Those look expensive at $600 each, thats $1200 if you want 2. I'm having a force usa G3 delivered today for $1400us (Australia) most Usa gear is expensive due to the exchange rate. Im guessing the g3 is made in china therefore cheaper here.
I'm really new to to this type of equipment. Worked out at home for years using dumbbells and now transitioning to barbells. I am designing my own home gym in a limited space, on the second floor of my home. I purchased the Titan T2 power rack (71 inches). I wanted the higher version but with 8 foot ceilings it would impede my ability to do full pulls ups. Anyways, do you think this trolley attachment would attach to my T2? I realize Titan makes a lat pull down attachment but that attachment adds almost 2 feet to the rack and takes away from the space I have outside the cage where I plan to do deadlifts.
Rep is really lucky this video didn't come out 6 months ago. I would have probably gone for this over the Athena and Lat pulldown setup. I like the positioning of the weight horns and the ability to go up to 500lbs easily. Athena required me to go selectorized because I'd have no clearance for weight storage on rack (I do love the ease of selectorized though). Not having the 2:1 of Athena would be a major drawback, but acceptable considering that I spent over $3000 on the Athena and Lat/low row selectorized all around. I might have missed it in the video, but what is the weight of the trolley when unloaded? The Athena, at 10lbs, is a little heavy unloaded for my wife to do a few specific movements (shoulder external rotation, cable shoulder lateral raise) and 10lbs is a little high when I'm doing a wrist reverse supination movement with a tricep rope.
I like the idea and the execution is nearly flawless, however they suffer from the usual "small company problems" that all these innovating products suffer from: lack of brand trust, company longevity uncertainty, no real long term guarantee and higher prices. More than likely this product will either die out, stay alive with low niche sales or get bought out by one of the fitness' big companies. The Athena side mount starts at $474 and comes from REP who have really established themselves as the no.2 of the fitness industry (only slightly behind ROGUE), now known for their quality, innovation and customer service vs this system at $599 (WITH an early bird discount that is) from a company with 2 products, no track record and unknown quality. Right now its $949 for a dual Athena vs $1,148 for the Dial Motion equivalent OR $1,267 with the sidewinder, which is the feature that stands out the most. However that is until December 17, and after that what? Is it gonna go up 10%-15% or 20%? Then the REAL price for that setup could be anywhere from $1,300 to over $1,500, which would make this system at around $400-600 more expensive than REP's. Oh and the handle is only included if you buy before the 17th as well, so there's that to...
When you took the horn off the trolley I lost it. I was thinking "kind of a pain having the horns inside the rack, they'll get in the way" and then you just lifted it off. Mind blown. Such a simple but terrific feature.
Just bought with your link. Glad you made this video to support a small US business. Not having to set up a giant functional trainer and weight stack in my basement is a huge plus. Thanks again boss!
Thank you! It's a bit of an uphill battle because people tend to follow larger/more established business and it makes sense why but that doesn't mean there aren't some innovate people out there with a lot to offer.
I know those dudes personally and can say that everything they make is super well thought out and high quality. They are definitely perfectionist so I’m confident these systems are top notch 🔥
I think that's what a lot of people will overlook with this. Unless you've seen/tried it you won't see the level of thought and detail that went into it.
Tell them I love the system, and would have bought one, but wow they are super expensive for what they are. In my mind, they shouldn't be more than say $500 for two of the trolley systems.
Just ordered the dual trolley via the affiliate link. Very excited for this! Much cheaper than the ares or athena. Got the lat upper arm as well. Thanks so much for this video! This was exactly what I was looking for.
I was actually looking into getting either a Athena, Ares or Vulcan weight stack to build out a custom functional trainer and stumbled across this video. These actually look really good and are a fraction of the cost for two of them. I like that they're so customizable. I may have to give these a try
I love the design of this. It's basically a rack-agnostic Athena, so anyone can take advantage of the versatility. I just ordered a 6-post w/Athena from Rep on Black Friday (using the affiliate link), otherwise I would consider this heavily.
I currently have a plate loaded pulley system I made myself, primarily for lat pulldowns. I attached a chain at the loading pin end for being able to change the length of the cord for different movements. Much cheaper, but if I actually used my pulley system more often in my workouts, I would be all over one of these Dialed Motion systems for the quality and ease of use.
