I really liked the premise you had for this one. Secret Wars is a very underrated series. I think this is the first roster you've made so far I entirely agree with! Thank you for you effort in making this.
I personally would rather have Rogue instead of Captain Marvel. Rogue has a far bigger fanbase than Captain Marvel and hasn't made an appearance since MvC2.
@@theoutlawking9123 In MvC2, Rouge’s Power Absorption was merely stat boosts or health recovery. Plus, Rogue could steal Juggernaut’s power in X-Men vs. Street Fighter despite being able to resist it in the comics.
The idea for the story is brilliant, because it gives context to the multiplayer VS mode. Regardless of what characters you pick, there's a reason for why these heroes would be fighting each other, which didn't exist in previous games.
I could of imagine the wakanda chapter with Ryu and Hulk playing the same except after beating the ultron drones they had to fight a possessed Asura (serious that was such a huge miss opportunity to use him like they did with X vs Zero)
@@tuojiangoman3228 Yeah, you can choose to have 2-on-2 vs 3 on 3, or it just randomly changes how many fighters you fight each round, if that sounds correct. You can even play as 1 fighter vs 2 or 3 of them.
6:10 Honestly, it's a problem (in my opinion) with not just Gamora, but all of the female characters in the story mode. Gamora was just used to get Thanos to do stuff. Chun-Li is the game's “Convince Others to do the Right Thing” Captain Marvel does Jack ****. And Morrigan, oh goodness Morrigan…
Infinite's roster was hurt by mostly who they cut, most of the additions like Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Megaman X were great, as was the returning Venom, but then you got some weird ones like Gamora, Black Widow and Winter Soldier who were all in solely for that MCU synergy, and most of the newcomers couldn't fit the massive holes left by the cuts like the X-Men Also they need to bring in Franziska Von Karma, I'm still salty she was supposed to be in TvC but never went through
Yeah, especially since iirc she was cut because the speech bubble would be different sizes depending on the language (I'm so glad that they were able to figure out how to change the font size). Simon Blackquill would be cool too, I don't see any other Ace Attorney getting in besides Apollo if they do echo fighters. Edgeworth's simultaneously too similar to Nick to warrant his own spot but too different to be a clone
Batsu (from Rival School) if anyone here played Marvel vs Tatsunoku you'd know that Batsu had great combos when doing the fire special that takes the opponent to the sky & you can continue the combo on the air & finished it with the other special (kinda like Ryu's Hadoken).
Unlike the Project X Zone 3 concept that I found lacking in overall hypothetical scale, I nigh completely agree with your concept for the new and better MvC, with only a few changes as following: - There would be cameos of the Marvel multiverse's characters such as Miles Morales, Galactus, the Fantastic Four members, etc., as well as various slates of Capcom properties like Ingrid, Crimson Viper, Dimitri, Lilith, Jin, etc. Cameos like those will be most prominent in the story mode, maybe as NPCs. - The game is to use RE Engine for graphics. (You forgot to mention that) - The DLC characters releases either monthly or bimonthly. There would be 6 DLC pairs, for 12 DLC characters (on top of the base 48 ones), the first 5 pairs of which is as you said. The 6th pair of DLC characters would be Nathan Summers/Cable (X-Men, Marvel newcomer) and Ruby Hearts (Former MvC original, Street Fighter, Capcom veteran). Ruby has movesets from both MvC2 and Street Fighter 5, while Cable plays like... well, the comics are the references to his movesets, actually. (I considered making a grown up Richards of Fantastic Four for the DLC, but realized that he would be overpowered in both gameplay and story given his reality warping powers) - Infinity Stones (from MvC Infinite) would fully return (alongside whatever else you said about the battle system), but with the balancing you mentioned (Soul Stone be no longer OP!) and have the colors from the comics, albeit with MCU colors tint. - The story, on Marvel side, should take cues from both the comics (mainly 616), the Ultimate Universe (1610), the MCU (19999), and a bit of others (such as with cameos and Infinity Stones) above. - The story would have spoilers that explains how the Beyonder (the villain and the boss) was able to get onto the worlds of Capcom instead of just the Marvel verses like originally (in comics and possibly in MCU). Either canonize MvC Infinite in a twisted way that break reality around Capcom games and the rest of Marvel verses (as a "Take That!" to that hated game) through the destruction of the Reality Stone and Sigma, or the Abyss from MvC2 comes into contact with the Beyonder... or simply the Beyonder confronting Ingrid all by himself, exposing her godlike nature. Either way, these are among the ways Capcom worlds can get sucked into Battleworld and laid alongside Marvel places. (Expect the plot devices around both Marvel and Capcom worlds to lead to how the Beyonder even brought in Capcom worlds in the first place) This EPIC MAHVEL game would be named as: "Marvel vs. Capcom: the Secret Wars" Good! 👍
I think Green Goblin is one of the best choices, if you’ve read the comics you know there are plenty of Halloween themed weapons in his arsenal like razor bats, ghost grenades and sticky green cob webs so he is totally the most unique potential character plus he’s the arch nemesis and has the best evil personality.
For the Marvel side (apart from the ones you´ve mentioned), I would add Colossus, Cyclops, Silver Samurai, Omega Red, Iceman, Spiral, Gambit, War Machine and Psylocke. From the Capcom side, I would add Zangief, Sagat, E. Honda, Vega (japanese name Balrog), Balrog (japanese name M. Bison), M. Bison (japanese name Vega), Guile, Ken, Rufus, Sakura, Dan, Blanka, Abel, Captain Commando, Rose, Gen, Dhalsim, Jin Saotome, Cammy, Alex, Dudley, Ibuki and Fei Long. I think it would be really fun.
Thank God he put devolot in the roster. We kinda needed a new character from cyberbots. I mean he did kind of remove Jin from the roster. I don’t care that he wasn’t in a game since marvel versus Capcom two still. Also, I’m just glad that Akira from rival schools is in the roster rival schools needs more love
Yep. I can say the same with Hyo Imawano and Edward Bilstein as for the latter's case, we already had a Darth Vader to use. If Capcom can't use the real Deal as a Guest Star, then just use Sir Bilstein.
And speaking of Guest Stars, I felt like Sora and Artoria/Saber can be the ones who are possible enough to be added for the DLC parts because they're both connected to Marvel and Capcom of sorts.

