So I found out you technically can get extra Beast Balls, but it's a random reward from the Academy Ace Tournament and the chances are pretty low. Still, might help someone else who wants to do this for some reason
It's really really low, I'm autofarming it for a Beast ball and it's so rare.
@@draegore in a datamine it was revealed that the beast ball is a 0.1% drop
Beast ball really does compliment miraidon
For more general catching, Breloom has Spore (100% Accurate Sleep) and false swipe. Use a pokémon with Soak to sleep grass types and swipe ghost types.
that's a good strat, honestly I should have used Breloom, but I didn't have one at the time

Having a pokemon in your dex increases crit capture chance btw.

he already had miraidon in his dex if hes at this point in game so this information is kinda useless for this hunt
I couldn't imagine going for legendaries with only 1 beast ball. Even with the item glitch, it took me multiple attempts because Mira and Kori would struggle KO themselves. Hopefully they have a Beast Ball seller like USUM in the DLC. It's a pain for me personally because the Beast Ball is my favorite ball to catch everything possible in it.
This is actually a great idea. Maybe I'll do two speedrun through Scarlet and Violet once Home comes out to try this myself. I still have my Beast Balls from both of my save files.
You shoudl definitely do it! It's super cool seeing Miraidon pop out of the Beast ball any time I use it
Watched this since I'm planning to do my own hunt, really great info! I knew it was gonna be tough, but I completely blanked on the electric terrain needing to be dealt with, but I still need to catch a Chien-Pao, so it'll be fresh by the time I get to attempting the catch. Lucky me :)

Currently doing this with Gouging Fire and then Raging Bolt next, already caught WW in a Beast Ball on the raid.
I managed to catch Miraidon in a beast ball using the same techniques, but i used Urshifu for false swipe and Amoongus for spores to put it to sleep and some backup pokemon that don't die easily to Miraidon along with Max Revives, i forgot which they were, but here's what i did:
I turned off auto save so if i accidentally kill Miraidon or if i run out of beast balls i just close and reopen the game, i set my save point in *"Zero gate"* so i can place the picnic and make the sandwich *(i used the same sandwich recipe #69)* to increase my chances then walk inside the building to teleport to *"Research Station No. 4"* you exit the research station and just walk straight where Miraidon is, then the loop began of instant break outs and running out of beast balls, for me it took five resets before i got a crit capture.
Trust me when i say this you will eventually get Miraidon in a beast ball if you want to do this, as long as you're patient and willing to go through resets and the pain of instant breakouts, you'll get your crit capture eventually, don't give up.
an X accuracy will boost Hypnosis to 100% accuracy.
If i knew this earlier i wouldve tried getting that beast ball for miraidon
I got both box legends in beast balls. :3
X items, and catching power 3 sandwiches helped me out.
Also fun tip, you dont need the bread to get a sandwich full effects.

Most of all my mons are in beast balls. The animation of the ball when the mon comes out is the best.

I’m currently on this dreaded path. I’m using scizor holding a normal gem it gets miraidon down to 1 in 2 turns and for the terrain I’m using indeedee with psychic surge but you gave me the idea to use eject button to switch it out on Power Gem on it that should make this go a little faster! I almost raised another indeedee lvl 1 and used another ability patch for the same result.
Good to know a crit is possible that gives me hope. I feel like I’ve only caught Pokemon in crits this whole game.
Update: I DID IT!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Final strategy was to start with indeedee and baton pass on the first turn, that way it’ll take damage and if it doesn’t you can still switch out. I switched into Breloom holding a silk scarf. At max stats + technician ability False swipe is guaranteed to get Miraidon to 1hp in 2 turns. Then Spore. I was consistently able to try to catch it on the 5th turn every time.

I planned to catch it in a beast ball too, so i prepared a dragon catching power lv2 sandwich, flew down to Miraidon, weakened it with a fairy move, and caught it first try.
I remenber i once was getting zacian for a trade and i randomly decided to try to catch it with a beast ball sinse i wasn't gonna use the savefile anymore and it was a pain to catch, i wanted to quit só badly but i eventually got it
I don't mean to brag but I got very lucky on a recent playthrough of Pokemon Scarlet catching Koraidon very easily in a Beast Ball

I caught mine in a Heavy ball. The animation fits well
Heavy ball definitely works too, but I really enjoyed the challenge of the best ball
I would really like Shiny Miraidon in a Heavy Ball.
I use vivillion with the compound eyes ability and sleep spore. Rarely misses.
For shield I just kept throwing the ball without catching and reset it when it didn’t catch it. Eventually caught it at full hp

Luckily I got them duped before it was patched so I can throw until I feel like I’ve wasted too much or if they end up struggling.

All that testing and patience and the real determining factor was luck 😂 which i guess it always was but still
I'm kinda sad I didn't get that edge of the seat moment waiting for the confirmation after the 3rd shake! but regardless it was a great moment!
What would be the best ball for matching shiny Ceruledge?
Hard to say, I think mine is in a premier ball, the Luxury ball would be good too since it has the sparkly animation

6:50 it was not crit
in gen 9 if you had the pokemon in the dex GF make it faster and give an instant catch animation.
and because you had miraidon from the beginning of the game you get this animation.
you can only get a crit catch if you dont have the pokemon in you dex at the moment.
so there are now 7 catch animation
zero wobble and break out
first wobble and break out

three wobbles and catch
crit catch
fast catch
Yeah, I learned that after making this video, but I'm glad I didn't know at the time because it would have ruined all the suspense!
If only Breloom still had Spore, it would be perfect with False Swipe and 100% accurate sleep Spore

felt too passive to me, like I can lead indeedee but then I can't do anything else so I lose a turn switching

Capture power doesn’t work on static encounters
I used the copy glitch to get 10 balls of each apricorn ball... having only 1 per game file is dumb imo...
I'm not a fan of abusing glitches hence I didn't do it, but I agree it's dumb to only give 1

What a waste of a video! All that about putting Miraidon in a beast ball, and we didn't even get to see the animation of how the legendary looks coming out of the pokeball! It would've just been 10 seconds more of footage that could've made clicking on this video worthwhile, but that was too much. Way to be anti-climatic.
