So last year I was checking out almost every review of the Q7 and the XC90 on TH-cam, but this review was definitely the deciding factor for me (nothing to do with price!). I bit the bullet - went with the XC90, loved it...... .....until last week. I sent my XC90 in for first year servicing. In its place, the dealership loaned a Q7 for a couple of days. I never went back. After 1 day, I picked up the phone and told the dealership to keep the XC90 and I'll top up the difference. The drive (the Q7 is 2.0L) is comparatively smooth, the interior finish and features are simply exquisite. The virtual cockpit is a big winner. It's one thing when you're seeing it in the showroom, it's a totally different thing when you are driving and using it. The XC90 has a larger boot, and the semi-autonomous driving features are great; albeit best used on the highway and not so effective in city driving. If I had to describe it - Audi is up there with the German makes of MB and BMW, they are all the best at their game, assuming that game is football. Volvo is great too, just that they are playing billiards. Hope this comment helps someone make their decision!
That VOLVO is stunning.... The previous Q7 design looks better than this newer model. The Volvo looks clean and refreshing....like a proper SUV. The Q7 almost looks like a raised Hatchback....
I agree, Audi made some sexy cars a couple of years ago and has managed to ruin the design across almost all models. BMW ruined it with their lineup around 2004 but has started to recover a bit, still ugly interiors, Mercedes has been hit and misses across the years. Volvo has done the opposite with the newer models, from fugly as hell to sexy as hell imo.
Gilbertory just because it’s owned by a Chinese company doesn’t mean the car is going to be made in China. But I do understand what u mean about China.
+asupshik you make no sense ! it's true can you feel how boring this is? no effort no sensation as if we went to a car dealer and just looking at him talking or him tryna convince new moms on what car to buy. this is a youtube review for efffing sake. all these resources at his disposal to come up with shit like this
Had the XC90 Inscription for over a month now and it's a fantastic car. The pilot assist features are great and after a while they work in the background helping make your journey safer and more comfortable without even realising. I rarely use the full Pilot Assist function other than to impress/worry my passengers, but the lane assist feature works brilliantly. Would gladly buy this car all over again if I had to, which is a great commendation I guess.
in Canada we won't have the diesel engines so the under power diesel engine in Volvo won't matter. What would be my choice? I would go with Volvo. Safety is First anything else is secondary. You can always replace a car but life and well-being not so much. BTW I still own my 1998 Volvo S70 T5.
Single guy reviewing family SUVs, what could go wrong? As a parent, the first thing I want to know is how safe they are, which is not covered in this review.
Safety wise, Volvo has been the leader in driver/family safety since the beginning. They used to have commercials with elephants sitting on the Volvo and it would not budge. It kept all occupants safe and sound!
Not much difference in safety performance for price range like these two cars, it's like 97 to 99. Volvo has better active safety equipment such as auto braking and lane keeping on highway or so, but, I don't consider those equipment as necessarily things, won't need these thing if you are a rational driver who focus on driving.
+Isak Wincent In Euro NCAP tests, Volvo got 97% driver safety to Q7's 94%, but child safety the Q7 edged it 88% to 87%. The Volvo was far higher in the Safety Assist category: speed assistance, seat belt reminder, AEB Interurban etc.
I agree with "Isak Wincent" the Volvo XC90 SUV. Volvo is most famous for the safety of its cars and the innovative features it develops to keep occupants as safe as possible followed by Volvo V40 hatchback & rang rover.
I have the xc90 t8 r design and it's so much fun, did a 0-60 in it the other day, 5.7 seconds. a polestar is due and I won't hesitate to get it done :)
Although the XC90 has more aggressive styling in the front I still think the rear looks horrendous, all that red plastic just ruins the look of the vehicle for me. I agree the Q7 is a little boring, but I think it looks pretty sleek when adding the S Line package in white with 21" wheels. I've test driven both vehicles and while the XC90 is slightly more comfortable and looks better I have to give ride and performance to the Q7, it just felt like more premium overall. I feel most here haven't test driven either vehicle and are just basing their choice on looks, sorry but the Q7 is just the better vehicle, hands down.
I agree man. It isn't even a contest in my eyes. Audi looks like a mini-Van while the XC90 looks like an actual SUV. Plus that center console... 😍 I am trying to decide on the XC90, X5 or Cayenne and it's a very very hard choice.