I don't like the idea of having all 4 MegaMan reps be from the X series, when there's like a dozen MegaMan subseries you can pull from. In my opinion, Ideally each MegaMan rep should be from their own respective subseries, because it would represent the franchise as a whole. If we're keeping it to 4 these are the ones I'd pick: -MegaMan (I don't understand why he's not a mainstay) -Either Vile or Sigma -We can keep Zero, but change his design to the one from the Zero series -Bass.exe, because he's purple I just want a Battlenetwork character more than anything.

The visuals needs to return to comic book look, not the realistic movie graphics they went for. They should use the dragon ball fighterz art style. 3 vs 3 is fine as long as there is plenty characters to pick from.

When I was making my roster, I thought about adding Yukimura, but went with Nohime instead, since she's a "villain" And a gun user, two things the series has a lot of, but would go unrepresented if Yukimura was in her place
I am disappointed that Roll in her TVC style is not in it again. I loved how powerful she was in Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom and now they gave poor Roll a Cold Shoulder because Americans I knew in the community were hating on her from the very beginning.
For Akira, I would love one of her assist to be to just drive her bike across the screen and it acts a massively damaging pop up that could easily lead into air combos.
I have blade Megaman X Dive and Maverick Hunter X with how he played (I've played X Dive with X and X3 version of him) which could give weapons versatility.
agreed on BW, WS, and Thanos. Thanos is so like 5 years ago, phase 1-3 MCU type of character that it’s dumb to keep him around. Widow and Winter Soldier just aren’t unique enough to keep too. Hawkeye at least has the archer type of moveset but i would understand why people want him out, he’s been in two games in a row so i wouldn’t mind it personally if it means another better iconic character could take his spot, Captain Marvel cannot get cut, Marvel is gonna milk tf out of her whether we like her or not. It’s obvious, plus she’s like an iconic female Marvel character now along with Invisible Woman, Storm, Widow, Scarlet Witch, and Rogue.
Magik & Scarlet Witch will lessen the blow of wasting a roster slot on Green Goblin. Also, Akira & Ada Wong will do the same for the inclusion of Vile.

