That's strange Robert, some days its the one the fish absolutely smash , but that why I tie the brown , tan and black mini daddies and give the fish what they want that day 👍🎣🐟
Hi Alec thanks for the advice I will certainly put a selection of these fly’s together we are up in Seahouses next Saturday for a week I’ll certainly be fishing at Chatton 🎣🎣🎣
Alec, i have a box full of your patterns, foam beetles, top hats in black and olive, black top hat emerger buzzers with the white spots on,sorry forgot the name but it matters not they catch fish as does the nothing fly (i still cant get my head around that one,the everything and nothing fly )and the mini daddies i have in black tan orange and light green chartreuse they are all a pleasure to tie for a beginner tyer, and i have confidence in fishing them which is a big part of the game. Thank you so much.
Thanks Paula , there are some fantastic fly tying artists out there , sadly I am not one of them 😢 But for me the only reason to tie them is to catch a fish when pleasure angling or in competitions , I let the fish decide if the fly is any good or not 👍🎣🐟
I have not seen a proper hatch this season. How many of you have experienced this? The prolonged sultry weather has played its part hut this has been a very odd season. Most of the fisheries around the central belt of Scotland have been extremely hard fishing this year. Guys that are normally into double figures on a regular basis are toiling to hook up more than a brace. I've certainly not seen many daddy's on the surface and on the occasions there has been the fish are just not interested. Another point swallows have been a rarity due to the lack of hatches. Is this just a localised thing? Every trout angler I've spoke to at other venues has said the same. It's been a funny year. Curious to know your thoughts. Sorry for bringing this up on your channel just wondered if other parts of the UK have been the same.
It's definitely been a strange year for hatches with the weather being all over the place , we started well in March with buzzers but they switched virtually straight vaway onto the dries , then we had a decent Hawthon hatch , there was virtually no olive hatch , the evening rise were poor due to easterly winds , the daddies are now just starting and fish have been taking them in the last 2 weeks, the fishing will pick up as the waters cool down. 👍🎣🐟
