Many other’s artists first sketchbooks: kinda good anime characters with a lot of hard work put into them My first sketchbooks: stickman mermaids being chased by a demonic shark
Ahh well even though this was one of my first sketchbooks. It certainly wasn't the first time I ever tried drawing stuff! I just never kept track of my doodles until I got these sketchbooks. I consider 2014 the start of me being an "artist" and viewing drawing as an actual hobby (rather than just a way to procrastinate on my homework lol) XD
Yassss finally after nagging you for so long we finally get a look into all your secrets 😏 such an awesome sketchbook tour! And I haven’t forgot at the beginning of the video you showed us another sketchbook.... WE MUST SEE IT!! Like below peeps we need to see it haha. Ahhh I love mark crilley too, I used to watch all his tutorials hehe. You should totally redraw your emo girl oc 😄 gotta love chibis, the one with the big cheeks is adorable. Art is expression from oppression 😂 I loved that part! That legend of Korra chibi is everything!! ‘I told u so” haha there has to be a story there. Man I wanna talk about everything I saw in this book but that would be a super duper long comment 😅 you’ve proven that with hard work you can achieve big things! Can’t wait to see the next sketchbook tour! 💕 ps Green tea RULES!
LOL indeed, but mwahaha I have still yet to do a modern sketchbook tour!😈 Gonna need more nagging for that one. 😂 And OOOF, that first sketchbook... like I said 100k and the OG cringe goes public lmao XD So glad you enjoyed the video!! And yess Green tea is delish🍵
I can't believe you drew that girl in the car. I would have had the most jagged lines...Haha Also, I love that you added notes about your work. It's cool to hear what you were working on or thinking when you originally made them.
I think it was during one of those long high-way drives, so it was smooth enough haha. ;P And yeah, I haven't been putting notes on my sketches anymore, but I feel like I should, it was interesting to look back and read what I thought at the time.
omg can this be true? I wish I still had my first drawings. They look so much like yours and they were also full of written comments and self criticism xD This is so funny. But instead of DBZ fan characters, I had my own One Piece OC's. Azula is also one of my favorite characters from Avatar The Lsst Airbender^^ Your old art is thrwing even me back, but I've never been as good at drawing hair as you. Thank you for sharing this with us, I loved this video. Can't wait to know more about your OC's and thier story ^^
I’m half way through my first serious sketch book and this has motivated me a lot. I draw different things but this is still relatable. I like the idea of the notes and writing on the back of the pages. I am going to start doing that.
This is so great to see. It is stunning what you achieved, but I think even in the very first ones here it shows that you have talent, like the poses you chose for your first steps. Ok, not first, but I can only commend, what I am allowed to see :D. Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you for sharing this. I’m trying to start my first one but it’s so scary. So I’m binge watching stuff like this to motivate me. I love how you laugh at your old self 😂 I had found my old journals once and ripped them apart…they could not exist in this world 😂 it was so cringe but now I wish I had kept them 😢😂
I remember being bullied for this type of art when I was younger, I wish I would've kept drawing stuff then but I felt too self conscious to come up with characters or just do poses. It's so hard now because I feel like I can't do this type of stuff anymore, that I should be on a way higher level (I'm almost 24 stopped actively drawing when I was 10ish years old)
Sorry that happened to you! :( But it really is never too late to start/pick something back up again. I remember feeling the "I should be at a way higher level" feeling too, because I was seeing kids (like 15 & 16 yr old's) on the internet drawing like pros and here I was still drawing like this. I thought I would always be that much behind. Yet, I caught up and even surpassed some of the people I looked up to. But even if I hadn't, it wouldn't matter - drawing made me happy and that mattered. Everyone's path is different, I know some folks who started drawing in their middle ages (some who even then became pros). It's not a linear path, you haven't missed your chance. Just have fun, draw what makes you happy, and stick it to those bullies lol.💕
I'd say, explore! Try a little of everything and find the things that bring you the most joy. You can try sketching objects around your home - that can help train your eye and improve your skills. But if that starts getting stale or frustrating, don't be afraid to sketch silly things - doodles, cartoons, anything that comes to mind. The more you sketch, the more you'll discover the things you like to sketch, and then you'll know which areas you want to study and improve. Most of all, have fun! Good luck
Pretty much of my sketch is stolen in elementary days so yeah... Sad that I cant compare it to my now sketches but loved ur vidss em a new subscriber!💕🎉
I’ve always been able to draw decent but I’m 21 and I’m only half way through my first serious sketch book but I started it about 2 months ago!! Age doesn’t matter :)
Haha sorry 'bout that! I had a mishap during recording; I didn't realize my tripod was touching the back of my chair the entire time, so it jiggled every time I moved. 🤦♀️ Glad you enjoyed the vid, tho!!💖💖
I come to old sketchbook tours to make my current sketches not look so bad... its not working lmao
Yep me too
Lolol me too this is so sad
same :C
same :|
That is seriously the reason that I am here 🥲