I like the base roster, but I want way more DLC characters. When the games run is over we should have about 120 of them in equal measure. I'm thinking about your 2 at a time plan, with a pair released roughly every 2 months. That would be 72 characters spread out over 6 years, which would put right around the time for a new game.
Instead of Sentinel, I would put in Nimrod. Now he is and Advanced Sentinel from the future. I have him move a little slower, not be as big, have a teleport mechanic, and time rewind ultimate 3 where he would rewind the match back 10 seconds all damage done in that time is voided, and characters are placed back where they were previously. Basically like the last 10 seconds didn't happen.
Solid roster! Except for Date, Ada and Vile, I think all of the DLCs would make it into my roster. Also crazy to think how Blade, Ms Marvel, Leon, Asura and Star lord are fan favorites 😊 I really like the idea of picking oddballs and add them to Mahvel (that's how I got to know Jin, Strider, Hayato and Amaterasu) but I think I got some characters nobody thought of before: Capcom: Nilin from "Remember me" G. Button layout should be like Mortal Kombat and Injustice. Returning characters should be Jean Grey/Phoenix/Dark Phoenix, Psylocke, Jill Valentine, Akuma/Shin Akuma/Oni, and Cammy. New characters should be Elektra, Ada Wong, Lady Deathstrike, Scarlet Witch, and Loki/Lady Loki.
For my ideas, I felt like Proxima Midnight, Hypno Hustler, Hyo Imawano and Splash Woman can be a given. For Splash Woman's case, I felt like we got a Female Robot Master who can fight very well in person. For myself, I would trade Frank West for Rock Light/Classic Mega Man as well, for the love of Ayaka Fukuhara and Benjamin Diskin, please bring him back or alternatively, bring on Marino from Command Mission.
Hyo and Splash Woman I don’t see happening I’m not against it but if Rival Schools got a character besides Akira it probably be Batsu or Hyo’s brother Kyosuke and if we got a Robot Master it probably be Gutsman and Cutman because Capcom love these 2 mainly Gutsman and if we got a female Megaman character it probably be Tron or a version of Roll. Also no if a Classic Megaman returns then X has to go.
Only two remaining bosses right after the Beyonder missing from this potential roster. And that is "Dark Phoenix" & Oni from Super Street Fighter 4 or should I say "Oni Phoenix"!
I have faith in Capcom again If they show as much dedication in MvC4 that they did to SF6, we'll have an insane game ! And I hope they'll make a crazy fun game with Xfactor and everything.. but some mode or lobbies where Xfactor is disabled, and stuff like that... for every taste ! The more options available to the players, the better the game will be.
Cyclops, storm and gambit gotta return. Hell maybe even cable. Also I think daredevil would be pretty cool as well as maybe silver surfer since they actually wanted to put him in the original game. We also need a f4 character I think invisible women would be cool. Not a bad list though. Also ima Ken guy so I would love him in the game on the capcom side and Demetrius from darkstalkers.
I was thinking about adding her in the roster I was making, but since I had already added Loki and Nina as magic staff users, I thought it'd be better to go with Molly as the Runaways character. Do you think there's a way to make Nico stand out despite other characters like her already being playable?
Hopefully by then we can have a remake or updated version of MVC2 having every single characters stage, song, ending, modes from Capcom VS SNK 2, etc in it. Or just have a simple Marvel Vs Capcom Collection from Children Of The Atom through MVC2 with some additions like balances.
Im so excited but scared at the same time they could f it up once again. Back in the day, DbFz knocked out of the park and was truly a love letter to fans, thats what i would want for MvC4, treat us with love and care for fans. Personally i dislike 3d games and thats where dbfz made magic for me making it look like real anime, id like a "drawing" style, maybe cellshading comics back again or id even accept sprites but 3d makes it so meh and kinda soulless
Apecially when there are other 3 options beyond Mr. Fantastic, and that's only the main characters, they could pull characters from wilder storylines such as Impossible Man or Crystalis
Dropping all of the Fantastic Four because of Ms. Marvel shows a lack of understanding of these characters, and imagination. It would be like choosing between either Hulk and Venom because they're both big guys. Kamala and Reed could both function properly from the mid-range, however one wishes to push in and the other wishes to push out. Ms. Marvel would use her above-average range to start simple and effective BnB combos from a distance most characters can't, making her very forgiving on spacing and as such, very easy to pick up for less experienced players. Think about how you would want Luffy to play in a One Piece FighterZ and there's your Kamala. Meanwhile, Reed would want to fight from the mid-to-long-range to dictate the pace of the match, putting down tech to hinder the opponent or support himself and his allies, and then scoop the opponent with a long-range command grab if they get complacent or predictable. You know Kan-Ra from KI? There's your Mr. Fantastic. The other three are similarly easy to figure out. Give Johnny weak normals on the ground but exceptional normals in the air, as well as above-average specials, supers and assists. Give him below-average health to compensate for making him hard to catch. Ben is straight forward. He has to work to get in, but once he gets in he can harass with plus frames that deal good chip-damage. Give him a bunch of hitgrabs, counters, a command grab and a slow projectile to show that he fights more with his brain than the other big guys in the roster. Allow him to throw people up, left or right with his hitgrabs, effectively making him very compatible with most assists, as a sign of how generally loved and respected he is by the superhero community in canon. Sue, I mean, take your pick. She's the ultimate all-arounder. Do what you want with her, the sky is the limit. Every member of the Fantastic Four is too damn cool and important to have been left out of every Marvel vs Capcom game. The next game needs to rectify that with no less than all four members playable, and preferably a stage to go along with them. The Baxter Building is an obvious answer, but I think the Council of Reeds would make for a super fun background. Maybe even combine it with the council of Weskers for some crossover fun.

