- Welcome to the next of the Christmas Box Videos for 2023
Tonight, I drive with Anna to The Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead to visit Adam, Agnes's Dad, in his studio. He helped make one of the items in your Box, ' Kates Book of Things' so come and join me in this really interesting visit!
Tomorrow's video is the Packing Video where Anna and I pack some of the Boxes ready to go to anywhere in the world. Don't watch the video if you have your heart set on a Box because they can sell quite quickly. Secure your order and then pop back to watch Anna and I.
If you don't want to miss out, set an alarm for 7pm Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) when the Boxes go on sale. Check what time that is in your part of the world. And remember, there is FREE, TRACKED SHIPPING WORLDWIDE!
If you do buy a box, please check your address really carefully - if your address is incorrect and your box gets lost, we won't be able to send you another one as there is a limited number!

"Foundation Press" This would be fun as a memento for future generations. Thank you for allowing us to read the last page with the credits. It gives an idea what this book is about.
Would love to be able to just purchase just this sweet little book by itself!
I will have to consider that as so many people are asking xxx thank you
Is it possible to find out the approximate cost of a Christmas Box, please? My friend is going to ring me early tomorrow morning (6 am our time, I think!)@@thelasthomelyhouse
@@margaretberryman6260 it's already on her website. Not for sale, but the price.
Yes, please, that'd be nice. I couldn't find the calender, I'm afraid it has been sold out?@@thelasthomelyhouse
Yes please. I’d love the book
I do enjoyed getting to know Adam just a bit more. You are such a warm, loving, devoted family.
How wonderful to have such creative people in your life. This book certainly is a treasure, just like Kate!
Do hope the book will be in the shop for those who don't manage to get a Christmas box.Lovely to see Agnes, she's done that very thing our grandchild do of growing.love to you all from Walter cat and Me ❤
Kate, I hope you take this as the highest complement - you’ve become my Mr. Rogers for grown ups.
💗💗💗
So lovely getting to know Adam a little bit and seeing where he works and what he does. Thanks for the tag along!
I love how it's a family thing. How incredibly wonderful! I am guessing that one day, Agnes and Emil may help design something. Maybe in the not too distant future... It was so nice to get to know Adam a little bit.
It is nice to get to know Adam a bit better. Very interesting job and he is a perfect addition to the TLHH-team!
Dear Kate and Anna and your family, I purchased the 7 small books last year and they arrived before Christmas. I put them out in a fan shape on my buffet, hear my Christmas tree. It was lovely how many of my guests picked one up and started reading and I could see they were drawn into the stories. Norma, Eileen, the house… I put them out again this year, the seven books in a fan shape. it will be one of my traditions. My late, beloved mother-in-law and many of my ancestors are from the UK, some close to you and where you grew up. As I get older, I appreciate the reminders of roots, both experienced and remembered, and ancestral. Thank you.
So so interesting to see Adam talking about his work and art, he is just as brilliant at it as I expected! ❤
I’m so glad we still have books! And not just on line stuff! 🤩😃🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi Kate
Fantastic to see Adam. He is super talented like all the family at the last homely house. Yes...John and Martha has put plenty of input in over the years. Little Agnes is so caring. Hope her birthday party went well💕🎉🎁🎈
Very cool drive and buildings, city. Gosh she's grown so much (Agnes). Nice of you to give us a glimpse into Adam's work. I've always LOVED your window, it's why I bought the puzzle. That's so cool that your daughter guilded that for you all in secret like that. The pinks and greens in the book are so you. I used to work at a print shop so you all are speaking my language LOL. My mom always said read it backwards to proof-read.
So fun to sit and watch this vlog and see when the likes 👍 tick in.
Give Kate and the whole team a 👍, they deserve it!!
I noticed that too, over a hundred 👍ticked over while I was watching the video. Well worth all the 👍😊
Thank you so much!!! Xxx
Memories of you and Anna (and me) laughing and laughing over The Christmas Prawn! 🌼
That prawn!!! Ha ha! Xxx
I love hearing about your family and how everyone helps you. Very sweet
❤
I like the book spine colors-echoes of your usual quilt bindings!
What a wonderful behind the scenes video of your new book. I see a quilt block in the spine.
What a lovely creative conversation with Adam about your new book.Hearing the resons behind the design elements brings it a life of its own. I really hope you will be able to offer the book by itself after the Christmas boxes have gone out. You are all brilliant xx
So many people are asking, i think i may have to!!! Xxx
Beautiful interview with your talented son in law. I loved hearing his ideas and discussion of making books.
