Lyrics:
Here we are hanging on the strains of greed and blues.
Break the chain and we break down
Oh
it's not real if you don't feel it.
Unspoken expectations
ideas you used to play with
They're finally taking shape.
What's good enough for you is good enough for me
It's good enough
it's good enough for me. - เพลง
This is concentrated 80's. You've got pro wrestling, the goonies, hair band singers, Steven Spielberg, and Mario himself floating around here. Also the "music video" format was still in that very experimental stage with this being halfway between that and something trying to tell a story.
RIP Captain Lou Albano
RIP Roddy Piper
RIP Freddie Blassie
RIP iron Sheik
RIP The Fabulous Moolah
RIP Nikolai Volkoff
RIP Andre the Giant
Sad that all the WWF wrestlers are gone in the vid, except Wendy Richter.
RIP Owen Hart
RIP John Matuszak.
RIP MAY YOUNG
Gone, but never forgotten by us gen x kids
Whos listening in 2024
Terrible 80s video, awesome 80s song
Everything was better in the 80s. Music, movies, TV, video games. I miss that time. Take me back
Kids now will never understand just what a monumental movie the Goonies was to kids growing up in the 80’s.
loved Chunk and Sloth most they were so much like me always made fun of yet never let it get them down.
Made my boys watch this last month... they loved it! Never say die
I'm 20 and loved it as a kid.
Always in TV HBO@@robanthony9420
Nostalgia 😊❤❤❤❤
Quem ta ouvindo essa música em 2024
Can't believe im 44!
In the 80's...... Young people had neither internet, facebook, portable computers, MP3 Players, whatssapp, 3D Videogames, full HD televisions nor sophisticated technology in general.
However, they lived the best musical age in all mankind's history (those ages in which the best and most memorable contemporary celebrities were in their best moment), but mainly, in spite of everything THEY WERE HAPPY :')
We had some great movies in the 80's too.
I was young in the the 80's. I'd believe they were happy times even if we were livin a nuclear war.
I’m 45 years old, but yet because of goodies I keep my self young and good enough!!!!
Hard to believe, and extremely depressing, that The Goonies movie will be 40 freakin' years old next year, in 2025. I was 6 years old when it was released into theaters, way back in 1985. I still remember my Grandma and Grandpa taking me to see it...such fun times back then. It's still one of my favorite movies, even to this very day, in 2024. I pop it in, and give it a watch, every now and then. Brings back a lot of great memoires, too, but it's just an all-around great/fun movie, with an awesome cast. Ironically, I was just playing The Goonies on the NES earlier, and as soon as I get onto TH-cam afterwards, this video is in my feed. Awesome song, too, but hard to say anything negative about, anything, that Cyndi Lauper ever recorded though. Such a great time back then...and I really miss those days, and those times back then, too. Getting older is pure s**t, especially when family and friends start passing away all-around you. That's Life though, unfortunately... Here's to the better days, and times, too...🍻
Tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone. I'm same age. Give thanks for those good times and being alive right now. A 23 year old died at my job not that long ago, I always think about that when I think I'm having "a bad day". Gratitude is the ultimate prayer. Another 80s movie - Twilight Zone had a good message in it. The old people who became kids again, never live in the past and make new memories every day🙏
@@SerpentStar_ Most definitely. Totally agree, and I do try. I had to have sudden, life or death, brain surgery back in September 2020, after coming close to passing on myself, had they not caught what they did, and when they did, so I totally understand what you are saying. I have a jacked up memory now, short-term memory is forever screwed up, for good, and I can no longer even remember 6-12 hours from earlier in the day anymore because of it. Unfortunately, the only good memories I now have, are all in the past. My long-term memory is all good, for the most part, for now, so I'm able to remember all the good stuff from the past, for now, but because of the brain surgery,.I'll be more likely to have serious memory issues from now on, and it will only continue to worsen as I get older (I'm about to be 45 years old in May). It's extremely, and becoming increasingly harder now, to be happy, at all, and have any enjoyment because of how bad the past 4 years have been. Just the way it is though, unfortunately.
It's still a great film
Goonies never say die!!!
I hate it when it's edited for television. Also I've heard celebrities saying they won't let their kids watch it because it's inappropriate and sends out the wrong message.
Personally it is one of my favourite films.
No internet, no tiktok, no wa, ni FB.. what a wonderful time..
Cyndi Lauper brought together Fezzik, Samwise Gamgee, Stephanie Steinbrenner, Sloth, Steven Spielberg and Thanos. Who else could pull off that alliteration..
I'm 49. This brings back good memories. This is awesome 80's stuff.
You grew up in the best era in our history. Wish times were like that again. The internet has messed up so much. For the first few years it was good from 2005-2008, then after that it turned dark fast.
I'm 47, times were so much better back then! Everything has gotten out of hand these days, makes me sad for my granddaughter 😢
I was born in 94 and I wish I could have been beside you in years mate.
Me too, i am almost 49
I'm 48. I'm right there with you :)
This is my childhood.....Take me back to '85!
Roger smith brought me here!!
I want my MTV back dammit.
Tears swell in my eyes when i see this video and start to think of how much time has passed since my youth...what a time to be a kid!!
me too
It was not all good times, but it was like at least 90% good times.
I was watching The Goonies and hearing this made me think the very same thing. The 80's were awesome!
Man, it was the BEST. Even the fights were great. Swinging from the branches of willow trees, letting our imagination run wild... I get you. 👍
Same!!
My dad did lawn service for Cindy! I will never forget she sang for me at my 8th bday party. We have the video. I am a lil kid just looking at Cindy with eyes of love while she sang me this song. Thank you Cindy! 1989 memories!
Why not upload it? Sounds interesting!
Wow! Lucky kid
Francisco Rivero if she sang for you the least you could do is spell her name right.
Cynthia*. There you happy Salem? Good thing I didn't brag about my party being held at a McDonalds because I am sure you would be questioning what episode of the Lifestyles of the Rich and famous I appeared on. We weren't a wealthy family. Cynthia simply came by my party to leave my gift and my father had always told us she was a singer so she to took the microphone from the McDonalds party animator and sang me this song. She was very kind to our family. She used to send us boxed fruit each month too. Or should I save that story for my tell all autobiography? Lol.
Francisco Rivero calm down! he's right though, you want to brag yet can't spell her name. It appears ignorant and privileged at the same time.
"SEWER RATS! SEWER RATS! AHGGGHHHH!!"😂😂😂
Is that Mario?
She's right. The Goonies is good enough, don't touch it hollywood.
The Goonies are too good to remake.
@sy manny mchale yeah....we already saw what an all girl version of ghost busters does at the box office....DVD sales and rentals and the released merchandise.....
@sy manny mchale Agreed....
@sy manny mchale Ssss don't give them ideas! ;)
@@lukeskywalker6809 ikrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I don't give a fuck whether this undermined Cyndi's integrity, this is one of my favourite songs o all time.....
totally agreed !
Jesus I wanna go back I think about when I was a kid and how disappointed the kid me would be in the adult me why did I let drugs and alcohol ruin my life
Oh, Lord! At that time we had Madonna, Cyndi, Michael, Prince, A-Ha... nowadays we have Miley Cirus, Lady Gaga, One Direction, Justin Bieber, Avril... The future is terrible... Music Gods, please, save us!
and in the olden days artists wrote their own songs and put their own heart and soul into their pieces :/... ohhh nooo not noww!!! it's far too hard
John Torrez
Elvis didn't, but Elton John writes a LOT of music. I have no idea why you'd name him of all people, since there are other famous examples of singers you could have used. You may have been confused since Elton John doesn't write LYRICS, but he does write his own music.
But you did the opposite. You said "You mean like [...] Elton John?" with regards to not writing their own music, but he DID. And DOES. Elton John has written, for decades, and does continue to write, his own music. Your statement was utterly false, yet you respond to my comment catching you out making a false accusation as if I were verifying you. It's the opposite. You're absolutely wrong. You said that Elton John doesn't write his own music and yet his has for, what, 45 YEARS??? Then you say you gave an example of "major artists who never did" write their own music. Elton John always has and continues to WRITE HIS OWN MUSIC.
What the FUCK are you talking about?
Im a big fan of classic rock loved the 70s grew up in the 80s was always a blues, classic rock and metalhead but still enjoy some pop music especially pop music of the 80s. Todays music sucks so much. But I do like a few Lady GaGa songs. She does write her own songs. She wrote songs for other artist like Britney Sperars, Pussycat dolls and others before she got signed to a label. On the credits of her albums you wont see Lady GAGA she actually uses her real name in the credits Stephanie Germanotta. I thint she has talent I particular like it when she just sits at the piano and sings. I still like Lauper better. But I find it funny how a lot of Lauper fans trash GaGa especially when GaGa and Lauper are close friends and Lauper really loves her. Music is all just opinion though. What I think might be trash someone else loves.
What’s so sad is nearly most of them from this video are dead. Blassie, Albano, Volkoff, Moolah, Piper, all gone. RIP. Such a fun era the 80’s.
🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷 argentina 👍👍
I miss Piper. He was a genuinely cool guy. Best heel ever. "When I was well I was hell , and I had you all rocking for many years."
Andre the giant
Goonids never say "die"
What's still good is that Wendi Richter is in this video, Cyndi's Mom (Catrine Dominique), The Bangles,( you get a good shot of Susanna Hoffs )and Cyndi's ex-boyfriend and manager David Wolff. 😀💖🙏🎶👍
That man was milking a fake cow.
Summer of '85....Best Summer ever!
My older sister was born in this summer. So, definitely a good time
This is pure 100% 80's nostalgia. Cyndi Lauper, Rowdy Roddy Piper, The Goonies, every single inch.
"Mama don't like tattletales."
Lou Albano the Sheik Rowdy Roddy Piper who a Canadian wrestler btw remember other my brothers watched wwe
@@dominiquepilon5764 Not to mention Nikolai Volkoff, Classy Freddie Blassie, Fabulous Moolah and Wendi Richter. In part 2 of this music video series, you'll see members of The Bangles featured as pirates.
Is that the iron sheikh??
@@sociallynoncompliant9491 Yes it is!
RIP Catrine Lauper, mother of Cyndi Lauper. Thank you for contributing to the happiness of my childhood. I love this video (and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun), and loved and appreciated your role in them.