I've got my own ideas for an MVC roster and I won't say them all but one thing I think is why hasn't Rose been in one of these games. Any of these games. Seriously none of them, for real? Rose fits in snugly as a plot elements and her gameplay is pretty good for it, too. It's not like I'm asking for Vega. But also I am asking for Vega. Aka Bison. Aka Dictator. One the one hand I get it, you don't want too many street fighters in there (even though i'm already asking for two and with the obligatory Chun Li and Ryu that's four) but the series needs villains and Bison is an Icon. Like...nobody's gonna be baffled that Bison is in this game. One more and final thing...bring back Soul Eraser. Bring back Soul Eraser somehow. Make is a big flashy Cinematic Super if you must just bring back Soul Eraser. Come on!
I'm still so salty that MvCI used Chris and T-virus AGAIN especially when the Re2 remake has been announced for 2 years at this point. Leon and Mr. X would've been perfect additions to the series. that's on top of not having Akuma THE FIRST CAPCOM CHARACTER TO CROSS OVER! It's downright disrespectful.
For the active switch/assist mechanic for MvC4, they could do something like what Dragon Ball Fighterz or PR Battle for the Grid did like switching out during a combo or pressing the assist button again to switch
I'm gonna be honest, I've been more of a DC fan due to the animated stuff they had on Cartoon Network back in the day, so my knowledge of Marvel isn't that great. I also have never played any MvC games. Still wouldn't mind seeing something like this see the light of day. As far as characters go, based on my limited knowledge of Marvel, the ones I'd want to see as playable on the Marvel side (that you didn't already talk about) would be the returns of Phoenix and M.O.D.O.K., with Dark Phoenix possibly being a boss, as well as the additions of Nightcrawler (mainly because I have a friend from high school who has him as his favorite X-Men character, though it helps he's had his own series), Miles Morales (who would need something to differentiate him from Peter), Doc Ock and, as a joke character, Howard the Duck. This is all less about gameplay or balance and more about who I think would be interesting to have in there. Now Capcom, on the other hand, I'm much more familiar with. With Mega Man 11 having released since MvCU, it only makes sense to bring back the original Mega Man and Roll, along with bringing in Dr. Wily in one of his capsules (and make him finally interact with Zero!) and having the Yellow Devil be a boss. The other three Capcom slots would be the returns of Viewtiful Joe and M. Bison, and either bring back Ammy as well or add in Chibiterasu (with Kuni in his moveset like with Groot for Rocket Raccoon).
I love that the internet have collectively (as well as each person individually) agreed that if there is ever a new Marvel vs Capcom, it will be called Marvel vs Capcom 4.
Umm hello I get Akuma and ryu but where is ken. All these mystical characters for capcom when street fighter made capcom. Put ass many as you want but my for capcom as a must would be .. ken . Ryu. Chun li. And Akuma. I would add more but 4 from street fighter seems decent
I wasn't that much of a Rocket fan i would rather replace him with Hyperion, give that guy some screen time. why is it that creators only know one mega man series, the X series, you know there is like 7.5 series that is 6 and a half other series to pull from. And i would replace Arthur with Amingo... Mind you my Marvel vs Capcom 4 wishlist is 49 characters for each side
How popular is Hyperion plus Rocket also is fan favorite so he’s most likely stay and 96 roster that’s not happening unless recycle assets which is hard to say since it’s been a while.