Adam Reichl It's useless and lame console btw. Keep drinking Volvo cool-aid. X5 is not a bad car either, but with weaker engine. worse handling and outdated electronics. And reliability is very bad. XC90 is underpowered half-baked car. Only thing they could make decent is exterior design. That's it. What can you expect from bankrupt company who is owned by Chinese now?
Adam Reichl Waiting for Q7. Demand for it is insane. Some people we'll get their cars in June. It's hard to get it with right options. I test drove both of them. Audi beats Volvo in all departments except for exterior. Drives much better. better comfort, new generation of active safety and virtual cockpit are just one generation ahead of everything. XC90 is easy to get right now even after release. X5 is... X5. I thought about buying it,but 3rd row option is hard to find as well and car itself is not as fun and practical as Q7. Though it's cheaper with comparable options. Reliability is super bad.
Beautiful review for some beautiful SUVs. Personally, I'd take the Volvo simply for it's personality and stunning design. There's no denying the Q7 is a lovely car, it's just a bit dull for me.
Audi is my favourite car brand, I just love all of their new models, but I’m sad to say, the XC90 would be my choice, I love the interior of the Q7, but I agree with the reviewer, the XC90 is so spacious and like a spa
I'd also take the Audi. I like the classic styling of the new model. The greatest undoing for the Volvo in my opinion is that 2.0 L engine. Even with the turbos, it's still insufficient. I know a lot of Volvo fans have fallen for its looks which are quite appealing TBH. But the reality is, the Audi look is more classic. It's like a pair of jeans. I can drive out in the Audi even 10 years to come and still feel classy; the Volvo on the other hand is fashionable at the moment but in a few years to come, a better design will have come up that will make the current one look a bit dated.
+Gitonga Kelvin And you do realize that the current design of Volvo's greenhouse and that diagonal slash on the grille has been around for a decade now. Personally the Audi's going to look dated faster since the design elements of the grille's very common already. Ford Hyundai Toyota Kia Chevy and other manufacturers are already adoption that hexagonal grille, so do expect people to get tired of that design element faster.
Ciro my man, you are talented at this presentation stuff. Great episodes ALWAYS - wish you guys nothing but success in coming days, weeks, years etc etc lol
I'm so happy to have seen this review. Extremely well done! These are the 2 cars I'm looking at right now in Canada... My wife wants the Volvo (the safety thing..you know.. for the kids). But on the other hand I just cant see myself pulling my Ducati to the track on the trailer with the Volvo. But I guess I will need to get over that...and probably go with your recommendation for "families" (btw I have 3 kids!). Thank again. Cheers!
+Francois Lafortune The XC90 has been raking in the awards for a reason, it's truly a fantastic package. If you want a sportier look, buy the R-Design option on the Volvo...:)
Good review. I am one of those lucky XC90-owners and I have a few things to say regarding this "competition" since I used 2 be a hardcore Audifan.....maybe I still am...I dont know, anyhow: I am so satisfied with my XC90 its almost silly. I will try to list what I really like and MAYBE a list of what I dislike.....hopefully it can be of some help in case your thinkin about gettin on 4 yourself....so here goes: LIKE: 1. Quality and feel of the car and espacially the interior......as great as in Audis. Thats a first! 2. Safety: Havin 2 kids in the back and knowing this IS THE SAFEST CAR for my children, period.....well, enough said! 3. Stereosound is brilliant. Means a lot to me, maybe not for others though. 4. D5 dieselengine is only 2.0 with 4-cylinder but feels- and goes like a BIG 6-cylinder. It really does. 5. The looks! 6. Comfort is super-great, dont understand some sayin there are issues with the ride......omg. If this car isnt comfortable I dont know what is!? 6. and again: SAFETY! I know, but come on: ITS A GAMECHANGER......... A true tank made out of swedish VIKING-steel. You can´t go wrong with that, accidents DO happen. DISLIKE: 1. ACC: 3 times last six month the car puts the heater on even though its like a million degrees hot....hopefully Volvo can fix that with some software-updatdes. Probably a sensor goin nuts. 2. Fuel-economy. Volvo says 0.57 L/10 km. (dont know miles/gallon figures....). Mine has an average about 0.82. OK, I knew that 0.57 wasnt to be trusted from the beginnin, but still..... Well, all in all it is a fantastic car and the ride is soooo nice. Did I mention that people turn their heads around! I know, but hey, I´m just a man :)
Nice review. Cross-shopped both and ended up with the Audi. Wholeheartedly don't agree on engine feeling bigger than it is in the Volvo (felt underpowered for a car heavier than the Q7), or safety, which is matched in the Q7 (see test data) but some good comments. I got the 3d sound system upgrade in mine because music matters right?!