What a fantastically talented and dedicated family you have, Kate. The book is amazing, and Adam’s work is fascinating. Agnes is such a big girl now! Time flies. Thank you for sharing… everything! Hugs to all your family, and all friends on the lime green sofa.
Great! A trip! A son in law! Agnes! This was so fun, especially with the accompaniment of happy kids playing.
I held my breath riding at the beginning of the journey and the crossing of the Tyne bridge, after so many years since I last did that, and that was just the start of a fascinating video. Such a creative family, and little Agnes not so little, with her Nana's gorgeous book of stories so beautifully curated by her daddy Adam to glimpse. What a rich world of ideas and talent you inhabit, Kate. Blessed indeed. Gan canny lass. 🤗
It seems that your whole family is very creative and artistic! Nice to really get to meet Adam. The design of the book is beautiful. 😊It’s always fun to see Agnes!
Your conversation about proof-reading takes me back to writing my Bachelor's degree dissertation. When the binding process had finished, I picked it up and brought it back to where I was staying. My housemates and I crowded round in wonder... Then I opened it up and found a typo on the acknowledgements page. At that point, the housemate who didn't have to write a dissertation took all copies I had of mine - as well as those of my other housemate's - and hid them in her room until it was time to hand them in! "Now you've found one mistake, all you'll do is go searching for more!"
What a lovely family you have Kate❤ I love the book it's beautiful ❤ How creative you all are and all the work that goes into the Christmas Box thank you for showing us xx
Dearest Kate, I have all of your books and look forward to this historical glimpse into your family. Thank you for sharing the warm emotions with all of us On the Lime Green Sofa.
Blessings, Dawn
Oh Kate, I too would love to purchase the book. I hope it will be available. So fascinating hearing about Adam's work.
Those coloring books are pretty wonderful - I feel that many people need them. :)
Since I have just discovered this wonderful channel, I am binging episodes & loving it❣️I might start speaking with a British accent 😉 Kate, it truly does feel like I am invited into your home & sitting on the lime green couch discussing the wonders of life from your beautiful, creative mind & enjoying meeting your family ❤
It occurs to me that it would be fun to create my own" book of things" for the benefit of our children and grandchildren. Probably not professionally published, but still... 😊
Yes!! This is what i hoped people would feel inspired to do!!! Everyone has a collection like this - please do it!!! Xxxx
There are places (I think Amazon might be one) that will print your book at a reasonable price.
@@lyndaericksen3642 Thanks, I'll have to look into that. 😊
9:40 like your show a lot 😊
You are so creative in so many ways!
My income does not reach to a Christmas box but I love watching the videos about the box. And I especially love watching videos of you Kate, with your family members. Thank you for each and every video. Each one feels like a visit with a friend.
Great video!😍🤗🤩
It's great fun to see how long & tall Big Sister Agnes is getting - oh, my!😍
I really enjoyed your conversation with Adam about everything that went into the design of your latest book, Kate. I hope that I can order a Christmas box before they're all gone, so I'm setting my alarm so I don't miss my chance.🤞
The book is a lovely paper quilt of your family's TLC and talent, and I LOVE that clever, colorful spine! It has "KATE" all over it!
That was so interesting you are so lucky having such a wonderfully creative family around you. I love everything you do Kate it's so awesome and you shine through your family. ❤
I love the spine on your book. reminds me of the way I bind quilts, with bits and leftover pieces.
Thank you for it, you really inspire me.
So good to see that the Christmas prawn made it into the book 👏🏻😂
What a treasure, Kate. And book number two is rolling in your head. Totally awesome.
That’s awesome, you have a lot of talent surrounding you. Kate you have a great family supporting you, how fantastic. Wishing you the best of luck with your Christmas Box. 👍❤️😊
Aww, Agnes . . . lovely, made me tear-up, I have a beautiful granddaughter too, she is thirty two now, the love of my life.
I have great affection for the Christmas Prawn 🤣🤣🤣. Really enjoyed hearing about how the book came together
It's great that the Christmas Prawn made it into the book! Lovely job on the book, Kate and Adam.