Infinite's roster was hurt by mostly who they cut, most of the additions like Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Megaman X were great, as was the returning Venom, but then you got some weird ones like Gamora, Black Widow and Winter Soldier who were all in solely for that MCU synergy, and most of the newcomers couldn't fit the massive holes left by the cuts like the X-Men
Also they need to bring in Franziska Von Karma, I'm still salty she was supposed to be in TvC but never went through

Batsu (from Rival School) if anyone here played Marvel vs Tatsunoku you'd know that Batsu had great combos when doing the fire special that takes the opponent to the sky & you can continue the combo on the air & finished it with the other special (kinda like Ryu's Hadoken).
Unlike the Project X Zone 3 concept that I found lacking in overall hypothetical scale, I nigh completely agree with your concept for the new and better MvC, with only a few changes as following:
- There would be cameos of the Marvel multiverse's characters such as Miles Morales, Galactus, the Fantastic Four members, etc., as well as various slates of Capcom properties like Ingrid, Crimson Viper, Dimitri, Lilith, Jin, etc. Cameos like those will be most prominent in the story mode, maybe as NPCs.
- The game is to use RE Engine for graphics. (You forgot to mention that)
- The DLC characters releases either monthly or bimonthly. There would be 6 DLC pairs, for 12 DLC characters (on top of the base 48 ones), the first 5 pairs of which is as you said. The 6th pair of DLC characters would be Nathan Summers/Cable (X-Men, Marvel newcomer) and Ruby Hearts (Former MvC original, Street Fighter, Capcom veteran). Ruby has movesets from both MvC2 and Street Fighter 5, while Cable plays like... well, the comics are the references to his movesets, actually. (I considered making a grown up Richards of Fantastic Four for the DLC, but realized that he would be overpowered in both gameplay and story given his reality warping powers)
- Infinity Stones (from MvC Infinite) would fully return (alongside whatever else you said about the battle system), but with the balancing you mentioned (Soul Stone be no longer OP!) and have the colors from the comics, albeit with MCU colors tint.
- The story, on Marvel side, should take cues from both the comics (mainly 616), the Ultimate Universe (1610), the MCU (19999), and a bit of others (such as with cameos and Infinity Stones) above.
- The story would have spoilers that explains how the Beyonder (the villain and the boss) was able to get onto the worlds of Capcom instead of just the Marvel verses like originally (in comics and possibly in MCU). Either canonize MvC Infinite in a twisted way that break reality around Capcom games and the rest of Marvel verses (as a "Take That!" to that hated game) through the destruction of the Reality Stone and Sigma, or the Abyss from MvC2 comes into contact with the Beyonder... or simply the Beyonder confronting Ingrid all by himself, exposing her godlike nature. Either way, these are among the ways Capcom worlds can get sucked into Battleworld and laid alongside Marvel places. (Expect the plot devices around both Marvel and Capcom worlds to lead to how the Beyonder even brought in Capcom worlds in the first place)
This EPIC MAHVEL game would be named as: "Marvel vs. Capcom: the Secret Wars"

I think Green Goblin is one of the best choices, if you’ve read the comics you know there are plenty of Halloween themed weapons in his arsenal like razor bats, ghost grenades and sticky green cob webs so he is totally the most unique potential character plus he’s the arch nemesis and has the best evil personality.
I could picture giving green goblin color swaps being based on other goblins : Hobgoblin, Red Gobling, Black Gobling etcs.
We need some Power Stone character's in Marvel Vs Capcom because they never had a chance.
For the Marvel side (apart from the ones you´ve mentioned), I would add Colossus, Cyclops, Silver Samurai, Omega Red, Iceman, Spiral, Gambit, War Machine and Psylocke. From the Capcom side, I would add Zangief, Sagat, E. Honda, Vega (japanese name Balrog), Balrog (japanese name M. Bison), M. Bison (japanese name Vega), Guile, Ken, Rufus, Sakura, Dan, Blanka, Abel, Captain Commando, Rose, Gen, Dhalsim, Jin Saotome, Cammy, Alex, Dudley, Ibuki and Fei Long. I think it would be really fun.

Thank God he put devolot in the roster. We kinda needed a new character from cyberbots. I mean he did kind of remove Jin from the roster. I don’t care that he wasn’t in a game since marvel versus Capcom two still.

