthusiast, I don't think I've ever seen this. It's almost always the opposite of this, with parents claiming their child is innocent or even assisting them with the crime. His parents are truly amazing people worthy of much respect.
Listening to his Dad just ripped my heart out. It seems like he did his best but with some people something is just broken. No amount of talking, listening or attention is enough. Nothing is their fault and if its obvious that it is, all the attention deserves to be on them because of how THEY feel. If he hadn't fostered a relationship with his son, he wouldn't have confessed so quick.
my heart always breaks for the parents of the kids who do such heinous things when you can tell the parents don’t deny their child’s guilt, encourage their child’s confession & help the investigation when they can. i can’t imagine being in his situation. obviously my heart breaks even more for that poor girl and her loved ones but there’s also room to feel for the parents who do the right thing when their child is likely guilty or obviously guilty. it would be absolutely sickening to have such an evil child who could do something so disturbing and heinous then continues to feel bad for himself even during the confession. hope cody’s having a horrible time in prison

@@joehogan3691 Can you blame him? It's ingrained into us as humans. It must of been heartbreaking for his father to go through and I respect him for not giving in and acceping what his son did.
Kody's reaction to that was so typical for that type of person. It enraged him to not have the pity focus on him that he turned aggressive, demanding and making threats to regain control of the narrative. I can only imagine how exhausted his father must've felt by that time. So sick of a son who thinks only of himself and his feelings. I couldn't handle having a kid like that. He'd be in therapy so fast long before it ever got to this point.
He's showing what a normal thought process is, something his son is devoid of. He has to protect the rest of the family, he's probably figured out at this point he never really knew his son, and to let justice take it's course.

Yea real character and a wonderful man. He raised a good kid. I applaud Kody dad for all the accountability he gave Kody growing up. What a dad and great man
Before judging that man too hard maybe you should think a bit about the society you all live in. You love the roll of alpha, masculine men and feminine, petite women, like Barbie and Ken. The males are supposed to be tough, aggressive and go-getters, to take what they want and support their wives and children. Women are supposed to give their men and children what they need, support them, adore them and take care of every single need they have, clean the house, nurture the children and pamper their hard working husbands. So, caring, nurturing men are looked upon as gay or weak and tough females are looked upon as dominant or lesbians. This is the reality your children grows up in and what do you think happens when teenage boys don't get what they want? They take it or throw a fit. Kody was violent and unbalanced. He was also violent and involved with a toxic girl who's whole existence was to be a girlfriend of Kody, an accesoir. Not a self reliant and secure young woman. This is probably more what made Kody go along with the heinous crime than anything else. Kody's dad spent all his day at work, seeing his son maybe in the evening and weekends. How much of all this do you actually think he knew about? You are the only country I know about that have all this "teenage drama" where young people think you can swipe the problems away by killing a friend. It doesn't happen anywhere else! Maybe it is time for you all to vote progressive, start paying taxes used to create a society where both parents work a normal 6-8 hour day, with paid and mandatory vacation and stuff the rest of us already have. Then maybe you will have parents available to the kids while they grow up so that you can constantly give them love and affection along with discipline and care. @@eh5872

@@eh5872 It’s very likely that Kody has some neurological dysfunction that makes him an aggressive sociopath, and that problem can’t be fixed by a parent’s advice or discipline. If you ever have the misfortune to encounter a person like this, and try to “fix” them, you will experience the truth of the futility of that effort. Blaming the father for his son’s behavior is not valid. There’s no suggestion that the father abused him, or otherwise pushed him into this criminality or hostility. Consider this: Are your parents responsible for all of your behavior? Are you nothing more than an extension of your parents? Do you have your own mind, making your own decisions, acting as an independent person? Do you blame your parents for all of your own mistakes, or worse, blame them for your crimes? Other parents in this situation have attempted to hide their children’s crimes, and protect sociopaths from the law, while subjecting society to future murders. Kody’s father did the opposite, to hold Kody accountable, and to keep him from killing anyone else. So yes, he deserves credit, for seeing the situation for the catastrophe is was, and urging Kody to make the morally correct decision.