"How bonkers do you want this music video to be?"
"Yes"
My wife lost her younger brother recently, I lost a best friend. When we laid him to rest I made a small copy of the Goonies treasure map to take with him, his fav movie growing up in the 80’s.
I just lost my older brother and put a small Mason jar of moonshine in his casket.
Holy shitballs dude, a little warning please, that just hit me like a freight train. Goonies was my favourite movie growing up (and still is) and I wish I had someone who knew me that well to do such a sweet lovely thing.
That's one of the sweetest things I've ever heard of. Thanks for sharing that story. My condolences on your and your wife's loss.🦜🏴☠️
God bless the soul of your wife's younger brother.
I don't know your age, but if you have kids you can keep his memory alive by setting up a treasure chest and hunt.
Something like "Your uncle left us this map before he passed" you can fill it with things he enjoyed in life and share the memories with the kids.
Cyndi Lauper is more than good enough for me. Had a crush on her back then and nothing has changed watching this video again in 2015
AKarnold1010 no Amy Green? :(
***** ah pardon me, very much, you have no idea how much I love her!
Sex
What a voice! She was quite the looker, too. Still is!
ANOTHER TIMELESS CLASSIC! 80'S MUSIC RULES!! the dj
Hey yo! It’s 2024. This is still an absolute banger. And Cyndi is still an absolute babe.
If you were aged between 8-14 in the 80's you were part of something absolutely special. Much love all
I was negative 20 years old 😫
Born in 1979, and would never trade it.
Maybe to have been born in 1969.
I was born in 1974, so you KNOW I had a blast! 80's was a great decade to be a kid. Great movies, cartoons, music, sitcoms, etc. Just an incredible decade. I often watch a lot of 80's movies on Paramount and Peacock apps on my Roku device.
It was the best..
Born in 74, the 80's were my 6-16 years old!
Goonies never say die! love this song and the movie. Also this was the beginning of rock & wrestling back in the 80's.
all the way viva viva la 80's
80’s were awesome
2024 anyone… ✌️
I'm a proud Goonie for life! All of us will truly never die!

