Which drugstore makeup products do you love the most? Do you have any that you've been using for many years and stood the test of time?
My fave is the wet n wild foundation I love that they still kept their price to less than $10 a true drugstore gem! Even Tati loves it too so I know how good it is my holy grail when I am broke!
@@MarlenaStell I'm obsessed with Milanis lip oils!!
Maybelline City Bronzer Powder in light rivals my high-end products (undertone and fine powder) and the NYX Wonder Stick in universal light is the perfect neutral undertone for my neutral skin, and it spreads so easily.
The Essence highlighter is amazing, so are the blushes and mascara. I do think you may have linked the wrong one though. You showed the 'The Highlighter' line but the link was for the 'Pure Nude' line. Not being mean just wanted to point it out. We're all human ❤😊😂
@@RaeRae1100 ooh yes!!! Those are good too!! I almost added those in the video
Your approach, demeanor, and candor are so refreshing! It screams trustworthiness making your videos such a welcome perspective. Thank you!
Those Milani blushes are so good. Shows up so well on my deep skin tone.
Since Marlena knows all about makeup development.., we know she’s got all the goods on what products work best!! Thank you for all your knowledge!
I would LOVE a tutorial on this eyeshadow look. Gorgeous!
I love these over 40 videos ❤
I’m 47 and you listed a lot of my holy grail products I love. The L’Oréal serum foundation is my favorite. I find it very similar to Armani Luminous Silk. It’s beautiful on mature skin. I also love NYX can’t stop won’t stop pressed powder. It’s so blurring but not drying or cakey. A good Charlotte Tillbury dupe❤
‘I have a very big head and look how big this blush is!’ 🤣 you’re too much and you are a true beauty in every way. I also picked up the dermablend flawless creator that you were so thoughtful to answer back to me in the comments a few weeks ago Ms back in an unrelated video. I still have to try it but I used to love that brand to cover up my acne scars on my back when I competed in ballroom competitions.
Yes! Let me know how you like it. OK, so it's REALLY pigmented so I use as a concealer. If it's too pigmentation, just mix with another foundation or a little bit of moisturizer
Finally, someone sharing that the Amazon triangle puffs can be put in the washer and dryer! They clean up perfectly and I've seen people saying, "they're cheap, I just toss them."
Really? I’m trying to save the earth so I’m throwing them in the wash with my other dark clothes - they clean up perfectly
Can't get enough of your videos and product reviews! Pure genius! Thanks Marlena, another excellent presentation.
Milani has such great products. So underrated!
Right? I almost added their bronzer too but I had to choose between theirs and Loreal
Yes I love their products too 💯 love you bye ❤
Are they underrated, though? Isn’t it merely that people in the US don’t know about Milani? Loads of people here use Milani😊.
@@Persefone94 I have no idea
@@Persefone94 I know about them because they start out making makeup for black women 💯 but now they make make up for everyone 🥰
Great video, great choices! I used to pay insane amounts of money for makeup (Clé de Eau foundation, Dior, Chanel, Guerlain), but when traveling about a year or two ago, I arrived and realized that my makeup bag was still on my bathroom vanity at home. I went to the drugstore nearby and bought some drugstore makeup - and was blown away at how good most of it was! I now use Revlon Illuminance foundation of L"Oreal Age Perfect foundation, Essence or Milani blushes, L"Oreal eye pencils and mascara and Revlon or L"Oreal lipsticks. I do still have some favorite MAC eyeshadows, and Bobbi Brown shadow sticks, Clinique lipstick, but I am mostly drugstore now, and It's not a cost issue, but a quality issue. I have found that some high end (Looking at you Chanel) are declining in quality, while drugstore has greatly improved in quality.
Love all the colour pop fresh wear for every day
Marlena I truly appreciate your informative tutorials. Thank you for always keeping it real with your inside knowledge of the makeup industry.
CG Lash Blast Volume Mascara. No matter how many mascaras I try I always go back to this one.
Great video , Marlena! I really trust your expertise!💕😊🙋♀️🇨🇦
I own all the products mentioned except the volumous carbon black mascara so I’ll be buying it soon!! Thanks Marlena🩵 Please do more videos like this one!! Please!!🙏🏻
I love drugstore makeup. Thanks for sharing your picks with us. 👍🏼
Nyx butter glosses are so underrated, I've got quite a few and I love them. No one talks about them anymore
I know! They’re still so amazing
The holidays are the best time to score collections of butter glosses too, if you love them!
The --> Loreal Brow Stylist Definer Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil definitively belongs here and the --> Revlon Colorstay lipliners where longevity is concerned although the best texture is from the --> Maybelline Lifter Lip liners. Super creamy and pigmented if they both had a baby it would be perfection. For people not prone to breakouts, the --> Revlon Full cover foundation is amazing, especially if you need overage for an event; super smooth.