Her sentence is appalling. For me, Toni was the mastermind/jealous girlfriend who convinced her violent boyfriend that they needed to get rid of her. Kody was so in love with Toni that even when confessing to the crime kept Toni out of it.
I totally agree, she probably would have gotten it if it wasn't for the plea deal that she earned herself. hopefully they deny her parole again and she actually gets to serve a life sentence
I cant believe Toni got the lesser sentence. Not only does it seem very obvious that SHE was the one who wanted Michaela dead, she seems WAY more cold about the whole thing. When Kody recounted what happened he cried and sniffled and gagged his way through the story. When Toni recounted what happened.. she sounded chipper and emotionless and nonchalant as if she were telling a fictional story. Tbh even a fictional story usually gets more emotion out of a person. Like she does not care at all. She should have gotten life without parole, as well.
I'm sure that Cody did simply do what his girlfriend wanted him to do. Toni was stupid to speak with the lawyer when she could have kept quiet and gotten away.
She literally has the eyes of a devil. I didn't need to hear her voice, but that also showed how wicked and demonic she was. She is a true evil, and I can't understand how she gets to be free in a few years.
Toni’s cool and collected confession sounded like she was reading off a grocery list rather than committing a brutally violent murder. She’s dead behind the eyes - no way should that sociopath ever be released. 😳
Half way through when Toni first comes on. I came to the comments and you confirmed for me early, her vibe is grotesque. The facial expressions, everything. I bet she thinks she’s doing a good job of concealing herself there. But no, a heart of black right there. I got to “helping him move the heavy metals” why didn’t he ask you then?! 🤮

Kodi’s dad’s plea to his son broke my heart. Too often you see the parents enable and even encourage vile behavior. He knows what his son has done is wrong and it breaks his heart. He seems like a good - albeit - broken man. Just so sad all around 😢
If Toni ever gets out on parole it'll be awful. She so casually explained the murder and didn't seem to care she took someones life. Even confessing that they had a chance to save her but didn't. Jesus christ.
I love how her sentence was life with no possibility of parole for 18 years but she's already having parole hearings at 10 years. It's a joke how we treat murderers with kid gloves while drug dealers get 100 year + sentences. Murder should be LIFE no possibility of parole EVER. If you took somebody's life, your life should be over, forever. No second chances just as there weren't any for the victim.
@@mat5473 It depends on whether it was in self defence or not but I mostly agree with you. Especially if you show no remorse or if you had a plan for it before hand.
Also I don't think people realize that Toni must have been feeling powerful and excited over the fact she convinced the guy who she loves to murder her biggest rival against that love (Mickie) with his own hands. Like Kodi basically chose between the two girls, and their (Kodi and Toni) celebration was murdering her (Mickie) together. @@BOBBY-n7m

