      Yusra Ilyas people with natural curly hair should’ve been included. All types of curls. Julissa makes videos all about appliances that are dedicated to help with straightening curly hair; I think she is a great choice to be an “influencer” for brands that are about those type of tools.

      LeAnn Meldrum From all the other sponsored videos I’ve seen they all say the time limit is 30 minutes of use per charge even if it’s fully charged. I’m glad Julissa did this video because I had the same concern since I have a lot of hair and it’s thick. I could never straighten my hair in 30 minutes. I mean I would never spend this munch on an iron but I was just curious how it would work on people with a lot of hair.

    No hair tool is worth $500. As far as the charging issue goes, I'm sure Dyson recommends fully charging it before using it, especially straight out of the box. Perhaps you can let it charge for an hour or so then use it and give us an update. Only seems fair to Dyson. But still, $500? Um...no.

    Well, I got it a few days ago too.
    I actually charged like 75% first and kept putting in the charging dock while straightening my hair. It didn’t die on me.
    I don’t have curly hair. I do have long wavy hair.
    I like that it left my hair REALLY soft! A regular straighter would yank off so much hair since it’s long and It would be hot to the touch. It didn’t take long for me to get my hair straight. I could actually touch my hair right after I ran one portion of hair through the straighter. It does damage your hair less. I like it. It’s in my bathroom on the charging dock, plugged in. And to be honest, I just adore the look...... but who knows, maybe I think it’s fabulous because I’m comparing in to a $100 iron. Lol........ But to anyone out there reading my comment, Don’t buy more than you can comfortably pay for......

  • @ericalaughman8522

    Good review. In fairness to Dyson, like others have been saying in the comments, you should first fully charge out the box. Also, for a high wattage device like a hair straightener, it's actually pretty good to get 15-20 mins off of a (assuming) lithium ion battery. I personally think it's dangerous to release this type of product to the general public because of the potential to over-heat the battery (think hoover boards,Note 7 with a built-in heating element 🔥 ). But still...$500? Nah bruh

    Good video, love how you have curly hair and tested these to see how good they are. I would say fully charge next time as their website states you get a full 30mins of cordless so that may work better. And yes you have the cord to attach if you want them plugged in, I’m still debating to get them or not .

  • @maddietsou2776
    @maddietsou2776 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I see a lot of comments about how you didn’t charge it fully before using it and that it’s your fault that the battery didn’t last. 😬 I looked it up, and the Dyson website says it gives 30 minutes of cord-free styling, and it fully recharges in 70 minutes. That’s still probably not enough time for her to completely straighten all of her hair, especially when it takes that long to recharge. I think she’s definitely right that that is not enough battery life. ☹️

  • @blakefox5643
    @blakefox5643 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you haven’t got time for it to fully charge before you use it, you can use it with the cord attached. It’s a magnetic attachment with 360’ rotation so whilst not as handy as cordless it’s still really easy to use.

  • @yugabakre

    Great review! You were the only non sponsored review I've seen so far.
    I read on people.com that it can be used corded if you plug the cord directly into the flat iron instead of the dock, FYI. I couldn't find the same info on the Dyson website though, nor have I seen anyone mention it in the videos I watched. It's strange that it shut off for you even though it was directly plugged in, if being able to use it corded is a feature.
    Cordless is cool and useful but I want to be able to use it if I'm in a rush and forgot to charge it.

    Also a lot of how your hair straightens depends on how you prep it. Like the shampoo/conditioner you use, which should be mostly sulfate free and a 5 minute blowdrying the night before works wonders. I recommend the Solano straightener and an Elchim blow dryer and L’oreal Sulfate Free Shampoos. They will save you time and effort, especially with thick curly hair like ours!

    after doing your hair, you should see how long it lasts for 24 hours and do check-ins every 3 hours and then one when u wake up from sleeping

    Do you prefer this straightener over the revlon 1 step or hot tools?

  • @wkgeneralwkgeneral527
    @wkgeneralwkgeneral527 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    You can still use this while it's charging. If you start with a full charge and set it on the charger while you are temporarily putting it down to adjust your hair then it's supposed to last 40 minutes. Also, the value of this tool is not that it's cordless but that the lower heat protects your hair, particularly if you are one that uses heat tools on your hair a lot. Would be interested in another demo once you learn to use the tool correctly instead of the rush job you did.

      I'm just correcting the information in the video that you can't use it while it's charging - all you have to do is go to the Dyson site to find the information that I commented on and there are plenty of video's there! ....and BTW I did buy it with my own money and it works as described by Dyson.

    That price tag is insane. No thank you but I enjoyed your video. I have the GHD glide and still love it and that’s the most I would spend for a hair tool. Thanks 😊

    Thank you for the video Julissa! I don’t think I will buy because from everyone I’ve watched all sponsored before your video, the hair is just not as sleek as I’d like for $700 Australian dollars. I was glad to see how the battery works (or doesn’t) when it is so low on charge that is important in weighing up if it is worth the price tag.

    Yes!! So pleased to see this video! Thank you! I have watched another video on the Corrale and they charged it fully when they took it from the box so it had full charge and then when getting sections for the next pass they sat it down on the docking station to grab a minutes charge and it lasted longer that way. For me I like the option of cordless but maybe I’d use corded for the front and then take it off for doing trickier curls/back hair etc when the cord can normally get tangled xx my main reason to buy this is to have healthier hair, do you think (battery issue aside) if this works on high heat with one pass that my hair would be better condition compare to normal straighteners of same heat but needing multiple passes? Xx

  • @allthingswonderful8415
    @allthingswonderful8415 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can use the straightener corded! Just plug the cable into the back of the machine itself. X

    You mentioned being able to put it in your carry-on, but a lot of airports are imposing restrictions on battery-charged hair straighteners! I'd never seen it before but I ran into this 3 times last year.

    I have the dyson hair dryer for the past 2-3 years and I absolutely love it!! Now I’m tempted to get this one but my babyliss straightener is still going strong n it’s been 7-8 years..

      I've been doing my research & babyliss is one of the top straighteners. I'm having a tough time making a decision. So far I'm leaning on the dyson for less hair damage. If ur straightening your hair weekly I think $500 is worth it

I also wish it wasnt cordless , I take 2-3 hours straightening my hair I cant imagine how long is gonna take with this one. Hopefully they come out with another version cus when you took that big section n it came out great I was shook it has the potential to straighten hair way faster

    Just a tip with batteries you need to charge them fully if u charge for a few mins and then use it until it’s dead it will ruin the battery - I’d hate for u to pay $500 for the straightener and then the battery be ruined