Yep. I can say the same with Hyo Imawano and Edward Bilstein as for the latter's case, we already had a Darth Vader to use. If Capcom can't use the real Deal as a Guest Star, then just use Sir Bilstein.
And speaking of Guest Stars, I felt like Sora and Artoria/Saber can be the ones who are possible enough to be added for the DLC parts because they're both connected to Marvel and Capcom of sorts.

I don't like the idea of having all 4 MegaMan reps be from the X series, when there's like a dozen MegaMan subseries you can pull from. In my opinion, Ideally each MegaMan rep should be from their own respective subseries, because it would represent the franchise as a whole.

-MegaMan (I don't understand why he's not a mainstay)
-Either Vile or Sigma
-We can keep Zero, but change his design to the one from the Zero series

The visuals needs to return to comic book look, not the realistic movie graphics they went for. They should use the dragon ball fighterz art style. 3 vs 3 is fine as long as there is plenty characters to pick from.

I am disappointed that Roll in her TVC style is not in it again. I loved how powerful she was in Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom and now they gave poor Roll a Cold Shoulder because Americans I knew in the community were hating on her from the very beginning.

For Akira, I would love one of her assist to be to just drive her bike across the screen and it acts a massively damaging pop up that could easily lead into air combos.

I have blade Megaman X Dive and Maverick Hunter X with how he played (I've played X Dive with X and X3 version of him) which could give weapons versatility.

agreed on BW, WS, and Thanos. Thanos is so like 5 years ago, phase 1-3 MCU type of character that it’s dumb to keep him around. Widow and Winter Soldier just aren’t unique enough to keep too. Hawkeye at least has the archer type of moveset but i would understand why people want him out, he’s been in two games in a row so i wouldn’t mind it personally if it means another better iconic character could take his spot, Captain Marvel cannot get cut, Marvel is gonna milk tf out of her whether we like her or not. It’s obvious, plus she’s like an iconic female Marvel character now along with Invisible Woman, Storm, Widow, Scarlet Witch, and Rogue.
Magik & Scarlet Witch will lessen the blow of wasting a roster slot on Green Goblin.
Also, Akira & Ada Wong will do the same for the inclusion of Vile.

I like the base roster, but I want way more DLC characters. When the games run is over we should have about 120 of them in equal measure. I'm thinking about your 2 at a time plan, with a pair released roughly every 2 months. That would be 72 characters spread out over 6 years, which would put right around the time for a new game.
Green goblin would be a highly mobile trap/zoner. If done right it would be amazing.
Instead of Sentinel, I would put in Nimrod. Now he is and Advanced Sentinel from the future. I have him move a little slower, not be as big, have a teleport mechanic, and time rewind ultimate 3 where he would rewind the match back 10 seconds all damage done in that time is voided, and characters are placed back where they were previously. Basically like the last 10 seconds didn't happen.

Hyo and Splash Woman I don’t see happening I’m not against it but if Rival Schools got a character besides Akira it probably be Batsu or Hyo’s brother Kyosuke and if we got a Robot Master it probably be Gutsman and Cutman because Capcom love these 2 mainly Gutsman and if we got a female Megaman character it probably be Tron or a version of Roll. Also no if a Classic Megaman returns then X has to go.

Back in the day, DbFz knocked out of the park and was truly a love letter to fans, thats what i would want for MvC4, treat us with love and care for fans. Personally i dislike 3d games and thats where dbfz made magic for me making it look like real anime, id like a "drawing" style, maybe cellshading comics back again or id even accept sprites but 3d makes it so meh and kinda soulless

Dropping all of the Fantastic Four because of Ms. Marvel shows a lack of understanding of these characters, and imagination. It would be like choosing between either Hulk and Venom because they're both big guys.
Kamala and Reed could both function properly from the mid-range, however one wishes to push in and the other wishes to push out.
Ms. Marvel would use her above-average range to start simple and effective BnB combos from a distance most characters can't, making her very forgiving on spacing and as such, very easy to pick up for less experienced players. Think about how you would want Luffy to play in a One Piece FighterZ and there's your Kamala.
Meanwhile, Reed would want to fight from the mid-to-long-range to dictate the pace of the match, putting down tech to hinder the opponent or support himself and his allies, and then scoop the opponent with a long-range command grab if they get complacent or predictable. You know Kan-Ra from KI? There's your Mr. Fantastic.
The other three are similarly easy to figure out. Give Johnny weak normals on the ground but exceptional normals in the air, as well as above-average specials, supers and assists. Give him below-average health to compensate for making him hard to catch.
Ben is straight forward. He has to work to get in, but once he gets in he can harass with plus frames that deal good chip-damage. Give him a bunch of hitgrabs, counters, a command grab and a slow projectile to show that he fights more with his brain than the other big guys in the roster. Allow him to throw people up, left or right with his hitgrabs, effectively making him very compatible with most assists, as a sign of how generally loved and respected he is by the superhero community in canon.
Sue, I mean, take your pick. She's the ultimate all-arounder. Do what you want with her, the sky is the limit.
Every member of the Fantastic Four is too damn cool and important to have been left out of every Marvel vs Capcom game. The next game needs to rectify that with no less than all four members playable, and preferably a stage to go along with them. The Baxter Building is an obvious answer, but I think the Council of Reeds would make for a super fun background. Maybe even combine it with the council of Weskers for some crossover fun.

