I love how it's a fantasy version of the three of them: the dog in his armor, a fierce warrior Hansi, and Martina with her vibrant hair and potion bottles, and even her missing finger. ♥️
I've been watching Nerdforge for at least a year at this point and I didn't realize Martina was missing a finger until I read this comment and got very confused- I guess I was always too focused on the art project to notice lakdshg
Hansi and Martina did a QnA on Instagram at the beginning of the year and she said that her finger was "eaten by a tablesaw while renovating the house". I think they also mentioned a rough date but I don`t remember that one
For me it was quite funny (as an artist who works a lot with spraypaint) to see you testing out all the caps. I feel like most people underestimate how difficult working with this is. Was a struggle for me too at first and it actually needs a lot of practice as every new art medium needs, but you will get the hang of it. Mostly it's control of the pressure you put on the cap, working quick to not have too much paint in one spot and using your whole bodyflow to make cleaner lines. Learning which caps and which cans work best for what you want to achieve is of coursetime consuming, but also very worth it. And of course as I said lots and lots of practice... You did pretty well for your first time though.
Spray painting looks incredibly difficult. I am so like this tho "let me take on an epic task in a medium I've never used and spend butt loads of money doing it" then reality hits and I realize just how deep I jumped into the water 😂. It turned out absolutely beautifully
I love how you gave the New Thing your best with effort and research. Then you acknowledged that it was a skill that was hard to master WITHOUT degrading yourself. Then you went back to what you know well in a good headspace. And showing that process on camera is way cooler than the final result! Great role model moment
@Bbblackpenguin Well, the less talented you are, the more time you can spent on a project. The only thing you really need is dedication and the discipline to pull through. And maybe a hint of perfectionism helps as well. Granted, it will always turn out better, if you are also "talented" on top. But anyone can gather skill and muster discipline :)
@Bbblackpenguin Art is a skill not a talent. Her art is great because she spend a ton of time and practice to improve her skill. Also not sure why you felt the need to write such a snobby answer in the first place, drawing conclusions that are based on nothing from one comment.
The thing about graffiti is that it's not meant really to do small integrate designs, and they are meant to be looked from afar. The fact that you made such detailed design and _sorta_ stayed in the lines is incredible focus for the task.
this is not really traditional graffiti though with the markers and small brushes for the line work and all the masking with tape. heck one might argue using a projector is kind of cheating. not that it really matters but this is more of a mixed medium art piece than true graffiti.
The painting turned out amazing. It would be really cool too, another painting behind the dioramas shelf, to "set the landscape", something like a sky at the end of the day, with that magical touch of red tones or even, since they are in the northern hemisphere, an aurora boreal. Congratulations on the amazing and inspiring work!
Seeing the finished product, there was no way you were going to achieve that level of detail and line work with just spray paint at any skill level. Having said that, combining both mediums and finishing it off with your strengths, you ultimately achieved something that you wouldn't have been able to do with just a brush. 10/10 for the beautiful hard work you put into the project and not giving up despite being frustrated at your earlier results. 😁

Man, watching the OG videos makes me glad you all switched gears because the stuff y’all do now is next level awesome. (OG stuff was cool too, but you get the point.)
For the first time EVER I'm watching a Nerdforge video where I can excitedly say, I get this because I've done it! Had a mural painting business years ago; the largest single mural I did was 1800 square feet (American here, I know. Feet vs meters! 🙄) on the back wall of a gymnasium, don't know how many sq feet total I've painted... Was so impressed with this! I love it! It truly captures the spirit of who you all are and what you do and create! What a fantastic mural! (Okay. I looked it up - 167 sq meters!) I miss painting murals. Unfortunately, 2 hip replacements later and arthritis in all the rest of my joints, I'm down to painting canvasses in my studio, no ladders or scaffolding any more. But I'm still painting! Never give up, artists and makers! Give my love to Lord Nori!
LOL, in my town this exact company has a site where it produces the colors she used. They probably had problems translating some names of the product. Some sound goofy in German as well. Absolutely love how it turned out! Even more impressive as this was something new for you.

Great job, as always. As you've discovered, spray paints are better for large areas and gradients. Then finish up with brushes for details and crisp lines.
I've watched many of your video, and while I'm not an artist, I LOVE how you paint! It's like an architect building a home: Foundation, Frames, walls, trim, lighting, details, done. And along the way I watch what you're doing and sometimes think "OMG! What have you Done! That's terrible!", but as you go back, layer, refine, define and detail, it all works perfectly and just looks incredible in the end. Evidence that you know what you are doing and I do not! Wonderful work!
Your time and dedication to these projects are amazing 👏, also great that you've showing a new method(spray painting) and how hard it is to master as it gives a new respect to those like Ten Hundred. 👍
I was watching an episode of a show titled Count's Customs recently and was of his paint people used an airbrush and lace to lay a pattern out on the vehicle. It was a nice looking pattern when they were finished with it. They laid down a light color and allowed it to dry. They then laid out the lace and sprayed over it. Once that was dry it left that nice pattern.
I've only been watching for a few weeks, but I have to say you guys crank out *amazing* projects and possibly the best montages I've seen on the internet. Just from model making as a kid, I learned long ago masking tape and cardboard are your friends. They're really the best way to get sharp lines and control bleeding with spray paint, although people with years (decades?) of experience can do it freehand. Still, for your first time trying it, that was outstanding.

