It’s easy to see how a horrible detective can screw up an entire investigation. The female investigator has to be one of the worst I’ve seen in a long time! Sliding the phone across the table, yawning and making weird faces like a teen girl would! She is horrible at her job.

they're letting her work on it, on a big case so yeah it's kinda dumb. She's not as bad as the female cop I witnessed being told multiple times to pull her taser. She was on nonlethal, but decided to just walk around like she was casually waiting for an ubereats. She never even pulled taser, forcing her male partner to use lethal force on a woman running at him with a nine inch kitchen knife. I think it was donutoperators video, but female cops in the field are much more dangerous in my opinion. That police department is now being sued for wrongful death, and because of that female cop failing to do her job, I believe they have a decent case. This situation will end in this person going the mental hospital route for the rest of her life, but even police are short staffed sometimes.

From watching this videos I now understand that whatever you do in an interrogation room, it will all be interpreted as being either dishonest, nervous or suspiciously defensive. If I am ever in a situation like this, the best way to behave seems to be lying prone on my stomach facing away from the detective

Actually, that's considered to be the most suspicious thing to do. Bobby Duvall was convicted of murder, in 1938, after doing just that. He spent the next 35 years in prison before it was later determined that it was impossible for him to have been complicit in any way in the death of Marianne Taylor

It isn't that black and white you don't need to worry about that. The things you mentioned have to be considered against a baseline behavior. In an interrogation like this, police always start out observing how you act before they ask you questions. They need to see how a suspect/interviewee acts "normally". If they observe that you don't make eye contact and speak very deliberately, they will factor that in to their analysis of your nonverbal communication. If using a lot of qualifiers is something that a person does in low stress situations or questions; that person using a lot of qualifiers in a high stress situation or questions is less likely to be a sign of deception. The same goes for lack of eye contact or facial expressions. Or even if someone displays "nervous" behavior or self-soothing behaviors. All these methods of detecting deception must be used in the right context to be useful.
