Star forge as it may have an upper limit but it can be upgraded by whoever owns it. That includes it's defences and the production of super weapons.

1: Build Star Forge
2: Use it to make more Star Forges
3: Make superweapons and insanely massive fleets
4: Galactic empire? Republic? Jedi? Sith? You're using the dark side and the dark side is using you, you're slowly becoming as powerful as The Son, possibly more. Just build a bigger fleet, maybe HURL A PLANET AT THEM.
5: Remember to keep mentally active, meditate often to keep your mind.
6: Make an assortment of Lightsaber weapons out of Prick or whatever it was called, maybe a SHIELD.
7: Make an army of armies of droids. Make some geniuses, but completely under your control. The others should have the Force put into them. It may drain you, but you'll get more power.
8: Make your own personal planet, put your Force power into it, now you own the Galaxy.
9: Make your own personal planet-sized ship, make sure it can pierce that damn galaxy barrier, take the strongest Droids with you, make sure more are produced. Star Forge destroyed? Make a new one.
10: Map out the entire Galaxy, then leave it to map the Galaxy, take some smart droids with you so they can learn about threats and make weapons to combat them.
11: You are now Supreme Leader of the Universe. Give yourself a pat on the back while you make Star Forges in deep space and some superweapons to keep your citizens in check.
12: You should probably build hyperspace travel through the universe, make sure your personal ship and planet can access it.
13: Live in far deep space, so you're not harmed. Keep in constant contact with your Droids. You're able to meditate away the madness the Star Forges provide, so now you're an all-powerful Force being.
Assuming you had time to not only develop those but also had PERFECT planning and a fleet to build first to build thag super weapon. I doubt you could build other star forges

Darth Malak actually addresses that. He mentions that Darth Revan only saw a giant factory rolling out an infinite fleet to crush the Republic, but there's so much more to the station that Revan never understood, and that Malak himself never got a chance to unlock before the redeemed Revan led Republic forces to Rakatta Prime and destroyed the Star Forge.
I believe that someone who truly understood everything about the Star Forge could probably use it just as effectively as, if not more effectively than Centerpoint Station, possibly even creating Force-sensitive war droids.
Imagine an entire army of droids - numbers comparable to what the Grand Clone Army of the Republic had - but with the speed, skill, and durability of General Grevious, AND a connection to the Dark Side of the Force. It would be nigh unstoppable. It took nearly all that Obi-Wan Kenobi had to bring down ONE General Grevious.
Gonna be honest, in my mind, the star-forge is the best of these. Why? Because, theoretically, you can use 1 star-forge to make dozens of death-stars. Learn the upper limits of its production, have it build ships and droids to act as laborers, then switch the star-forge to output raw materials and the like to build the death-stars with the army of labor droids.
If it were to be remade in the time of the Empire, and the designs for the Malevolence were found, the resistance would have been absolutely deleted. Make a bunch of Death Stars, with malevolences crewed by hundreds of thousands of Grievous-level droids, and no one would question your rule.
@Zach F. i think you need to hear THE SERIOUS DISADVANTAGES of the star forge that it was drawn from the dark side and a star stars can run out of energy and though your point is valid there was no such thing as a death star at that point it was in 30,000 BBY 5000 yrs before the Old Republic
I agree, because even if what you suggest for it is impossible, the ability to produce so many vessels in such little time and with such efficiency is enough to win most fights
I think there's actually two better superweapons than the star forge. Those are the world devastators, which can convert an entire planet into a large fleet, and in time, make more of itself with no human assistance needed while getting more and more powerful the more it consumed. There's also the comedic-looking star crusher, which was basically a nearly indestructible starfighter-sized ice cream cone with a gun that could cause a star to go supernova in a single shot. The only thing that destroyed it was a black hole.
I will one up you. Make the starforge produce more starforges.

Long time late for this, but there are many, many, many thermal exhaust ports on the death star. It’s just the one we see in the film is the only one that’s a weak point.

I love the star forge, and I feel it should be higher up. If it can create infinite ships, it can overwhelm any enemy. As for the size, "Size matters not"-Yoda. If they have enough Interdictor cruisers, it can immobilize a fleet, but with all the possibilities and more time, I believe they could have created a ship that forces ships into hyperspace, instead of keep them out.
It can't build an infinite amount of ship. The Star Forge use the nearby star as the resource center, meaning it has only a limited resource. Limited resource=limited production.

