I was going to mention the Star Forge, as being a more powerful version of the world devastators. What would you change if you included the star forge?

      @TheSuperRatt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@Apokalypse How is the Star Forge a weapon? It just makes stuff. A lot of stuff, granted, but still. The World Devastators are actual weapons because they're turned against enemy worlds, eat em up, and then churn out war materiel. The Star Forge is just a far superior version of an orbital shipyard/weapons foundry combo.

@@Apokalypse i wouldn't say it was more powerful since the Star Forge itself isn't a super weapon and more like a super factory which produce weapons, where the world devastators using the material harvesting as a weapon itself instead of nibbling on a Star

Some fun Trivia: The axial Superlaser on the Eclipse was never mentioned in the Dark Empire miniseries, that was purely a West End Games creation based on the art in the comics, you are welcome Star Wars Fans.
One of the ideas that got left on the cutting room floor was the rank of Commander Moff, a Moff with no Political power but would help The Emperor solidify his control over all aspects of the Imperial Military. It was suggested Moff Jerjerrod would be one of these (and his rank is called this in the radio dramas) and there is a Moff on the World Devastators in Dark Empire who would also fit this bill. But again this idea got left off the official rulebooks.
I was hoping The Tarkin from Star Wars comics would make this list, but it’s pretty much the same list I would come up with from Legends.
Since we are undergoing the pandemic you could do a video about the Crimson Forever.

Agreed, the star forge is really op when u think about it much like the world devastators too, both r factories that u just throw at raw resources and they create weapons. Give them enough time and u could easily overthrow the universe. Palp just shouldnt have used the devastators on such a visible world, he should have just thrown them at star systems. I am also convinced that the star forge was ultimately mobile to some degree. U dont really want to be draining ur homeworlds own star, going to make it burn out to quickly. I think the star forge was either moved back to rakata or only the original remained with the others destroyed

I consider the Star Forge the better World Devastator.
You can park it over a star and churn out endless ships and droids, It's semi-stationary nature means you don't need to risk it with every engagement the same way you do with a Devastator, just have it parked away somewhere.
You could even invest a few years and build a second Star Forge and hide that just in case you need it.
      It's the ultimate weapon.

@@TRLAuthor From what I’ve seen and read, SD wasn’t really on the money with a lot of the things audible was doing ‘wrong’ for creators.
A lot of authors didn’t have good experiences, yes, that’s an absolute, this is a misstep on audible I will say, they need to be much better with communication and the like.
But from interviews and statements of read and watched from many authors, one being Craig Alanson, audible does genuinely care for its creators, it kinda has to, otherwise it’s kinda screwed.
I agree that the split between audible and creator is rather skewed towards audible, but again, I will say they do a *fantastic* job at advertising their products for their creators at no extra charge, meanwhile Google books, or others, as far as I’m aware, does no such thing.
I’m not saying Audible is perfect, and I will say it has directly supported many creators and authors who I greatly respect, so my opinion may be a bit skewed, but nonetheless I feel like there is middle ground here besides, ‘Spacedock just salty’ (yes I have heard this before) and ‘Audible is the work of the devil’.
In essence, SD had a bad experience so did other authors and creators, however we know they make up the vast minority of cases, but it is an issue for audible to work on, both for the sake of a company, and for the creators it hosts, I do think it’s a good service that cares for its creators, (otherwise that’s just bad business and...assholish), just that this is an issue to deal with.
If you wanna boycott it for that, go ahead, it is a good means to get their attention by paying with your dollar, personally, as audible is a direct way of supporting many smaller authors I respect, I will not be doing so, but I don’t blame anybody for if they decide to go ahead with it.
TL;DR: Audible not perfect, Spacedock’s experience not the norm, vote with your dollar if you wish to.

What about shawken device : The weapon's creator intended for it to destroy the universe, but there is no record of a successful test of any kind, nor any evidence to suggest that it was actually capable of doing so.[1] The weapon was intended to accomplish this by destroying the planet Shawken and hurling its fragments through hyperspace to collide with other planets, theoretically setting off a chain reaction that would eventually destroy all matter and end the universe, presumably allowing the birth of another universe.[2]

I’ve been using audible as well for a long time, and whilst I get the hype for the promotion...after what happened the last time you mentioned Star Wars books specifically
There are two or three dozen FULL novels from LEGENDS and multiple from the new canon
However, sadly, at least half if not more are only available as shortened and condensed ABRIDGED versions...
So advice to any and all people wanting to get the books on audible, there ARE filters for “legends” and to select unabridged/full length only

