Why do People Spar this Muay Thai Legend SO HARD

- Why does Everybody go so hard on Saenchai?! Idk but I got to spar the Muay Thai legend and I also breakdown some of the no-gos of sparring Saenchai!
Shoutout to @WonderboyMMA @hard2hurt and @yokkaoboxing who are mentioned in the video! - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน
Love how respectful yall were. Saenchai is still fighting at 43 years old. HE HAS HAD 378 PROFESSIONAL MUAY THAI BOUTS. The fact that people will try to hurt him after he has put his body through so much for the sport is so disrespectful. But also, how friggin stupid do you have to be to think you can go hard with someone who has had 378 professional fights????
There is unfortunately a lot of stupid people out there. Darwin awards exist for a reason.
@@huwhitecavebeast1972 Yeah, the grim truth is half of all people are below average intelligence lol
Probably because some of them have huge egos, and being in the presence of someone so great is a constant reminder how they’re really nobodies, so if they can beat up a great then they can delude themselves that they really are great fighters.
Also some of them probably just have no respect or control and shouldn’t be sparring with them.
dude fr, people were going way too hard on him in those first fights. Love the respect from Seth and the others.
there's always the occasional douche that wants to one up a legend thinking they're "old" or shot.
I felt the same amount of happiness and joy sparring against Lerdsila. I was definitely fanboying like crazy, I hardly get to train anymore since I work at a crazy factory working 50+ hours a week. But sparring a legend was something I didn’t want to miss and reminded me why I fell in love with Muay Thai over 20 years ago. One day I’ll meet Saenchai, it’s a dream of mine while he’s physically able and before my knees completely give out lol. Amazing content brotha, you deserve way more recognition
You know theyre from the same gym right?
Lucky you, to spar with Lerdsila. Hope it was fun!
Ip😅ihh
50+ hours a week is crazy where you live? Good god..
yea mate lerdsila is a fricking monster i literally respect him so much, now i am just fanboying but who cares.
If i accidentally threw something at saenchai i wasn't meant to, i would instantly apologise and bow. A lot if these guys didnt even say sorry, at least in these clips.
Exactly my thoughts
We'd all do that because of respect and we dont want to get humbled hard by the goat of the sport 💀
Lack of respect due to poor teachers
You can feel how dangerous he is when you are in the room with him. Glad you guys had fun, the perfect attitude when training with these guys.
pls stop
@@RealAmericanSicko?
@@ShengFink ?
@@RealAmericanSicko what do you want them to stop? Why do you want that to stop?
Cant think of many greater prizes for a martial artist than sparring with one of the greatest strikers ever of any sport, maybe even literally the best.
Saenchai is so lucky!
For some of them, I wanna give them the benefit of the doubt and say that it's probably not just an ego thing but a mixture of wanting to leave an impression on your idol, anxiety of wanting to prove your skills to a legend, nervousness of sparring in front of a crowd and a celebrity, in front of cameras.
Which makes no sense you want to impress your idol go win tournaments i think it's ego.
Very true
@@theobnoxiousguy3425Which absolutely Makes sense. He was right. It's not all about ego. They did have feelings to prove something Infront of their idol, and the anxiety of doing it, which led most people go harder in sparring
The thing is, for most people who have never stepped into a ring against a real veteran fighter, there is a different atmosphere that is present especially if the other guy is projecting a very strong aura that is creating very intense mental pressure on you. Your fight or flight response is subconsciously triggered and you either start running backwards or like most inexperienced guys who don't like to lose, being unfamiliar with the situation, you try to push hard against the pressure and you overdo things and go full blast just to get rid of the jitters and then the adrenaline takes over and you end up acting like a douchebag. Most times this is due to lack of proper coaching. Either your coach is too busy most of the time and just let you get away with doing things on your own which sometimes happens in a large gym or you're just one of those highly egotistic guys who think so highly of themselves that you ignore the coach and his advise and do your own thing.
no, they are just sparring, this is how normal sparring looks, dunno why you are under the impression that all sparring must be light taps on the gloves.