i started a large spray paint project with many details 2 days ago and ran into all the same issues you noted in this video. I thought maybe spray paints are just not for me or that maybe I'm just super bad at it. but having my struggle with the medium being validated by someone like you just reminded me that its just another medium and technique and I will need to practice it before I can be remotely good or ok at it. Thank you for posting this video and sharing the rawness of working with a new technique.
I’m m blown away!!😮 Unreal result! It’s a masterpiece! You always suprise us all with you artistic abilities! What ever you put you mind to you do it with amazing results!!
This is why I love TH-cam. So Super talented people like you can do this stuff for a living. Started on your PS5, Xbox and Pc videos but now im just binging others.
Loved that you branched out into new materials and techniques you haven't tried before. The mural came out EPIC. I hope you continue experimenting with paint cans. Maybe the next time you do a big project with paint cans you could collaborate with a graffiti/paint can artist so they could demonstrate some of the techniques IRL to teach you while contriibuting to the piece. that would be epic
Nice bring the castles in front as it will make a nice backdrop and you can even add fluorescent touches here and there and add lights to make it pop some more, as for the spray paint adding straight edges is nearly impossible for a expert and you just started but keep practicing and you will get better!!!
I remember seeing some artists that had a couple curvy cardboard stencils that had concave and convex edges of varying curvature they would hold at various positions to mask out hard edges when spray-painting; I don't remember much of the actual technique, but those swirly shapes kinda left an impression
I agree with a lot of the other comments. You did a great job combining the two mediums. I hope you keep trying new things that are out of your normal comfort zone, it is one of the best ways to grow.
The spray paint was cool to watch you you use, but you are in your element from the minute you picked up a brush to implement your magic onto that mural. Bravo! It’s a joy just to watch you create something, anything, really. You are very talented and an inspiration to ALL of your followers!
Excellent work as always!! I love how influenced by anime this project was. Definitely different than your usual, but so cool. And Hans as a samurai - *chef kiss*
I use spray cans for painting models. I found that for crisp lines you should mask the area, and start with light colors and progress to the darker hues. I even have used that technique for a very large matte painting for an amateur film. It works.
My God the mural is beautiful. If I may suggest, there are those cheap Ikea side tables that you can get pretty much free or dirt cheap if people are moving out or something. Garage sales are always contain hidden gems. Main reason I suggest this is because I feel like with how big some of your projects are, they deserve their own little space to be able to showoff your showcase better :D but my God this is amazing.
Thanks for another amazing video! I think Martina approached the piece more like a painting than a mural, there is so much small details and the outlines were so small. Also graffiti artists usually start from the top and then proceed to the bottom to avoid leaks showing in the work. I don't know much, but I think the mural turned out great so nothing really went wrong in the end. :)
"It looks so easy on video, how is it so hard in reality?"
Martina just realising how we all feel while watching her videos.

Add led undermount lights on the next shelf up
The effort it takes, jesus.
Ikrrr-
There is no shame in doing what works for you. No can master every new thing they try immediately. The fact that you tried is amazing.
i started a large spray paint project with many details 2 days ago and ran into all the same issues you noted in this video.
Wow! Martina, that looks incredible!!
Amazing work, an Idea some small spot lights shinning on your castles? would be cool if they where colored lights! thank you again love your channel!
You should make a little town of all the projects you’ve done!
glad that you included Nóri in the mural, would have been incomplete without him
Seen plenty of pros use stencils and even brushes for the fine detail work. This is amazing!
Would like to see you have another attempt at full spray paint work
Nice bring the castles in front as it will make a nice backdrop and you can even add fluorescent touches here and there and add lights to make it pop some more, as for the spray paint adding straight edges is nearly impossible for a expert and you just started but keep practicing and you will get better!!!
I hope you keep trying new things that are out of your normal comfort zone, it is one of the best ways to grow.
your skills are amazing, I can't wait for the next chapter to unfold.
It works.
THIS is why I love Nerdforge.....making magical things come to LIFE! the whole video was a beautiful experience 💕🦄🌈✨👽🌸👻🎮⚡
Now you have to add lighting to those shelves!!!
Amazing! How about some downward lighting on the shelf's? That would look so awesome as well, for a finishing touch!
Magnifique comme d'habitude j'adore ton travail fait avec amour félicitation
Thanks for another amazing video!
I think Martina approached the piece more like a painting than a mural, there is so much small details and the outlines were so small. Also graffiti artists usually start from the top and then proceed to the bottom to avoid leaks showing in the work.
I don't know much, but I think the mural turned out great so nothing really went wrong in the end. :)
13:58 I don’t know if anyone has noticed, but she even painted her pinky missing in the mural. I love your attention to detail.😊❤
I noticed!
