As an fyi for the comment readers: It is possible to do this with the throttle body left in the car, perhaps not optimal, but possible. Disassemble the intake as you see here to access the throttle body. Then depress the accelerator pedal to open the butterfly valve and reach in with a small brush to clean the throttle walls and valve. Be aware the you will have turn on the car (not start.. just on) to move the throttle valve to the open position. If the MAF sensor is unplugged when you do that then there will be two codes that you'll have to clear after you put everything back together. Avoid the codes by plugging the sensor in when the car is on - or just clear them if you have and obdii scanner that does that. Also note that Honda's service manual state to avoid getting cleaner in the throttle valve bearing area because there is lubrication in there that can be washed away.
Jim Trainor yup I had my wife put the pedal down to open the butterfly sprayed on a rag and cleaned the throttle body... put it all back together started the car and got a MAF sensor code... rest the code idle and everything runs smooth
@@billn9n Give the car time to relearn the idle. Honda says idle relearn takes five minutes after the car is warmed up to operating temperature. Leave lights, ac, and fans off (anything that loads the engine at idle) while it relearns. If that does not do it then I don't know.
@@billn9n The 3k rpm for 3 minutes is to warm up the car. I don't think it's really critical that it be exactly that as long as the car is warmed up before you leave it to idle. But the car does have to be warmed up to operating temp to relearn the idle. Honda's normal cold idle is around 1500 rpm when you first start the engine. It drops down to 650 or 750 rpm as it warms up. The exact warm idle speed depends on the engine and your location. Colder climates have a higher warm idle.

The air cleaner housing has a bolt in the top left, it doesn't appear to be for a socket of any kind. Does it just pop out? Or how did you remove this?

My crazy neighbor ordered this software to change a key code on my car 2007 Fit (so I would not able to start it). However his software was fake and counterfeit (made in his native country) and it did not work. As he was trying to figure out why, the cops arrived. They confiscated his laptop and master keys. (He was not arrested because of mental illness)
Hi I do throttle reset without cleaning but hds shows all time time idling relearn is complete.. do I need to reconnect and clean throttle first ?? Another question is what is a standard idling rpms ? On hot engine ? I have something like 650-679 rpms and my car shakes a bit on idling. Thanks for your answer;)
I have done this with a scanner tool and my idle goes around 750. But whenever I turn off the engine, and turn it back on it comes back to around 900. I do the reset with a scanner and the relearn just like you show on this video, but never seems to work after I turn off the engine.
After you start...it will "high idle" for a few mins . It's warming up the cat and o2 sensors . After a few mins / After temp warms up It will drop back down

Hi can you tell me what interface hds you using I'm trying to buy something to my civic 2009
Can you do this with other programs?
Can you connect lets say a delphi obd2 with this program?
Will cleaning throttle body fix a tps sensor code?
It can. Just clean the rim of the plate and where it sits in the housing.
No
Or use cleaner spray and no need to remove half this stuff!
Do what now?
