Thanks for the channel plug Rhys! I was introduced to the Dogs Bollocks years ago by a bailiff, hauling out fish when I was blanking. I mentioned in a video it was “The Dogs Bollocks” and it’s been that way ever since. Getting fished worldwide now! Fame at last but still skint!😂😂
have you fished Sandford fishery yet if so what you think of it i loved fishing there the other day smashed em with a fat albert fly caught 8 went home early ;-)
Rhys thank you for all the videos, they are a great help. Could you do a piece on Tippet rings ? I have never used them so I am unsure as to what size to use? Thank you and keep up the great work
Rhys, I love your videos. I have incorporated many of your tips. I am slaying trout on our stillwaters on this side of the Atlantic (Ontario, Canada). Thanks! The dog's bollocks? This sounds like the beginning of a good fishing joke! LOL!
Hi Rhys. Another great video. I like “The Dogs Bollocks” in a number of bead colours. For me a white bead has been successful as has a fluorescent yellow. 6 or 7 colours are useful if the trout have seen everything else. I have even caught a carp and a bream on one under the bug on a fly rod!
hello Rhys from Slovakia, I like to watch, I get inspired and try. But I want to ask, here we have areas for small trout where there are also carp and they pollute the water almost all year? Are there any flies there? The fish are thrown away, ordinary fishermen don't even come anymore, but the fish is there, just figure out what it wants... Thank you
Hi Rhys. If I may, can I ask why Airflo Sixth Sense sinking lines are duel weighted? There either 6/7 or 7/8 etc. I mostly use a 7wt outfit, so which would I go for? I can’t find any information as to why online. And really liking the videos! Informative yet entertaining 😂
Your rod will be able to cast either. The 7/8 will be better in strong winds or if you need extreme distance on larger waters, where presentation isn't so important. The 6/7 would be better for a better presentation of the fly or flies on small to medium Stillwaters.
Hi James, Michael didn't invent it he has just promoted it loads through his tyings. Lol gave it the name of a dogs bollox a few year back when we were introduced to it at Knitsley Mill, he came up with the name because it worked so so well and still does, simple and very effective 😉
Awesome video as always, a lot of knowledge and strategy to check, I'm little bit jealous that in Poland I don't have a lot opportunity to practice Stillwater game , but all your advice working very well. You doing great job, best regards
Another great video Rhys thanks very much, very informative as always. an Idea for you to promote your site, on the wall behind you get a back drop made up of the logo used at the beginning of your vids :-)
Great video, Rhys! Just one thought...many of your tips relate to venues where multiple flies are allowed, which is not often the case where I fish. Do you have suggestions that would be applicable at fisheries only allowing single fly?
Cheers Mike. The sames rules apply, just scale things back, so when looking at nymphs, just fish a single nymph. It will be harder to maintain a static approach than fishing a 2 or 3 fly cast with a boyant fly but it's still doable, just slightly more hindered
be good to get a reading the water/environment video. Seasons atm are ridiculous got a week of sun and 17/18Degrees out of nowhere when it's autm in a few days.
I’ve taken a bit of a break from TH-cam generally but there’s nuggets of info in many of the videos around how I interpret the conditions to find success, so have a browse and hope you find something useful
@@RhysFishes not bad Rhys thanks. I managed 5 during a morning session with my Step-Father. Truth be told Sunday mornings are more about sharing time and peace to help his PTSD than catching fish. @@jamesalexander4203 I’ll often go out with Jeremy and find we don’t actually fish that much, just sit there talking about life. Cherish it whilst it’s there 👌

Another fab video Rhys 👌

Thanks for the video Rhys very helpful to know what flies to use for the time of year
Will give them a go this weekend
Glad to help!
Great video well presented. Will tie up a few of each fly and give them a shot thanks.
Good luck!

I don’t use them that often if I’m honest Jim. Preferring to use knots over tippet rings
@@RhysFishes I thought as you mentioned them in this video you might do a piece on them.
Rhys man, you’re costing me a fortune! Every time you do a fly video I have to stock up. Great video as always!
Glad you like them!

Rhy’s, out of interest, do you guide at?? If so, do you have a link ?
The dogs bollocks buzzer can be bought from this company.Tied 4 Trout. You got to try his flies there unreal quality and a excellent price.

Going to give eisterddfa a go this winter what would u recommend I try there?
With the weather as it is atm you won't go wrong with the flies in the stillwater box I came up with, with fario fly
Top video again Rhys. Can i ask what size hook are the individual flies?
Cheers Paul - 10's or 12's generally
Hey I was wondering if you could recommend a fly rod/reel for fishing from the bank and I could fish a variety of flys thanks
Many options out there. Depends on budget Mike
