One has a funny forward air, the other has a funny zero to death combo

I don't consider Luigi to be a half clone, or a clone at all. They have different movesets, and one of the bros always has something the other brother doesn't.

I actually wish Luigi had his electric abilities, like the ones from M&L: Superstar Saga instead of coping Mario's fireballs.

i like to think that luigi's fireball isn't actually fire but plasma so it kinda has some electric properties
Luigis Green fireball is based off Mario Bros Arcade, where there is green fireballs coming from pipes and red fire balls aswell. The green ones also move the same as the way in smash.
@@dogmeat4466 Yeah, I know. Plus Luigi shares a lot of Mario's abilities in the games he's in, like Fire Flower power. Still, I loved how Alpha Dream's games and the Luigi's Mansions made him stand out more than a green mario.
Luigi has the best genes:
He is taller
He is thiner
He is lighter
But mostly important...
He is green

Well, he does have buttered-up soles. If he tried to wall jump, he'd just slide off the wall. I guess that's a reason.

I always loved how ultimate pushed Mario and Luigi's animations and moves even more so to make them more distinctly different. It does kinda make sense that some of the moves look similar - they're brothers!

Considering they've been practically distinct characters since Brawl, I would say it would be far quicker listing their similar stuff than the differences
0:38 - 0:51 their jump height and speed is probably based on SM64 DS where Luigi jumps the highest but Mario can run the fastest
@Chaotic Chaos: For the sake of correction, it's actually Luigi who's the fastest in SM64 DS. The jump height and speed is based on SMB2 where these observations are correct.

One is a great character but he gets free nonsense hate, the other one is also a great character but Just because he lives in his brother's Shadow ( even if his brother never done ANYTHING to make It happen) he gets MUCH MUCH MUCH more Love than he really deserves
I like that as I don't think Mario is a villain as those people like the Game theorists say, he is just a normal guy plus how would he know Cranky Kong (The DK in the arcade game)
when he is like the same age as DK himself and how does he do abuse when those creatures hurt him. It could be Mario and Luigi's father even though that was Marios first appearance. Mario's surname is Mario even though it might not link to this.
I also agree that Luigi should have some love and he is loved for helping Mario. Mario doesn't know about Luigi being in his shadow. Mario also lets Luigi join him in some quests he wasn't involved in.
I love how you commented, it is nice to see that someone doesn't think Mario is evil.

Luigi was originally a clone of Mario in Smash 64 as a way to add more characters without creating a new moveset. That all changed in Melee when Luigi started changing the way he attacks, thus Dr. Mario was added to add as a clone of Mario as a way to add more charaters without creating a new moveset.
Luigi was still a bit of semi-clone in Melee. Brawl and Sm4sh are really when they became completely different from each other

I see mario as the most consistent character in smash and Luigi is the most inconsistent. Luigi has a 0 to death combo and extremely powerful moves, but is easily punished, while mario has really balanced and consistent moves. I'm watching 5his video because I've decided to main them both and I wanted to see the in and outs of each one. Luigi is my favorite but mario is just more consistent in smash so I main them both. I loved the vid BTW and the little skits inbetween

This is the best summary of anything I have ever seen.
Green Mario rapes all the other Marios with ease he needs be nerfed. The amount of rape in one Mario is unfair.

Great video! I see you didn't mention that Mario's up special is capable of being angled slightly more horizontally or vertically depending on where you hold the stick, but other than that everything about checks out. Keep up the good work!

If you notice, most of their alts are pretty much the same, and you can see some similar stuff they do in their moveset, like down b, and down air, they are the same but work differently

I think my fav use for the up b is when you hit them mid low stage recovery and get the sour hit, you recover but they dont react quick enough to up b again and fall to the blast zone. I call it "Paying the ferryman"

The kept similarities aren't even from a economical standpoint but from a canonically stabdpoint as they aren't that different from each other in their own games apart from FLUDD/Poltergust, jump height and personality. The last of which shine through a lot in Luigi'a animation.
The biggest difference: red mario is my main and green mario is a little worse.

They should definitely give Mario and Luigi there hammers for there up smash like it could dig people in to the ground or just remain with the same properties as now (just for show) but of course that could increase the range of the attack.

Mario: I am good at aerial combos! I can do some backflip kicks, a tornado spin, and a dunk that slams you into the ground! And even if you’re on the ground, I can do a sweeping kick to get you back in the air!

There are a lot of differences between Mario and Luigi like their color schemes, their down tilts have different speeds, animations, their dash attacks are different too, all their smash attacks, side specials, and air attack, their final smashes aren't identical and neither are their grab attacks. Their body weight and height is different, their fireballs are different hits, and colors. Mario has no fears and Luigi has a fear of ghosts.
Easy:
Mario is Chad while Luigi is semi-Chad.

@@LuigisLegend Makes no sense how you can assume luigi got created first there, but here's the thing, two of them have different moves and similar moves, and if the moves do look really similar its because the animators don't have to do the work all over again and just copy the animation made for both individuals with slight changes

Meteor smashes are primarily designed to KO or gimp recovering opponents at especially low damage.