This video is a saving grace because I have a rogue monster rm-3 and didn’t know if the Athena plate loaded would fit my rack but these are even better for cheaper
Amazing review. Looks like Dialed Motion has a great cable set-up. Love the 1-1 ratio cable attachment set-up with less complex pulleys set-up, the trolley system with removable weight pins and space saving design. Just the idea I was looking for my DIY home-gym pulley attachment I'm building at the moment. I was going to build a complex adjustable cable system, and a dedicated lat pull-down/low-row pulley system for my power rack until I came across this idea. However, I couldn't justify the price of the dialed motion pulley system until I saw the price on standard construction/industrial grade SRL (Self Retracting Lifeline) similar to the retractor that dialed motion uses and now I can see why it was priced accordingly.
I’m glad to see an independent review and that the quality and design match the price. The universal fit and flexibility to use the same system for functional movements as well as heavy rows, pull-downs, and belt squats is impressive.
I pre ordered one after following the development for a while and have been a bit nervous. Definitely feeling better after watching this video! Thank you!
Awesome Review! Thanks Adrian! I pre-ordered this Dialed Motion trolley system as soon as it became available. The main reason is because my home gym is not big enough to have a standalone functional trainer and this dialed motion trolley system is my Best Solution! I am surprised to hear from you that Dialed Motion will do some upgrades of their system before they sent out the final version. I would like to see there are Stainless Steel for the trolley as an upgrade option. And maybe a more refined version of the Belt Squat that can squat outside the power rack.
Another awesome review as always! These seem fantastic as I have a 4 post PR 4100 (copped that with the affiliate link btw 😉) that i would not need to build out to add the Athena to them which i have been considering for a while now. Another thing I have always commended and loved from your reviews is that you do not pull any punches while also being fair, so the fact that these got such high praise from you is really high praise indeed! Hope you and the fam have an awesome holiday season!
Thank you for this breakdown! I have a Omni Rack, a flat rack setup, which means Athena isn’t an option. I debated on which pulley system would be the best choice for my home among the other ones mentioned like the Buffalo Bully Fab and BridgeBuilt Omni Pulley. The price for Dialed Motion was actually lower if you compare it and add shipping. I’ve been looking for a combo for over a year and this review helps me rest on my purchase with Dialed Motion!
While I have no doubt the quality of these are great, I think it's really hard to justify the price of the 2-trolley system when you can get an entire rack + smith machine + functional trainer all-in-one with basically all the attachments you need for about the same price by getting a Mikolo M4 (even went on sale for $999 over black friday). Now it probably won't feel quite as refined as something that costs literally 2x to 10x as much, but I think it's more than enough for the vast majority of people who are lifting under 400lbs in the rack, and it won't limit most people from getting fantastic workouts and getting the results they are after. Would love to see some coverage of the Mikolo M4 (Gen 5 was just released in October 2023) as I think it's one of the best value options on the market and I don't know of anything else that provides so much functionality and versatility for a similar price.
I'm not a huge fan of those do everything Chinese racks. In my experience things that try to do everything often do nothing well. I've seen again and again how that type of product is designed by someone who's often unfamiliar with what they're actually designing for. I'm not saying that's always the case but I know a few of the big players in the home gym space have used a similar approach. I've been sent documents and videos showing me the process and I've used so many pieces of equipment designed that way that I tend to steer away from it. That being said if they reach out and people want to see reviews on that type of stuff I'll be more than happy to give it a shot.
Great and timely review! I'm literally setting up a new home gym in my house this weekend and have been looking at pulley systems. Good work and I am now a subscriber!
Just placed my order by using your link. I have 4 posts for my power rack, I would like still to keep the two back posts for plates storage. Only use the two front posts for this cable system. So I ordered 1 side Ibex system with Lat upper arm. Thanks for your great review!
Here are the huge pluses - low row you can use bench instead of sitting on floor - I can now walk through the back of my rack after I remove the Rep laT pull-down. This is huge for me due to where my rack is positioned in my garage. - Removable weight horns is awesome because my width where the rack is at is limited. Now I can walk past without banging shins. - No cable at the bottom. I’m ordering this and selling my Rep laT pull-down. Was considering Athena but this is more versatile and I don’t have to buy the extra 2 posts.