A Star Forge is only limited by how many stars are in space. Suck one dry then move to a new one.

Yes, All the other weapons can potentially kill planets, but NO ONE EVEN KNEW THE STAR FORGE EXISTED until Revan was brainwashed to join the Republic! Even IF you found it by accident, the EMP field would fry your ship, crash it into Rakata prime and you'll be murdered by the Rakata and their pet Rancors.
And thats why I prefer the Star Forge. Of course, I'd never say no to a free Death Star, but If I had to pick?

The Star Forge has an advantage none of the rest of them could come close to matching. Using the fleet it can build the user can capture and hold on to territory, defend other assests, scout the galaxy for your enemies, inflict precision strikes, land troops and take control of a facility, in a word having a fleet is the most flexible option and the Star Forge is going to give you a fleet (and if you can reprogram what it builds it'll also probably help you build up civilian infrastructure too, I don't imagine getting it to spit out prefabricated modular space station piece would be too difficult), all the rest can do is blow things of various sizes up.
And it builds droids you can use as soldiers or even crew for the fleet.

It also warps your mind and this makes it difficult to reliably use said resources and opens you up to massive flaws in your plans due to emotions and ego
starforge should be #1 due to the fact that its a station that can crank out entire fleets at the production rates of several shipyard dedicated worlds alone.
It's the most versatile war machine, if technology of its making wouldn't disappear, it could make other star forges, it can build droids, ships, supplies, other superweapon parts.

Personally, I feel like the Star Forge's only weaknesses are that the size of the ships it creates are likely limited by hanger size, and the fact that it cannot directly destroy any of the other superweapons itself.

Star forge quantity over quality and as for your point of it being limited to certain sized ships it could be used to create parts of larger ships/super weapons that it might not be able to make at once and your faction can put the parts together, simple

I think only Thrawn could truly use the Star Forge. Anyone else would get arrogant and think that because they have unlimited ships they can win anything. The old Sith thought that and they be dead.

@@donnovandalusong266 Perhaps but I suppose it depends on what “necessary” means. I do think he’d limit his use of it but he’d also not shy away from using it. Being able to outnumber his opponents is good, but being able to produce more specialized ships that he otherwise would have to keep safe due to low numbers, I think is where he’d go with it. Or more powerful and versatile fightercraft that he had been denied previously.

I gotta disagree with ya here eck.
Now, i am an old republic fan boy. But the star forge was clearly shown to be incredibly powerful. I think you made some good points regarding the dark side influence, but the greatest caveat you have with it is in 2 easily explained things.
1. Its discovery. Remember the star forge existed in an area of the galaxy that was essentially scrubbed from record and purposely forgotted about. *nobody* knew where it was for thousands of years. And it was only when malak and revan stumbled upon a map on dantooine, that they were set on the path to find it. Even then, that path was a long one. The main character of SWKOTOR only found it because of their dreams/memories/visions. Which lets be honest, is more plot than power.
The location of Rakata Prime has been hidden ever since the infinite empire's downfall, and when the star forge was destroyed, it was hidden again.
Finding the star forge would be an insurmountable undertaking.
As for the cap on its production, it seems incredibly unfair to point to the ships it produced in the old republic as a cap. Of course star destroyers werent getting built, they werent made until 4k + years later. That would be like saying a 3D printer isnt very good because it cant produce a laser rifle.
They had to use ship designs of the era that existed. Im sure they experimented, but warfare advances are made from necessity, and the sith empire was stomping the republic with that it had at the time.
There is nothing in the source material to suggest the star forge had a limit to its production, its power was transmutation. Give it enough dirt and rocks, and the forge will pump out a death star for you. Provided you have the plans. MY concern is with its *other* power source. What happens when the sun it feeds from dies?
Judge Tater somewhere in the game it mentioned it was getting bigger and bigger, theorizing one day it would be able to create entire plants or galaxies. Size is not a problem.
Use the Center Point station to move another sun near the Star Forge :D
Apparently it was mentioned somewhere that it could move to another star or create new star forges above other stars through hyperspace.
The star issue is solvable, and so is the dust and rock thing. The star forge could build a fleet capable of moving it to other stars, and by converting energy to mass, you could get all the resources you could ever need for transmutation.

also a group of revanchist in the nar shadda underworld have a pieces of star forge called infinite engine which have the size as small as a tip of a finger at the beginning but it grow larger overtime and provide food water clean air and even producing defensive droids that group claims to have live for many generations from that infinite engine alone

You have seen nothing. All superweapons here pale in comparison to the might of the Sun Crusher. Fast, Size of a starfighter and survived an indirect shot from the death star prototype. It's the most overpowered thing in the galaxy and no army could stop it.

you have to remember though that the Star Forge was constantly growing larger. Revan Hypothesized that eventually the Star Forge would be able to print out planets or even entire galaxies.

