    I used to have a hard time explaining what is is i do, without being made fun of. BUT MAN... imagine saying you keep so many shrimp in so many tanks! I don't envy you my friend, but i certainly do salute what you do. Keep going! What a great video showcasing what must be some of the best shrimp tanks on youtube. Sorry i'm late to the video! To be fair, this is my second time watching this video! I feel like if i told you the tanks looked "empty"... you would smirk and question me with "Oh are they? look closer." I love it. one of My fav tanks of all time was a 10G shrimp tank with java moss and some cherries i kept on my kitchen counter! Thanks for taking the time to make such an immersive video. loved it.

    I had cataract surgery on both eyes when I was in my mid thirties. I know that is young to have them, but it was due to congenital diabetes. Anyway, for me it was like that scene in the Wizard of Oz when the movie goes from black and white to colour. You dont realise just how bad your vision has become until after the surgery - it's like the world comes alive again instead of being covered in a foggy grey. My lenses are set to long distance so I need magnifying glasses to be able to focus on anything that is within a meter of my face. Been almost 20 years since my surgeries and eyes are still great.

    I had to move a bunch of babies out of my tank into a different holding spot (a month or so old now) and i hate to say it but I essentially rinsed them out of the tank and into a strainer, i didn't have casualties directly from the process more from my attempts at netting them and falling gravel because i didn't get all of it out. They were all out uninjured and they settled in to their new surroundings at about the same pace as the adults. I really wouldn't recommend it unless you desperately need to take them out like if you already sprung a leak but I thought I'd put my bit of shrimp keeping malpractice out there

    Awesome Tanks! I'm working on a shrimp only tank, as I lost too many in my main 15 gallon tank. Random deaths, and wondering if possible soil being shifted and causing ammonia bubbles. I do less water changes and take my time to make sure I do no cause any premature molts, if possibly that has been causing some deaths. Definitely subcribing.

    • @MarksShrimpTanks
      @MarksShrimpTanks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I meant to say massive shrimp death syndrome, right now its just a theory, in soft water tanks once the substrate is finished, there is an issue with ammonia becoming toxic and it kills a lot of shrimp.
      In harder water tanks it can be a problem but no where near as bad because the fix is simple water changes.
      In a softwater tank the fix would be add some more soil or restart the tank.