I thought about these types of systems but just went with an Athena and loved it so much got dual. Combine the weight for 220lbs and both accept bands as well. I can do 3-5 different exercises in the time it might take people to change the weight stack. I bet if you took the value of your time over 3-5 years and how much time you save with selectorized cables its basically FREE and 500% more enjoyable. Especially when working out with wife or kids and changing weights a few times every 5 mins.
There's definitely a few great solutions that will work well for different situations. I think the Athena is great but I hate the barbell limbo my wife and I have to do to spot each other on bench since it consumes that extra space on the 6 post. That being said, this is a more compact setup with it's own tradeoffs.
@@majorgear1021 I'm not sure but would doubt it cable lengths are important and they based them on their rack sizes. If I had another rack I'd buy one of those devices that uses magenetic energy to let you program the weight. One is cool can have heavier on the negative so say you are rowing 125lbs on way back can be 200lbs. Would be cool for side delts 25lbs on way up and 35 on way down. They can fit on any rack from what I've seen. I think its called Voltra. There may be others its badass.
I think what most aren't seeing is the weight capacity. The value in this system being 1:1 ratio and a 500lb capacity per side. Most functional trainers can't get close to that nor does the Athena.
tbh no one is ever going to pull 500 lbs per side (or 1000 lbs in total). most advanced lifters can't do lat pulldowns over 200lbs, and that's the "highest weight" cable exercise I can think of. that's the same as people justifying their purchase of a $4000 graphics card because "it reaches 500 FPS bro". like yeah but what use do you have for 500 FPS
Honestly, love the transparency and glad that the company turned around and stuck to their guts. I've been looking for a pulley system to add to my rack, and I am more convinced now to go with this product. Unfortunately, at the time of this comment, their sidewinder and most parts are sold out, and out of stock T.T
They're sold out a few after this review. They're working on another round of orders and eventually having it always in stock. Glad you enjoyed the review.
Pretty cool, this is what I think most of us was hoping that Rogue was going to make the Slinger into...and then a Version 2 after a steep discount a week later.
Looks like a really great, innovative design, but it's a little too cost-prohibitive. For someone like me with an RM-3, it's honestly more tempting to just scrap the entire setup and get an Ares. Totally understand that they're a start-up and don't have economies of scale on their side, but this would be extremely well-positioned at a ~30% cost reduction
@@matthewarnold2802 yeah, not talking about right now for a price reduction, but hopefully, they can get their costs down over time. If they don't, they're doing something wrong
Just the Ares with no rack is $3200 and this dual system is $1200. How is it tempting to scrap your rack and start over unless you’re horrible at math?
@@douglowry7382 You're trying to make it overly simplistic: it's not just about the cost but more about the overall value. Obviously, you're going to pay more for a selectorized system than you are for a plate-loaded one. Plus, the Ares offers much more versatility, at least in its current state. That's why it's tempting to go that route instead. Make sense?
Good review, Gluck. That is incredibly over-priced. There are better options for functional trainers at the $1150 price point than two pulleys. It's a good idea, but not $1150 good. I have the BOS Hydra pull-down and low-row attachment with 3x3 ,11-gauge steel members for close to half that price.
seems like you are pricing the functional trainer for DialedMotion and comparing it with the Bells Lat Pulldown which are two different things. You should be comparing it to the DialedMotion Sidewinder which is effectively their lat pulldown solution and the price for that is $480 usd. Or maybe 1 trolley + sidewinder arm at $720usd is more comparable.
@@minhinh0 I see what you mean, and that’s fair. I mean to say that I the only way to justify this price is to say that it can compensate for a whole functional trainer without occupying more space. I have purchased less expensive attachments that are more expensive to produce and ship, like the BOS attachment. $600 for a single-sided trolley is outlandish, but I understand that companies can charge outlandish prices when they are the first to market with a product.
The more I grow up with my homegym, the more I want specific machines away from my rack and leaves the rack for bar stuff only. It takes too much time to setup everything (looking at you lever arms), but I do appreciate that kind of ingenious solutions. It's very clever... But for all that stuff, I managed to get a Freemotion, so I might be okay for the rest of my life. I also try to find selectorized instead of plate loaded stuff too, I became lazy to move all those plates in and out all the time! Need more space to store them too... Haha... It's just harder to get good selectorized machines for the legs... Haven't found any that was in my budget (which mean a steal, somebody that sells something he don't know the value) Thanks for the review as always!