RIP Michaela I've had enough youtube for today... goodnight my friends
I pray Toni never is let out of prison. The idea she was given such a short sentence with parole that soon is outrageous. I think the lies are still deep in this story. So many unanswered questions.
I don’t believe for one second that poor girl wanted to talk about getting back together, it’s weird how an alleged conversation concerning turning someone down turns into them being murdered. It makes no sense that they created this weird narrative surrounding their motive for killing her. Why did Kody initiate contact repeatedly to someone he doesn’t want to be with ? Why wait around (stalking ) her just to tell her you don’t feel the same? I’m lost to their entire rationale behind their actions.
I bet what happened was that Kody was trying to cheat on Toni with Micaela and it didn't go as he had planned, so he convinced Toni that Micaela was trying to get him back. Toni seems a bit simple and easy to manipulate.
It's disgusting how even after admitting to the murder they still lie to paint her in a bad light as trying to break up their relationship, as if she wanted anything to do with those maniacs. What I don't understand is how they managed to manipulate her into getting in the truck in the first place.
@@ChuckPalomoand why was she already sitting in the backseat while they picked up his girlfriend? Like, if she truly wanted to get back with him, I highly doubt she would have been ok with picking up his girlfriend to “talk things out”… There wouldn’t have been anything the 2 girls would have to talk about regarding Kody. To me, he definitely made her think they were all just going to hang out, which is why she was already in the backseat, and explains why she even agreed to be in the car with both of them to begin with.
I really believe that Toni planned this whole things from the start and she was so incredibly insecure about her relationship with kody / had an idea that he wanted to be with her that she wanted him to prove in some sick twisted way that he only wanted her and not Michaela….and I think that Michaela was led under some false narrative that she was gonna hang out with the both of them
That’s what I was thinking but maybe it’s due to some sort of privacy thing because it’s footage from school? It could require a higher burden for police to get this footage. Just a guess though
@neyyattinkaragopan3042 I really don't believe that man. Kody changed his story so much and tried to guilt trip his dad, dude is a liar who wants to make himself look good. I'm almost positive there's more to situation, especially with Toni. It's really just the killers word against literally everyone else's opinion of how Mickey felt about Kody... not a good look
@neyyattinkaragopan3042 I think you missed about half of the video bud. Like everyone around them saying she didn't want to talk to Kody and felt uncomfortable about him contacting her.
Let me just say, in no universe did they drive Micaela out to the gravel pit to "talk". They drove there with the intention of murdering her, or at minimum, causing serious bodily injury to her. In my personal opinion, I think Toni was the mastermind. I think Toni and Kody got into some sort of fight and Toni said she wouldn't marry him because he still loved Micaela. He then probably said something along the lines of "I don't even like her anymore! What do I need to do to prove to you I don't have feelings for her" to which Toni would have planted the idea of murdering her so that she could never come between them. Just my opinion. I just feel like Toni comes off colder than Kody, and I think Kody initially leaving Toni out of the story is very telling.
I feel like this analysis missed an opportunity to look more into the sick mind of Toni! A true psycopath. The hairs on my arms went up at her nonchalant description of a savage murder.
I bet it had nothing to do with decency. It must be the smart thing to do in her situation. Also, its sick that she will be a free woman in a few years. A person who tortures and cuts a girls throat ever slowly will walk free. Incredible.
I sincerely hope the parole board isn’t stupid enough to ever let Toni out. Anyone who hears the details of this case understands that she played as big of a roll in Micaela’s death as Kody. In fact, she may have instigated the entire murder out of jealousy. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kody’s animosity towards Micaela that her friends described was caused by Toni’s insecurity and jealousy.
I agree. And doesn't their betrayal of each other, completely expose the true character of these scoundrels. They talk about "love". They don't know anything about the word!
Intresting he is wearing a Marine Corps poolie workout shirt. So he had plans on going into the military probably. It is a good thing he didn't. i honestly think Toni should've gotten the same sentence as Kody. We dont know that. For him to have those violent tendencies etc. There is no way that his ex best friends family didnt talk to his parents about him. Same as how the school likely informed his parents about his abuse towards Toni and how the school kept them separated as best they could. I have a feeling there's a lot happening behind closed doors. Some people are great at putting on a facade. It's also possible he was just a bad apple, but I doubt it. My dad beat the shit out of me until I could hold my own and posed a real threat to him. And he was very good at putting on a facade around other people. Just because she is eligible for parole, doesn't mean she will get out of prison. So far she has been denied parole twice. She isn't up again until 2029
@ssssssssszzzz I'd say theres a pretty good possibility that this dad is exactly what he seems. In toxic or traumatic households it can be very hard for an abusive father especially to hold their temper in high stress situations. They don't typically think about if they're being watched and sometimes don't care. Cody showed no signs of fear of his father either of him just being there or of his reaction to telling him what he'd done. The dad broke down in tears right along with his son and encouraged his son to fess up and give the family and police all the answers they needed and basically be a man do the right thing. Also made sure to say he wasn't going to abandon him and he loved him. These are not typical of the parents that we usually hear about breeding monsters and murderers. Jmo

That girl should have to spend AT LEAST the 18 years sentenced to her before being eligible for parole. It's ridiculous that they would even allow her a parole hearing before then!
She should've got an equal sentence to Kodi's, at least. She was the premeditator -- should've got the longer sentence if anything. (But, of course, she's a girl -- easier to blame the boy.)
@@772amanda237 I agree! She was testing Kody to prove his love for her because Toni's so insecure she wanted Micaela out of the picture....Permanently. Toni is both evil and insecure which is a terrible combo!
you are complaining about that? In Finland some 4 adult druggies extorted money from a teenager girl and kidnapped her. They beat and humiliated her for whole day in darkest ways possible. Then they put tape around her head and shoved her under a couch in a locker. She was suffocated to death slowly. Most of the adults didnt get any sentences. 1 man who strangled her before she was put inside the couch got 2 year jail sentence. There was a femaly 40 year old who also abused the teenager victim for hour but received 0 jail time. She only got small bill for battery and walked out free
and the womans reasoning to put the tape around the teenager victims head was ''i didnt know she could suffocate if i tape her mouth and nose'' and she still walks free :DDDDD
Toni's voice tone while confessing shows she does not realize how awful was what they did. She is precise and absolutely emotionless, which is a red flag she is a psychopath.

