Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?
The clip? Probably 10/10
9/10
11/10
10/10. SUCH an unexpectedly great movie.🤌
101/10
The idea of an outlaw rattlesnake with a gatling gun for a rattle tail is the single most badass thing any western movie has done, and I'll die on that claim.
Sounds like a type of weapon you would see in a Robert Rodriguez movie!
Ik it’s a movie, but how do you guys reckon he reloads?
Eats the bullets
Don't matter@@d4rk5t4r2 it's awesome, and to be honest it's probably the only kind of firearm a snake could ever use.

3-4-11 Rango
4-5-23 The Super Mario Bros. Movie
I love how jake realized that rango was not bluffing this time
I believe that her being threatened was not part of the plan, so he had to make a plan B to save her, that explains why there's a scene he says "where I come from, we call this improvisation" or something like that.
Don’t mess with a man’s love interest. Normality goes out the window when you do that.
A mans eyes don't lie.
its also a small detail but ive learned that when a chameleon goes on a hunt, its two 2 eyes are straight and focus in its prey. so Rango aint bluffin. might even another cool smalldetail when Jake realized Rango's eyes
Fun fact: a chameleon's eyes move in different directions independently, because they're constantly looking for food. But in the movie, Rango never does that, because when chameleons have their mind locked on something, their eyes move together in synchrony.
So you could say Rango is always focused?

Rango is literally the definition of “Fake it till you make it”
He wasn't faking being a hero anymore in this scene, though.
@@RedFloyd469The quote isn’t “Fake if and then just keep on faking,” it is “Fake it til you make it.” The guys literal point was that he faked it til he made it, and now he’s made it, and in this scene he is a hero.
@jeromevaleska2014 okay, so this story is about how faking it doesnt work, and that you gotta be able to back up the claims you make. This movie is ABOUT how you shouldn't lie to get up in life
@@FinniganHealeyTrue. For those people who chase the holy grail of leadership, this movie is a case study.
Still looks better than most animation today.
Because it’s stylized. These days for some dumb reason, studios want to make “true to reality” animation. Then you end up with the uncanny valley. This style is far more interesting and much better

Rango is a tale of conviction, and i love it so damn much
While this is true, what it misses may not be obvious. How the story ends depends on what is in the chapters that you must write.
As we learned from the Matrix, it all comes down to choices and the consequences of those choices. Take the blue pill and do one thing, or take the red pill and do something else. Take the road often traveled or the road less traveled.

your dad has good taste
I can't believe this is from 2011, it looks crazy how well animated it is :O
Exactly !
you mean the texture and models? ik the animation is good BUT LOOK AT THE DETAILS ON RANGO AND JAKE
It says alot about how much animation has fallen when most modern animation is pretty janky and boring compared to older animated movies like this.
@@Slayer398 I think a lot of why animations today are sub-par is that the animators aren't given enough time to polish their work.
Also, this film stands out quite well because it's not clean or symmetrical like most disney or pixar stuff nowadays.
@@Slayer398 I don't know if my comment makes it seem like I am urging because people can't hear the tone in my voice, but I am just here to do what I love, which is gain information :).
Anyway, when I see a comment like this, I usually have two questions.
1. Does the person actually mean the most? Because it can be difficult for a lot of people to actually experience most of the things that the person is talking about, in a lot of cases, there are thousands and thousands of things to experience.
2. What is the difference between how many of the older versions of these things the person has experienced and how many of the newer versions of the things the person has experienced? Because a person's experience can have and has had an absolutely huge impact on what a lot of people say and think.
Bill Night definitely knows how to play monstrous characters, and his peformance as Rattlesnake Jake is one such example.

Guess we can all tell who the loser is here.
I always wondered about the bat thing and why he had brought them. I knew it was to look like a hawk to scare him so Rango could get the upper hand.
But then I watched it the other day, and heard the mole Matriarch say, "Stick to the plan! Bleed him dry!" And realised that part of the plan was to make him use all his bullets so he couldn't shoot Rango.
💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
That's also a pun with the actual way some species of bat's are feeding themselves
Big brain moment
My theory is if Jake didn't realize it's bats he would slither away from town as fast as he could so Rango wouldn't have to fight em.
They probably had a backup plan in case he did found out.
@@choloas "Stick to the plan, boys! Bleed him dry!"

Cartoon animations is just a medium, any man of culture can appreciate art.
People who think animation or cartoons are always for children are themselves not fully grown up, mentally speaking.
Actual adults appreciate good art, no matter the medium.
Fun fact
Johnny Depp and Bill Nighy were also in Pirates of the Caribbean
And they were also in a duel.
I wonder if any dialogue from Pirates snuck into the deleted scenes.
And this is from the same director.

I simply love the fact that even on his own cunning, faking way he'd still care about the town and the people in it. He lied to everyone in their faces but what makes Rango so likeable is that he did everything he could to make them not giving up on hope.
Man the Textures,Lighting and Animation for a 2011 movie is far superior than current movies given the fact they had less advanced softwares. It's the artistry that matters man.

Jack Sparrows and Davy Jones fight in an alternate universe be like:
It's so weird looking but very clever that Jake has a line mustache even though snakes can't have body hair. It's much like the other Wild Western bad guys with facial hair compensating the good guys on whose more badass!
Supposed to be a reference to lee van cleef’s character in the good, the bad and the ugly
They're also a reference to heat pits that snakes naturally have, so it's even more clever that they arrange them to look like a mustache
The trumpet goes hard.

