Would love to see a review of Stray Dog Strength’s GOAT. Seems to hit a versatility sweet spot between this (which seems mobile but not very versatile) and the isolator (which is incredibly versatile but seems a bit too unwieldy for me to use as a rack attachment).
Great review! I’d be interested to see if there is a budget-ish rack mounted option that allows for the versatility that is possible with a standalone. Matt Rosenman describes many different exercises he has figured out with his (Valor Fitness CC-4) standalone which is similar to, but I don’t know if those variations and exercises could be transferred to a Titan or Bells rack mounted option.
This is definitely cheaper than the alternatives but still feels expensive for what it is. I wonder how this compares to a DIY option using 3”x3” tubing and mounting brackets.
Great review, I bought one that was nearly identical to this from Walmart. .Brand is EVRYMATE and it was under $150. It had those wing nuts you talked about but they didn’t work as well. It also didn’t quite fit my power rack but all I had to do was buy bigger washers and I was all set.
It’s also just interesting to see where innovation goes next. Everything attaching to the ecosystem of a 3x3 upright has sparked some really creative builds.
I got one for leg extenstion only. I have it mounted on the back of my Ethos 3x3 Rack with 1 inch holes. Its in a dedicated spot at a dedicated height. I use my foam plyo box to sit on. It works good to me. I think by putting the weight horn on the front, rather than the side gives much better resistence.
Also on Glucks advice I pre ordered the Giant Stand Alone Lat Machine. Hopefully it meets the same expectations. Giant said eta late november. I was going to get the Bells plate loaded lat machine, but i thought I would take another chance on Glucks advice.
I’m not even looking for something like this, but it’s always a great day when a Gluck review is released! I come for the jokes, and stay for the puns👍
You never did the GOAT from Straydog but its ok i just bought it. Looks promising so far, I think it will be the perfect balance between cheap/limited and the most versatile but too big and heavy.
You actually got me interested in this but when I read the Amazon reviews a couple complained that the leg rollers bent easily. I then found another one that advertised thicker inner rods for the leg rollers to avoid this unfortunate situation. I bought it, keeping in mind your observation of Amazon's liberal return policy. Thanks for this review!
@@keegn It is a pretty well-made piece. Good/robust construction. Bolts to my squat rack. I would have to install/uninstall it every workout in order to use the rack (which was simply using two very large bolts. I kept an adjustable wrench next to the rack in order to do this). I would save my leg extension/curls for the end of my leg workout .Leg extensions were easier to do successfully than left curls. For extensions, I would place a seat at the appropriate height behind the device and do only one leg at a time (there's really not enough space to do both at the same time) but this was very effective. I got a massive workout from that. Then for the leg curls I would have to stand facing the device and curl. Due to the limitation of the adjustability of the device, I would have to lift my knee away from the device to do a full curl which to me sacrifices the effectiveness of the exercise. Nevertheless, I was able to get a fair hamstring workout from this. A strong feature of the device I bought (different from the one featured in this video), is that it had a "pulley" type fitting so you could attach an exercise band to it (the other end of the band would be attached to the rack) which allowed some nice variations/additions to the exercises. Notably, I ended up abandoning this device and buying an inexpensive freestanding seated leg extension/curl device which is way more effective/convenient to use.
*I bought a power rack about 7 years ago and use it for most everything but what it's actually intended for, the big 3; not to say I don't do them at all.* As an inventor with a formal background in the science of engineering and many years in the complex trades as well, my first realization was these have the potential to replace every individual machine with well thought out peg-in pieces. It would be interesting to see a commercial gym that instead of machines, it has an army of power racks with a bundle of peg-in pieces on each that are more thought out so you can quickly shift it from one machine to another without a lot of time and effort required. *It would require a fuck ton of plates, but it would eliminate a crazy number of machines people are waiting for and that cost anywhere from a grand to $10K a piece.*
Ok I enjoy your reviews and you seem to know your stuff,, so here goes,, I own a REP zero gap ab5000 bench,, I want a leg extension attachment,, do you know if the bells of steel will fit and if yes with what added adapter? Or should I spend a little more and get the Bolt venom,, help pleaseeee
I almost bought this a couple months ago but wasn’t sure it would fit myHydra rack. Kinda wish I had now, I’m sure they’ll jack the price up now that your review’s out. It’s basic, but puts some of the other more expensive options in perspective. Not including the Isolator since it does a billion things. But why should we ever pay $650 for the Titan version if you can get this for less than 1/3 the cost?
In the end do you really think its worth the money? I know its the cheapest out there. Do you think it will all apart over a few years of use? Thanks so much for the great review. Keep’em coming.
The problem with these kind of attachments, all of them, is that we use it with weight is very close to the arm, which make the tension really weak. Bullet proof included. However, I found out that if you find a way to put the weight at the tip of the horn, it get really hard, even with a small weight. Just by putting a collar to hold the weight at the tip (and another one to avoid making a trebuchet), the tension is completely different. Adding a band makes it really hard. I'm maxing out a commercial unit at 300-400lbs... And using it like this single leg at the time with a 20lbs and a kinda 75lbs-100 band makes it really humbling...
@@BreadAndGatorade as funny as it sound, my quads are not that big! I wish they were though... I was training for strength at the time. But it was not single leg, both legs at the same time. Gimme a chance! 🤭
Which leg curl/extension should we review next? Or is this the best option?

Seems like an under $100 sort of thing. But maybe I'm just cheap. Thorough review!
Fun fact it took so long to arrive I had convinced myself it cost me $90 then I looked before filming and was like... Crap
While I’m too snobby to consider this attachment, I stayed for humor and wasn’t disappointed!
I went on Amazon and saw that guy's full review video. Absolutely hilarious.😂😂😂
That level of energy 😂

thx for the review. managed to get the same product in China for roughly $50usd, ship included. This shows how expensive international shipping is.
This might be the move as I was saving up for a Titan combo leg extension/leg curl machine but the space concerns get me
Yep. A rack attachment at least lets you store it outside of the gym area.
Another great review! Always enjoy watching these.
Thank you!

I got the T3 and love it, I’m strong but no world class StrongMan that I would really need more
Didnt read past Cheapest Rack then became excited and clicked. Even though it wasn’t what I thought I was still entertained.

For me personally, no. I would'nt use it but I've gotten spoiled. I also think it could be a bit beefier and you'd really need a dedicated spot for it

Back to our normal schedule 😃

I have 1.14 inch holes would this fit 2x2 tubes
"Badonkachonk" is now forever in my vocabulary. Thanks Gluck 😆.
Finally someone appreciates the intro jokes!
This looks very cool. Thanks for the good idea!

In your opinion is there any benefit to purchasing this as opposed to using lever arms with the roller pads for leg extension/curls?
That's a similar concept. The only Advantage here would be the weight and cost
Found one today on Amazon that someone bought and never used. $60
the for short name was as long as the real name 😂😂

Isnt the right side heavier because the weight is on the right side? Or you felt no difference?