It was never mentioned in KOTOR, but it was talked about in the SWTOR MMO and in a couple of the books if I remember correctly.
Only matters if your able to survive long enough. one bad fleet battle and your star forge is dust. Sure maybe *eventually* the star forge would exceed the others, but in the short term a galaxy gun or death star II is a more powerful weapon that can end a war "now".

100% agreeing with you, close to idestructable? check. hyperspace? Check. capable to destroy planets? why even ask it can destroy freaking suns so CHECK!. its also a smal and quick craft capable to survive the explosion of a star without any damage and all it needs is a single pilot to be operated. no need for a crew of 100s, 1000 or 10s of thousands of scientensts mecanics etc like a deathstar also it wasent hard to operate either considering a basicly untrained pilot that was what? 15-16 years old was able to use it. yes it was a jedi in training but regadless, it shows the outer devestation that weapon had the posibility to do. imagtion it in the hand to someone that wanted to kill everyone. and once it needed a black hole to get destroyed.
Oh absolutely. There's a number of superweapons that are not on this list that frankly would be better, I think mostly because they're stupid. Like he is purposefully only showing what we know the Starforge can do, rather than 'infinite production' because otherwise its obviously stupid.
the fact of the matter is The Sun Crusher is beyond stupid, from the worst novel series in Star Wars history in the 90s, including some of the awkwardness of the Vong books and the childrens books. Black Fleet Crisis is just *so bad*

Both Centerpoint and the Starforge are my favorites, since they're not simply 'weapons.' Centerpoint allows you to sculpt star systems, like Corellia likely was. The Star Forge can quickly construct ships and droids, even if there's an upper limit it's still highly versatile.

@Jacob Underwood I think empire with starforge is basically an overkill. 1 star destroyer is already a very hard opponent for a mon calamari imagine the empire having the ability to quickly mass produce and then adding the starforge almost increasing their production 10 times. Even the republic will not be able to fight such an overwhelming force.

Super weapons are nothing without good fleets or good leaders
I liked the star forge a lot. Economically speaking it's by far the best, you can create an unlimited robot army that would shadow the seperatist army from the clone wars in both individual unit strength (like say an army of hk-47s) and total number of units. It's offensive capabilities top everything but defense is basically just security through obscurity.
The death star however is the most balanced and practical. I'd rank centerpoint station as #1, no one can use it but it's clearly the most powerful, I'd rank star forge second, it could defeat the death star with a blitzkrieg. I'd put the death star after that, and I'd put the long range artillery gun you put first as last.
As a strategic weapon the galaxy gun might be the most convenient since it's usable unlike centerpoint station and you just have to point and shoot. But it is the hardest to defend and has effectively no method to fight mobile targets, even the slow moving death star can outrun this, and it's not very good for killing rebels since finding their bases is 90% of the battle, after a base is found they turn tail and run while the empire storms it. Destroying entire planets to get to a measly rebel base is extremely wasteful. It's got great range and power equal to the death star but it's easy to counter with a fleet. It's even easier to destroy than the star forge which is pretty much a sitting duck if it's found.
The star forge is not THAT fast in production. Like. Its fast, yeah, but the sith fleet WAS beaten by the republic. If it was as fast as everyone here is making it sound, then knights of the old republic would have ended very fast. its clearly limited in how fast it can produce.
now yeah its technically unlimited. but any given shipyard is "unlimited" in how many ships it can produce if you just gave it long enough. given 10,000,000,000,000 years, kuat drive yards could of course produce billions or trillions of ships... but nobody just has 10,000,000,000,000 years to sit around and wait.
Simple, take the skyforge. Give the Death Star plans (updated without weakness) and make the Death Star. Use it defensively until you get the other 2. Then rule the galaxy.
I’d probably go a different route. I’d get the star forge, upload the information on the xyston star destroyer, and have the star forge start producing them in large numbers that way you get a massive fleet of Death Star level weapons that are fully mobile

On Xbox beating Malak was fairy easy, if you walk into enemies, get in their face, they got to back up before they can strike you for some reason, while they do that, you hit them then immediately move in their face again, effectively rendering single opponents powerless in Kotor

I think that the Star Forge is pretty powerful, because it is incredibly hard to find, enabling you to build a large fleet before it is found. However, by the time of the Galactic Empire, the maps will have fully repaired themselves, meaning that only one would need to be found.

