As a tintin fan this movie is insanely good, giving tintin nathan drake vibes, being more mature, and merging 3 albums + references in one movie, also giving a new story cliffhanger with the biggest pirate tresure still underwater
The only GLARING problem is that the "Four hundredweight" of gold is described like it fills a whole ship, even though it's actually about the size of the globe at the end. They could've literally changed it to "Ten thousand tonnes" and that would have fixed it
@@smallw2003that was only the gold that haddock caught in his hat after the Unicorn’s explosion. The rest lies with the wreck, which is explored in the book and cartoon TV series. Although I agree with you, there looks so be far to much gold than a single ship like that could readable carry.

Totally missed it until now, but Haddock is fighting left handed and then very clearly switches to his right soon after. Knowing the directors, it had to be a Princess Bride reference lol.
Should they ever make a New Tintin movie, I hope that when it covers Red Rackham's treasure, that it has the Unicorn be sunk not too far from an island coast, since one of the main reasons Francis Haddock was able to survive was due to staying on the island, counting his days and rationing his rum supply until he was found and rescued. ...Especially since it would mean having to deal with the parrots that learned a lot of Francis' language and passed it down through their descendants.

@@larizarichard08 True, but Rackham said they'd meet again in another life, so it could be likely that they are Rackham and Sir Francis reborn as their own descendants. Crazy, but not illogical imho.
So back in 2011 I went into the film knowing that Daniel Craig was voicing Red Rackham, and it took me awhile into the film to realize he was voicing the villian Sakharine AS WELL. I also thought it was a bit funny when they announced his casting early on, like "James Bond wearing that flamboyant Red Rackham pirate hat? Whaa...know what I'm interested to see it." This was before they announced the film would be motion capture animated.
Do you think it’s possible that Captain Archibald, Haddock is the reincarnation of his ancestor Sir Francis Haddock just as Sacarin is the reincarnation of his?
