DITTO on the Transmission. I've ridden DOZENS of Bikes, and owned 20 or so during my lifetime. This little 250 has one of THE smoothest shifting transmissions I have ever used on a Bike!

I have one of these machines-a 2018, actually. I would like to see slightly larger Mirrors. I'm 6'1, 235 Pounds. This is the ONLY Bike I've found in this class that I can sit on and NOT feel "scrunched Up" on. I'd like to see the Seat Height One Inch taller & the Handlebars TWO Inches Higher; then I think it would be perfect for us bigger riders.
I' 68, semi-retired, and bought this Bike LAST EVENING as a commuter to my job. Will I "Play with it" on Days off? ABSOLUTELY!

Suzuki using this "world bike" 250cc isn't a bad thing. Cheap insurance , fuel mileage and a 6 speed are all a plus. A 250 twin is a great everyday ride. Wouldn't mind them bringing over the V-Strom 250 . A better value with tubeless tire s than a Royal Enfield bike!

Just picked this bike up, like new, for $2500...best purchase I've ever made. It feels a little bigger than a traditional 250 because the swing arm is about 3 inches longer than others so it looks bigger too. It's DEF a head-turner. This bike is so perfectly balanced. I come so close to a complete stop without putting my feet down, it's ridiciulous how balanced this bike is. Vibration is almost nonexistent. I live in a beach town so it's perfect to zip through all the obnoxious seasonal traffic with.

Great review! I was skeptical about getting this bike. I seen and read so many bad reviews. But they were biased and had ridden lots of powerful motorcycle already. I'm a new rider tho so I don't wanna spend so much money. Don't plan on racing either... I just wanna ride and not kill myself my first go out! I think the bike looks good too. Other people who test rode this have been riding way more powerful bikes for a long time already! Of course they're gonna hate this bike. But for beginners it a good bike who wants to learn. I think it looks good. I like the body style. I plan on getting one. Once I get used to riding I can trade or get another more powerful bike. But you can't beat the price of this thing! The one I'm getting is only 2997.00 brand new. Although its because it's one of the most hated bike cuz " it has no power " for the experienced riders. It's a 250cc..... what do they expect.

Good job on the review as always man. I'm just getting into track days. I have a shitload to learn and I currently own a 2008 CBR600rr in very good condition I payed about 5,000 for. Lately I have been thinking I would be better off learning on a slower less expensive bike like an older SV650. Because my first track day I was super paranoid about dumping the 600rr and felt like it was a bit of a distraction when trying to improve my skills. Any thoughts? Thanks again man happy new year.

nice bike, i tested one earlier and it is a decent bike, but, i found it slow for US roads. topped out at 82 on the highway which is dangerous, acceleration was around 10 second to 60 which is not really quick. it is a great bike for markets were speed limits are under 70mph on the freeway. in the city, it was fine, but i found it to be heavy for its size. id get one if i was anywhere else but in the states.

They had some older floor models they wanted to move, so they drastically cut the price for them. I definitely like it, but to be honest, the main reason I bought this bike and not, say, an R3 was the price. When you get closer to $4500, it might be worth it to pick up something else with a bit more power, like an R3 or Ninja 300/400.

Yeah it's an okay bike, but there is absolutely no reason for anybody not to opt for any other 300cc class bike for only $500 more. There is literally no reason for anyone to buy this bike. There are lighter, more powerful, more refined, and better looking motorcycles in this category. And that $500 savings instantly goes away as resale value is going to suffer incredibly.