I went in both cars at the autoshow, and the Audi just feels so much more solid and those gadgets are just so cool. The Volvo, it is beautiful, but I don't like the engine, and it wouldn't give me that optimistic feeling the Audi delivers. It just gets the job done the way I see it, but the Audi seems a lot more satisfying. They're both great SUV's, it all just comes down to personal preference(s). I don't think we need to cause a storm up in here, we should just applaud noth manufacturers for creating these amazing SUV's.
+Nicholas Matthews Audi really is for those who appreciate studying and getting to know all of those extensive gadgets buttons and knobs inside their car; Basically for those who wouldnt mind the learning curve. But the Volvo touchscreen's so intuitive and very ipad-like.
This guy doesn't know what he is talking about. the Volvo I test drove momentum had panoramic sunroof Volvo is Awesome the seats alone are amazingly comfortable and ride is great really quiet interior misses on Volvo is the infotainment system they have a cloth in the console to wipe off the touch screen it gets smudgy annoying for me and that back cover to cover your stuff so no one can see it if you remove it there is no storage space for it. I said where can I put this thing he said in your garage, why would I want to do that?. The Audi doesn't come with all these feature it's extra at least on the old one 2015. I didn't test drive it.The best 3rd row seat I ever sat in is the Nissan QX60 tremendous space very easy to get into 3rd row the best ever , was not cramped @ 210 lbs 5-11. we put all of our luggage into 8 pieces we also had full load 3 individuals at over 200 plus lbs and 3 women 160lbs each lot of weigh on car which put a drag on it traveling down Florida hwy. Not sure of its reliability though..
48petey Yeah man I was in a q7 and xc90 both at similar price and the volvo offered so much more luxurious things like the fridge with champagne. and the build quality of the volvo still was better than the audi one and i think that white black interior is just a real breakthrou especially the steering wheel is gorgous
Both nice. Audi has a much better engine, (diesel 3.0 or supercharged 3.0 vs Volvo's 2.0 diesel or gas turbo). Audi has a better ride and a lot more tech. Personal preference on the interior, (but I do not like touch screens with finger prints all over them). Volvo is less expensive, (as it should be). As they didn't get into the handling, rear seat comfort, more performance numbers, fuel economy, etc. Personally, if you live in an area with hills or mountains or plan to tow a boat or some type of trailer, you will be limited with the Volvo as that 2.0 will have limited tow capabilities. At the end, pick what you like as they both are nice vehicles.
In the US, the XC90 T8 Inscription (with all options including massaging seats and Bowers Wilkins sound system) is going for about $68,000 after dealer discounts and PHEV rebate. A similarly specced Q7 will cost more than 80k, while a similarly priced Q7 will lack the Volvo's bells and whistles. And even though the Volvo is cheaper, it has a more stylish interior, better infotainment system, better gas mileage, better acceleration, and a semi-autonomous driving system. The main advantages of the Q7 are the handling and ride quality, but the Volvo isn't bad in those two categories by any means. The Q7 is a great car, but I think it's a bit too overpriced. And for 90k USD fully loaded (all option boxes checked), it's just not worth it.
Great review. It's a shame UK car media is just Top Gear, which should be classed as comedy not factual. Your review is informative with just enough humour.
Really thinking of buying the XC90 soon but what is the strongest diesel, was it the one they where testing here? The nicest looking car today! What a amazing interior!
buttons are much better and redundant design. easy and cheaper to replace. screen in only fun until it fails and when it does, every function is suddenly gone
Those statements are very carefully given. Build quality wise I think Q7 is better than XC90. I'm XC90 owner and I can feel the difference. But XC90 is just so unique. And the B&W system makes the interior so much more luxurious.
Excellent, excellent(!) review. So wonderfully nuanced, informative and cheery, I can't believe you weren't recruited for the new Top Gear on BBC2. Well done.
The Q7 is the superior winner. Yes it may not look as elegant, as well as being more on the expensive side, but apart from that, everything about it is sublime. From the interior, to the ride quality, to the engine - it's just a joy to experience. Don't really understand why it's getting so much criticism. Maybe because it looks a bit too futuristic, but anyways, great car!
