Yeah, here's the thing....that house you say is $900,000 or 9 million pounds......even today, in the Carolina's, where the movie takes place, that house will still only sell in the US for probably around $300,000-$400,000 American Dollars....
The bit where Randy is laying on couch and yelling "Behind you,Jamie! The killer's behind you Jamie!" (Speaking to Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween) is one of my favorites because the actor is Jamie Kennedy and so it's so damned meta.
I love that they have Randy just straight up tell you the ending, It is Billy, he does have a weird messed up reason for killing his girlfriend, the dad is a red herring
Billy hitting Stu with the phone was not scripted. It slipped out of his hand because of the fake blood. The line "You hit me with the phone you dick!" was an adlib by Matthew Lillard. Also, when Billy gets stabbed by the umbrella his pain was real. The umbrella had a retractable tip and Billy wore a protective vest under his shirt but the second stab missed the vest and hit a wound from an open heart surgery operation the actor had when he was ten years old
I like that this is a mystery with many clues through out the film. When you watch it again, you find more clues. When Stu is at the lockers, he’s picks up a mirror , at first you think he’s looking at himself but he’s checking for bruises at the top of his head, when Sidney headbutt him the night before. Don’t fear the reaper plays when You first meet Billy .
Kevin Williamson wrote the script, but according to trivia pages and legend when he wrote the draft for Scream 2, being so blown away by how the first one turned out, there were sections where he gave a barebones outline plus "Wes Craven will make this very scary"
One of the most amazing things about this movie is when I first saw it in theaters when it came out I had no idea what it was because there was very little advertising for it so I went in blind. And to me, and I was reminded if it just now, the scene that had the most impact for me at the time and now was when Stu says "You're no longer a virgin (gets serious and says) now you gotta die, those are the rules. That scene made me feel like I was A. Watching something real, like being a fly on the wall of a real event and most importantly ...B. I genuinely thought to myself "HOLY SHIT, SIDNEY IS ACTUALLY GOING TO DIE HERE" because of the opening and how serious the rules were. If you notice when Stu says "I'll be right back." Randy replies with "Yeah, I'll see you later in the kitchen with a knife" which happened. This is the greatest horror movie in history along with The Blair Witch Project in my opinon
When Sidney stabs billy with the umbrella, she missed the vest (which you can see if you look for it) on the second time and really stabbed him. His reaction is real.

Scream was such a breath of fresh air when it came out. The 80s slashers were all long in the tooth at this point with overly serious sequels. The genre was in a serious rut. Scream felt very 90s at the time with its self referential style and not taking itself too seriously. It somehow toed the line between making fun of slasher movies for comedy and also being a fantastic slasher on in its own right. I grew up watching the 80s slashers on cable but was 14 when Scream came out and I saw it 5 times in the theater. It felt like a slasher for my generation. As a side note I’ve never seen the scooby doo movie but it’s weird to me that a lot of the reactors seem to only know Matthew Lillard as shaggy when he will always be Stu from Scream to me.

27:29 His whole "My Mom and Dad are gonna be so mad at me" genuinely breaks my heart. I personally think that this is a sign that his parents are or were incredibly abusive towards him, which is why he legitimately fears his parents getting mad more than he fears death, and could explain why he ended up the way he did... I know, because I've felt that way several times.
Great reaction guys! As you said, the opening scene was epic, for so many reasons, especially the brilliant marketing which led people to believe that Drew Barrymore's character would be the main character of the film, not killed off in the first ten minutes. The humor and easter eggs are all on point, and the acting is fantastic. Oh, and thank you for pointing out the Fonzie jacket in Principal Himbry's closet! I've seen this movie a dozen times and never noticed that before. Great job!
Let's see... a few fun facts I learned over the years and also recently at a screening of the 25th anniversary. When Sidney stabs Billy with the umbrella at the end? the second hit missed the protective pad underneath and hit the actor's heart surgery scar from years before that was underneath. He was in genuine pain. When Billy hit Stu with the phone? complete accident. Rose McGowan, the blonde friend Tatum, could actually fit through the pet flap, so they had to nail her shirt to the garage door in order to get the film they needed of the character struggling to get out.
tbh I appreciate the little things in this film like how, imo at least, they make the victims more competent in how they fight back and how Ghostface has to struggle to actually kill someone (not just the MC) and not just do a one or two stab kill when he comes into frame.
Trivia: they offered Drew Barrymore the lead role but she actually asked to be the first girl killed. Also, when they were trying to get the mask made, they just couldn’t come up with a design they liked. One of the staff, I can’t remember who, saw the mask in the bedroom of his kid’s friend or something and it was from some mom and pop shop. They asked to use it and obviously the shop said yes. Their only condition was credit and $100 🤣 Obviously they made a killing with sales after the movie came out. No pun intended LOL
Actually, Drew accepted the role of Sidney. It wasn't until about 2 weeks before filming began that she changed her mind. Also, Marianne Madalena (producer) found the mask in a house when they were location scouting.
@@Joker_JAK But it was still Drew’s idea And I just remembered the story of the mask being found in a bedroom. I could have sworn it was random, not during a location scouting mission, but either way, it was random and found in a house
@@Stardust_7273 I know it was Drew's idea. I never said it wasn't. You originally said it was found in a shop or something. I was just clarifying that it was found in the bedroom of a house they were location scouting.
@@Stardust_7273 My point wasn't to "stick it to you" for being wrong or whatever. I just wanted to clarify a couple points is all. My objective was to educate not antagonize.
I watched this movie almost everyday when I was 8. The party house is usually $1,500 per night if you want to stay. Though this Halloween it's only $5 per night.
This film revitalized the slasher genre and influenced countless movies that came out after it. I don't think 'Scream' gets the credit it deserves because its fun self-awareness has been copied and copied over the years but this is the one that started it all.
If you're interested in watching more stuff with matthew lillard I'd recommend : hackers, Spanish judges, slc punk, sanseless, 13 ghosts, messages deleted etc. These are just some of my personal favorites but he's been in other great stuff like she's all that, wing commander, the groomsmen, the pool boys, without a paddle or summer catch.
How have yall not watched this franchise. I’m 21 years old and trust me when I say this these are classics you don’t want to miss. Watch the other parts too