The father’s voice in their first conversation, at the station... Man, he is in an awful spot: loves his son, knows he’s broken, having to set the boundary that says “no escape from your horrifying crime”, possibly even somewhat scared of him, and just begging him to do the right thing. That’s heartbreaking. That’s real character, too. Huge respect to the dad for pushing him to face the consequences.
@@eh5872
@@eh5872 I know modern youth in their quest to blame everyone else on earth and avoid all accountability put everything on the parents, but you can be a good parent and raise an idiot. I am such an example, and I know many others. Unfortunately, your peers matter and you are forced to spend more time with them, no matter how devoted the parent.

It's so frustrating that the lie they chose and stuck to was that she, who was terrified of him, wanted to get back together with him out of nowhere despite years of stalking, past abuse, and her current relationship. One last attempt to disrespect her.
Toni should have absolutely got life without parole. The chilling calmness of her retelling the timeline of the murder, admitting that they kicked and punched her as she was trying to get up, the fact that she could tell micaela was incoherent as they beat her, she did everything that Kody did. Her sentence is appalling. For me, Toni was the mastermind/jealous girlfriend who convinced her violent boyfriend that they needed to get rid of her. Kody was so in love with Toni that even when confessing to the crime kept Toni out of it.
I wouldn’t call it love, more like obsession.
Female privilege. It's part of western culture. Women and girls are so used to it that they don't realise that it is happening all day every day.
I totally agree, she probably would have gotten it if it wasn't for the plea deal that she earned herself. hopefully they deny her parole again and she actually gets to serve a life sentence
Hey.... she told him to be strong, what more do you want!
It's simply female privilege - society is ripe with it!
Man, hats off to his dad telling him to do the right thing for Micela . RIP
@TheRoyalWe07I think you missed the point there bud
Women getting reduced sentences for the crimes is unfortunately nothing new.
@TheRoyalWe07 when the point completly flies over you're tiny head with a tiny brain.
Man, that poor girl. She was trying to hard to gain her awareness and ground and she still could’ve been saved 🤦🏻♀️
Toni’s cool and collected confession sounded like she was reading off a grocery list rather than committing a brutally violent murder. She’s dead behind the eyes - no way should that sociopath ever be released. 😳
I agree, she looked evil with no emotion. Her voice never changed while she was stating her part in it.
Completely emotionless, didn't even feign emotion at what would be the suitable parts. An inexperienced sociopath is a pure one!

Half way through when Toni first comes on. I came to the comments and you confirmed for me early, her vibe is grotesque. The facial expressions, everything. If Toni ever gets out on parole it'll be awful.
She so casually explained the murder and didn't seem to care she took someones life.
Even confessing that they had a chance to save her but didn't.
Jesus christ.
Toni was the mastermind behind it all, she wanted Micaela dead and gleefully did it without regret.
I pray Toni never is let out of prison. The idea she was given such a short sentence with parole that soon is outrageous. I think the lies are still deep in this story. So many unanswered questions.
Isn't her sentence still life though?
She'll be out in 10 years -- women only serve 65% of a man's sentence length, on average.
She actually terrifies me. Seems like the type who would absolutely do it again if the opportunity presented itself
@@neilsun2521 But it literally said, "Life with chance of parole." That's still a life sentence even if parole is granted.
@@neilsun2521it said her parole was denied. She gets another hearing in May 2024.
Yeah, that part of the story doesn't make to me either, there was definitely a different reason she went with them.
I really believe that Toni planned this whole things from the start and she was so incredibly insecure about her relationship with kody / had an idea that he wanted to be with her that she wanted him to prove in some sick twisted way that he only wanted her and not Michaela….and I think that Michaela was led under some false narrative that she was gonna hang out with the both of them
The ending of these videos, where you sit in silence a few seconds after it’s over, feel like whiplash
Absurd that they didn't look at the school's security footage until after her body was found. You'd think that would be the first thing they do.
That’s what I was thinking but maybe it’s due to some sort of privacy thing because it’s footage from school? It could require a higher burden for police to get this footage. Just a guess though
@gerardogomez1849 yeah, a lot of states have protection over school surveillance so the police would've needed a very solid warrant to get it
You’d think you would understand these videos are for entertainment, and edited together to keep suspense building.
It's too logical. Therefore cops look at it after they literally checked everything else. Always late, always a step behind.
Look at the detectives on here that gathered all their law degrees from watching Law n Order 😂

@neyyattinkaragopan3042 The blatant fucking misogyny and victim blaming in this comment disgusts me.
My thoughts exactly. That she didn't get life is amazing.
I can't even stand her face
One hundred percent. Toni was the killer, Kody's dumbass was the weapon

Yes. Toni is a really sick person. She is as guilty as Kody.
