    Out of all the artists we lost in 2016, for me, losing George hurt the most.

    Yeah, he does have a great voice...speaking and of course singing. And his British accent is just so sexy and irresistible! He really was the man with the golden voice ! And then of course the talent that wouldn't quit until his last days. So sad that he left this earth period, but especially prematurely because he was only in his early 50's. That's really the biggest tragedy. A life cut short with so much talent and creativity yet to be expressed, I'm sure. I definitely wish he would of written that life story he mentions here. It would have been fascinating reading, I'm sure ! George was my favorite "Lefty poof" to quote George himself !Love it when he said that ! I love that he was a Lefty and that he stood up for his political beliefs during the last decade or so of his life.
    Finally, it's both eerie and especially sad, to think that this interview was in 2007 and George had less than ten years left of his life. That's a shame. I still miss him like a brother that he could have been. We were born in the same year. Peaceful rest to you, dear George, and thanks so much for the beautiful music.

    He did co-write a book called, "George Michael: Bare" by George Michael and Tony Parsons. While it only goes up to his life until the "Listen With Prejudice" album, it was extremely insightful. It is available online for free.
    In his last interview, he gave Kirsty Young an amazing account of his life. It is called, "Red Line Interview."

    • @LeeThrough
      @LeeThrough หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The Red Line Interview is really so incredible; I couldn't listen to it for years after he died given he did that interview just weeks before his death. When I did finally bring myself to listen to it, I cried like crazy - you can hear how weak his voice was - one of the things he said that really struck me was that - finally - at that age (53) he was able to look back and say "I really was gorgeous back then" - all those years of his not being comfortable with his physical self and admitted insecurities - he did finally see what the rest of us all saw - he was gorgeous and I hope he also knew we all knew how special, smart, unique, kind he was. I just so hope he knew that we did know....💔

    • @CriticalThinking-ql2hh
      @CriticalThinking-ql2hh หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LeeThrough I agree with you, and we lost him way too young.
      And yes, his voice was extremely weak, I could not believe it was actually him. But I am glad that he was finally able to address some of the things that we wanted to know. And he seemed like he was at peace and was working on new music.
      But sadly, decades of self-destruction took him away from us.

    It's a shame he didn't eventually write that book if I'm not mistaken because a lot happened in his life during the years after his first book and we would have loved to have his insight on those events and his general outtake on life. But thank you anyway for posting this interview. After viewing practically all that there is to see and hear about GM here on TH-cam, these posts come as a very nice surprise. A big Part of the story missing the early songs in the eighties the songs had a deeper meaning to them one subject to the songs I think is sad alot of fans don't no the missing part I think he wanted to speak about it in later years in interviews it shows when you wactc some of them. When i read George's old Auto books the missing Part is in their i think is sad some fans are not aware George's music will live on in Generations to come he will be missed

      Could it be because he broke up with Kenny at 2008?

    • @PatriciaMoreno-ff8pr
      @PatriciaMoreno-ff8pr 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@fidanbakirova2284 That definitely sounds like that could have been the cause, given that that was a long term relationship for George that was probably the most intense for him since the one with Anselmo in the 90's. He even wrote a very sad song about the split with Kenny that he performed during the last period of his life during his Symphonica tour. George was eternally a very sensitive, emotional person and things hit him especially hard, particularily interactions with people that took a turn for the worse, whether in his personal life or his professional dealings. I feel him ! I know what it's like to be extra or overly sensitive, as some would probably call it. But for those of us who are that way, it's just our natural way to be. It also makes for some great creative artists, and George Michael was proof positive of that !

    He always spoke of being just in his 40s as being older than most people think of your 40s. His speaking voice changed so much over the years - I know most of our voices do change as the years go by but he had said in interviews and the smoking of cigarettes and weed (of which he was doing a lot of) had impacted his speaking voice. It's just so striking hearing his interviews when he was around 30 years old to this one at 43 - but, of course, still a beautiful voice at whatever register. I so wish he had been able to find peace and able to manage his life long depression with an effective healthy treatment, not always easy to find for oneself - I just wish he had. ❤

      @@shininglightjoi6627 I think he was more sad than happy during his relatively short life unfortunately. He did go through pretty hard times with his lover's death, then his mother's death in a short span of years. And though many of us suffer deaths of loved ones, George was one of those people who was especially sensitive and emorional. I believe people like that suffer more than others do because they feel it more deeply and intensely. The consequence of this is that it also takes them a lot longer to recover and try to move on with their life. So it's a greater suffering and a longer suffering. People who aren't like this can't see or understand how others can be devasted or "put out of business" emotionally and physically for long periods of time. But they can.

    • @rosemiller2990
      @rosemiller2990 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It’s sad to me that people think he was a tortured soul. I guess they gather or come to that conclusion because of all the tabloid crap. I never believed the tabloids they just write things to make money. I’m not saying George didn’t have his downs like all of us do in life. But I think he also had a beautiful life with great friends and family and the charities that he took care of meant a lot to him. He also loved his music and was very proud of what he wrote and composed.Personally I think, we will never know for sure, if he would have fully regained his health again after the bout with pneumonia. Perhaps the damage it did to his lungs and having to take steroids to keep the inflammation at bay, caused the change in him. I’m sure he hurt for not having a loving trusting partner in his life, but I think he did the best he could. Being a George fan I know he would not want to be remembered as a tortured soul. I am grateful for the beautiful music he left us. What a gift.

Music from the Edge of Heaven exposed his heart & the title says it all.The lady he fell for put him in the reach of Heaven but denied the both of them a heavenly life,by putting a stop to a relationship that should have been a permanent one. Oh also read his autobiographies he speaks of their love a lot. Breaks my ❤

      It may have been Amy Winehouse who he spoke frequently about admiring so much. He sang a song of hers, after she died, at his Symphonica shows - "Love Is A Losing Game" and boy, did he do it justice.