But in South Africa we get no incentives at all for buying hybrid or electric so to off set the much much higher initial purchase prices would take years.
both are great companies so thats actually really hard to decide. you can't go wrong with either but my money might go with B&W since they have more experience with speakers.
When you sit in a volvo you know that the car will do everything to protect you from every kind of danger . So i choose volvo ! Also volvo is made by people living 365 days in snow , that means (for me ) the know how to protect you from sliding . Also they know how important an awd system is in icy conditions !
You did a fantastic review on these vehicles. My wife and I are having twins and you definitely made our choice much easier. Thanks for your hard work on this review.
Akcelerace Videoblogy just got one last week getting another one in three month and I also have a regular q7 (I'm a car dealer) for myself and I also have the new Volvo s90
The statement "don't take the beige, because it gets easily dirty" can be dismissed. Use it since three years in my XC60 (the same as here in the XC90) and it is still great.
I got the T8 XC90 and quite honestly, it eats up the Q7 in every aspect. I drove both and to me, it offers much more performance, is much more quiet and gives me a feeling of Zen when driving. Whenever a Q7 is on my tail, I just let the 400 bhp speak for itself. Not a competition imo.
You can answer the cargo capacity this way (manufacturer supplied numbers): XC90 = 85.7 SF total (2426.7 litres) Q7 = 71.6 SF total (2027.5 litres) Factoring relative height/width/depth, one or the other might suit your needs better, absolute capacity not always being the deciding point. As to 2nd and 3rd row seating, the XC90 seems - as seen in other reviews - to offer easier in//out of that 3rd row. Also look at front/back motion for the 2nd row, reclining 2nd row, location of AC, storage etc for rear passengers. A passenger car asks you to see how well the passengers are accommodated.
Man! Your reviews are just amazingly beautiful. Top notch video editing skills coupled with breath-taking scenery! I love it. Can you include your music playlist in the video description?
good review but that the Q7 is 20% more expensive could have been made more clear, thats actually a huge difference. Also, am i understanding that the sale pitch for the 7seater Q7 suv from Audi is that its good for the driver? I think a proper test for a 7seater suv would be to have a quick mention on how it is driving, then have someone else drive you around and make the review from one of the other seats. Volvo shines in that aspect and thats why i think its a much better choice
I have a question for you please. I'm from Canada If I have to choose between Q7 and XC90 T6 Wich car you recommand me (is XC90 powerful) it's not V6 like Audi . I had a nightmare with Audi a6 avant 3,2 FSI . It's a nice car powerful but a lot of repair this why I'm buying soon a car and I'm confused between the 2 .I mean Q7 and Volvo XC90 . What's bother me in Volvo is the engine 2.0 is not powerful . than you. Your advice please
I'm so glad I got the pearl white xc90 r design 2016 now I want to find some good staggered rims/wheels for it I know it can enhance the sporty look a lot more..
+appleseedmvp I think you need to reread Mulkyan's original question regarding model of a particular Volkswagen (make) that has a wagon body style. There was no mention of Audi, idiots or dicks anywhere.
Why is everyone giving me stick about not knowing where cape town is? Not everyone or every culture knows where cape town is so you should all get over it or back off. Its not like I'm asking where is south Africa or asking where is London. Depending on your life and the things you have been exposed to its understandable if a person does not know this. Facepalm all you want. Bruh!
Nice review however, guys who don't have kids don't buy these kinda cars. It's a common sense... I've never been fan of Volvo and always liked Audi but in this race Volvo nailed it. It's a sheer winner... hands down. Better looking, more Space, better Pricing... It's a no brainer. Go for Volvo XC90. It's beautiful. It has won all the possible awards that an automotive industry can give out for any vehicle in a year. Looked at Volvo, Range Rover, Jaguar, Mercedes, Porsche, Audi, Lexus, Acura, Cadillac, Buick, etc. and ended up deciding on XC90 Volvo...2016/2017 SUV of the Year...
As a Swede, I really like the Volvo, got two of them myself (V70 and 855, and a SAAB 9-3), but the XC90 looks a bit bland, but upgrade to R-design and you get a really good looking Volvo.
Hope this comment helps someone make their decision!
That VOLVO is stunning....
The previous Q7 design looks better than this newer model.