1.The fun part is watching everyone overthink who did it. Thank God for twist endings. 2. The principal is The Fonz/Henry Winkler. There's a Fonzie jacket hanging in the closet. 3. Tatum tells Dewey his superior is a janitor, Wes Craven is playing Freddie. 7. Fun fact: The reporter that says, "The people have the right to know." is played by Linda Blair from Reagan in "The Exorcist". Stu's house would have cost at least $1 million. Even back then. 🤑🤑
Me: YAY!!! Finally someone recognizes Henry Winkler!!! Also Me: ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT?? They don't see him as THE FONZ?? GAH these videos keep making me feel old!!!
My favorite film with Matthew Lillard in it is called "Serial Mom" starring Kathleen Turner and John Waters (Lillard, along with a young Riki Lake, play the kids). It's actually a very unique genre movie. I haven't seen anyone react to it. That's a hint. Here's another hint. Please react to it. It's great.
THIS(!) is in my opinion one of the best Horror-Movies of all Time. I really love this Film for it's not "Splatter" or "Terror", just "Horror". Same goes for "Halloween". So good. =) Btw. just to feel much older again. 1996 was the Year Pokémon Red/Green were released in Japan. 25 Years have gone way to quick man xD
Why I love this movie . Not just because I grew up in the 90s, but all the little nuances. When we first meet Billy, he says he was watching The Exorcist. After Sidney gets attacked and goes back to school, the reporter that runs up to her is Linda Blair (the star of The Exorcist). Billy's last name Loomis is an ode to Halloween but also Alfred Hitchcock Psycho. Billy quotes a few things from Psycho which stars Janet Leigh who is the real life mother of..Jamie Lee Curtis. You guys should definitely watch the other 3. PS there is another connection between the movie Psycho and Drew Barrymores character, but it might be a spoiler for Psycho so U won't mention it if you haven't seen it. (Psycho is a must see)
Those houses even in the 90s would be close to if not over $1MM. Not just the size of them but their views are amazing. In fact, I think this is the San Francisco area. Every time I see this film, I wonder what the hell these parents did for a living. These are some seriously rich assholes.
Hi guys first time watching your movie reactions. Loved it. I hope you two do the movie reactions to the rest of the Scream movies .I hope all is well. 😁
U gotta watch Scream 2, 3 & 4 as well, each film does get better and 4 is one of my favorite horror films of all times, and 5 is right around the corner in January! 🙌😃
I wore that exact Halloween Ghostface outfit Jack was talking about a few years back and I still have the mask with the bloodily heart🤭 Anyways are y'all planning on watching the Chucky tv series which started a few days ago and episode 2 airs Tuesday.
Hey really good reaction, I really like your style!! I was wondering if you have any advice or like tips/tricks for a newbie reactor like myself starting out. Thank you and keep up the hard work ❤️
just keep making videos mate. Keep feeding that algorithm. Might take 1 month, 1 week or 1 year to get a video which picks you up. But you'll never know if you stop.
23:24 I've seen this movie a 1000 times and this was the 1st time that I've noticed that Stew may have let the cat out of the bag early... 🤔 When Stew and Randy are running towards the house, and Sydney has a gun on them he quickly accuses Randy of killing Billy... Randy says "you did" totally confused. BECAUSE.. Nobody knows that Billy is dead yet besides Sydney and the killer.. 🤯 lol I mean I guess they could've been running around everywhere but you see Randy outside last and possibly knocked out, but last you see Stew he was in the house directing Billy and Sydney to a particular room.. 🤔
Would you be willing to watch “the faculty” written by the same guy who wrote this scream movie. I would describe it as “the thing” meets “the breakfast club”
Where does think rank amongst your favourite Wes Craven films?