Oh my gosh, HOW COOL!! I got to watch Wonderboy's video and was so excited to see that you and Mike got to be a part of that as well. What an incredible experience! The respect and humility and JOY all of you showed was just wonderful to watch.
My first day of Muay Thai… the coach told me flat out, “If you spar too hard - like an idiot - NONE of the Thai fighters will go anywhere NEAR you. It will be very hard for you to find a partner. They’re not going to risk an injury for your dumbass.”
I sparred him and it was like sparring a ghost. Sure, I am older now, but not on the best day of my life could I hope to hang with this legend. LOL
How do I get started into muay thai, I'm fascinated by it, but in my town in Texas no gym prioritizes it, I hear all these big stories of going to Thailand and training there. I just don't know where to start as an 18 y/o also a lot of these fighters start so young am I starting too late to even being competitive ?
@@Raylen23try going to an MMA gym around you 😅
@@emmanuelibukun5398 they're all kind of yikes. I will look deeper into it though

the disrespect yokkao receives on tour is really something to behold. god bless them
I think Senchai actually got injured during one of the tours.

How anyone could go hard at learning with a master is beyond my understanding.. I would want to learn as much as possible and Saenchai is a really nice humble man.. I've only ever seen him laughing off anger and being really friendly.. like friendly in the truest definition of the word.. a real decent man..👍
Congrats, man. That is SO cool! I'd be "fangirling" like a MF'er if I had that opportunity too.
It’s always awesome to learn from the greats. So happy for you to learn more
As a Thai, I love how Saenchai is probably charging all these foreigners shit loads of money. He deserves it.
He should be. He's the GOAT of Muay Thai and his experience shouldn't come cheap.
Of course, he's a worldwide fighting legend. People will be willing to pay good money to train with him, that would be an honour
Man I'd pay so much for private lessons with him and I'm not particularly rich 😂
Saenchai seems like such a down to earth dude, I'm super jealous you had the opportunity to spar with such a legend! I'd kill to meet him lol
Loved the video, what an honour sparring with the goat seanchai , Watching from 🏴 Scotland, keep them coming man
I don't know what people expect. If I'm lucky enough to be able to spar a legend in a sport, I'm going to keep it relaxed. It must be clear to me that the Dude wipes the floor with me when he has had enough.
This video is absolutely amazing. Thanks for sharing it and for staying humble. We are learning from you
this is awesome. thanks for this video. I think everyone here were humble and learned pretty well.
Congrats on the awesome round with the legend, Seth!
This was amazing. I love the way your videos are edited, if you do this yourself; you got some talent man
With my short attention span, that was the first time I ever watched a full TH-cam video in forever. Very good! I’m glad everyone is taking care of Saenchai now after that video about him bad sparring partners. Take care of the legend when he’s visiting!
Really good editing in this video, not too much, not cringe either, clever, funny, illustrative and the right amount to maintain attention
Saenchai is a great guy.... and a fiery competitor...respect should be the primary focus..I'm grateful to have had him show me a couple things in light sparring
There is a difference between your sparring partner and a visiting instructor. Their health and your health are more important than your ego. Also there is no one who is going to be able to turn up as much power as Saenchai. He's beaten the breaks off some very experienced fighters, multiple times. There is nothing you can throw at him that he can't give back a hundred times more but it's so disrespectful to the people hosting him, to the other students and to the instructor themselves.
if anything, isn't it embarrassing for the gym owner ? don't these guys get kicked out of the gym for good over that kind of showing ? i would be if i did that. not even sure if its worth teaching someone who behaves like that anyway
100%
you had one of the better sparring matches with sanchai and was totally respectful. I also noticed T clowning you and he had me LMAO.
I love the overhand to knee and the footwork involved.
You are spot on with the first guy - I’m glad somebody said it and points this out.
great fun editing und allover fun to watch :)
thanks
I'm learning a lot from watching your videos. Great work. 👍
Really great editing on this one!
Wow so lucky and was much appreciated to see Sanchai. He is one of my favorite top 5 thai boxers. He has such a great personality that I have seen and is very playful yet can be very dangerous if you play on the edge.
Its also gotta be really cool that you and mike can just casually go hang out at wonderboys gym.
you're the biggest guy I know that has control with kicks and punches. awesome vid!!!