I love your idea. There are so many of my favorite things that have a story to them. For instance “My Dad’s coffee pot, my teddy bear my brother Bobby gave to me on my 4th Christmas, and how I felt when he gave it to me.” Perhaps I I will start to take photos of them and make my own “Story Book”. Thank you, Patricia 87 🥰🌻💖❤️
Oh please do! I hoped to inspire people to make their own Book of Things - everyone has a collection like this! Xxxxx
Just purchased a Christmas box and a few other things!! Can't wait to recieve it Kate! @StellaQuilts
The book is lovely. I wish it could be bought on its own ❤
Nice video at looking at Adam's awesome working place! You and your family are all so creative, I love it! Your little book Kate is amazing with all those lovely pictures, and Agnes's colouring book! Agnes is so cute, and I would like to see her little brother Emiel sometime too! Have a nice weekend and God bless!
Like you, you’re children are very talented and creative and it seems they’ve married partners who are also artists. What a great family!
Fascinating! You have such wonderful sons and daughters, and their partners and children. Wow, a coloring book for a party favor... what a wonderful idea! My daughter's friends would have loved that. We had a scientist come over for her 10th birthday party. He got paid by the hour, and brought his own things and cleaned up. We had 14 kids in our house, all watching and engaged with everything this guy was doing, asking and answering questions. 2 1/2 hours later and he was still going! We were worried about the cost. The scientist was having so much fun, he lost track of time. In fact, he was so excited that the kids were so engaged, hanging on every word and experiment. I got pictures of the back of everyone's heads. Parents began showing up to get their kids, and they became engaged! Cars outside, parents inside with the kids. Parents wanting to know who and where I found him. Listen to me going on and on. I just know how difficult it is to keep and how to present things. I wish I had the money to purchase your Christmas box. I love visiting your home. But, I love tagging along when you go places! You explain everything, who, what, where, when, and why, with a little bit of family. It's wonderful to meet, and see your family, what they do, and the great surprises they've done for you. Your picture window was beautiful, but now is stunning. Thanks for the field trip Kate.😊❤
Wonderful to hear from Adam about what kind of work he does and all the thought that went into creating your book. I have all of your other books and love each one. I hope that this book will become available for purchase on it’s own and I can add it to my collection.❤
I love the idea of your book. I've been writing about my things for years - my ragdoll named Teenie that mom made for me and my babysitter "darned" back together when she had holes, a glass duck paperweight (my first real piece of art, I must have been 3), the potato spoon that was used each meal when I was growing up... Thank you for inspiring us in all kinds of ways!
I am so please that people are thinking of their own special collections - everyone has a Book of Things in their head! Please do write yours! Xxx
Kate you are so creative and we thank you so much for sharing your talent with those who are not so. Encorporating your family in is one of the most beautiful things ever. I’m close to my girls and wish closer. Hugs
What a splendid idea And to have a son and daughter-in-law that support your creativity is a tremendous blessing : )
Daughter and son in law.
Such an informative chat with Adam and your book looks so wonderful! I can’t afford a Christmas box this year, but I would love to buy one of the books, maybe in your second printing!!
Love you and your family!!! You are so blessed and I enjoy you and your adventures very much!!❤❤
Your whole family is creative-so wonderful! 😊❤️👍
Your family is really lovely. Thank you for sharing them with us.
How very wonderful. Adam is very interesting and it was great to get to know him a bit. The binding was perfect and yes, it would be fun to see a little row of them on my shelf. Seems everyone in your Tribe is talented in one way or another. I hope Martha is feeling well; clearly Adam is helping so perhaps she's getting to rest a bit between feedings and such. Lovely video.
Very interesting,, thank you.
How lovely to meet your family!
What a fabulous vid! Im so inspired! I hope the little book will be available on its own sometime. I cant afford the Christmas box but thats ok, I really like seeing whats in them. The wee square book is precious! thank you! 🦌💌❤️📚
Beautiful book by a gorgeous author and your family. So lovely.
I also have a son-in-law who’s a graphic designer. He designs textbooks, primarily. Thanks for this fascinating glimpse into Adam’s work!
I can envision TLHH stickers being made into rubber stamps?! That would be so adorable!
Goodness your little granddaughter is growing to such a beautiful little girl, she has grown so fast….
This is so fun! Such a beautiful family you have!
I enjoyed this video so much!
Your videos are always so inspiring, but I have to say that this one is probably my favourite ❤️
Brilliant Kate & Adam what a lovely book I hope at some point you sell them separately as I cannot afford the Christmas boxes finance don’t allow
❤
Ooooh, lovely!!!!!! I want to know about Adam’s cowl/scarf - I LOVE the colours!! Also, a request - I want one of Agnes’ colouring books! Truly, I think they'd be a wonderful addition to your shop and perhaps it could be to make a little pocket money for Agnes.... xxx
Sadly the Christmas box has sold out. 😢😢😢. This has been an interesting excursion into your son’s world. I love the book. I love the window. You are such a talented family. Agnes has grown! ❤❤❤
No it hasn’t. It will go on sale tonight Sunday, at 7pm. The listing on the shop is a preview!