This comment is underrated
Truer words have never been spoken ✨
Your first sketchbook looks a hell of a lot better than my first, that’s for sure x

You should totally do a redraw of the armor lady with the wings!! I would love too see the improvements side by side :D
“Oh deary me what happened to your knee good sir?”
I appreciate a realistic looking sketchbook. Most artists post something that looks like a perfect book ready to be published.
How many times did I drink my tea? Winner gets a cookie & a cup.🍪☕
Sent an email.
Was it 5? If I'm right you can have the tea and cookie but have to begin the redraw
@@davesartbook Close! But not 5😏
7?
Zaccura is it 7?

you're first sketchbook is GREAT compared to my current sketchbook 😭😂
Sweet work! My return to art started in the same year so it will be interesting to see where we are in 2024 because that will mark 10 years.
I got bored of drawing and just decided to watch this, this is very relaxing and inspired me to draw more
Thank you ❤️
This video feels so soothing
THE CRITICISM WRITTEN ON THE PAGE OMG I did that alll the time in my old sketchbook
Your art is so good (even though it’s old but compared to my old art it’s pretty dang amazing)
My old one is so
Much worse. But we don’t talk about that sketchbook.

@@Zaccura thank you, I really needed to hear that💖💖
Dude your sketchbook is at least decent, mine from 2012 was just One Piece cringy OCs. Love your videos btw! Greetings from Argentina
Haha well that sounds like the sketchbook I hid from y'all at the beginning of this video, except with DBZ😂😅
Thank you so much!
I dont practice enough
I came here to make myself feel better after drawing a TERRIBLE Obito bcoz I’m a beginner and her first drawings are a hell a lot better than mine
Your first sketch book is so nice! How old were you when you made it?
I thought i was the only person who wrote weird short notes after i finished drawing
Sorus looked like Mikasa Ackerman
I always criticize my art by writing on the page 😂
Lmao- the name of the character XD Cheval is Horse in French and Lapin is Rabbit XDddd
I'm a 64 year old woman. I've been adult coloring for about 7 years.
I'd like to start sketching.
Do you have any easy suggestions?
I'd say, explore! Try a little of everything and find the things that bring you the most joy. You can try sketching objects around your home - that can help train your eye and improve your skills. But if that starts getting stale or frustrating, don't be afraid to sketch silly things - doodles, cartoons, anything that comes to mind. I had my first sketchbook when I was 4 👨🏻🦲
I watch these videos to remind myself we all start out drawing like shit ☺️
Pretty much of my sketch is stolen in elementary days so yeah... Sad that I cant compare it to my now sketches but loved ur vidss em a new subscriber!💕🎉
Oh no! Well hang on to your current sketchbooks, in a few years it'll be loads of fun to look back on. ;)
And thanks so much for the support!

Low-key your sketch book isn't as bad as mine!🤣lol
Do you know French?? Cheval and souris are horse and mouse
Also lapin is a rabit
Azula is Queen
No way! I have that exact same black sketchbook! I actually just finished the sketchbook!
9:00 it looks like he's hitting the woah LMAO
LOL, I was about to scream
5:18
15:45
2:12 it means powerful
Cool
Is it bad that I’m only on my first sketchbook in 7th grade? 😅
Not at all! People start drawing at all ages. It doesn't matter when you start, just that you do!💖😊
I’ve always been able to draw decent but I’m 21 and I’m only half way through my first serious sketch book but I started it about 2 months ago!! Age doesn’t matter :)
Hey i got the same sketchbook at Walmart.

Aw thanks!
That’s look my my old sketch book
Love the vid but the shaking camera made me dizzy
Haha sorry 'bout that! I had a mishap during recording; I didn't realize my tripod was touching the back of my chair the entire time, so it jiggled every time I moved. 🤦♀️
Glad you enjoyed the vid, tho!!💖💖
