I been running this build for weeks and it is most awesome. For some reason though, if you tell people in game you are running a one bar tank build, there is a lot of push back, mostly from the "One bar tanks are missing team buffs and debuffs..." etc... crowd. I also used The Crimson (not the Crimson Oath) armor and Leeching armor set. very unkillable
People are dumb, I have stop to listen to anyone when creating my builds. Ask those people, what exactly you are missing? At least 2 of 5 abilities backbar are covered by Oaken Soul (Major Resolve, Major Brutality). So what you are missing? 1.2k extra penetration from backbar enchant? Covered by Crimson Oath. Tiny ammount of dps from not having some dots? Covered by minior berserk and minior courage at all times. Extra heals? For what? 2 synergies? Not a game changer. What do we get instead? Simple build with great sustain and I take that any day!!
Alright this build was freakin solid and really reaalllyyy helped me getting into tanking, i felt like a badass with this tanking vet hard mode dungeons so far, now i want to take it to the next step, like 2 bar tanking, i would love a advanced tanking guide / build with update 36
My nord stam dk tank build is ready to gear up now, new to tanking as a whole but this seems accessible, thanks deltias im going to give this a spin and hopefully the console players got a new tank for all the harder content in the future 😁
Just to let everyone know it is statically far superior sustain to go infused tri stat cost reduction on your neck and rings rather than triune or infused tri stat reduction on both rings + imperial race + infused mag cost reduction on the neck
For sets for tanking, I'd like to make honourable mentions for Shacklebreaker (craftable), and Alessian Order 'Heavy' (available in Guild traders), with the stamina recovery mundus stone.
I have been running all medium with powerful assault, azureblight, war machine, or orders wrath. Setup mine with just enough defense to get through what I’m doing but have huge deeps at the same time. Most dungeons i have done so far I was doing the most damage in the group and wasn’t even breaking a sweat to survive.
They need to add an AOE taunt to all tanking lines. Maybe just the fighters guild and 1H/shield skill lines. That would make tanking much easier and better for everyone involved. Yes, I’m aware of the tormentor set but a hard AOE taunt in a skill line would be great.
I am new to the game just slightly more than 2 months in game. The Dragon Knight Sword and Board Tank build is my main. I will only have three toons in game, one tank, one DPS and one healer so I can fill any role and I can play each toon enough to stay familiar and competent with them. It is funny how similar our builds are but I have been playing with a small group of friends so I have not done any PVP or trials yet. I am currently running the Hatchling's shell set which I think a lot of people overlook. It gives a damage shield that absorbs 10376 damage every six seconds. That is 103,760 damage absorbed every minute. I use Absorb Missile as an ability that gives me a damage shield of 16,077 for six seconds making that 160,770 a minute. Lastly I use Hardened Armor with increases my physical and spell resistance by 5948 for 20 seconds and a damage shield of 16,607 for 6 seconds. I will cast that three times a minute so that is 49,821 damage absorbed a minute for a total of 314,351 damage absorbed every minute. With hardened armor I am sitting at 49.9% resistance which is only .1% below the maximum. I am running Ebon and Nights silence as my other sets as these were the sets that became available to me. With my current setup in regular dungeons I am basically unkillable. My health rarely comes off 100% I have seen it dip to 92% by my self heals put it right back up. Maintaining aggro in this game is beyond simple. My question is how much DPS should tanks be doing while holding onto aggro. I am only doing between 5 and 7k. I have no idea if this is good or not.
Making my 1st tank. Don’t know if I will like the rol but I’ll try. First of all I want to have one because I love to make gold in plunder runs craglorn trials and often tanks are not available The one bar is ideal to see if you like the rol. And then you can make a 2 bar complete tank in my opinion. Ty!

Trust me if you new to the game and basically study no mechanics and just run thru all content leeching plate 5 body mothers sorrow weapon , ring and neck , oaken soul or a 3rd sorrow jewellery . If oak run sorrow shoulders and Kraghs helm or if no monster sets just any 1 piece really. Mag Templar High Elf. Punc for main dps and if your running low on mana from spamming it hild heavy attacks 2 heavy’s and your back in the game , leeching keeps you alive while you heavy attacking. Simple not great DPS but for all content you can do all with this. Your talent restricts what you can’t. I can’t finish final stage of Maelstrom on vet but now I know mechanics I will easy. Easy mode dungeon clearer and solo any world boss. Good for beginners to farm sets and get gold etc.
Oh yeah I'm not new to the game. I main tank all the time. Pretty much any content. I like leeching plate though. For beginners/intermediate it's a good solid set. I'm a big fan of claw of yolnakrin and turning tides with nazary right now
I have a question for you. First thank you for all your had work and love your new setup (was telling my husband...he had Nebraska football displayed in back!!)...he loved it. We both are from NE. Anyways on to the question, I am seeing that there is Medium armor buff for the passives but there are no medium pieces on this build. Am I missing something here or do the passives still work even without a piece? Thank you again in advance.
Haven't been on in a year, lost sight of my build having only reached level 17. Trying to figure out if I should continue that build or try out this one. Currently, from what I remember, it was a dunmer magicka DK build with double staff.
Quick question, I use leeching plate and alessians on my tank, going to switch to prayer shawl. Do you guys know if leeching procs it with leeching constantly healing you?
I'd personally believe it wouldn't due to the golden rule of "a proc cannot proc another proc". However it shouldn't be too hard to proc with the right setup either way if you're with a halfway decent healer.
correct me if i missed it but are all of your attributes in hp , i was looking at them and it looks like it or did you put any in stam also would this 1 bar build work in all content? vet dungeons, trials?

@@whereswaldo9089 helps them never learn the game. And we will end up with them as our tanks, heals and dds in a dung or trial. Try explaining to a 1500+ cp player that they need 2 bars and to provide certain stuff to the group when they have never bar swaped.
@@PELPIDAS it's called playing a game. dungeons are easy as hell you don't need no top end group that knows what there doing easily can carry. And who is going to have 1 bar builds in a top raid group? No one is unless their pug groups/guilds.
Please stop making one bar builds it's ridiculous and any support one bar build player is always and will always be kicked from my group and guild so just cut it out Please

tank don't need stam recovery, when u block u don't have stam recovery, take atronach, better to have magicka sustain, if u need stamina, make HaH

Still love Tormenter and Rush of agony to keep all taught and control for fewer recourses and more control.

Drakes rush is another really good option in 4 man stuff if no one is using oakensoul

You need to make your Stam higher than your mag so you restore Stam when synergizing orbs for instance. (restores whichever is higher)