A weapon that I think needs a look at is hammer station from the mmorpg old republic. It used gravity manipulation to hurl comets and asteroids at its targets. It's not nearly as famous as the other superweapons in the series (in fact I don't think we've seen the full view of what it looks like), but I think it should at least be talked about,

I really like that you go through many options before deciding which is the best of what franchise.
You should have also included the mass shadow generator, I'm pretty sure its canon. It was an old super weapon back in the old republic, and I think it would be a good super weapon. Definitely consider making a part 2 to this video.

Yeah, but it's a Mary Sueperweapon.
It's not indestructible. A watered down Death Star shot a watered down (Double water-downed) Superlaser damaged the Sun Crusher.

It flew into a black hole IIRC, but you can't say the black hole being the upper limit of the Sun Crusher's durability. This is like saying someone throws a nuke at a tank and destroys it, so it would take a nuke to destroy the tank. The black hole would likely to be an overkill.

Didn't it survive a "glancing blow" from an unfinished Death Star Prototype, a water-downed version of the ones in episode 4 and 6? We knew that a glancing blow from a fully functional Death Star has a digit-teraton level of destructive capability, based on Rouge one and scenes in the battle of Endor, so the DS prototype's weapon would be arguably weaker.

Because conventional weapons in Star Wars Legends aren't that impressive. The 200 gigaton Turbolaser argument is questioned by many. Thus, at best, the Crusher withstand maybe a few megaton-level weapons.

Also, a lot of Mid-tier sci-fi races can blow up stars. In Star Wars, such deeds can only be done by a superweapon and Sith rituals.
Try to find a fighter size starship in the massive volume of space of an entire star system, then try to intercept it, and then, when the star is targeted and locked, try to intercept that torpedo.

Actually having played both kotor one and two extensively(even going as far as installing the restoration mods for them both) I think the star forge should be number 2 because of the simple fact that the station had light side robes in its database which shows it does have light sided capabilities and capacity.
If I’m honest, the Star Forge would have been a better choice of super weapon for the First Order that Starkiller base. The Supremacy’s ability to produce its own weapons and vehicles kind of make up for that, but not to the same level as the Star Forge.

Due to this video my family and I (Including a chemical engineer), using the travel between Krait and Canto Bight's planet, in an online Star Wars map (debatable accuracy), were able to calculate the Star Trek equivalent Warp level. (Side note: Star Trek's Warp System is well thought out and calculable, whilst Lucasfilms hasn't done much number-crunching). Star Wars Hyperspace is approximately Warp 970. The U.S.S. Enterprise travels at a max Warp 10, when pushing it. Thanks for the 30 min geek session XD.
That's one of the issues with a fictional galaxy-there was no real way to measure distances at first. However, it's a known fact that hyperspace is orders of magnitude faster than warp. I also ought to point out that there are different hyperspace speeds, from Class 1 to Class 4 or so, with higher numbers being slower (the Death Star had a Class 4 hyperdrive, while the fastest ship in the Imperial navy was a Class 1). We can probably guess that the ship they used had a hyperdrive around Class 2.5 (normal for a nice civilian ship). Ships could go up to around three or four times faster than that, with the Millenium Falcon as the fastest known ship in Star Wars going up to five times that fast with its Class 0.5 hyperdrive.
So, you know, a fast Star Wars ship can push past Warp 4,000 (assuming here that we're using the old Star Trek scale, not the relativistic one where Warp 10 is infinite speed). This is safer for them because hyperspace travel involves shortcutting through a higher dimension rather than traveling through realspace at horrifically high speeds.

I'd say the best super weapon was actually the death star due to its mobile nature unlike the other three super weapons. Sure shooting a missile across the galaxy is fine and all but the thing is that if faced against the Death Star, it would need to know where it is first. And that's why I believe the Death Star is the best super weapon out of all of them.

