Struggled all day today. Tried everything from Grunters to Snakes then remembered the Nothing Fly. Bingo! Fish hammered them. Thanks for the tying instructions. .
@@alecharveyfishingandflytying I am going to try it Alec! You are very generous sharing such deadly patterns. I fiss small Stillwater's mostly, the trout get wise quickly to standard patterns. Best wishes bro and thanks again!😃👍😃🏆
Peacock Hurl catches more Trout than probably any other product we tie onto hooks for the purpose. Great stuff Alec as always, and thank you for sharing. Ivan
Thanks for giving us the heads up on the Guru hooks. Because of the wide gape i find tying easier, theyre also strong. Tying up some red butts to put in with the originals and will be trying them this week.
Friggen Awesome Alec to say the least, did have a go at the original fly but think i just did not understand the way you tied it pal, but this video is so clear and great i now fully see the way to tie your killer pattern. Thanks for sharing and tight lines Peter.
@@alecharveyfishingandflytying Hi Alec tied up a few flies last night pal and yes they work a treat. Only had a short window when the trout were up for it, had 3 casts missed 2 which was my fault and bent into the third fish and landed it. After checking my hook it had slightly opened up to my shock pal. have you had this happen to you as used the same hook you advised? Any advise would be great pal. All the best Peter.
@@Pete.108 hi Peter, I have never had any problems with the Guru MWG carp hooks on the NOTHING flies , that's why I use them and not dry fly hooks because they don't bend out , was it a big fish you caught ??🎣🐟
@@alecharveyfishingandflytying Hi Alec thanks for getting back to me pal and no it was not a big fish as such, round about 4lb but it did fight like it was on steroids if you what i mean, hears hoping the hooks i bought are not faulty, will be fishing on Sunday this week pal and will let you how i get on. All the best Alec and tight lines.
Hi Alec sorry to bother you as you know I’m quite new at fly fishing a friend a I have booked a boat at graffham water on the 6 7 and 8th of October and we would be grateful for your advice on what flies to use and what lines to use please thankyou kindly for any advise you could give we have never been there before
Hi Paul, there are a few methods you can try down there then , floating line or midgetip with a team of hares ear /shrimp patterns , especially casting tight up against the shoreline, In the deeper water a fast intermediate or di3 with a black mini snake will always catch fish. Midgetip with a fab on the point and a daiwlbach and a cruncher on the droppers catch well. Good fun can also be had with popper fry along the surface . Don't forget to ask the guys in the lodge for up to the minute information. Tight lines 🎣🐟
Hi Alec watched your video so many times now as its so clear pal, i am glad to say i have mastered your fly thanks to you. Alec what type of super glue are you using? and you make applying it look so easy to say the least. Could you please tell me how you store your clue before you use it pal, as i put some on a pvc matt and find it goes off before i use all of it. Any help and advise would be much appreciated. All the best and tight lines Peter.
cameron itis only tied with two materials, tiemco aero wing and dyed green peacock herl. If you go right to the end of my video you can click on the link for the tying video, or check my channel for the videos of the NOTHING fly and the NOTHING Butt fly 👍🎣🐟
Cheers Brian, no Brian you can fish them several ways, casting to rising fish, letting them fish blind drifting across the breeze, and are good when very slowly retrieved just sub surface using a figure of eight , check out my fishing videos on the channel where I am fishing the flies and you will see them in action . Please do Peter , you should be OK with the hooks ,they are designed to pull in big carp 👍🎣🐟
Alec I will send you my design of a hatching midge it was good enough for a Gateshead Fishmonger!
Sounds good Will 👍🎣🐟
Great video as always Alex when do start to fish this 👍
Thanks James , fish them from may onwards as soon as the midges are on the surface or land blown black flies are on the water .👍🎣🐟
Great video Alec!!!👍!.. can I ask where you purchased your carp hooks!!!??

Great looking fly m8.
Could you use cdc instead of the aerowing material?
You could try it , the fish will always let you know if it works , the areo wing is a definite proven fish catcher.🎣🐟

Do you think I could substitute the aero wing with antron wool Alec ?
It's not as good Geoff , it's too coarse and not the same fly 👍🎣🐟
@@alecharveyfishingandflytying Will have to put my hand in my pocket then ! I think it would work on the river too.
Alec sorry but i forgot to tell you that some American fly tier has tried to copy your fly, and i must say not even close to your nothing fly lol.
I have seen that one Peter , your right. not the same really but he did mention my name 🤣🤣🎣🐟