The Volvo looks clean and refreshing....like a proper SUV.
The Q7 almost looks like a raised Hatchback....
I don't think you even considered the safety features on the Volvo, I would go for the xc90 every single time!
got an xc90,just got back from a road trip from Vancouver b.c. to las vegas,toL.A. and back with my kids it eats hwy miles extremely comfy.
The volvo looks more luxurious that the audi.
*Volvo wins on design... Audi used to have great curves and sexy lights but its too angular now, the sexiness is gone :(*
I agree Neil it was the flag ship of luxury SUV ( In my opinion ) but now :( a lot should be "standard" by now.
Exactly!!!
Chunk (from the goonies lol) yeah, that rear end on the Volvo is minging. Quite like the front, but I love everything about the Q7.
I agree, Audi made some sexy cars a couple of years ago and has managed to ruin the design across almost all models. BMW ruined it with their lineup around 2004 but has started to recover a bit, still ugly interiors, Mercedes has been hit and misses across the years. Susan D I do too
I think the Volvo XC90's interior looks better then the q7.
+Ludwig Sjoe Haha, Wow
I've driven both. I went for the XC90 but, God, the engine in the Q7 was magically smooth and powerful. Wish Volvo had an equivalent.
I'd take the Volvo. just because.
I leaned more towards Q7. Reason being the grill was awkward looking and Volvo is owned by a Chinese company. I maybe prejudice.
Gilbertory just because it’s owned by a Chinese company doesn’t mean the car is going to be made in China. But I do understand what u mean about China.
@@Gilbertory thats just a fake story that someone made up but I understand that you think so tho

But the diesel motors are the strongest with most torque.
The diesel engines are great for pulling stuff to.
I own 2009 xc90 D5 I love volvo true family cars and with 5 cylinder engines powerfull and great sounding too

The new Q7 looks boring, the previous version looked more aggressive and muscular. I do however like the interior in the q7.
I wouldn't have used "STD" as an abbreviation for standard... Still, nice video
XC90 for the win
The Volvo is way better looking
Volvo xc90 is a better car. End of discussion ! ;)
I don't think so lol
It is the better car! Because there’s a T8 excellence

id take volvo, audi has some really expensive maintenance costs and they depreciate like a rock hitting the bottom of the pool.
Volvo is also very expensive to maintain, almost as much as Audi
TheCh0wderp But they dont break as often and depreciate as much as audi's or bmw's
+doodskie999 really? when i think of reliability and quality i think of a diesel audi... (they'll both depreciate no matter)
+doodskie999 actually from what I've seen, XC90's depreciate a lot. The depreciation is way worse than the Q7.
TheCh0wderp not in my country, plus seeing a volvo is rare, everyone is toyota, audi, bmw or mercedes
Audi is my favourite car brand, I just love all of their new models, but I’m sad to say, the XC90 would be my choice, I love the interior of the Q7, but I agree with the reviewer, the XC90 is so spacious and like a spa

+Francois Lafortune Great to hear. The Volvo is a top-notch 7-seater, that's for sure. Keep in touch and let us know how your purchase goes.
Seriously, Audi's are so common and unsophisticated in the UK. People with very little taste drive them.
+Francois Lafortune Greetings from Sweden. I don't think you will be disappointed. My friend bought a XC90 and he is very satisfied with the car.
+Francois Lafortune The XC90 has been raking in the awards for a reason, it's truly a fantastic package. If you want a sportier look, buy the R-Design option on the Volvo...:)
+Francois Lafortune I agree. Even a T6 R-Design with 22" wheels + adaptive suspension + Polestar is still...a Volvo. Great car though.
This guys does some of the best car reviews I've seen. So glad I found this channel!
I prefer the Volvo, especially regarding safety issues.
Have you researched this hypothesis? The Q7 scores for safety pretty much match the Volvo.
Very good video 👍. These are exactly the two vehicles I'm torn between. Thanks 😊
thanks for hybrid CKD incentive in my country,XC90 T8 Inscription Plus (highest spec available) price just cost 66% of Audi Q7 price.