One word, and the StarForge become one of the most powerful: Droids. Automating the Starforge's systems would negate the darkside influence, solve the issue of manpower for manning the fleet, and increase the raw production capabilities of the Starforge immensely. Simply be having the starforge build droids, while also beginning to produce space station parts, you begin building Drydock station's capable of building ships, eventually, when you have various Drydock and fabricating stations, you simply dedicate the vast majority of the starforge's raw power and production capabilities to producing droids and raw materials. You use the materials at the drydock stations to create your warships, and all the while this is happening, you don't need to invade planets, you don't need manpower, food production, if you require more raw materials, you can mine astroids. and you remain hidden from the galaxy at large.

With the Star forge you could still make your super dreadnoughts just have the forge make parts and do the final assembly outside of it outside with tugs. Even if your churning out an executor in 10 modules instead of at once it's probably still faster to build it than from scratch.
Basically it all depends on the ones using the superweapon and their strategy. Give Thrawn one of these and he finds a way to rule. The starforge's dark side influence can be negated through force-negating materials or animals on the ones operating it.
If I had to pick a super weapon to give thrawn, I’d probably give him the sith eternal fleet since each of the ships in the fleet had Death Star level firepower but were far more mobile

I'm dubious that any explanation could shore up the plot hole that the hyperspace ram in TLJ presents. Why would there ever be capital ships or cruisers when you could just have droid manned fighters jump into them? Super weapons like the Deathstar would just see a cruiser jumped into the core.
This is completely wrong, time and time again in REAL HISTORY it has been shown that having the strongest military production capabilities is by far superior.

also in terms of actual superweapons... No level of military production would beat out sufficient atomic firepower to wipe out all life on the planet. You could have a billion soldiers, but they cant do anything to the sheer firepower of a nuclear firestorm. No number of aztecs in mesoamerica countered the absolute destruction wrecked by smallpox (which could be considered a sort of "bio-superweapon", in a sense.). No number of japanese soldiers and fighters stopped the atomic bombs in hiroshima and nagasaki. And similarly, no number of sith star destroyers is going to matter if you can destroy them all with a superlaser.

The death Star wasn't capable of reppeling the rebel assault and while we can argue plot armor all we want what happened happened. With the production potential of the star forge being almost infinite, they'd be quite capable of constructing a fleet large enough to overwhelm nearly any superweapon.
And who's to say you couldn't use the star forge to construct piece by piece your own superweapon at a vastly accelerated rate compared to what other factions could manage? It's never stated the Star forge is restricted to ships, and we can see that ourselves as it also builds droids, weapons, etc.

I would argue the Star Forge is the most powerful super weapon. In war, strategy beats tactics. And strategy, is often based on economics.
The Star Forge, gives you unlimited economic production, for everything up to capital ships. That, isn’t glamorous, it isn’t cool, but it’s more important then anything.
Case in point, the Nazis lost the war, because they ran out of oil, before breaking the Soviet Union, and lost about a million soldiers, in Operation Barbarossa, which they struggled to replace.
The Soviets won because they kept hold of their oil, and absorbed loses of over 5 million in Operation Barbarossa and merely recruited another 5 million soldiers.
Economics are what warfare are built upon. The Star Forge, is unlimited economics.

The latest movie kind of makes all of these super weapons moot. All you have to do is launch capital ships at hyper space speeds directly into them. Even the death star would take shit loads of damage if it is hit at the firing point.
the mass and size of the ship would dictate the effectiveness of the maneuver. Gotta have good aim and be willing to sacrifice a large ship with plenty of cargo and explosive ordinance.

From my understanding, the star forge could be replicated without using the dark side of the force, as this was intended more for security than actual functionality
In my Fanon Star Wars universe, the Taranajans, a race of Dark Side-worshiping assassins who also happen to have the most extensive empire in the universe, have a superweapon called the Venomspray on each of their Dragonfang-class Star Dreadnoughts. The Venomspray is essentially a pulse of Dark-Side energy that builds up along the hull of the Dragonfang before erupting from the front end. It’s not nearly as powerful a blast as, say, the Death Star, as it takes several blasts to destroy a planet, but each Dragonfang is capable of a Venomspray blast, and the Taranajans have trillions of Dragonfangs. The sheer number of these particular superweapons is their greatest advantage.