I’m so excited you like my Milani eyeliner. I use semi-sweet. Have backups at all times. It does not budge!💄💋
I love the L'Oreal Freshwear powder foundation, a similar product to the bronzer. It covers beautifully! I don't use it as my regular foundation, but the powder foundation goes on fast and easy, just what I need when I'm headed out the door for a quick errand and don't want a bare face.
I have just discovered e.l.f. Lash Xtend Mascara. It lengthens amazingly!
Thanks for these recommendations. I'm sure I'll refer to this video again and again when I need to buy new products.
The elf tubing mascara is actually legit. I’m a mascara snob plus I only use cruelty free products so it’s not easy to find great ones. Def suggest it. Nikki uses it too!
Thanks for doing this. You're just all-around perfect.
I appreciate you so, so much !
I wish drugstore makeup could do a better job of olive undertones. They assume olive is warm green but I’m cool olive and I know I’m not the only one and it’s SO hard to find. Even in higher end. But I understand it would be near impossible to achieve everyone’s undertones. Just about everything else in my makeup drawer is ELF and L’Oréal except my foundation. And my makeup geek palette. I don’t care if it’s 6 years old I will use all of it and never get rid of it 🥹lol
Have you tried NYX serum concealer? I love it and it’s in a little pump tube which I feel like you never see with concealer
I am also cool olive and finally found About Face Foundation in L2 Olive and it’s fantastic! Try it!
Bourjois 123 is foundation who is olivish. good pricepoint (iam in Europe)
I also have a cool olive undertone. I have very fair skin as well. The only brand I've had luck with is Estee Lauder. Drug store brands either make me look pink or orange!! I have to only use super sheer drug store foundation products to make it look okay
Holy, I'm cool olive also. I literally need to mix & customize all my foundations.
Same 😭
YES people are sleeping on Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless!! With all the newer foundations at the drugstore, it’s so easy to overlook such an oldie but a goodie!
Agreed ❤ 🥂❤
Colourpop definitely has top quality for affordable pricing. Also, their eyeshadow formula doesn't crease on my oil slick eyelids😅 (yes, I wear primer, and most eyeshadow formulas still crease a bit, but not Colourpop 😅) . Also agreed milani products. I'm really enjoying their antigravity mascara, and their new primer, in the lilac colored tub. That stuff is Amazing, and I don't really wear primers that often. It smoothes out my skin, and blurs pores, to the point that I could almost go without foundation. Speaking of foundation, yes! Maybelline Matte and Poreless, and also their Dewey version are both really nice looking base products. For me, it looks better the longer I wear it. I never thought I could wear lashes, but those look really easy to use, I may have to try them❤
Love the loreal serum!!!
I’m not sleeping on the Milani Stay Put liner. I saw a creator that used it and it did last. The Essence blush didn’t work great for me at first but, then I realized it was the top layer that acted weird. Thank you, Marlena
I know the ELF Halo Liquid Glow is a favorite of many, but the Catrice Soft Glam Filter is even better. Beautiful product.
The cold stone pallet is the best thing I’ve ever bought
I'm a huge fan of the Elf Soft Glam foundation, the L'Oreal Fresh Wear Foundation, and the Wet n Wild Tinted Hydrator. For concealer, the NYX Bare With Me concealer is just as good as any high end product! I also just discovered my holy grail mascara, the Essence Lash Without Limits in brown!
I find Nyx bare with me doesn't stay put as well when sweating as say Dior Forever concealer, but I like it for winter and fall.
Awesome video Marlena.
Can't wait to purchase many of youe suggested items.
So appreciated❤
Butter glosses really are the best. I also use and love Maybelline matte and poreless. I'm 48 and oily and it's great! Just use a little powder and perfection!❤️
My mind is blown - going to pick up infallible as a bronzer. Also picking up essence now.
Can you show us how you did your eye shadow, LOVE IT!! Very FALL!
I love the Maybelline matte & poreless! Been using it for years and find myself reaching for it over my high end foundations. I also have 3 of the Essence baked blushes they are phenomenal
I love your videos! Thank you for all you do! ❤
I’m a huge fan of the wet n wild tinted hydrator.
Thank you for this video, I'm planning to do my own bridal makeup, and just when I realised I'm probably going to be wildly over the budget, you saved the day!
❤
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nobody ever talks about the Loreal Voluminous mascara and I love it in blue and plum because I have brown eyes, it really helps with my fine lashes!
I love Milani baked blushes, Wet n Wild highlighter, Wunderbrow mascara, Maybelline fit me powder& Flower Beauty one as well, L'Oreal& Revlon super lustrous lipsticks
You’re such a pro !
