  • Carlinkit T2C allows Apple Carplay and Android Auto through its native browser! You can use Google Maps, Waze, Uber Driver, Lyft Driver, and much more now on the screen of your tesla! And it can work WITHOUT A SIM CARD!!!

The info in your “Review” section is incredibly helpful, and is missing from 99% of the other videos out there regarding this product. yet it is the most important information! THANK YOU!

Any idea why my phone calls do not play through the car speakers> Waze works fine, Sirius plays from my phone via bluetooth through the car speakers...just no phone call audio.

You can’t use tesla voice commands with these devices

Mine just arrived today, and I have installed it and checked it out. Thanks for walking us through these instructions, which made it very easy to get up and running.
I noticed a setting to run in either standard resolution or high resolution, or “Auto”. Any reason there is a choice here? The “high” looks so much better than standard.
I’m not having the best luck with Siri controls, but otherwise it is pretty interesting

Can you listen to music with regular radio or from the USB flash drive using this setup? Must you listen to the music from your phone or Carplay?

If you run the usb power through a usb switchbox, and you attach the switchbox to the side of the center console, it will work as an easy to use on/off for the device.

My issue has been that it will sometimes not connect to my phones hot spot , not really sure how to automate it working once I get in. I have automated the hotspot turning on once I connect to the cars bluetooth but it is un reliabke

I have the non-SIM version and after updating the firmware it works pretty well although at times it will flash the screen off and on again. On long drives it drops out completely after a few hours. Overall I’m happy with it but if you expect reliable plug and play and aren’t techie then you may become frustrated. I’m optimistic that they will keep up with firmware updates as their tech support was responsive within 24 hrs. It just goes to show that Tesla could very easily have CarPlay as a third party was able to do it so I’m sure between Apple and Tesla it would have been a snap.

I have felt the same, I just updated last night but I do see where you need to be techie with this as it’s not a simple plug-and-play. My internet browser keeps on going away but I’m overall happy with it too! Yes they can easily do native CarPlay on Tesla, but it seems it’s a choice not to include it.

@@Side_Tech I have concluded today that the device has an issue with heat retention. I do a lot of long distance driving and the unit behaves well on departure but after about an hour and a half it disconnects and refuses to reconnect even if disconnected from power, forgetting device and setting up from scratch. The unit feels warm at that time. After disconnecting from power for 15-20 minutes and it feels cool again it connects immediately and works fine. I’m going to let their support know.

Have not been on a road trip with it yet so that’s something that has yet to come up on my side, but thank you for reporting it! Hopefully that fixes the issue!

What phone are you running? I'm on a iPhone 14 Pro w/ public beta 16.6 and all I get is a blank black screen when I go to the web page

iPhone 14 pro max w/ public beta 16.6. You need to make sure it’s connected to the internet through SIM card/ hotspot first and then connect via Wi-Fi to the car. Without internet I believe it’s a black screen

    Hey,
I just got the car link and I’m having issues with getting the device to stay connected after I leave the car. Based on what I’m hearing everything should reconnect and I just need to go to the site and everything should appear. Any tips or tricks to keep me connected all the time?

    • @Side_Tech

It can depend. Are you using your phones hotspot or a SIM card? And do you have sentry mode on during the times when you leave the car?

      You have to also
Connect your phone to the cars bluetooth and use bluetooth as an audio source

HI . You may know if you can install other apps on this carlinkit for tesla . I got stuck with only the apps that are installed. Is it possible to make a video about the list of all the apps that can be installed? Thank you!

If the apps on your phone support CarPlay then they will appear there. WhatsApp is supported for example.

I find that when touching the screen to scroll between apps, the Tesla keyboard comes up blocking the screen….. very annoying…. I’ve stopped using it

I haven’t seen that on my side. Is it the keyboard of Tesla or CarPlay?

      @@Side_Tech it's the Tesla Keyboard.

Does anyone know what the most current firmware is? I managed to connect a different device to the update page, and I am running 23061210.1508.1. Under Checking for Updates, I only get a spinning wheel continuously.
