    This reminds me of the day I upgraded from a Sound Blaster 16 to the AWE32. The music quality was not as refined as this, but it sure made every old Sierra and LucasArts game feel new again 🥹

    Nice. How does this compare to the MT32-pi hat?

      For MiSTer use, it’s identical.
      But the PI-MIDI also has DIN MIDI and audio input/output, which means you can use it as a standalone MIDI synth for real retro machines too. I often hook it up to my DOS PC via gameport MIDI cables as a Roland MT-32 replacement

      I see. I'm actually using your serial connection method with M32pi for my DOS machine so this solution would be even better!

    It's so cool how DOS games were capable of excellent MIDI music with the right hardware, even if it could cost about as much as the computer in question 🤣