The automatic adjusting is very innovative. 1200 bucks to get both sides is a little much considering what else you can get around the price range but you're paying for the couple of things you can't get elsewhere. All the mechanisms are there for a drop in barbell to make it into a Smith machine too
Well, darn it - their site said the preorder would be open until the 19th and I’ve been working on my wife for approval but gave her that date. Got a ‘yes’, clicked the affiliate link, and they’re sold out. Congrats to Dialed Motion of selling out of the first batch, hope there’s a round two for me to get a pair of trolleys!
Honestly, it feels a bit expensive for what it is. Just under $600 US for the system with the trolly does’t seem in line with other options. I know REP’s Athena plate loaded version is more, but I feel it’s a much better product. Maybe I am over thinking. Also, if you wanted to go budget you can get systems for half that price and will have a full functional trainer. I would say if these were $350-$400 it would be a no brainer. $800 for a full functional trainer that integrates with your current rack.. Love how that sounds. I now they cant give it away, but those are my thoughts. Anyway, thanks so much for all the work you put into your reviews. I love your content. I appreciate all you do. V/R Shane
Owning and having tested most options in this budget range I think this is a little pricey but not horribly overpriced. It offers many advantages that other systems don't but like anything else it has to fit you and your situation. For us as an example I like having the back of my rack open (on the sides as well) because Wynie and I spot each other and that doesn't work with the Ares and the barbell limbo is real fun on an Athena. Both great systems, but again, they all have their pros and cons.
That all makes perfect sense. You are right….. when it comes to equipment and accessories it has to fit your needs and capabilities. If it doesn’t then it’s not worth anything. I have the PR-5000 with the Ares and absolutely love it. Thanks for all the great work. V/R Shane
Ordered one for my home made lat pulldown single stack, currently I just use load rated rope with a cam lock caribeener (I never know how to spell it), and it works very well for how cheap it is - but the cable retractor (which is all I bought) should take things to the next level.
I ordered this on the 1st pre-order day. Cant wait til March. Dual trolley and Lat attachment. Almost $1400 but thats a deal its like a Rep plate loaded Athena but better? We'll see.
That trolley set up is nice, I fear they may be a little late to get a seat at the table though. Two factors bring worry, first, there seems to be a lot of plastic within the retractor part, I dont know if there is but from the pics Gluck showed there looked to be plastic, so one questions the durability and secondly the price seems rather high. Coming into a flooding market of cable set ups your price needs to be lower than others or your product needs to blow the others out of the water. I see neither here but it is a good product if they use a competing price. I saw just yesterday a stand alone functional trainer with dual 200 lb. Stacks for $1299 from Signature Fitness I understand that Signature Fitness is a budget company but their equipment looks to be of high quality material for their level. The piece was Sharp, it looked very nice. I wish these brothers well, guys come off your price $200 and your product I believe will shine. Good luck to you both
Gotta see a video on how this stacks up vs ares! I got a love hate relationship with mine. Makes my 6 post rack feel only like 4 and have to incline bench outside
Exactly what I'm looking for since I don't have the space for a lat pulldown/low row attachment for my rack. Unfortunately my rack is 2.5"x2.5" and the price of this attachment is very expensive. A lat pulldown/low row attachment for my rack is half the price of this.
The belt squat attachment rollers will.make it possible to have lever arms within a 41 or 43 inch depth rack and also have cable resistance. Can also do it with cheap amazon pulleys actually
And if you don't have the space in your garage for a functional trainer in addition to your power rack? What then? How much is real estate by the square foot these days?
Outstanding review! Great design! I did buy a selectorized Athena PR-5000 half rack though. No regrets. I tie both trolleys with Dasking brand resistance band bar. No need for lat pull down/low row or Ares. If I need more weight, will add via Gympin.
I saw the Darko Longy bar, but bought the Gympin Holey bar instead through your affiliate link and it arrived yesterday. It works better than what I was using (Dasking) to connect my two Athena trolleys. And I also use the Holey bar on my landmine. (Also just received my Ironmaster bench with leg attachments, which I bought through your affiliate link as well). I attached the Gympin Holey Bar to the Ironmaster leg attachment weight horn. And clipped my Athena cables to the Gympin Holey bar. Now I have a cable machine for leg extensions, which have a better force curve over using plates on the weight horn. Thanks for all of your great reviews this year and the Black Friday links! I saved significant money and bought all the right things thanks to your reviews.
