Nice video. I have the 2024 RX and the dealer showed this feature with my son in the car and he went crazy and said we had to buy the car just for the self park. He was also telling everyone he met we have a car that parks itself 😂. With that said I have only tried it twice and took over once because there is too much traffic in the parking lot and the system is too slow. But if I get more opportunity to use it, I would try just because I paid for it.
i have 4 week old 2024 NX hybrid luxury with advanced park. I've had some fun with it, but way too slow in some situations as you said. Very nice vid showing all aspects of the feature. Could you recommend or make vid with all aspects of ADAPTIVE Navigation, especially in stop and go traffic. I need a few tips and tricks to be successful. thanks
glad you enjoyed the vid! I'll likely have something to say about the adaptive cruise/lane tracing in my long term review sometime early next year but in the mean time hope this video may help th-cam.com/video/dfEtv6fCIOI/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=CarswithSonduren
I just got my NX350h about 1 month ago and is my 1st suv. I have driven sedans my entire life. So visibility and parking are a bit difficult until I get used to it. I thought that it helped me get into a tight spot in a parking lot. As well as getting out. The spots were extremely tight. And you know that when you have a brand new vehicle, the last thing you want to do is ding or scratch it.
Nice and informative video! I have the advanced park and have only used the reverse in parking but have had a number of fails in some narrow parking garages here in Japan. I’ve yet to try parallel parking as there aren’t many opportunities to do so here. If there are many cars trying to get in or out, I normally park it myself as it’s faster.
that's a very interesting aspect I did think about the parking space size but where I live almost all the spots are pretty oversized lol couldn't find many tight spaces. Did you have all the default settings? detect range and road width usage particularly, both on standard?
@@YBrianL Yes, I have the settings on the default standard. I never thought to adjust them but may try that the next time I park in a narrow parking garage. I’ve been doing the parking bit on my own as it’s a little quicker than using advanced parking. Thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks for spending some time talking about the Registered Parking Space, not many people even include that when talking about self parking in the Lexus
I have a tight city garage that I park in. I’ve been manually backing into it and that is fine (using the great rear view side mirrors!) but was wondering if the advanced park function can deal with a garage entry or does it only deal with parking lines in a parking lot. Thank you!
For the most part the system is definitely hunting for parking lines as reference but it does seem to understand context in scenarios like parallel parking without lines. I can actually advance park front/back in onto driveway as well as long as there's no pedestrian sidewalk between the driveway and the road. But parking into a covered garage i think would not work, at least i have not been able to find any starting position that would allow the advanced park to detect the spot inside the garage.
Thank you so much for your videos! I've watched many so far on the NX but yours are the first to really address everyday concerns like mine. I actually happen to have a parking spot precisely with that imaginary corner in the front right 😅 However I can't park too far on the left as there is a neighbour there, so I have to park at a slight angle. So my question is, do those two arrows you didn't use allow you to angle the registered parking spot?
@@YBrianL fantastic, thank you so much! I'm looking to replace my previous gen NX. I have been really impressed with the smart and flattering GV70, but it seems Lexus is still in the race too. Please keep the videos coming!
yep foot off the brake/gas then it'll move/turn/shift all by itself. You can still brake yourself to slow the car or stop it completely if you feel uncomfortable though.
appreciate your patience! currently in production but will take a while as work is busy. Quick summary though the noise is absolutely night and day since I switched from 20" RF to 18" michelin X-ice. Using Decibel X app in iPhone 12, comparing the same exact stretch of road at 100km/h for about 30s, RF averaged 72 dB while the michelins averaged 62 dB. The size mayyy have made a small difference but it should mostly be from the tire choice.
This is child's play comparing to the latest Huawei's latest underground garage self-parking car. I've had this type of pre-historic parking feature in my 2015 Ford Escape.
Geez, just setting up to park looks like a lot of work. Better off just parking it yourself, lol. I think if you have the 360 view, you should be fine, since can see the location of your car, relative to the lines.
I showed the whole back end setup just to clarify all the customization but really I was trying to say the default settings work very well (do change speed to fast though). Do you think the actual parking operation / sequence still takes way too long?
Well done. Lexus reps should see this presentation.
Most comprehensive test of this feature. Super helpful too for similar spec Toyota cars like the new prius.
Glad it was helpful!

Great video, really informative, thank you.

yea advanced park or not, even just the cameras and parking sensors really makes parking this car much easier
Brian an outstanding review. Simple and easy to follow. Truly grateful. Greetings from Austria
Thank you! I have a Lexus RZ with rhis feature and have had some hilarious fails so far due to not understanding how it worked

10/10 thumbnail.
thanks for the video, planning on getting this car in a few weeks, but no way would I ever use park assist lol
I actually really like playing around with it lol there's a certain satisfaction to it, but regardless, I know you'll enjoy your car for sure!
11:10 The spot was a little tight, but that was so far from the curb compared to other cars, I wouldn't say that is really good.

glad you found it helpful! yep you can customize the angle as well if you need to park at an odd angle

Wondering how well it would work in a mall parking lot a couple of days before Christmas! 🤔
When it’s parking what do you do with your foot do you take your foot off the break????just leave it in drive? That is awesome that it can do that

Hello, Sir. I’m still waiting for a video about winter tires non runflats and how quite they are compare to runflats all season OEM stock ones

Do you think the system would work at all in a home garage?
nope wont work in a home garage lol
👍👍👍👍👍
Will this feature work in underground parking?
Yep it should as long as there are parking lines
This is child's play comparing to the latest Huawei's latest underground garage self-parking car. I've had this type of pre-historic parking feature in my 2015 Ford Escape.
lol this should be a standard feature if u live in richmond bc
I love it how they want us to pay more to drive less of the car.
Not all of us can park perfectly especially between 2 cars😂

Koreans already Kicked Toyota's and Honda's ass with Better Tech
Boy! Chrysler’s system is so much simpler! It’s great. I’m not sure I’ll ever bother with this Lexux system.
Watching ur video made me nervous
LOL I was at first but it's proven itself.....that said it's still best to hover your foot over the brakes just in case
All these steps... all this time.. lol.. Park it yourself and save the $.
tbh amount of time and programming i would rather park the car myself -_-