Some of my favorite drugstore products are: L’Oreal Infallible Foundation, Maybelline Fit Me powder for on the go, Maybelline Baby Lips, Milani baked blushes, wet and wild brow pencil, Elf pore putty liquid primer, NYX Matte Setting Spray, Wet N Wild Highlighter, Elf liquid eyeshadows, Rimmel Bronzer, Maybelline Colorstay Lip Pencils, NYX Suede Lipstick, NYX lipliners and Essence gel eyeliners.
I love my Wet n Wild highlighters.
Love these type of videos!! Thank you!!!
I always immediately click on your videos. Anything L'oreal is phenomenal. Love that brand. And that Maybelline foundation is amazing. I have it and love it. It's a really good one. And I buy my pumps from Amazon. I have it for the Maybelline and the L'oreal one with the dropper. Those 2 are my favorite foundations.
You had made a lot of videos but sincerely definitely this is one of the best if not the best. You even give good advice on what goes well with skin colors perfectly well explained. More videos like this please. Pleased any recommendations on mascara for volume hold the curl and definitely smudge proof please.
I also love the Loreal True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum. The light-medium is the PERFECT color for my skin tone. Lately, I have been loving the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream. It's a light coverage that evens and smooths out my complexion. I also like Makeup Revolution's Eye Bright Concealer. It provides light coverage, and doesn't cake on my 62 year old dry undereyes.
Ooh love the eyeshadow on you
It's hard to beat L'Oreal mascara. I've been using it for years too. Every once in a while I'll buy a higher end one but I always go back to L'oreal. I also love Milani products too. Maybelline build a brow is my favorite brow product.
Yes I have always brought L'Oreal eye products too 💯 their so good ❤️ their better than high-end eye products ❤ I love Milani products too 💯 their so good ❤️ love you bye 💚
Thank you, Marlena! 🥰
I prefer revlon color stay over the fit me foundation. It lasts longer, stays matte longer and it doesn’t look cakey like the fit me one.
Great video-I love good drugstore recommendations! I love the Maybelline Sky High curves mascara in the pink tube that was all over tik tok a few years ago. It is amazing and rivals my Dior Iconic mascara. I also love the L’Oréal Infallible blushes-the pigment is unbelievable! I love their lipsticks, too! So creamy. For bronzer I love the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer-smooth, pigmented and smells like coconut and vanilla. Thank you for sharing your faves with us! ❤
Love the Sky high mascaras. Only issue is that I need to use micellar water to remove them. Face wash or cleansing oil wont remove them.
My fav drugstore brand is Nicka K brand. It’s a Beauty supply brand. I would like you to do a video on it and try out ❤
That loreal powder is chef's kiss.
I freakin wuv u sooo much and have watched you since 20016 You're the best doll. And thank you for all the help with skin care and makeup.
Always!! XOXO
I've been using Voluminous mascara for close to 30 (yes, THIRTY) years. I buy others, including Dior, YSL, Lisa Eldridge, Chanel, Lancome, Maybelline, Essence, Tower, Ilia, Thrive, Covergirl...but always return to Voluminous.
Thabk you for the review!
I Love Ur Vids, TYYYY!!!
Marlena on the Essence baked blush: I don't even know how they're making profit from this?
Essence Insider: They got a cousin 😎😉
love the orange eye look. 🙂
Love budget drugstore makeup videos. ❤😊
The Essence blush is on the Prime sale today and less than $5 ❤
NYX Butter Glosses are absolutely the best glosses on the market.
I LOVE them ❤
Marlena, you are so gorgeous 😍
Time to go shopping!🎉
Great information! Which drugstore foundation that is cruelty-free have you found to be very good?
Thanks I have a lot of these products 😊and ❤ them😊
I have on Loreal color riche 840 right now. Perfect neutral.
I have yet to find success on any makeup for this 64 year old skin. Your eyes are AMAZING!!!! Love your videos! Thanks so much!
What products are you having a hard time finding to work? I can try to help
@@MarlenaStell you’re so sweet. I’ve bought many drugstore products, it would be a long list. I feel like they sit on my skin and line my wrinkles. I watch tons of videos and they what different women are doing, but it just doesn’t look right. Even my blush, yes I have many for me, don’t seem to go on right. I can go from barely there to holy smokes that’s a lot of blush with just a slight more😁🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
If it’s one product, it’s the foundations, which I have many.
@@stephaniescofield9433 foundations I would aim to get either cream ones or a lightweight liquid like a serum foundation and the key is using a buffing brush to work the product into the skin so it doesn’t sit on top. For my mature beauties, I always recommend a cream blush as it’s more forgiving to blend and tap on the cheeks with your fingers or a beauty blender
Let me know if any of that helps at all! ❤️❤️❤️
I am 62. What kind of coverage are you looking for? I am in love with the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream. It's very light coverage, very moisturizing. I feel like it just smooths out my skin tones...very flattering. I use the color medium (my normal foundation color is light/medium cool or neutral.
