This song is so creepy, I picture some town being over-run with zombies (blue collared tweakers) and Les Claypool hopelessly sitting in a wooden shack, writing out this song before his certain demise. I feel like it would make a great music video. unfortunately I'm about 20 years too late.
I remember reading somewhere that Larry's guitar sound at the start of the song is meant to sound like the siren that signals a break or finishing time in factories and shit ..
Les Claypool is a model for all bass players everywhere. He's the pinnacle of bass all rolled up into one dude. I know I'm pretty good, but ALL are humbled in this man's presence. I can only strive to one day be...
When is the next freakin woodstock!! I'm 14 and i was never old enough to go to a woodstock. But they look freakin insane if good music is actually gunna play there!
My cousins were there and I couldn't go at the time because I was only 15. My mother wouldn't let me but I know it rocked and this was just one awesome group that happened to be there ~
If I had to pick a favorite Primus tune; like someone held a gun to my head and said "pick one" (cause that's the only anyone could!) I would have to say this tune. Driving rift, sick in the pit when this one is played.
"I had to get outta there. They told me I was too good, but I knew what they were thinking man. I was that one weirdo in the whole room. James told me to do my own thing." -- Les after the Metallica audition.
Well, it's still true, Les is WAY too good for Metallica. No disrespect to Metallica, or Cliff, Jason, or Robert. But, Les is in his own league, and him doing his own thing with his music was absolutely the right call. Still, I'd love to hear what kinda freaky ass music they would have made together in an alternate reality. 🤣
@caspilmary because it isnt an annual thing. im sure there will be another one, just in the future sometime. it takes a lot of scheduling and planning and they usually do them at special occasions or if there just hasnt beenn one in a long time.
Look people, you can say Primus sucks, but lets put it this way, im glad they existed. The music is completely different which is good. Who else sounds like them ? And yet still professional. Not to mention they are actually talented musicians. I like the fact that people are actually feeling this despite being completely off the wall.
After much review and careful study (actually it was just by chance) we were able to discover the origins of the high stepping Les puts on display here. Grandpa Jones lives on! R.I.P.
I dont think Ler played better in Possessed, he is so much more focuesed and original then any possessed song ever was. Although when he first joined Primus, a lot of his style in the band came from the blueprints that Todd Huth laid out, but he definately formed his own version of that style after Frizzlefry.
haha i was just thinkin, thoes security people must have been so scared, like the magnitude of the people that are in the crowed Vs. the security thats in the front row? that would scare me.
thank you, now I miss my mom, some of kids dont get the luxery of seeing theyre parents everyday, or at all for that matter, although I do accept the fact that, taht WAS a good one! jsut thought Id say the former before I said the latter
Look and see what the pop charts for 1994 were like. 1992 had Kriss Kross. 1995ish had Shanina Twain (I think. If not then it was a close year.) And at about 1999 we had the Backstreet Boys. Meanwhile in 1994, There was Primus and the Flat Duo Jets and Morphine and other bands.
I was there. It was super cool. I miss the 90s...

Gotta love the way Claypool struts in the choruses :L
This thingamadoohickey Ler does at 1:50 just blows me away every time I hear this version…It is like sonic fire or cartoon Martians communicating...
3 Guys playing!!
so talented, sounds so full... long live primus. May they get together often and put make great music in between claypool solo💜
I remember reading somewhere that Larry's guitar sound at the start of the song is meant to sound like the siren that signals a break or finishing time in factories and shit ..
Les makes me proud to be an American!
Les Claypool is a model for all bass players everywhere. He's the pinnacle of bass all rolled up into one dude. I know I'm pretty good, but ALL are humbled in this man's presence. I can only strive to one day be...
Claypool is human but his hands are not.
YES
This is what they opened with in Charlottesville last week. Nothing like this soft ballad to kick off a show!!!
When is the next freakin woodstock!! I'm 14 and i was never old enough to go to a woodstock. But they look freakin insane if good music is actually gunna play there!
If I was there.. I mean it's impossible NOT to jump around like a maniac.

They can try to take it out, but itll never die. Me and a buddy got it branded in like 92.
Wish I was there awesome Woodstock.
We're PRIMUS, and yes, we do suck.
As they barbeque this song... Excellent.
I was at the original Woodstock site in Bethel in 94 while this was going on.Much more laid back happier people there :)
lmao, "sorry i had to do it"
les is pure awesomeness.
This is amazing!… I heard them last week in Chile and was unbelievable!!!
How are there not many bands with a bass as a lead? How?
Last Primus show I went to, last year, we had to sit. Do you realize how much that SUCKED?! This show looks badass!
Good music is still around my friend, you just have to find it.

