I actually worked on this movie....we had maybe two or three days of daytime shooting and two weeks of night time shooting......and the set was an actual abandoned mental hospital, and one time the director misplaced his phone...and us pawns were sent out to find it.....so I was walking these corridors...in the dark, alone with a flashlight, looking for a phone, it was kinda creepy...I actually called a friend, just to have a voice in my ear and someone to talk to,..
This movie got slated but I thought it was really scary and a good story, just the thought of being trapped in another dimension in an asylum is terrifying, I think the creepiest scene was when Lance says “it’s still night outside”.
Oh man you guys have to see Gonjiam after this. It has less jumpscares if I remember but it's so much more terrifying. And the location in question in that movie is for real but dramatized of course for effect. It's so good
It’s so surprising how different people get scared by different things. Host didn’t scare me much, made me jump but that’s it. Grave Encounters gave me nightmares and the chilling claustrophobic “there’s no way out” atmosphere was executed so well and spooked me long after I finished watching whilst you were both like “meh, it was ok” haha.
Watch house on haunted hill 1999 * i saw that at the cinemas with my older cousin who knew the staff* I was only 9-10 I cant remember anything that has scared me since ...and im Aussie
Nice reaction! This is one of my favorite found footage films. I highly recommend Gonjiam Haunted Asylum, its a Korean found footage film kinda similar to this one and Blair Witch. It's also very terrifying.
This was the movie that gave me nightmares for five straight days that my parents had to get a folk healer to check what's wrong with me. I also had to sleep with my parents.
I honestly enjoyed this movie once I first saw it, I enjoyed the second one as well, can't believe how they edited the building on when they were about to leave, when they broke them big doors open (aka busted it/kicked it well they didnt kicked it but still anyways) how they were in the lobby in the building still and once they turned the camera around to face them doors where it said "death awaits" and it was the same door from when they were out outside, dang, them edits are good. Just like the second one and also it happened in like one single night? Dang.
The great thing about both the grave encounter which I see as a one movie is apart from the jump scares, it's more about the atmosphere it creates and the helplessness of it and comparing it with very recent movies like host and all is not proper and I'd say this is a classic series. It's a great movie for it's atmospheric narrative and the way it deals with sub plots and twists like for example these people can't get out as they go to an end or think they found an exist, it just goes to an extension and it's like an infinite one where you can never get out. That kind of stuff is what makes this movie a classic and an underrated one ❤
Yes, this movie brilliantly executes the unnerving claustrophobic atmosphere that you almost feel like you’re trapped with the characters. The only other horror movie I’ve seen that gives me that trapped feeling is the Descent.
You know they were done when they thought it was morning, yet upstairs at the window it was pitch black. An excellent example of the "show, don't tell" mechanism.
I really enjoy the reactions. This movie is kind of played out, but then how many times can you tell a story before you run out of originality? If you like insane asylum themed horror, House on Haunted Hill is a good one; the 1999 version that is.
This movie holds a horror trauma for a lot of people myself included, compared to modern day stuff it may be overhyped but for 2011 it was super disturbing
it's one of my favorite horror movies of all time, not because it's overly scary, but it does have its moments and it is hilariously over the top. equal amounts of ridiculous laughs and jump scares. what I wouldn't do to be able to watch this again for the first time
Hahaha fantastic reaction. Finally some other people who are simultaneously giggling and horrified while watching scary movies. “Did someone throw a grenade in there?” 🤣
I really enjoyed this. I would have liked it if they went further with the bit where they were slowly becoming patients. Anyway better than I expected. I love your voices. I'm going to have to find it and watch it properly.
I love this film. It trolls ghost hunting shows so brilliantly. But For me, the no way out aspect of this film is truly terrifying and sets it apart from other films of this sub genre IMO. When they crash that door and…it’s just another hallway 😳 It doesn’t help that being trapped with no way out is like my greatest fear. I’d probably just off myself honestly. Just get it out of the way instead of being methodically and horrifyingly terrorized. Then again I’d never be playing these games with some effed up, alternate dimension lifting, demon filled trap house asylum in the first place 😂
I'm here for the jump scares. This did not disappoint. Have you guys seen As above, so below? My new favorite thing is watching you react to found footage.lol
I only just saw it this time (yes I return and watch again) but at at 7:11 when the camera looks out the window there are two giant eyes looking in. Someone please tell me I'm not crazy, I haven't heard anyone mention it before.
Anyone seen "The house on haunted hill" 1999 To me it seemed like the same scenario in a different way HOHH 1999 was a mechanical lock and monsters like no other GE was magical in that the place was non Euclidean, and had monsters
What a shitty movie! :D Same tired old hollywood formula... There are some good things in it, though. But all in all, still another found footage movie.
No, this one's different. I really like the concept alone of being stuck in this endless maze of hallways and staircases. Ending with them getting "better". The same things most likely happened to the patients that stayed in the asylum.. the doctors doing horrible things on them, turning them into monsters. The same monsters haunting the main characters in this movie. Its like they are the patients, stuck in a delusion of infinite night time, in one never ending maze.
Actually the changing landscape reminds me of when markiplier played this game watch?v=4r_PCmlevwA Vanish I would hate to be in that scenario *When the elevator in the second movies returns them to the house*