Jake VS Cad Bane would go hard
not sure why jake was afraid of the hawk he has a fully automated gatling gun for a tail what exactly is stopping him from shooting the thing?
Probably trauma from the past or hawk very fast not even Jake eyes couldn't catch up
Instinct. That's why he's afraid of it. Yes, he could shoot at it, but he won't do that out in the open.
I'm going to assume that they don't know the difference between a hawk and a bat, a hawk can hunt down prey at a speed even faster than the human eye that not even a snake would see it coming. 😷
Hawks eat snakes for breakfast.
Literally.
Because if you can't see, they are animals. And this, what makes its fun, they play the role human gunslinger, but every now and then that show it still animals, and like this, snakes instinctly afraid of their mortal enemies - hawks
What always gets me is that this is Davy Jones (Rattlesnake Jake voiced by Bill Nighy) and Captain Jack Sparrow (Rango voiced by Johnny Depp)
I can't belive they made the main character a chameleon, yet never have him move his eyes separately. What is this even???

There’s no way that’s been there the entire time, that’s insane
i gotta say, making a rattlesnake with a minigun went so much ahrder than if it was just another gunslinger like rango, god i love this movie.
Rango.. Is a good movie. The beginning is fun and well-paced to let us know what Rango is like. The climax, from the introduction of Jake, to Rango meeting The Man with No Name, to the final showdown is nothing short of amazing. The reason it's a good movie and not great, for me, is the middle. The middle is way too slow and it can honestly be cut from the film and you'd not exactly miss anything. Yes, it does have a purpose but I feel it could have been done differently or, at the very least, had a bit of a quicker pace to it. Love the beginning, the middle drags too much, but the climax of the film is near-perfection.
So well made
This is one of the most underated animations ever, it deserves more credit, it's just too great to be forgotten
That got him rattled
I remember when Gore Verbinski was going to adapt Bioshock. I wish we could've seen it.
God damn, this animation is awesome just lack of marketing which made this underrated...

i dont think theres a point in asking if its already a snake with a multi barrelled machinegun for a rattle
Ummmm, with his mouth or something ?
I keep hearin Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones in Texas
Cus they are
here's how that line should've went
"look into my eyes, i wanna see the life leave yours."
No, it doesn’t flow well. “Eyes” and “die” sound very similar so it gives the line that flow, whilst communicating the same frightening message.
@@jeromevaleska2014 it doesn't need to rhyme for it to flow well. it's all in how you say the line the makes it work
@@lafingscarecrow I never said it needs to rhyme, though that can enhance it. I said they sound similar and in this case it gives it that better flow. Here you start with a short, succinct phrase “Look into my eyes,” and then queue into a long winded mouthful by comparison “I wanna see the life leave yours.” It doesn’t sound right, it breaks the flow of the sentence. The original line is already perfect. It communicates the exact same message, it does it in a manner far more quicker and succinct. It’s catchy, it flows well, everything about it works. With yours, it loses that quick, succinct, catchy nature of the original, it tries to hard to overcomplicate things. We don’t always need to find some clever replacement for the word die. Sometimes a simple die is the most effective choice. As a result of this, it breaks immersion and it loses the intimidation factor. If that was what Jake had said, it would have pulled me out of the scene instantly. Any way you say that line, it just doesn’t work here. I mean no disrespect, only to criticise. Criticism is important, it is one of the many ways we improve.
@@jeromevaleska2014 my god dude, this isn't english class. you didn't need to have an entire essay prepared. i was just saying i think my line would sound cooler and make jake sound more badass. if you don't agree then that's fine, but you don't need to explain in detail why the way he says it is now is better. it's simply a matter of opinion. i respect your opinion, and i hope you respect mine as well. and no disrespect to you as well
He's here to remind the snake about his new car insurance policy!!
so... if the spider is the undertaker... one could argue that also insects are centient here... and he basically murdered that dragonfly in cold blood...
Jake: That ain’t no hawk
Jake also: *chillin*
Calling him "Jake the rattlesnake" and not "Rattlesnake Jake" was criminal
I feel like this movie is underrated as hell and goddamn, it still holds up to todays standards, if not better.
This is actually Jack Sparrow vs Davy Jones and that's quite funny
What makes this so cool is that- Jake KNEW Rango took the bullet from his gun, his eyes followed Rango's hands. I feel like Jake somehow knew he could've said something about it but rather wanted to keep it a secret from John because he was curious to what Rango was going to do.
Think about it, right now would've been the PERFECT time for Jake to just laugh or at least give a snicker or a smile at Rango's surrender, but no, he widened his eyes and watched the sherrif hand in his gun but still have a bullet hidden, which at any point he could've snitched it off.
Even when Rango gets locked in, Jake doesn't seem cocky or smiling like he would whenever he watched or even tried to kill someone, he seemed like he was on his guards, wanting to see what this new version of Rango would prepare this time.
And in the end, Jake's curiosity paid off as that's what saved him from being shot by John.
You can call Jake an a-hole, sure, but he does demonstrate some sort of western honor
Recently been playing god of war, so for a minute i thought this was Jörmungandr with a sombrero😂
Jake I think accepted that he had been beat and was legitimately upset that their duel was interrupted by an interloper
Young Blood back to press the Old Head Jake, now with confidence.
One of my favorite things of this movie is the betrayal of Jake The rattleSnake he couldn't control him
Why is no one talking about that line from Maybelle: "Let's bleed this devil dry!"
I love how jake turns on the mayor not because he betrayed him but because he did cheat Rango into yielding. Like duude thats what cowards do and Jake ain't gonna win like a coward