I've got my own ideas for an MVC roster and I won't say them all but one thing I think is why hasn't Rose been in one of these games. Any of these games. Seriously none of them, for real?
Rose fits in snugly as a plot elements and her gameplay is pretty good for it, too. It's not like I'm asking for Vega.
But also I am asking for Vega. Aka Bison. Aka Dictator. One the one hand I get it, you don't want too many street fighters in there (even though i'm already asking for two and with the obligatory Chun Li and Ryu that's four) but the series needs villains and Bison is an Icon. Like...nobody's gonna be baffled that Bison is in this game.
One more and final thing...bring back Soul Eraser. Bring back Soul Eraser somehow. Make is a big flashy Cinematic Super if you must just bring back Soul Eraser. Come on!

I'm still so salty that MvCI used Chris and T-virus AGAIN especially when the Re2 remake has been announced for 2 years at this point. Leon and Mr. X would've been perfect additions to the series. that's on top of not having Akuma THE FIRST CAPCOM CHARACTER TO CROSS OVER! It's downright disrespectful.
I really would have liked Daredevil and at least 1 Fantastic Four.
The idea for the story mode is great as well as the roster but my only complain would be the lack of any fantastic 4 representation

For the active switch/assist mechanic for MvC4, they could do something like what Dragon Ball Fighterz or PR Battle for the Grid did like switching out during a combo or pressing the assist button again to switch
I'm gonna be honest, I've been more of a DC fan due to the animated stuff they had on Cartoon Network back in the day, so my knowledge of Marvel isn't that great. I also have never played any MvC games. Still wouldn't mind seeing something like this see the light of day.
As far as characters go, based on my limited knowledge of Marvel, the ones I'd want to see as playable on the Marvel side (that you didn't already talk about) would be the returns of Phoenix and M.O.D.O.K., with Dark Phoenix possibly being a boss, as well as the additions of Nightcrawler (mainly because I have a friend from high school who has him as his favorite X-Men character, though it helps he's had his own series), Miles Morales (who would need something to differentiate him from Peter), Doc Ock and, as a joke character, Howard the Duck. This is all less about gameplay or balance and more about who I think would be interesting to have in there.
Now Capcom, on the other hand, I'm much more familiar with. With Mega Man 11 having released since MvCU, it only makes sense to bring back the original Mega Man and Roll, along with bringing in Dr. Wily in one of his capsules (and make him finally interact with Zero!) and having the Yellow Devil be a boss. The other three Capcom slots would be the returns of Viewtiful Joe and M. Bison, and either bring back Ammy as well or add in Chibiterasu (with Kuni in his moveset like with Groot for Rocket Raccoon).
I love that the internet have collectively (as well as each person individually) agreed that if there is ever a new Marvel vs Capcom, it will be called Marvel vs Capcom 4.

Umm hello I get Akuma and ryu but where is ken. All these mystical characters for capcom when street fighter made capcom. Put ass many as you want but my for capcom as a must would be .. ken . Ryu. Chun li. And Akuma.

How popular is Hyperion plus Rocket also is fan favorite so he’s most likely stay and 96 roster that’s not happening unless recycle assets which is hard to say since it’s been a while.
@@davidkerr7350 my image of Hyperion is tainted due to how he was portrayed in Avenger Assemble and Sam Alexander "Nova" in Ultimate Spiderman cartoon which gave me (and newcomers to the characters) a bad first impression on the character (like how Fishmonger was with Betty Ross in Ultimate avengers 1 & 2(which is based on her Ultimate counterpart))