Your children , in laws and grand children are wonderful to watch. You are so blessed. Love your videos.
Loved the book and love that tlhh has become such a family affair, you are truly blessed Kate❤️
Congratulations Kate on another beautiful Christmas box. Oh that feeling of satisfaction when something turned out just the way you had imagined.😊
Thank you - I especially like the colours this year - pink and teal - they look so lovely together! Xxx
Such a delight! Thank you for all of the creative energy and tender care that went into making these beautiful boxes! I am going to set an alarm :) Also, I kept thinking that the cyan/yellow/magenta/white/black blocks on the wall behind you in this video could make such an interesting quilt!
Fascinating chat and looks like a beautiful result 😊
Oh, I do so hope there is a children’s book in the future!
The book is lovely Kate!!❤❤
I really enjoyed your conversation with Adam. How thrilling to see big-girl Agnes. I only started watching in August, so I have literally watched her grow up. You've helped to amp up my excitement for the holidays. (Daphne in California)
What a delightful video of you and Adam discussing your book of things! I love the idea of photographing personal items that have a story bound to them, a memory keeper! You are so inspiring and what a lovely creative family you have! 😊
What a perfectly timely video. I just completed 100 page story, and am looking to move on to next steps.
Kate, you must take us on more trips down the wrong side of the road, that was so much fun! 🙃And O my, isn't Agnes getting so big (and beautiful!) Thanks for sharing this trip with us. Blessings 💜🙏💜
Lovely sweet conversation with your son-in-law
It's funny when Adam's talking about Kate's "unnatural colours" of pink and magenta because...
Those colours, especially in Kate's favourite combination with green, more than anything make me think of flowers! Like geraniums or dianthuses - the wild ones growing in meadows! 😅
Hi Kate from across The Pond in Virginia! I have just recently discovered your channel! I just love the UK and you live in a very beautiful part of it...but then there are many! You are so creative and do so many things! I really enjoy do your channel. And your lovely family! Take care of yourself!🤗
Kate, I loved this episode with you, Adam and big girl Agnes. it was really interesting learning about the creative process. I have a hint for proofreading. I spent years as a technical writer. Proofreading other work for other people is easy since you have not invested in it and it's not in your head. Proofreading your own work is harder since it;'s already in your mind. When proofing my own writing I would read it the normal way a couple of times. Then, I would read each line backwards, from right to left. Mistakes I might have missed reading in a normal way would jump out at me. Missed not seeing Anna. She is always a delight.
Hello, Kate! I quite enjoyed your visit to Adam’s studio. I’m continually amazed by the amount of talent that can be found in your extended family!
The view of the Millennial Bridge brought back memories of a documentary I saw of the design competition. I recall thinking that this would have been my choice. It’s technologically innovative with clean lines-a perfect design to represent the millennium! I had to go back and take another look at the other entries, It’s hard to believe that the competition took place over 25 years ago!
Thank you for sharing, and stay well!

Congratulations 🎉🎉so interesting to warch all the combined family efforts to maks this book come alive ❤
You have such a lovely creative family Kate. What a joy to be able share in it. Thank you x
I am not surprised it is a small square book, just like a quilt square. It looks lovely.
I love this idea, Kate! It is so special and inspiring! Will the book be available as a stand alone, or only in the boxes?
So many people asking this - i think i may have to look into doing a second print run xxx thank you
What a lovely video Kate! Thank you everyone ❤️
Your book looks amazing. I love the rainbow spine. You have such a lot of creative talent in your family 😊
What a wonderful idea! There are so many little Treasures in my house - things from my Grandmother, Aunts, parents, husband, children and grandchildren- that I would love to compile into such a book. And it would be lovely to pass such a book onto my children and grandchildren. I have a colouring book about my home town that my mother did all the art work for many years ago. It is a treasure! Hmmm, that might be one of the pages in my own Little Book. ❤
Agnes is adorable❣️
Kate’s family business at The Last Homely House! Very enjoyable to Watch the christmas boxes videos!
Theirs an app which checks the readability and gramma typo everything I can’t remember the name now but it exists