I think the sidewinder is more practical for my current setup but the trolley looks sweet as well. Now my wallet just needs to recover from all my Black Friday spending 😂
Wow, the Ibex looks pretty awesome. As mentioned, it's sold out but I'm leaning towards ordering and waiting on the next round. I have a 4 post rack from GetRX's that's 3x3 with 11 gauge steel. I should be able to do lat pulldowns, low rows and cable crossovers, right?
You didn’t talk about their proprietary cables Gluck! I asked one of them if they were gonna sell the cables as a standalone (because I’d definitely use those on my other machines too) and they said they hadn’t thought about it, but that it was a good idea!
Man, I love the concept and the execution. That price though... Yeah, I love the idea of being able to move the trolley around and keep it out of your way, I move around my rack a lot, but is that worth $300 over an Athena?
With the price we have to consider the fact that they had to order 250 units to make the minimum requirement to launch this. That's a huge chunk of money upfront. I love that Rep and other large companies can bring their prices down some (even if those are often a bit high) but this is a 2 person start up and it's very well refined so I understand the pricing some.
The problem is that they paid that upfront and instead of the pricing going down after that, it's actually gonna increase that's what "EARLY BIRD" pricing means. I've followed you for years (from my main account, this is my at work one) and I've never seen you react and respond to comments the way you're doing for this product... I'm starting to wonder if you have a dog in this fight or you're finally starting to sell snake oil like some of the other gym equipment reviewers have done. Either way I don't blame you, everyone's got bills to pay after all. @@GlucksGym
I wonder if i will like this more than my costco inspire functional trainer🤔 also ihave a rhino belt squat dropped into a 30" manticore bells of steel rack. I wonder if this will will work at the same time using the rhino?? Lets say my wife using rhino and me using the functional trainer outside rack??
I like the trolley set up, it might sell, but it might not because of a few factors. The sidewinder is out, I definitely would not even consider buying it because of a few reasons. The price is kinda high for the trolley considering the Athena is out there. Everybody is going with a well known company over a small private company for obvious reasons. With all the cable options out there now, when people are asked to spend their hard earned money, I just don't see them spending their money on this piece of equipment over some of the others for a few reasons. It's different for Gluck because he got it for free so he is going to be a little biased towards the company that sent it. It's a human response so not his fault, we all would be the same if we had free gym equipment arriving at our house regularly. IMO, he should get all the equipment he reviews for free. I wonder if Gluck wanted a cable set up and he had to pay for it with his own money,, which system out there would Gluck get, I think I know but I might be wrong. What do Y'all think he would get.
I think the appeal of the Sidewinder is you can run it on a single post. So you can put it on Squat stands for example. I think these have several advantages over other systems but whatever people pick has to work for their situations. I always have to remind myself what I want/need isn't what someone else does.
@@GlucksGym Oh Yeah, I think we both utilize empathy before we speak. One of the reasons for not getting the sidewinder is in my opinion nobody wants a single cable set up anymore, just from my observation as they are very hard to load and unload, there is always gonna be some free swinging of the unit and there are way better options. I dont see anybody spending $500 on a weight pin single cable option, now honestly do you? Yeah, it's nice now that you have it but are you spending that kinda money for that?
@bobbyhunt3009 not everyone can fit a 4 or 6 post rack. I happen to have a follower on the national powerlifting team who uses squat stands because he doesn't have the space for a full rack. There's a lot of reasons a lot of people buy different things that work for them. People spend over a grand on a barbell, what do I know about them and their situation? I like this system and I've spent more on dumber things.
Id be interested to know if the cable in the retractor ends up getting wedged between the wrapped cable when pulling heavy weights. When I think about my lat a low row cable connecting points, they’re all very simple end points. With this, the cable being loaded within the retractor is lying on top of the rest of the cable wound up within the device. I’m curious if sometimes it would get wedged between the rest of the cable and difficult to get unwedged.
I see what you are saying. The hub that the cable spools around and the cable sheathing are both pretty slick. The wraps will rearrange themselves a bit under heavy load but we've never had an issue with it or had it get wedged. -James
This looks awesome! Does anyone know if this works with sliding lever arms also installed on the front uprights? I've got the BOS Hydra sliding lever arms and would love to have these cables on the front too.
