      Thank you so much Dr. Ekberg for all the information you provide us with. We are very lucky to have you on TH-cam and helping us. I’m in my mid 20s and started getting acne around a year ago. I tried so many things but it’s getting worse and the scars are damaging my skin. I’m vegetarian and I even cut dairy out of my diet. If you can suggest anything specially nutritious foods to eat as a vegetarian. Once again thank you so much Doc.😊😊

    Here’s what saved me from my leaky gut and severe inflammation, arthritis and auto-immune disorder. I got rid of sugar and all processed food and started fasting. It’s sounds intimidating but it gets easier once you’re committed and the results are irrefutable.

      @theonlychild4719 2 ปีที่แล้ว +87

      Is that intermittent fasting? I'm trying to do the same ... It's been hard for me as I relay on binging to cop with depression and anxiety 😭

    • @juliakay6204
      @juliakay6204 2 ปีที่แล้ว +291

      @@theonlychild4719 I’m sorry to hear you go through that. I didn’t binge but I did use food for comfort and when I was bored. First, I’m not a doctor and this is just based on my experience so I would highly recommend you talk to your doctor and do some research on your own. Having said that, I would say get rid of sugar and processed food (which are all filled with sugar) first. Don’t do anything else until you’re detoxed. It takes a month or two and it’s hard but then you won’t crave sugar at all, and I mean at all. Sugar makes you hungry, is addictive and makes you crave more sugar and gives you mood swings and worsens anxiety and depression (among many other awful side effects). Fasting helps those things too. I used to have terrible anxiety and these changes have stabilized my mood, made me feel positive and helps me deal with stress so much more easily. If you can get to that point then I would look into fasting, I shared what I do in the comments above but my journey is still evolving.
      Also, it’s not your fault. Food companies are downright evil and manipulative. They want you hooked on sugar because then you eat more, you buy more high-priced processed food and then you end up in the equally evil and expensive diet industry and round and round you go. They don’t want people avoiding the middle aisles and spending less and they definitely don’t want people start fasting. You are nothing but dollars and cents to them and they couldn’t care less that they are slowly poisoning you. Remember that unless you make it, it probably has sugar in it. Good luck, I sincerely wish the best for you.

    I am a 74 years old female diagnosed with osteo arthritis and osteopetrosis 10 years ago. In chronic pain and on pain killers daily.
    6 years ago, I started a journey of cutting out sugar. I followed Dr Dr Ekberg's video's.
    I avoided anything in a box (processed foods) I shopped only in the vegetable isle and the meat and dairy isle. I stopped milk except sugar free almond and coconut milk, but ate high fat Greek yoghurt , full fat cheese
    All my pains left me.I can climb stairs power walk, jog for a minute or two. I stopped all medications .I feel 20 years younger
    I also can fast breakfast and sometimes lunch as well because this HFLC; high fat low carb) eating takes away food cravings.

      Almond and coconut milks are not milk. I make my own almond beverage, with two and a half cups of almonds (soaked overnight in water) and next day, blended with water in the licuadizer, (blender). WHEAT is terrible because it contains gluten, which produces leaking guts, Diverticulitis.

    I noticed vitiligo beginning on my fingers, the palms of my hands, and underarms about a year and a half ago. I changed my diet to heal my gut. No wheat, dairy, sugar, no nightshade vegetables, only grass finished meats, and only healthy oils that I have seen on your channel.The vitiligo has halted, but the spots themselves have never gone away.
    It was a difficult transition for me because my family still wanted to eat the traditional American diet. I have remained steadfast and I don't regret it. I have beautiful hair and skin, great workouts, and lost 16 pounds of fat. Also started more meditation and cold showers and my immune system has not let me down. Mine started after taking antibiotics.
      I would recommend taking slippery elm, licorice root DGL (has to be dgl) , marshmallow root. To heal the gut.
      Gingko biloba helped mine stop spreading altogether.
      Green tea (throw in some fresh ginger)
      Turmeric with maybe almond milk or water if you can down it
      Blackstrap molasses
      Drink water stores in a copper jug or cup
      Psoralea corylifolia if you can find a cream with this then use that there are a lot from indian companies such as “verdura” and are quite cheap.
      Oh and main thing for me was sit in the sun whenever possible as I found that doctors told me the opposite however my skin regimented in the sun the most.
      Do not take gingko biloba and black seed oil together and try not to mix any potent herbs. Do look into these things and see how they benefit you. Apologies it’s not all in order just trying to throw out all the information I can as I remember. Good luck

I was dependent on caffeine to get me through the day, I ate a lot of sugary snacks and literally felt my face and body swollen. Im 23, very active and I am already feeling joint stiffness :( ... I've slowly been learning a lot about gut health and have changed my habits with eating and have noticed a difference (still have a long way to go and really need more discipline). Not having regular medical access is also a factor. Anyway, this has caused me so much stress and has really impacted my self esteem. Going on a strict diet for a month of veg only (and I mean only, except for water) then eating how suggested here saved me from a lifetime of deteriorating pain. 25 years later I’m still cow dairy, gluten and corn free 100%. I can cheat a bit with some fun gf stuff once in a while and it seems ok. Anytime I really go off track, it all comes back! Hard at first, but it was so worth it, and I enjoy how I eat now so much. At the start of my keto journey I had diarrhoea just about every night and I do mean explosive. Some days I was in tears on the toilet. Fasting helped a lot in that if I wasn't eating I was fine. I'm sure I had SIBO, IBS etc. This was accompanied by bad bloating and gas. I also had issues with my brain in that I became quite intolerant at times and even lost it on 2 occasions which shocked me. I thought it was connected to my gut issues. I was also suffering with terrible gallbladder attacks and we eventually found gallstones and a kidney growth but I digress. Its been 2.5 years now and things are great. I've kept my gallbladder and healed my gut. I'm doing great thanks to caring people like you Dr Sten. Thank you very much for sharing this valuable and truthful information. Much appreciated.

    I first watched this video about a week ago… i’ve slowly become a mess over the last twenty years or so, particularly after a ruptured appendix that almost killed me. Now I’ve got a LONG story with gastritis and chronic pain…and for the past five years or so I’ve been struggling with dramatically decreased energy combined with pain and arthritis. I’ve been tested /treated for multitudes of autoimmune issues, all negative- and I have a chronically high WBC AND A1C. I’ve heard “leaky gut” thrown around a few times, but nobody has given me a decent explanation…until NOW! THANK YOU!!! It all makes so much sense, and confirms my suspicions.
    Over the past few days I’ve changed a few more things in my diet and started taking a good enzyme supplement. And today was the first time in years that I’ve actually had energy after eating my lunch (I typically fall into a deep sleep for a few hours, which kills my productivity). Today however, I spent five hours cleaning and organizing all the little things that I let go to mess over these few years. I know that sounds boring and trivial to most people, but the point is…I actually had the energy to do something other than pass out with exhaustion. I’m really excited, I feel like it is possible that my old vitality might still be with me, it just needed to be unlocked.
    I still have gastritis and chronic pain….still a long way to go , but I feel like I finally know what path to take… small adjustments adding up to a big gain
    Thank you Thank you!!!