Eeeey listen, great video dude, certainly an amazing experience👌🙌
Chapeau de Curro at two minutes. He'd do good on a bus. What amazes me is the speed with which he can stabilise his hips and react to impact without altering his walking cadence. Ballet dancers can. Looking forward to your ballet adventure Seth !
Nice video! I was smiling the whole way through
imagine going to the gym of the best karate practitioner in mma, having his sensei/father poke fun at you, and getting to spar one of, if not the most prolific muay thai fighters to ever walk god's green earth.
As always love the edits. Love seth, mike, and wonderboy giving some fun spar sessions. Not going super hard and just having a good time.
All I'm saying, is if Mike is able to be humble in a sparring match with saenchai, then YOU should be able to hold back and not throw cannon balls at saenchai while he's visiting your gym.
"Oh so you are a thai boxer now" - Mr.T
Just stumbled onto your channel sir. Nice break downs. I'm a fan
I got the chance to spar with him last year, incredible experience & probably the lightest and most playful spar I’ve had in years
I love your style man!!!! So entertaining and educational at the same time....that clip of the morphine power rangers...LOOOOL!!! I was eating cereal and nearly spat the thing out, I nearly LAUGHED SO HARD!!!!!!! I've been chuckling since the beginning and that part GOT ME!!! LOOOOL!!! You're just being yourself, and it's refreshing thant he standard boring analytical style. GREAT VIDEO!!! Love the cheesy bits, just right amount. Im half French, so I should know how much is the right amount of cheese...LOL!!!
These edits are Gold
This was such a good video im glad I watched the whole thing , I think the first guy was the only one who went over the top but yes I feel like some people have ego problems and might be training for the wrong reasons.. anyways keep up the good work , I will subscribe now
I've been following muay thai for over 12 years now (practiced religiously for 3), to say I'm jealous is the understatement of the century!!
Proud to say , my gym was featured on the 'how to spar' Lawrence Kenshin video 🙏
BRO RESPECT, I love Muay thai too its the sport man. I can feel it.
thank you for another video seth I'm trying to learn kickboxing
Pretty incredible! Hilarious that Mr. T. Is roasting u the whole time. He's a savage 😂
Love sensei Seth and this channel so much. Oh yeah and Seth you should do a full ke do video and compete!!! Plz
So many cool people in the video, didn't realise Mike was there. His turn was hilarious, I follow Mike's channel, he's awesome for information.💯🙏🇬🇧🤣
Really entertaining video!!!
this was a great combo video and cool spar with a legend! so cool!
That guy sparring at the start is embarrassing, WTF.
But great video!! Top work champ 👍
Very entertaining video. Well done.
Really good moving ability for being such a big man ting. Respect
Your editor is great and very funny 😂
Saenchai is so nice, idk why people go after him, trying to test him. Seeing him next to Mike, I realized how small Saenchai is.
i was in the background of the round with the guy with yellow gloves (I had red hair with a purple shirt). Bruno was going a little harder than he should, but it was fun to watch
Dude amazing this is such a massive honour
Nice vid bro keep going u good, owee !
That was pretty awesome 😎
Real good stuff!
Your editor is on point
The way these guys want to "get him" in a sparring session, is a testament to his greatness. And his level of control to not just End them, is commendable! Sanchai- greatest ever!
Mike's a class act huh? Love it
Watching those early clips I'm glad those guys don't spar at our gym. I already feel we tend to go a bit too hard because we're all beginners and not quite that skilled at moderating our power, but these guys have some technique and still go way too hard. I don't know if it was just because they were fighting someone so skilled, but even then, why go all out in a spar? The spars Wonderboy, Mike, and you did were much more controlled and what I'd like to see in a spar.
I think it’s cool that you are a legit black belt but you still enjoy learning
some people should not be fighters due to agression issues, that first guy is one of them. having an agressive fighting style and being agressive are different things
Some good rounds %👏👏👏
That edit of you flying off-screen was so cool, I wonder how you fill in the missing images behind the body.
5:53 that kick from saenchai is just so beuatiful he waits till the...last...milli..sec-BAM and then flicks it out wow that control
One of my pet hates in Martial Arts is EGO.