That hair. Cyndi, I will always love you.
The 80s looks like a good time to be around in, I was born 1981, wish I experienced the fun and simple life the 80s offered.
To see Josh Brolin back then as a teenager and now he’s almost an old man, then I realize that he’s only a couple years older than me.
Cyndi Is a doll, i always liked her. I bet she's so much fun to be around, like , i dare say, the ultimate Girl Friend. 😍
30 years ago today........ I was in 5th grade when I saw this movie, my how time flies!!!
StormLaker1975 Indeed, my friend, indeed...
Even more sad- the movie "Gleaming the Cube" with Tony Hawk/Christian Slater is rounding that corner as well, haha. I still ride my skateboard....if Tony still does it, why can't I, haha:-)
StormLaker1975 AND REST IN PEACE TO CORY HAIM :-)
Geez another couple years and "The Lost Boys" will round the corner to 30 years.....yikes:-(
+StormLaker1975 Fifth grade seems vastly long ago to me. I'm 31.
I miss the 80s!! This video always brings me nostalgia 😢😌 I wish time travel was real.
A lot of people think it was Hulk Hogan that brought pro wrestling into the mainstream, but it was this right here and this woman that was the other half of it, and doesn't get the credit she deserves, that she helped pro wrestling become what it is today.
gen x here, if you missed this when it happened...i truly am sorry.
RIP Andre The Giant, Classy Freddie Blassie ,Captatin Lou Albano, and Rowdy Roddy Piper

