    The seat belt light goes off on the dash when I connect the seat belt. Does that mean it is working properly?

    I have a 2015 Ford Explorer that has been repaired after being wrecked. The rear passenger side seat belt retractor is stuck in - originally you could get it to come out with spending a lot of time fooling with it. Now it is stuck in and can not come out at all. If I take it out is there any chance of it going off or anything??? Then I can just send it in to you and get it fixed??? Thanks!

      Hi Jerry! We'll be happy to repair that seat belt for you. Simply disconnect the battery while removing the seat belt and you won't have anything to worry about. All best.

    So giving the belt a sharp tug doesn't tell you if the belt is working?

    What Is the resistance value of seat beat pretensioners

  • @jamesfirth2861
    @jamesfirth2861 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    To Sean and company,
    ny vehicle has a rear seat-belt pre-tensioner that no longer retracts the belt. I think that I may have pulled it too strongly while installing and removing my childrens' safety seats. I did pull it out as far as it would go in order to fit it around the safety seats.
    In such case, is there some mechanical fix that may be applicable? Do you have a video for that?
    Thanks

      James Firth Hi James, thanks for the question. You may have broken an internal component responsible for locking the mechanism. We do not repair any cosmetic damages and recommend you buying a new seat belt from the dealership to assure that you and your family is safe. All best!

    • @Safetyrestore
      @Safetyrestore  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Should be between 2-3... you may have something adding to the resistance.

    Thanks for the video demonstration. Just as a suggestion, you should either get rid of the music or turn it way, way down. I had a hard time hearing the words over the music.

    I unpluged my tensioner cable and now the airbag light is on. How can I reset it?

    • @Safetyrestore
      @Safetyrestore  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +LOV2XRL8RL If it threw a code, you'll need to reset it with a scan tool. Otherwise, disconnect a battery for a minute and it should go away.

    You can not repair seat belts. They have an explosive charge controlled by your srs module. For your safety when air bags blow up the explosive charge on your seat belt blows up too and tightening you up against the seat. Ask this guys if they replace the charge...I doubt it! Buy a use one.

    • @Safetyrestore
      @Safetyrestore  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      che We replace the blown charges with 100% OEM gas charges. Our work is certified and is accepted by law enforcement all around the states. Thank you for your concern!