Good review. I am one of those lucky XC90-owners and I have a few things to say regarding this "competition" since I used 2 be a hardcore Audifan.....maybe I still am...I dont know, anyhow:
I am so satisfied with my XC90 its almost silly. I will try to list what I really like and MAYBE a list of what I dislike.....hopefully it can be of some help in case your thinkin about gettin on 4 yourself....so here goes:
LIKE:
DISLIKE:
Ive seen number of your reviews and have to say . they are some of the best I've seen on TH-cam . Im Subscribing :)
Great review and the landscape shots are terrific. Well done!
Great review. It's a shame UK car media is just Top Gear, which should be classed as comedy not factual. Your review is informative with just enough humour.
There are many great car channels from the UK which are not Top Gear!
Hey lovely city , could u please mention the name of the city and by the way the XC 90 should b the winner
+Alabhaya Tandon Hello! We are in Cape Town, South Africa.
+cars.co.za You should've mentioned whether the Q7 is worth the extra price or not. Other than that, nice review.
Really thinking of buying the XC90 soon but what is the strongest diesel, was it the one they where testing here? The nicest looking car today! What a amazing interior!
volvo is much better looking.... and oh god that mess inside audi... so many buttons.... nope. xd
lightgorm Yeah the buttons are history
buttons are much better and redundant design. easy and cheaper to replace. screen in only fun until it fails and when it does, every function is suddenly gone
ye you are right they are cheaper lmao :D screen can't fail bro.. maybe they can crack if you throw something at it....
Those statements are very carefully given. Build quality wise I think Q7 is better than XC90. I'm XC90 owner and I can feel the difference. But XC90 is just so unique. And the B&W system makes the interior so much more luxurious.
+Liang Yan thanks so much for the comment, it's always great to hear feedback from an owner.
Excellent review. I shared pretty much all of your insights on both vehicles after back to back test drives. Thanks for your input!
Just ordered Volvo XC90 inscription. Can't wait.
What country is that, place looks scenic as fuck?!
+16jker Thank you, it is quite lovely here. We're based in Cape Town, South Africa.
Home
Who gives a duck about the scenery when you can look at the Volvo XC90 :P
South Africa - he does mention "Rand" as the currency
What beach/promenade was that at the end with the waves?
Like the way you guys accentuate some history facts, it's interesting and NEW! Like the pre-conomcal crisys design etc. Nice video!
Saw this video and must say great and compact review! You have a new subscriber! Greetings from Germany
+gorerix Thank you, we hope you'll enjoy the rest of our videos
Why not the XC90 T8 model? I was wondering how that fares against the Audi in terms of cabin noise.
+David “ohTHATdude” Middleton sadly the T8 has not reached SA yet, however we are looking forward to testing it.
+Cars.co.za looking forward to seeing that for sure
Great review,i am subscribed. And nice footage!Where is this place?
+Igor Begovič Hi there and thanks for the comment. We're based in Cape Town, South Africa.
+Igor Begovič Indeed, I also just wanted to comment that the scenery is beautiful!
"The ride is firm. It's very smooth, but it's definitely on the firm side."
wat
Paradox the most controversial car review I have ever seen. And q7 is always on the foreground! Looks like advertising
Paradox It's the truth that the Q7 has a better ride quality
Excellent, excellent(!) review. So wonderfully nuanced, informative and cheery, I can't believe you weren't recruited for the new Top Gear on BBC2.
Well done.
Amazing Review of two great cars - Greetings from Sweden! Subscribed :)
The Q7 is the superior winner. Yes it may not look as elegant, as well as being more on the expensive side, but apart from that, everything about it is sublime. From the interior, to the ride quality, to the engine - it's just a joy to experience. Don't really understand why it's getting so much criticism. Maybe because it looks a bit too futuristic, but anyways, great car!
like the review but why not compare the xc90 T8? the volvo is surely much cheaper to drive. specially in tax climates as the Netherlands.
But in South Africa we get no incentives at all for buying hybrid or electric so to off set the much much higher initial purchase prices would take years.
Great work! First video i saw from you and i'm thrilled - keep on your good work! :)
What sound system is better, the Bang & Olufsen in the Audi Q7 or the Bowers & Wilkins in the VolvoXC90?
both are great companies so thats actually really hard to decide. you can't go wrong with either but my money might go with B&W since they have more experience with speakers.
The Audi already looks dated.
Are bulletproof windows extra or standard in South Africa?
+Papa They are optional. Flame throwers come standard though.
I'd rather have the Volvo
When you sit in a volvo you know that the car will do everything to protect you from every kind of danger . So i choose volvo ! Also volvo is made by people living 365 days in snow , that means (for me ) the know how to protect you from sliding . Also they know how important an awd system is in icy conditions !