Lever arms are a bit tricky to work with. They take up a lot of real-estate on the rack / post. It is possible to run them both but it will limit the height adjustment and probably make both pieces a little less useful. -James
I was about to buy the Ares but then saw this and pre-ordered. Love that it’s a simple install and doesn’t take up all that’s space in my rack. Space is very premium in and around my PR-5000. Won’t be painful to move into a new house either. Different requirements and priorities out there and this just checks the boxes for me.
I have a Rogue HR-2. Would this be a good fit with my rack, or would I need to upgrade it? I thought about converting it to a 390F, but I'm not sure that'd be enough.
The sidewinder and trolley will both work but with some limitations. You will only be able to adjust the carriage with the swivel pulley up to where the crossmember connects the posts. You will also have reduced cable stroke due to the shorter available trolley travel on the 70” back posts. Your cable stroke with the trolley will be equal to the amount of open post minus about 10”. Connecting the single pulley mounts at different heights is not a problem. You would definitely get better functionality with the 390F. One cool thing is you could get the cable system see if you’re happy with the functionality on the HR2 and then upgrade later and take the cable system with you.
@dialedmotion I have 90's on the back instead of 70's 😊 I have it loaded in my cart, now I'm trying to decide whether waiting until the end of March matters to me.
I’ve seen the belt squat attachment but it looked like they had to start the movement at the bottom and not at the top. Is there a way to start the belt squat at the top?? Also, the Darko attachment seems to be better because it can go up or down over your knees in increments but the one that dialed motion shows is fixed. The Darko lifting one can also be a footplate for rows. The dialed motion trolley unit looks LEGIT though! :)
I think the belt squat is still in prototyping so it's hard to say. I haven't used it and I don't really trust things until I get to use them but that's just me 😂
On a 6-post you’ll have clearance even down to 16” crossmembers. Weight plates are about 17.75”. With a 16” crossmember you have 1.5+16+1.5=19” because the trolley weight horn and weight storage are both centered on their respective posts.
@@GlucksGym well I discussed the cable replacement issue with them earlier but they said to ship it back and they will fix it. They said its strong spring is difficult to fix. Then I checked your excellent tear down review. :) But it also don't show how can I replace broken cable. Or how to tighten it back. To be honest its an amazing product for a traveling person. It's compact and I can use it without rack also. Please do make a video on cable strength and replacement
Certainly need "starter" gym rack sized version. Companies also need to stop just adding stuff to the top increasing overall height.. basement gyms are height limited and you can certainly design for making things that hang under or cantilever to the sides instead of adding 4-6" for all these rack upgrades
How do you think the Dialed Motion cable systems stack up? gluck.fit/DialedInMotion

Agreed. What I like about this is there's so many little things like that. I probably missed a few in the vid.

Just bought with your link. Glad you made this video to support a small US business. Not having to set up a giant functional trainer and weight stack in my basement is a huge plus. Thanks again boss!
Thank you!
Love how you find awesome small business rack add ons. That is a game changer. Keep killing it. Love the channel!
Their TH-cam channel shows it off quite well. For example, they recently released a short about their custom sex bolts used on the front trolley.
@@calvinlawn3457I refuse to buy any gym equipment that doesn't come with custom sex bolts

Thank you!
did you get yours yet? You like it.
@@lunchie_rs_529 haven't gotten it yet, still waiting.
Just when I was sold on the Athena you hit me with this. Options are always good!
Thank you for being thoughtful and generous enough to use our link. It's big for a small channel like ours.
However, I couldn't justify the price of the dialed motion pulley system until I saw the price on standard construction/industrial grade SRL (Self Retracting Lifeline) similar to the retractor that dialed motion uses and now I can see why it was priced accordingly.
keep coming back to make sure i made the right purchase while i wait delivery... yup. best option for my space
I’m glad to see an independent review and that the quality and design match the price. The universal fit and flexibility to use the same system for functional movements as well as heavy rows, pull-downs, and belt squats is impressive.
I appreciate your honest, thorough and humorous reviews. You should easily have 10x more followers.
😀 Thanks! That means a lot!
That's a nice piece with a lot of versatility.
Really like how easy it is to remove the plate horn... Makes it not in the way even if you store it low on a 6 post set up.
I pre ordered one after following the development for a while and have been a bit nervous. Definitely feeling better after watching this video! Thank you!
Great review. I agree 100% This is an incredibly well thought out set of products and the quality is top notch.
Excited to see what you do with yours!
