Just picked up a 2024 RX350h a few weeks ago and this video is super helpful! Much easier to follow than reading the manual. Please keep doing these tutorials!
Thank you for such great feedback!! Do you have any suggestions for tutorials? I was thinking maybe apple carplay?
@@PerformanceLexusNiagara Yes that would be helpful too! Can you also go over vehicle settings like changing the colours of the ambient light, that sort of thing?
Hi Dustin, I also just pick up my RX 350h last weekend and I find this tutorial very helpful. Could you please explain more in detail how to operate the new adaptive cruise control? Thank you
Dude, NO ONE mentioned the control customization in their TX reviews. They just complained that the drive modes are in an on-screen menu, when you can put it right on the steering wheel - even better than a console button! Brilliant walkthrough, Dustin. Cheers.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad I could help!
LOVE the videos…they really help! I love all the options added to the rx350. As I get more comfortable with my car I come back and rewatch your videos…they are very informative!
Thank you for this wonderful video!
Well explained, answered most of my questions.
Great job Dustin...so much value in these videos. My new NX 350h should arrive in 2-3 month
Thank you Dustin! I own a Lexus RZ450e and haven't done much with this, but after viewing this video, I want to go "play" with this now. If I understand it correctly, all the customization is done on page two on both sides of the steering wheel.
Dustin, a review of the Advance Parking feature would be nice (showing some real-world usage)... great work on your videos!
Just ordered a RX350 Luxury. Thanks for info
How/where can I see mpg for a tak of gas? So, since the last fill up.
Please do a video about the automatic vipers front and rear
Thats an awesome feature
I could see how this would be confusing. As a tech person myself I think it’s great, thank you for the explanation!
Excellent. Much better than trying to use owners manual
My wife just bought a 2024 NX350h and although I am somewhat tech minded (Apple computers specifically), this car is like trying to learn the purpose & functions of all the gauges, dials, switches and levers inside the cabin of a Boeing 737.........well maybe even MORE confusing than the cockpit of a Boeing 737 because the "gadgets" inside a 737 are not "multi-functional". (I told my wife to buy a 1953 Ford but she wouldn't listen........) Thank you Dustin for making such an informative, straight forward and thorough tutorial video. "Saved our marriage" - lol
I love your analogies and the comment about saving your marriage! LOL thanks again!!
wonderful...so the right side HUD steering wheel control has an option for Avg Speed and Elapsed time.....I like that, but on the multifunction display, Elapsed time is not show, instead "Total"Time" is shown. Total time is the cumulative hours of driving since last trip reset, it is not trip "Elapsed Time".....this is inconsistent. How can I get the multi information display to read Elapsed time consistent with the HUD display? Thank you.....I can not figure this out.
review first complete display set up for 2024 RX F-sport 350
Yes it’s gonna take some time! Hope to get mines this month!
Well done Dustin! All Lexus reps should study this video. Do you know how to bring up the on going trip mpg from the steering wheel?
Thank you so much!!! Hmm great question, I think it does vary a bit between the models, I was driving a TX recently and noticed I could get to the MPG on one of the customizable screen presets
Can you show us how to reset the Dri er Monitor?
Hi Dustin. Can you demonstrate how you can seek to only your saved or favorites Sirius stations using the touch pad? Without mixing in stations you don't want to hear?
How do you turn off the smart touch on the buttons? It’s pretty annoying to press twice/put my thumb on the button for a second to activate the buttons.
One of my friends said that with adaptive cruise control, when the speed limit would change on the road, it should be adapted automatically. Is that correct?
Thanks for the great video. You are the reason I even looked at lexus. Too bad local dealers just expect customer walk in a beg for a car. This must be a toyota training technique
Sorry to hear about your local dealer! Are you in Canada by any chance?
My car doesn’t have the vehicle customization option in my settings😢
Hi, what about PLUS and MINUS metallic handles? What are they for?
Changing gears.
I have a brand new 2024 Lexus NX hybrid. Since the beginning, I’ve noticed that the gas gauge often does not indicate that I have just filled the tank. It most often happens if the tank is 1/2 full or higher when I get gas. The gas gauge does not respond (sometimes for days), I have now brought the car back to Lexus four times, and they tell me there is nothing wrong with the car. Your advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
So the first time of me hearing this was actually just last week on a 2023 NX Hybrid. We couldn't find a solution but the guest noticed a "Gurgling sound" when filling it with gas, as almost if there wasn't any venting happening. His best guess was that there's air in the gas tank, but we couldn't find any Techincal Service Bulletins yet. I will for sure come back to this comment if we find a solution!
Will this show up on my upcoming 2024 ES300h Ultra Luxury?
Actually the ES hasn't switched over to this system yet!
Thanks for your reply. I'm still looking forward to my ES.@@PerformanceLexusNiagara
Didn't help with the cruise control issue. Can't figure it out. Checking in manual now.. (after years( 2004) with an 04' lexus 350) its totally different ans not great for those not tech savvy
I don't use the adaptive mode, but just cruise control, distance control OFF and then you can set it in a calssic way. If you don't have the distance control off, then the vehicle slows down if the vehicle in front of you is slow.
Thanks for all the Lexus videos. I recently purchased a TX 350. How can you turn the dinging off when someone unbuckles their seatbelt?
Same question. That’s a little bit annoying.
Congrats on the TX! Ahhhh I don't think there is a way to turn that off. UNLESS it's in the dealer settings. If you can, you should ask your local Lexus dealer to plug in and go through the personalizable options on your first service! Otherwise I haven't been able to figure it out on the one I've been driving
@@PerformanceLexusNiagara Gotcha. Thanks for the reply.
I am SO confused!
This is too complicated. One button should control one thing on the steering wheel, period. If the designers start feeling like they need to double up controls, it means they've made incorrect design choices.
Problem is that cars have more and more features, so you need a way to control them. It's not anymore just change station and volume 😀 This designs lets you use it "in old way" if you prefer (just do nothing) and also be customisable to everyones needs. It's quite nice design, specially due to fact that you see everything in HUD so you are not distracted at all. It's 100x better than burying those controls inside main entertainment screen - then it's crazy annoying and hard to use.
If you don't like it then you probably don't like HUD, so don't buy version with HUD😀 Simple.
If you're reading this Toyota, the only thing "advanced" about these steering wheel controls is the level of distraction, annoyance and hatred the driver has when using them. It's the worst design since the mouse and trackpad infotainment. Anyone can learn them - but we shouldn't have to; they're stupid.
That's fine, we can't all understand good design. @@CasperA-nb5pp
Not sure why stupid? This way you have shortcuts as you want them (plus always can change it). With 'fixed' buttons you have a certain way and if you don't like it then nothing you can do about it.
Once you set it as you like it you can treat it as old way with fixed buttons. You can also summary it other way. Treat it as fixed buttons as in old design and then you don't have to do anything 😀 Only difference is that these buttons are touch not hard press, but this is not a big deal.
Maybe not as atrocious an idea as I thought they were.
What a terrible feature.