Although The Goonies is old, It will always be good enough for me.
TheBFB KEN I fucking love The Goonies. Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, Josh Brolin, etc.
facts
Just because something is old, doesn't make it inferior......
Classic's ALWAYS age well (just not many movie's recently could be considered classic's).
Fyi I love the epic Goonies movie too.
Same with goosebumps
Watching The Goonies in the theatre with my dad was one of the best highlights of my life at age 8.
That’s awesome! I remember my dad taking my brother & I to see ET in the theater. I saw Goonies at my family’s summer cottage in NH in the mid-1980s.
Movies were handled like premieres im my area. The owner of the theatre drove up to Chicago to get films then he'd make an announcement in the paper. If it was a kid's movie it was free the first night & he also held the premiere of Thriller for everybody who didn't have cable or wanted to come.Goonies brought everybody in town out.We were so excited since it was the first "teen" movie that premiered with the rest of the country.1,500 kids & we made them replay it twice 🤭❤️
Wow now I feel old I saw this movie in the theater when I was a kid
グーニーズの映画もシンデイのこのMVも大好き♥アニメ声のシンデイが超可愛い。

Holy 80s flashback. So glad I lived through this decade.
I covered this song in an acoustic set at an art space I lived at in Chinatown, Boston when I was 22 yrs old. It was awesome.

God this song makes me wish the 80's never ended
When the world we knew back then started dying at the end of the 80s era. Such an energetic, happy world then. I Always pause for thought to think back to That time, was such a great chapter in life the 80s.
I agree. I wish I could I back and relieve that entire decade.
This song brings me back to my childhood. Fun times.
Luv the goonies and this video makes me sad that today not enough kids have seen it
I am a proud goonie! Goonies never say die!
HEYYYYYYY YOUUUUUU GUUYYYYYYYYYYYYSSSS!!!
Just curious. Y’all still listening in 2024?
たまにね。
Roddy Piper 🏴☠️
They don't make movies like this, anymore.
And 38 years later, Ke Huy Quan won an Oscar! ❤ That’s good enough for me. 😊
Yeah I remember him as a kid
Many white people have won one and I couldn't care less. Oscar's mean absolutely nothing. Get over yourself
He only won an Oscar because he's a Chinese guy lucky to be around when Hollywood is trying to be Woke. If he was a White guy he won't have won anything at all. 🙂
The 80s was just about fun, freedom, and originality.
These where good times indeed...
Rowdy Piper. The greatest bad guy in wrestling history, he is truly missed.
Amen to that.
RIP, Roddy Piper.
It is either him or Ric Flair as the greastest heel in wrestling history.
There's also iron sheikh
Dont forget lou albano

This is my 1st time seeing the full music video. Seeing Piper, Blassie, Moolah, Albano, etc.. all young, in their prime, goofy, and...... alive just brings a tear to my eye!!!!
Rest in peace all the wwf legends
Same here
It sucks and is sad seeing the people we looked up to passing away or only a small shadow of their former selves.
I always ask my self am I going to be the same
Don’t forget Nikolai Volkoff mysteriously milking a fake cow in the back of a pickup truck lol

I never quite understood how she ever got associated with the WWF. Is she related to one of the wrestlers? Like Lou Albano?