You can already squat outside the rack with their belt squat rollers by attaching it to rack feet on the front
"I typically finish pretty quickly..." subtle yet entertaining. Poor Winnie
🤣 Had to slip that in there
Another awesome review as always!
Thank you so much! That means a lot to me!
I think u turned in to the gold standard?!!! Thanks gluck ❤
I'm really trying 😊
My prayers have been answered.
This is great ingenuity. Great for homegyms. If they come out with 2x3 compatibility, I will be a customer.
That's some really cool engineering there. Great idea for home gyms. Thanks for highlighting! Hoping for a 2x3 version at some point...
Gonna have to watch this again later
LMK what you think
Thank you for this breakdown! I have a Omni Rack, a flat rack setup, which means Athena isn’t an option. I debated on which pulley system would be the best choice for my home among the other ones mentioned like the Buffalo Bully Fab and BridgeBuilt Omni Pulley. The price for Dialed Motion was actually lower if you compare it and add shipping. I’ve been looking for a combo for over a year and this review helps me rest on my purchase with Dialed Motion!
Happy to help!
Fellow Omni rack owner here. I was very excited when this finally released as well!
pretty slick systems, great video!
This is what I was looking for my rack. I like the explanation of the retractor. I believe this will work for me. Glad I saw this video.
Great stuff congrats to the brothers who developed it. With belt squat and the other stuff coming out this will make numbers.
Great looking product. Please make a 2x3 version Dialed Motion!
I have a rogue R3 so would need the sidewinders in 2x3 as well.
Great and timely review! I'm literally setting up a new home gym in my house this weekend and have been looking at pulley systems. Good work and I am now a subscriber!
I want it!!!! Need to start saving. No more gym purchases for the next couple months. 🤣
Just placed my order by using your link. I have 4 posts for my power rack, I would like still to keep the two back posts for plates storage. Only use the two front posts for this cable system. So I ordered 1 side Ibex system with Lat upper arm. Thanks for your great review!
Here are the huge pluses
- low row you can use bench instead of sitting on floor
- I can now walk through the back of my rack after I remove the Rep laT pull-down.
What rack are you putting this on?
@@TwistiieHD rep pr5000. Should have the parts sometime mid to late April.
THIS IS GAME CHANGING!!!!!
Does the Athena fit US and metric racks though? I have a Titan Fitness X-3 power rack , and I doubt Ares or Athena would fit it.
Yeah the 1:1 but without having to Jerry rig a bunch of different cable sizes is money
tbh no one is ever going to pull 500 lbs per side (or 1000 lbs in total). most advanced lifters can't do lat pulldowns over 200lbs, and that's the "highest weight" cable exercise I can think of.
that's the same as people justifying their purchase of a $4000 graphics card because "it reaches 500 FPS bro". like yeah but what use do you have for 500 FPS
I guess if you don't have the room, it makes since. For the price you can get a plate loaded functional trainer
Excited to see the 2x3 version. They are doing great things!
Glad you enjoyed the review.
such a cool product
Pretty cool, this is what I think most of us was hoping that Rogue was going to make the Slinger into...and then a Version 2 after a steep discount a week later.

That ratchet/reel action is really impressive at that price point.
That 30% margin is their profit lol
@@matthewarnold2802 yeah, not talking about right now for a price reduction, but hopefully, they can get their costs down over time. If they don't, they're doing something wrong
Just the Ares with no rack is $3200 and this dual system is $1200. How is it tempting to scrap your rack and start over unless you’re horrible at math?
@@douglowry7382 probably meant the Athena. You can buy dual L+R sides, plate loaded for a 4000 rack for $950
@@douglowry7382 You're trying to make it overly simplistic: it's not just about the cost but more about the overall value.
I have the BOS Hydra pull-down and low-row attachment with 3x3 ,11-gauge steel members for close to half that price.
yeah have to agree. I can get two bells of steel plate loaded cable towers for cheaper. Given it takes up more room, but still.
seems like you are pricing the functional trainer for DialedMotion and comparing it with the Bells Lat Pulldown which are two different things.
It great for space constrained people like myself, where I'm not sure I even have room for BOS all-in-one trainer.
Brilliant products! Perfect for non-Rep Rack owners - and probably the only solution if you brought some smaller company's rack.
Great review, Gluck!
Thank you!
Haven't found any that was in my budget (which mean a steal, somebody that sells something he don't know the value)
Thanks for the review as always!
Moving weights = more exercise!
