I was gonna use my moon ball on the shiny cetoddle I hunted but when I reloaded the game it despond cuz I was using the sandwich method
And then you randomly encounter the pokemon you really can't live without and you realize you don't have your master ball.

@@TheFlamingTurkeyYou don't need more than 2 brain cells to figure it out dude. Twave for general catching purposes, hypnosis for ground and electric types since they are unaffected by twave and sunny day so they don't die to hail or sandstorm.
You could back out of the battle grab the ball out of boxes and reecountwr in most cases

I would be sooo much happier if Pokemon had an option to move pokemon to a new ball after you'd caught it.
Like it would destroy the old ball and use up a ball you already have but it would mean I could use all the more useful pokeballs and keep my clean looking 'all standard pokeballs' look or put my mons in balls that suit them without having to be prepared all the time every time.

@@froggygoblin6514 then don't play... the basic ball is meant for basic pokemon... you have the choice to throw whatever ball you want at whatever you want if you picked the wrong ball that's one you... starter pokemon come in starter balls... if you want them in a different ball figure out how breeding works... changing balls is stupid and defeats the purpose the pokeballs is registered to the pokemon that was captured in it no other pokemon can go in it... with exceptions of mutli pokemon or fusion (eggsacute fralinks cylerax) the second you take it from the ball it was registered in means you released it... you would have to capture it again but since this isn't the cartoon when you release a pokemon they delete not actually go back into the wild... you cannot change balls. It would change the game and it's pillars and it would ruin the all around experience of trading and you would never be able to tell if the pokemon is hacked or real cuz you could hack a cherish ball Mon and change it's ball... now who would know it was hacked... use your brain before choosing excitement over properly functioning mechanics

Literally nothing you said matters, and there’s no reason they couldn’t just say “We made a machine that lets you change the pokeball a Pokémon is in without releasing it” which is pretty much how every new mechanic is introduced. I bet you cried about bottle caps too.
Also they could just say Pokémon in cherish balls can’t have their balls changed. Not that it’s even a good indicator of if something is hacked, their own systems can barely tell that shit.

I don’t understand why there isn’t a better way to identify what Pokémon you caught with which pokeball. I caught several tinkatuff and wanted to use the one with a luxury ball, but I had to go on a big search to find out which one was which.

beast ball has insanely low catch rate for mons that arent ultra beasts.
Using one in anything but a raid is basically a waste since those are (seemingly) 100% Catch rates

@@RealPeasantLord I don't think so. I haven't played Scarlet or Violet but back in the XY days people would have a random pokemon holding a Master ball as a way to trade it for something rare like a shiny.
@@kioombathekirbygoomba5346 if you trade it the held item goes to whoever the pokemon goes to (lost a destiny knot that way) but if you release it the item should go into your inventory

At this point the masterball means nothing given the only time I ever used one in my life was to catch my first shiny winggul and never used them after. Every game I have if you check the data just has a masterball chilling

I recommend giving it to your ride koraidon/miraidon, it just makes it easier not to lose it

I always try to catch Pokemon of certain types in certain types of Pokeballs. For example I use Dusk Balls for Dark and Ghost types, Net Balls for Bug types, Dive Balls for Water types, and Heal Balls for Fairy types. I feel like this makes them happier plus the animation that happens when they are sent out makes them look cooler.
I had my Miraidon hold my Masterball so I won't forget it and won't even use it~

Wild Pokemon haven't been able to steal your items since Gen 3, and the only way for that to happen in Gen 2 is if a wild Ditto or Smeargle copies your own Thief, as it's a TM-exclusive move.

Good news you can get every pokeball avilable in the game more than once apart from the master ball via actsions and the tornyment
I started doing this in Sapphire, when my sister managed to use the Master Ball on a Skarmory while trying to use a Great Ball

I remember playing Pokemon Ultra Sun back when it came out, caught all legendaries, no master ball used. Then I was doing one of the scanner things and got a Togekiss, and I accidentally threw my master ball! Oops! Well, at least it wasn't a Yungoose!

That only applies with Thief, Trick, Covet, and Switcheroo, because Snatch only steals status moves that add stat changes (that, and snatch doesn’t exist in Scarlet and Violet, dexit moment)

My tip would just to put as favourite pokeballs like rapid, dust ball, heal, net ect and sort by favourite
Acorn and master ball will be far away from the commun ball threw and you will have it anytime because you cannot predict when you will want to use it

Used this trick all the way back in the RSE era because my sister had a habit of accidently throwing it at random stuff. Too bad it kinda backfired when she went to catch Groudon without it, though it was hilarious when she caught it in a Dive Ball

Since the early games I've started using only the generic Pokeball to catch every single mon. It becomes very difficult later on but I just like the look of the classic ones more.

When you use a Master Ball and it fails to catch a Pokemon or when you transfer a masterball so you have two and both fail to catch a Pokemon. That happened to me once when I tried to catch a Zapdos.
There is a move another Pokémon can use to steal someone's held item
This will be so nice. I once accidentally caught Calyrex with a heal ball. I used so many pokeballs in that fight.
Or just bite the bullet and soft reset if you accidentally throw it. Just try to save after you get certain milestones or shinies so you don’t lose too much data if you have to reset. So much more convenient in the long run

In Pokémon Sword I was walking through the The Armor island and found a Luxray. I accidentally used my master ball and i still have eternal regret.
The funny thing is that in the Crown Tundra I couldn’t catch Shadow Rider Calyrex and had to use a timer ball

Give it to your legendary pokémon. You’ll remember if they have the ball or not, and there’s only one copy of them. You also will probably not be using them for battle so they dont need battle options. You can also give it to your koraidon/miraidon and switch it to ride mode so you’ll never use it
I remember in FireRed we had the ability to store items in the "*insert player name*" PC.
surely, you wont forget it being stored away that way and thus either go into a battle without it when you need it or even trading away the one holding out
Decided to catch a Cryogonal in a Beast ball. Fun fact about Cryogonal, it has a lot of cool physical moves like poison jab and acrobatics but sadly it's attack stat is 50 base 🙃. It works as a weaker Blissey but it also has rapid spin so not a terrible mon.

I used it on a shiny slither wing! I was hunting this this every day for a month and I was so exhausted. A few days later, as soon as I got to area zero, it was there. I caught the beautiful queen as it was and it is a level 100 on my main team.
Back in the day I knew not what a masterball was unique for, so I caught a Koffing with it :D

I catched a shiny Ditto in a master ball and I have absolutely no regrets. I didn't even search for it, it was a lucky coincedence which makes it even better