The Corellian Trilogy by Roger Mcbride Allen is all about it, Hans family on corellia, and Han and Leia's children whom Rey and Kylo ren are very clearly based on. It's a very underated trilogy. i like it way more than the Thrawn trilogy or Jedi Academy trilogy. i bet you could order them used online for a few bucks a piece. totally worth reading. It also has lots of Mara Jade in it and Lando Calrissian in it. which is pretty awesome.
To get the full story of centerpoint you'd also have to read the Legacy of the Force series. which is easily the best star wars series ever written. It is freakishly awesome, but is also like 7 books roughly. then... you'd have to read parts of the Yuzong Vong series which was called New Jedi Order. that series is like... i dunno, 15 books long? it's also very, very good. Then... you'd have to read the Fate of the Jedi series to understand the monster Abeloth that the centerpoint was imprisoning. and that series is like 9 books roughly. It's also quite good, even though it starts off pretty slow in the first couple books. but of all of these, the old School 90's Corellian Trilogy has a special place in my heart as my favorite star wars Trilogy, and it's also the most centerpoint focused i'd say. luckily, it's also the shortest at only 3 books that are relatively short for star wars novels.

Center Point Station is pretty much just a giant Tractor Beam and was built by the Killiks who were instructed by the Celestials on how to build it. It's original purpose was to move Black Holes to create the Maw so that they could imprison Abeloth there.
And that there was the most scary part, they used it to move Black Holes from all around the galaxy to just one location.
The Corellian system was more than likely built with it by the Killiks themselves as their home. It was hardly a machine capable of pin point accuracy, but with the hands and skill of a Jedi, it was more than capable of it which was proven late in the legends cannon. It was a giant Tractor Beam that was weaponised.

Enterprise MACOS vs imperial stormtroopers or, possibly, ARK troopers from the clone wars. A rescue mission for the MACOS on an imperial star destroyer or the Death Star perhaps? The MACOS haven’t gotten a lot of love it seems and the one group of military personnel in the Star Trek universe deserves a showing.

Yeah, but it isn’t really a weapon. It’s extremely dangerous, but it’s essentially a gigantic, super powered factory. It doesn’t have any direct destructive capabilities besides some turrets for self defense, and while it would eventually consume a star, it wasn’t made to or capable of destroying a star outright. That’s my opinion, anyway.

So I actually had a video premise request. I'll try to be brief
I'm currently in a Star Wars TTRPG that involves a ship, a Pelta class medical frigate, that has turned into a dark side nexus due to being boarded, the crew slaughtered, refitted into a pirate ship, and being home to many more slaughters and atrocities.
So I was wondering if you wanted to do a video on the most evil ships in star wars, explicitly supernatural or implied.
Or if pickings are slim in that, technological artifacts or machines steeped in the dark side, and what they're like in the setting.

It's unknown whether or not it could be mobile at all. But in terms of what it can produce from a secluded area..
I mean. We're essentially talking about a forge that could craft everything on this list. In record times.
Costing very little in terms of resources. With near limitless applications as to what it could build.
(Just a little prone to driving it's users crazy... so what the cost if you can build more! )
At least that's my thoughts on it vs a World Devastator.
Plus side of the Star forge, it can't go rogue like the Devastators could have. It requires a "pilot". A will so to speak.

Star Killer base is probably the WORST super weapon in all of Sci-Fi. You get ONE shot before your position is known to everybody, it must have been enormously expensive to construct, it was taken out shortly after its existence was discovered with minimal resources, planning and effort, and it’s a fixed weapon (not like you can alter the planets orbit), meaning it can’t run away and has to wait for its orbit to be in the right position to fire.

It's a weapon that confuses me why its listed. It was useless, you didn't need the gun, you needed its self propelled bullets. All it did was basically fire highly explosive well armoured ships at people, anyone could have done that.
Also it's the easiest weapon to defend against, a single hyperspace inhibitor would stop it targetting a planet, admittedly at the cost of blocking the hyperspace route.

Hey Eckhart -- I'm curious, but have you considered doing any No Man's Sky content? There's a lot of interesting lore content in that game and the ships undoubtedly look very Star Wars-esque. Though there would be inherent difficulties in doing things like ship reviews and such, because ships in NMS are procedurally generated and there's millions of unique types.