@@Joker_JAK But it was still Drew’s idea
And I just remembered the story of the mask being found in a bedroom.
@@Joker_JAK Yeah, I know that...
Love your reaction i'm glas you realize how good is this movie
I watched this movie almost everyday when I was 8. The party house is usually $1,500 per night if you want to stay. Though this Halloween it's only $5 per night.
Stu’s motive really was peer pressure which we don’t see that as a motive for killers in movies a lot
I had the bloody mask too as a kid 😭😅 I used to get it every year basically! classic!
Matthew Lillard is great and not given enough credit. I first saw him in the movie Hackers.
Also, if you go tour the house today, they left the knife marks from filming in the doors and the kitchen remains the same! It’s awesome!
How have yall not watched this franchise. I’m 21 years old and trust me when I say this these are classics you don’t want to miss. Watch the other parts too
Jack is GORGEOUS!
Fun fact: Scream was originally titled Scary Movie but the name was changed after Lillard said 'it's a scream baby'.

1.The fun part is watching everyone overthink who did it. Thank God for twist endings.
2. The principal is The Fonz/Henry Winkler. There's a Fonzie jacket hanging in the closet.
3. Cellphones weren't that prevalent in1996.
4. Maskface keeps getting his ass kicked 🤣
5. Tatum/Rose McGowen= As long as I have a face 😋😍
No one ever notices that Drew Barrymore's character says, "Halloween" just as she is pulling out a butcher knife which Michael Myers loves to use.
Skeet Ulrich comes from NASCAR family fame, oddly enough.
“guess what film we’re watching next” 😂
Dig the Terrifier mask you have in the background!
Please now watch all the Scream films.
Hoping for 2,3&4 before the release of 5!
The original title of Scream was supposed to be Scary Movie and I find that so perfect. It's a fantastic film, still to this day.
Me: YAY!!! Finally someone recognizes Henry Winkler!!!
Also Me: ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT?? They don't see him as THE FONZ?? GAH these videos keep making me feel old!!!
Okay, they saw the leather jacket in his closet and clearly understood why it was there. I guess they do know about The Fonz.
It's great.
I LOVE SCREAM 1 SO MUCH ! it is just made for horror movie fans
THIS(!) is in my opinion one of the best Horror-Movies of all Time. I really love this Film for it's not "Splatter" or "Terror", just "Horror". Same goes for "Halloween".
So good. =)
Btw. just to feel much older again. 1996 was the Year Pokémon Red/Green were released in Japan. 25 Years have gone way to quick man xD
If you want to see Matthew Lillard, check out the film Hackers... its cheesy, but I love his performance in it
Have you considered doing ASMR Will? I noticed you have the type of voice that works perfectly with that content.
Matthew Lillard was also in the movie Thirteen Ghosts.
Great reaction! Your voice is so soothing... My God ❤
Neve Campbell was the stand out in this film in my opinion.
Drew Barrymore was supposed be sidney but she rejected the role for "the girl that dies at beginning"
Try “Thirteen Ghosts” for Halloween. Fun movie.
Man the comments are full of behind the scene and extra facts
I love it
it’s so awesome seeing y’all reacting to one of my favorite movies ever! just subscribed!
thank you so much!
@@_willandjack y’all are the best!
Another underrated Mathew Lillard movie is SLC Punk.. 👌🔥
07:58 your faces after that comment 😂
Wes Craven did not write this film , it was written by Kevin Williamson.
The guy who played Shaggy is good in SLC Punk.
YUH I'm the 1 thousandth like 🤪
Another film you should check out, that's somewhat in the same vein (IMO), is Behind The Mask: The Leslie Vernon Story.. 👌
Love this channel and your accents. Love English accents
Can you also react to Scream 2?
this film goeas hand in hand with the movie "scary movie", so please watch that to :)
Y’all should react to sci fi film the wandering earth
Best horror movie ever.
Such a great movie! Hope you watch the other 3 in the franchise. Scream and The Thing are Wes Craven's best x
The Thing was directed by John Carpenter.
You guys doing scream 2?
Hey guys react on kgf its awesome movie i bet on that😊😁😁😁
Are y'all planning on doing all SCREAM movies for October??? 🥲
will probably carry on with scream after halloween but we do have a lot more halloween themed videos coming out over October...
@@_willandjack yassss
Please watch/review Scream 2, 3, 4 & Scream (2022)
That house would probably be like 90k, nah mate that would be 500k max lowest would be 300k
I wish a house like that was $90,000 lol maybe MAYBE in Mississippi
My generation (Gen X) knows Lillard mainly from this.
Guys u should check out *Naked Soldier* they're badass.. You'll not regret trust me..
Scream works best if you've seen some of the previous horror films the story references, most notably Halloween.
When do you guys watch Scream 2? 🙂
Next: Cabin in the Woods!!!
You should watch the sequels!
Would you be willing to watch “the faculty” written by the same guy who wrote this scream movie. I would describe it as “the thing” meets “the breakfast club”
If you’re interested in another great movie with Matthew Lillard, check out the movie Hackers (1995).💜
Better watch scary movie 1 🤣🤣 scream all the way
Please react to scary movie 1. Its the parody of this movie.