@@MarlenaStell thanks so much for responding. Would you suggest exfoliating and if so, what would you recommend for aging dry skin?
Great video ❤❤❤
I SO WISH we could get that eyeliner in Australia! Why oh why!
Love this video... ❤
I appreciate this video! Also I tried hitting "like" but it would register!
I have the Colour Pop Stone Cold pallet and the colors are beautiful but they really are not pigmented and have no staying power. I use foundation underneath and setting spray on top but I just doesn't give me enough. You see these gorgeous colors and you want to use them and all you get is a hint of the color.
Any pimp that fits Double Wear fits the L'oreal Serum Foundation AND the Fit Me bottle. Amazon has many choices.
Unfortunately, many of these products have fragrance, alcohol, and/or flavor, and aren't suitable for sensitive skin and lips. That said, there are a couple of drugstore products I've used for many years that are OK on my dry, sensitive skin: Maybelline Dream BB Fresh Beauty Balm (sheer tinted moisturizer) and L'Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Blush. Dream Fresh only comes in 5 colors, but if one of them works for you, it's great. I use shade 100. The blush comes in a range of cool, warm, and neutral tones. I use Baby Blossom, which is a light cool pink.
In the past, I used to wear L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick, but it has fragrance. I quit buying it when I decided to start using fragrance and flavor free lipstick. I recall that my favorite colors were Saucy Mauve - great for fall and winter if you have cool toned skin - and Mauved.
My wallet definitely is very very happy for watching videos like this very good 💯
Are the elf bite size Eyeshadows good? Especially the blue one? Are there formulas in the eyeshadow consistent?
OH MY.....sweetie, I almost never say ANYTHING in comments but ehen you talk about the lashes at EXACTLY the second you say "flirty lashes", the lash falls off!! It made me laugh soo hard because I adore you and your content, bit the wrong kind of people can make that a meme that will last through the ages!!¡!
That’s true lol!! I have long filming days so those lashes were hanging on for dear life lol
You're better than I. I've had 2 sets of $$$$ lashify lashes and every day I say I'm going to put em on and every day I don't do it!
You're amazing....TYVM❤🎉❤😂
I loved this. Is the any chance you could do a cruelty-free version? I know there were some in here, but how but how about all?
I sometimes worry that things thay are sold at a price so low that you can't see how a profit is made, that there might be something... bad.
The Milani cream blush in Coral Crush is gorgeous, a true sunset color. There berry color does not look good on me, Milani needs a good light pink color.
I would be happy to purchase more drugstore products but I've had so many color fails that I felt I was wasting money. I do like some Milani products and I had the original Joah foundation which was fantastic. I also like the Maybelline Lifter glosses and pencils but I'm very wary of spending more on foundations and powders.
Marlena you are welcome to do my makeup, mascara, lip stick, lip gloss and foundation anytime
As always, great recommendations! Marlena the L'Oreal link is for the bronzer not what you show using in the red case. Did they repackage or is there a fresh wear powder and a bronzer. Thanks a bunch!
So there’s the pressed powder and the bronzer- both formulas feel the same so either would work as a bronzer. I have both and use both ❤
Marlena! What about us matte lip lovers... what drugstore matte lipstick do you reccomend?? 🙏
Milani fetish ones ❤
Hello beautiful Marlena 😍
Ladies im looking for a concealer that doesnt sit in under eye fine lines. I wear glasses and they magnify everything!!! Every damn crease
Neun Worte zum Support des Kanals und des Creaters ! 😇😺
I must know where you got those earrings! I love them 😍
Melinda Maria ❤
I use Milani eye shadow matte pallete. Not the one made in China. I choose either made in USA or Canada
Does the CP concealer lift off and slip and slide with sweat?
Just curious, what is different about a baked blush?
Love drug store videos!!! ❤
The matte and poreless foundation.. What color is medium neutral? Not yellow????
what eyeshadow duo chrome do you have on? It's very pretty.
Those are by Terra Moon :)
I love the colors and texture of L’Oréal lipsticks but cannot deal with the fragrance and taste. It’s a pity because I would buy only those if I could.
Thank you ❤
Hello Marlena. Can u give us an update on MakeUp Geek Academy? It seems like it just disappeared and you have not talked about it at all.
I'll be doing an update soon :). The website is getting redone, so that's why the silence a bit as I've been working to streamline it and make it more user friendly. Also, I haven't been able to focus on it like I like this year due to my pregnancy complications and miscarriage. But I'll do update in the near future
@@MarlenaStellI'm so sorry about your pregnancy loss. My sincere condolences to you and your husband.
@@MarlenaStell Oh. Marlena, I didn't know you lost a pregnancy! Sending you love.
3:58 how is the Milano liner in the waterline