Wish I was there more than anything in the world.
Primus and Les concerts are so much fun!!!!

Best tweekers bass solo ever...
Love the nod to Hendrix.
This is fucking awesome. Thanks for the post.
I love Les Claypool's strut.
I live in indiana and I'm probably goin, I bet I'd go to colorado if that was as close as they came.
Great song. Awesome band. Looks like a lot of fun when the pit starts going off.
sometimes the most eccentric human beings make the greatest artists.....LES CLAYPOOL is one of them
@CRAPPYSHOES that sir, is the very video I speak of! I also love this clip where he struts across the entire stage in full jam mode!
"as we barbecue this song" LMAO. And this is one of their best songs
awesome! Thanks for posting it!
My mom was around 13 or so when she first heard this it performed at Woodstock. It was her first Primus song.Primus has been in the family since then

True 11 years ago when this comment was made, and still true in 2024. Primus is still alive and kickin. Long live Primus and real music!
Les is the man
I agree perfect song for the stomp!!!
My favorite primus song
I never thought I'd get taught how to walk until now
les is a bass god
If I had to pick a favorite Primus tune; like someone held a gun to my head and said "pick one" (cause that's the only anyone could!) I would have to say this tune. Driving rift, sick in the pit when this one is played.
nothing compares to the might of a Primus pit
If you dont love his smile you probably dont have a soul.

His Walk Is Priceless.!!
@caspilmary because it isnt an annual thing. im sure there will be another one, just in the future sometime. it takes a lot of scheduling and planning and they usually do them at special occasions or if there just hasnt beenn one in a long time.
@frizzlefry420oh the other tweeker song is "On the tweek again" off of Tales from the Punchbowl.
can't wait for their new album!
I remember having this clip on a vhs tape from Kerrang!
"Sorry, had to do it."
That part got me laughing.
Was that the Humpty Dance bassline before the National Anthem? hahaha... Les Claypool, true patriot.
Hi Yaaa
@Trocals I think he says "Sorry, had to do it" referring to doing the Hendrix-stunt but with a bass.
Look people, you can say Primus sucks, but lets put it this way, im glad they existed.
The music is completely different which is good.
Who else sounds like them ? And yet still professional. Not to mention they are actually talented musicians. I like the fact that people are actually feeling this despite being completely off the wall.
@frizzlefry420oh
There is also "On the Tweek Again" on Tales From The Punchbowl....
After much review and careful study (actually it was just by chance) we were able to discover the origins of the high stepping Les puts on display here. Grandpa Jones lives on! R.I.P.
Yes, I agree with you. However, I believe that James was saying that because I believe Les said they had been friends or acquaintances in high school.
Im seein them tonight for the second time!!
LEGENDARY! WISH I WAS THERE, SO SO SO S OSOS OSOSOSO BAD
!

They killed it, Les is the man
allways 4 get this one n where i gut it hiding

Saw Larry when he was in Possessed. I think he found his niche w/ Primus.
I love that fucking walk!
I'm so happy I clicked on this
@BoddhasServants It really looks like Herb to me, in the facial area. Pre-blueman days when he still had hair.
Holy crao, just at look at that crowd.
"Sorry had to do it." Don't blame you 1 bit Les lol. Anytime you play woodstock you have to throw in a lil star spangled banner hendrix style.
There's an awesome vid on youtube that has Les saying, "Were Primus.... We Suck. We have no qualms about that." Just badass.
Look and see what the pop charts for 1994 were like.
1992 had Kriss Kross.
1995ish had Shanina Twain (I think. If not then it was a close year.)
And at about 1999 we had the Backstreet Boys.
Meanwhile in 1994, There was Primus and the Flat Duo Jets and Morphine and other bands.
I pull this vid up whenever I'm feeling a bit rowdy. Aside from the fact that PRIMUS Sucks, I'm here to say PRIMUS SUCKS! Best band ever!
2:29 always gets a laugh.
good man for stickin up for your band though!
@Royfokker73 cool, mine would be southbound pachiderm.
I like how there's thousands of crazy people in the crowd and like seven guards. hahaha Even match.
I fucking love this band.
Amen Brother!! Les Claypool is a God among men!! ♥
there was like a delay with the audience's reaction to the national anthem. like a twenty second delay