thank you for your comment! that's so cool! No way i would've gone in there in the dark
Congrats on making this movie. I thought it was awesome. Really enjoyed part 2 as well. 👍
You sure it was your friend talking to you? 🤔 /j this movie was so well done! Y’all did amazing!!
Brooooo how much fake blood did you use for the bath tub lol I've always been curious
@@titanuscreature4485Pretty sure that it is tomato sauce or whatever...
This movie got slated but I thought it was really scary and a good story, just the thought of being trapped in another dimension in an asylum is terrifying, I think the creepiest scene was when Lance says “it’s still night outside”.
Dude that scene when they we're trying to rationalise why it was still dark out was genius!
@@BrokenTwinkie that scene really sent shivers down my spine for real that’s why I love this movie.

Hell House LLC is similar to these too
yes... yes Gonjiam is a must watch!! XD
They already reacted to it
This was the movie that gave me nightmares for five straight days that my parents had to get a folk healer to check what's wrong with me. I also had to sleep with my parents.
man im sorry you got nightmares
this was me after paranormal activity
same, except it lasted a month or more for me

Lance sounds too much like Zak Bagans for me to believe that they didn’t make this film as a slight shot at him and his show 😂😂
You should watch The Taking of Deborah Logan ! 😉
I vouch this!
Is really good
I really enjoy the reactions. This movie is kind of played out, but then how many times can you tell a story before you run out of originality? If you like insane asylum themed horror, House on Haunted Hill is a good one; the 1999 version that is.
For me the most iconic characters in this movie was lance Preston and hauston grey😂
Lance Preston is like a knock-off version of Zak Bagans from Ghost Adventures. I wonder if that was the filmmakers intention.
Please react to Hell House LLC (2015). It is one of the most underrated and horrifying movies I've ever watched!
Now you have to watch Grave Encounters 2,cause you will understand more about the storyline and the hospital’s story
Grave Encounters 2 was garbage compared to the first one
I hope a third film will be made. Just one more.
Good reaction. I first saw this horror film on Netflix in 2015, and I've loved it ever since. ❤ 😎
This is one of my favorite horror movies, the second "Grave Encounters 2" is also really good I think
Would love to see y’all react to the sequel too
This movie holds a horror trauma for a lot of people myself included, compared to modern day stuff it may be overhyped but for 2011 it was super disturbing

This film is inspired by the Paranormal shows Ghost Adventures and Ghost Hunters
Houston and Lance crack me up. This is a good found footage film
Best Asylum horror movie, 10/10 even if the ending is a bit silly.
Watched it like 8 times.
Hahaha fantastic reaction. Finally some other people who are simultaneously giggling and horrified while watching scary movies. “Did someone throw a grenade in there?” 🤣
"So is he just an actor then?" As opposed to what, a real, genuine Ghostbuster?
This is like kind of a parody on ghost adventures turned into horror
love your videos guys
thank you!
I really enjoyed this. I would have liked it if they went further with the bit where they were slowly becoming patients. Anyway better than I expected. I love your voices. I'm going to have to find it and watch it properly.
Have you guys seen the House on Haunted Hill remake? Good spooky environment and the gore isn't too bad either. I used to be terrified of it as a kid
I love this film. It trolls ghost hunting shows so brilliantly. But For me, the no way out aspect of this film is truly terrifying and sets it apart from other films of this sub genre IMO. If you like found footage an older film that you might like is Ghostwatch. It's a 90s film that is made to look like a tv program too.
Session 9 is a better abandoned hospital film.
This the first and last horrormovie that got me real chills
I only just saw it this time (yes I return and watch again) but at at 7:11 when the camera looks out the window there are two giant eyes looking in. Someone please tell me I'm not crazy, I haven't heard anyone mention it before.
Grave incounters 2 guys.
mano esse filme me aterrorizou qnd criança, nunca mais vi nada igual esse filme
One of my fav horror film 😂
Hell yeah, great movie!
Dude, you guys like this one? You guys gotta watch Ghostbusters😎
And Kenny from South Park.😀
It was cliche, but the actors carried it.
y love Grawe Encounters
Anyone seen "The house on haunted hill" 1999
To me it seemed like the same scenario in a different way
HOHH 1999 was a mechanical lock and monsters like no other
GE was magical in that the place was non Euclidean, and had monsters
there's a sequel to this
Sequel is *really* bad though.
Hello Fellow Gentlemen 🥂
I remember in pt 2 that guy was dead in one of the cams and he got like pulled and he was... Ded
Part 2 was brutal
That elevator part
How devastating
Will you be watching the second one too?
My favourite ff
This movie is better than the korean rip-off version
Good movie but not that scary, because the Grave Encounters group gets what they deserve 👻
My name is will
one more like and you are at 666
Damn it
Not even scary... too fake
What a shitty movie! :D Same tired old hollywood formula...

Vanish
I would hate to be in that scenario
*When the elevator in the second movies returns them to the house*