It has more flexibility than the pulley at the back of my BoS tall residential power rack. I'm really interested in the belt squat too.
The automatic adjusting is very innovative. 1200 bucks to get both sides is a little much considering what else you can get around the price range but you're paying for the couple of things you can't get elsewhere. All the mechanisms are there for a drop in barbell to make it into a Smith machine too
thanks for posting always looking forward to your next video.
Nice product
Well, darn it - their site said the preorder would be open until the 19th and I’ve been working on my wife for approval but gave her that date. Got a ‘yes’, clicked the affiliate link, and they’re sold out. Congrats to Dialed Motion of selling out of the first batch, hope there’s a round two for me to get a pair of trolleys!
You can blame me I guess 😊 I didn't realize they sold out. When the video released they were only 1/3 of the way there.
V/R Shane
@@murdog04I was highly impressed until i saw that ridiculous price. Simply robbery.

Stacks for $1299 from Signature Fitness

Yep. I just checked a moment ago. Everything is sold out. :(
Gotta see a video on how this stacks up vs ares!
$900 for two. It's literally cheaper just to buy a cable tower with all the accessories
If you go cheap then yes
I'd say most home gym won't need the expensive ones
And if you don't have the space in your garage for a functional trainer in addition to your power rack? What then? How much is real estate by the square foot these days?

Outstanding review! Great design! I did buy a selectorized Athena PR-5000 half rack though. No regrets. I tie both trolleys with Dasking brand resistance band bar. No need for lat pull down/low row or Ares. If I need more weight, will add via Gympin.
Thanks. I'm guessing that means Darko shorty/longy bar. I use mine to combine the stacks of my Ares because that stupid banana clip sucks.
Great review.
Thanks!

@@GlucksGym
Thanks for the great video. May I ask, which rack do you use in this video?

@@GlucksGym
Oh Yeah, I think we both utilize empathy before we speak.
'i typically finish fairly quickly'... Hilarious
Nice review. Thanks
thanks 😏
Iam trying to decide if I should sell my standalone inspire functional trainner to make some space and add the sidewinder to my drop in rhino rack??
-James
if I didn't already have the rep ares this would be a nice cheaper option
I was about to buy the Ares but then saw this and pre-ordered.
Love that it’s a simple install and doesn’t take up all that’s space in my rack. Space is very premium in and around my PR-5000. Won’t be painful to move into a new house either. Different requirements and priorities out there and this just checks the boxes for me.
Make a comparison between the rep ares and this
I have a Rogue HR-2.
Could this be placed on the uprights of a Rogue monster lite rig?
The uprights are 70 inches apart, because I want to mimic a true cable crossover.
Yeah there's a 5/8" version that we have as well.
Thanks for the review! Is the trolley suitable for a flatfoot 3x3 rack?
Yes it is 👍
Guess they answered that one for me 😃
I’ve seen the belt squat attachment but it looked like they had to start the movement at the bottom and not at the top.
I haven't used it and I don't really trust things until I get to use them but that's just me 😂
Bought it the second it dropped
That's a lot of faith
Did he mention he if it gets in the way if you use the back posts for weight storage or is there enough clearance?
On a 6-post you’ll have clearance even down to 16” crossmembers. Weight plates are about 17.75”. With a 16” crossmember you have 1.5+16+1.5=19” because the trolley weight horn and weight storage are both centered on their respective posts.
Can you mount one of the top pulleys on an upright with a nameplate?
Yep, that is not a problem.
How will I do heavy lat pull-downs with these systems?
Do you need some sort of seat that attaches to the rack ?
Im currently using straydog lat seat and leg roller, it will work with this unit too
@@Crazytaru1 ah , genius , love it
They have a lot of cool products
Amazing review. 👏
How to replace its cable.
If it breaks somehow
Technically you could pull apart the Retractor like I did and put another in but I'll recommend to them that they sell the parts separately.
Seems like a missed opportunity to not make these quick connect with a pin system.
Hey! Just curious what you mean by a quick connect pin system? Are you talking about making the full system easily removable from the rack?
Certainly need "starter" gym rack sized version. Companies also need to stop just adding stuff to the top increasing overall height.. basement gyms are height limited and you can certainly design for making things that hang under or cantilever to the sides instead of adding 4-6" for all these rack upgrades
Would love to see this for 2 x 2 racks for my cheap ass