You did a fantastic review on these vehicles. My wife and I are having twins and you definitely made our choice much easier. Thanks for your hard work on this review.
+Michael Chen Great to hear, thank you. Let us know what it's like living with your purchase.
great clip. solved my problem just right. Thank you :D
Beautifully shot video and a detailed review, well done.
Great review! Beautiful scenery too (from Vancouver BC)
Great review. Thank you. I have decided to buy SQ7
Akcelerace Videoblogy just got one last week getting another one in three month and I also have a regular q7 (I'm a car dealer) for myself and I also have the new Volvo s90
the q7 is awesome ... only wish it were little more eye catching on the outside
One Audi for me!! Audi is pure love ❤️
I would choose Volovolo all the way.
The statement "don't take the beige, because it gets easily dirty" can be dismissed. Use it since three years in my XC60 (the same as here in the XC90) and it is still great.
Congrats to the designers at Volvo!
+Joris De Groot
An XC90 with T8 is a roadmonster :) Eats every Q7 in its way
An SQ7'll eat your Volvo for breakfast.
Nope...this cannot end in a draw...that Volvo is so so so much sexier compared to the Audi...great review btw...
Hey, nice reviews guys !
By the way, can someone tell me the title of the music at 8'07" pls ?
any beige interior gets dirty really quickly.. c'mon man..
+Tomskii5 there is option for black interior . c'mon man u sound so stupid
hasta la vista baby that's not even the point I'm trying to make. Watch the review, you'll know what I was reacting to.
I've owned a '04 XC90 T6 beige interior for twelve years and it did not get dirty under normal use...c'mon man.

Well hello fake news
You can answer the cargo capacity this way (manufacturer supplied numbers):
XC90 = 85.7 SF total (2426.7 litres)
Q7 = 71.6 SF total (2027.5 litres)
Factoring relative height/width/depth, one or the other might suit your needs better, absolute capacity not always being the deciding point.
As to 2nd and 3rd row seating, the XC90 seems - as seen in other reviews - to offer easier in//out of that 3rd row. Also look at front/back motion for the 2nd row, reclining 2nd row, location of AC, storage etc for rear passengers. A passenger car asks you to see how well the passengers are accommodated.
am impressed with the production quality....
great unbiased test, you tested the things that actually matter day to day in a car .commended
XC90 also came with the T8 2L twin turbo and super charger and hybrid at full power pushing out 400bhp double the D5
Great review well done man...thoroughly enjoyed it!
I'll keep my mountain bike for now...
Amazing review! Amazing reviewer! Amazing cars! And HOME!
Would love to see you guys reviewing the new discovery. Good quality vids. 👍
what do you think? should i sell my land rover discovery 4 for the new inscription XC90?
Really liking Car's new vehicle reviews.
Man! Your reviews are just amazingly beautiful. Top notch video editing skills coupled with breath-taking scenery! I love it. Can you include your music playlist in the video description?
Fantastic review, did complete justice to the cars.
What are the background music, please! 😁❤️
good review but that the Q7 is 20% more expensive could have been made more clear, thats actually a huge difference.
Why are your reviews so good??
What's the model of that dark brown volkswagen station wagon?
+Mulkyan it's a volkswagen station wagon like u just mentioned, idiot.
+appleseedmvp That would be the make, not the model
FasterThanSoup Since when Audi is a model? Some people just need to grow up and don't be a dick.
+appleseedmvp I think you need to reread Mulkyan's original question regarding model of a particular Volkswagen (make) that has a wagon body style. There was no mention of Audi, idiots or dicks anywhere.
Arven Tahtyan 😂😂😂
What is the exchange rate of the rand to the Australian Dollar?...
At the moment, 1 Australian Dollar will get you R11 South African Rand.
Thank you....
I'd definitely go for Volvo. Minimalistic interior design and the safety features.
I like your dialect, sounds posh and elegant kinda
In XC 90 is it possible to remove the middle seat in the second row for easy access to rear?!!!
nice cars but what a beautiful place!!!!!!
+Dawid Sidlo that's Cape Town for you...
+Cars.co.za
Cape town where? seems like europe since you are driving on the other side of the road?
+theach8 Cape Town, South Africa
+theach8 LOL this whole comment.. facepalm