The ego sparring thinks he's the best student.
LOL... MAN! Why do some people always try to ice scate up hill?!? LOL You did Great tho Mr. Seth! Great control!
I am just learning about Muay Thai kickboxing and how they train. I gotta say that Mauy Thai really trains hard in conditioning its super impressive how much punishment these top fighters can endure and dish out. I've watched some of Saenchai's highlights and I can't believe how explosive he is. Very fast and powerful, he is very good at capitalizing on the openings he makes with feigning kicks and knee strikes to quickly transition into fast elbows and strikes. He is also extremely dynamic and seems to easily keep his opponents on the defensive. Absolutely astounding that he has gone so long undefeated.
I think your sparring is very nice to watch. This is how it shlud be 🙂. Enjoy this unique opportunity and try to learn something.
Thanks for sharing
I can die happy sparring with the GOAT of muay thai 🥊
Lawrence is my favorite outta all the MA channels.
he pulled back that knee kick in the beginning, sen is so gentle even tho that dingle berrry wanted to test his medal
Sensei Seth, I'm jealous you got to spar with this legend, I hope someday if I stay healthy enough I get a chance.
Enjoyed!
seth we need that kengan ashura fights reaction!
Hey you tried hard with the editing. Good job brother.
A legend indeed!
Very respectful
It was a great day for you, i tink he is so good and he beat one and nobody is bad for him, sorry for my bad english. Greetings from Vienna
He enjoyed your tenacity did he hit anyone else with that sweet kick?!
Honestly something similar happened to me, a few days ago i when I first sparred. I was relatively new and had done Taekwando for a month an a half, I’m still a white belt. But on my first sparring session a few times where I was getting pressured in a spar there were moments where I would accidentally throw a strike harder than I should. Which I immediately apologized for, and it was chill overall. Everybody knew it was by accident, and it was chill especially since it was body shots only and we were wearing full gear. But of course there’s that one kid at my gym who spars hard, and I sparred him. Overall just don’t be that guy, sparing him was so annoying because he would throw kicks at 100% but pause the spar and step out of bounds every time i would start to try and combo him. And he just at one point bum rushed me and flying side kicked me off the mat and the instructor had to kick him out sparring for the day. Honestly the fact that the kids a blue belt and doing that in sparring against a white belt was uncalled for
If you accidentally hit someone harder than you want don’t stop to apologise mid round, say sorry after. Nothing more annoying then someone hitting you then when you’re about to counter they stop and go ohhh so sorry i didn’t meant to hit hard
@@user-ci4ij7rw6y I didn’t stop but just acknowledged it. Like “oh my bad” and continued on
Sweep the leg, no mercy.
@@user-ci4ij7rw6y I don't think it's a problem if you don't STOP anything. If I hit too hard I'd say "shit thats mb" without disrupting the flow. I guess if you're mid combo that would be harder
@@QuantumMecha I don’t know what martial art you train but I train muay thai. If you hit me Im going to hit back IMMEDIATELY before your strike even retracts to your body. If you say “my bad” as you’re retracting and I hit you, now I’m the asshole for using a cheap shot while you’re apologising.
Spencer is my coach! Can't wait to show him this video :)
1:50 I love that.
You can clearly tell that he missed on purpouse to show the guy *I could take your head off at any moment, don't forget that and be thankful that I don't want to*
I'm jealous man, so awesome.
this is so sweet
Sometimes it’s hard to not toe ppl harder than u mean to but u gotta be respectful abt it. I popped a friend in the nose sparring a while back and it was all fine.
SETH! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?
The rockstar continues!
Dude he's such a high level! After the cartwheel kick he's just watching the lead foot probably trying to see if this kid is crazy enough to try it. Why the hell does he walk up to him like that after? This dude would obliterate you for fun.
I'm jealous of getting to sparr with WB and Saenchai. I'm also jealous of being able to even PRETEND to keep up with them lol
Legends❤❤
I wonder, is it each gyms best practioner that asks or does he randomly choose hahaha lots of fun to watch !
10:57 When Mike's kick got caught and he goes "awwww" that was really funny lol.
