    I think Greavard could theoretically be reborn from any dog-like Pokémon, not necessarily a single species. There's a book in the academy's entrance hall that talks about Ryme, and how her "Puppy Pokémon" (a category shared by a number of Pokémon) came back to her as a ghost type after she wrote a song in his memory. Sure enough, she has a Greavard named DJ G-Rave who she won't send into battle.

      This is what I think as well. It doesn't specifically say unknown dog pokemon, just that it died without knowing human love.

      Greavard's Evo, houndstone, has the same ability as the stoutland from the anime, so greavard might be stoutland's old evo

      DJ G-Rave must be the Greavard vibing on top of that huge speaker during the gym battle when all the Houndstone popped out of the ground. I have no proof, but I have no doubts either.

    I took greavard's dex entry to be more open ended and apply to all dog Pokemon. If a herdier dies without human contact it becomes a greavard, rockruff dies it becomes greavard, tamper becomes greavard, etc

    The Secret Terrestrial Pokémon is also mentioned in the Violet/Scarlett book in the entrance hall at the school. It's not named there either, but it is described with glitchy text and I'm pretty sure based on the context clues that it is called "The Disk Pokémon"

    • @jaidenkoch3487
      @jaidenkoch3487 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @thejim8765 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yeah I came to say this too. The hexagon plate Pokémon. The picture looks like a bit like a turtle. The entry in the book says:
      “While separated from the research team in the creator’s depths, I found a strange…entity. Weather it was a Pokémon, or even alive at all, I know not. It bore a shell with layers of overlapping hexagons, and gleamed brighter than gemstone. Viewed as a whole, it resembled a mysterious, brilliant disk.”

      @@Ju5t4l1z4rd maybe the rock type was already their pure form the entire time, they are ancient from a time were there was no steel and humans were much less developed if they existed at all, the rock type just screams "old things" for them and that may be it, aerodactyl did get an mega form and it was still a rock type after all but it would be awesome if it happned. Megas are based on how the pokemon looked in the distant past when they were more wild and feral and had to battle to survive all the time, to the point that the paradox past salamance is based on his mega evolution, it would be awesome if by some means in a dlc we get to see more paradox pokemons who are based on pokemons who may mega evolve or they bring back megas for the dlc all together (maybe by equiping the mega stone the pokemon will use the energy to mega evolve instead of terastalizing and tha is how they limit them to balance the game.

    The third legendary which is the origin of the terastal phenomenon is supposed to be a Faberge Egg like being. This might actually just be it's dormant state since most of the third legendaries or trio masters that Pokemon have revealed in the past few generations have had a second form that's not initially revealed to us. Like complete Zygarde, ultra Necrozma, eternamax Eternatus etc. So this particular Pokemon could be an egg that hatches or transforms into something else at full power.

    I have a theory: The first secret pokemon you mention may actually be Arceus, or somehow related to it.
    The name has 6 characters like the text boxes, it mentions "hexagonal plates" and while in the games the plates are rectangular, the Jewel of Life movie displays the plates as hexagonal with a similar texture to the terastal crystal stuff. Finally, the plates give arceus a specific type like how tera types work. Also, the time stuff makes sense because Dialga controls time and Arceus is the creator of Dialga.
    However, it does describe an interlocking "shell" so perhaps its another form of Arceus, or alternatively another legendary created directly by Arceus

    TERASTALLIZING WAS DISCOVERED BEFORE THE PROFESSORS!! In the books there is a chapter where the author Heath describes going into a sleep and waking up with the picture on the left page. This page literally shows how Terastallizing works. The Hexagonal gem inside the Tera Orb amplifies a sort of light energy around the pokemon allowing it to Terastallize. The Professors grew up with this book, that's how they were able to invent the Tera Orb. They read about the mysterious Disk Pokemon their entire lives wondering, now we're wondering when the DLC it shows up in will come out...bummer. But at least Area Zero was a fun and beautiful experience, and it's theme hits hard.

    I think Quaxly line is the standard form in the region it came from. Quaquaval seems to be inspired by "Carnaval". Also, Skeledirge seems to be inspired by Día de los Muertos. Whether or not it’s Glimmora itself, or just related to it, idk.

    I think Quaxly might have originated in Unova because it's from a 'distant land ' and since its the only Paldea starter with a non-Spanish inspired name. Something more farfetched is that it's just a Ducklett variant but I highly doubt it.

  • @attaug
    @attaug 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    For the quaxly thing, a regional variant is a neat thing to think about. But as far back as Red and Blue the starters have been non-native to their regions. Some of the games, until the remakes (Fire Red and Leaf Green), make some mention of the starters being sent from "a friend/colleague" as an explanation as to why you can't catch them in the region you get them.
    Some games, notably remakes of older gens, forego this and sprinkle in the starters on some random route so that they can be acquired more easily. I wouldn't be surprised if Sprigatito and Fueccoco were from another region despite their dex entries not mentioning it. I feel the tidbit about Quaxly migrating over has to do with the fact many birds migrate for the winter/summer. It'd make sense for some to just settle or be caught in the regions they migrate to.
    I also think the first secret pokemon is actually going to be a variant of Zygarde. It is known for it's hexagonal cells, and has been shown to be in multiple forms depending on how many of it's cells have been gathered. If we accept this to be the case it would also make sense for the hexagonal crystals on the tera-crowns to be this speculative new zygarde form's cells. Yes, incomplete zygarde is known to be serpentine or canine but whose to say a new variant of it wouldn't be similar to a tortoise. In terms of the "six letter name" it could just be they used six "redacted" boxes to give themselves an out or obfuscate the pokemon's name. I believe it's the same number of boxes in each language that censors the name but I cannot check at current, it'd be interesting to look into the Japanese version and other language settings of the game to see how this one is spoken of. They could also use a renamed variant of Zygarde to fit the six letter name if they wanted to and, given what they did with Wigglet and Toedscool, I could see them calling it a new/different pokemon.
    In terms of the Varoom, I'd be interested to see what Pokemon they'd use to animate an inanimate scrapped engine. I also think it's good to temper expectations as if they ever did show what pokemon was the reason for its birth it could be an existing one. Saying "an unknown poison pokemon" could just mean that it's known a poison pokemon entered the scrapped engine and created Varooms but which one did so is the part that is unknown. If we go with this theory I'd say it could be part of the Gastly line, as they are poison pokemon and being a ghost as well they could realistically posses an inanimate object, potentially leading to the creation of a new pokemon species.
    These kinds of videos are super interesting, and even though I might sound like I'm attempting to counter your points I'm not, I'm simply offering alternate explanations as this video got me thinking about neat ways older pokemon could be reintroduced.

Considering how difficult it is to avoid getting noticed by pokemon, it'd be next to impossible to monitor a Maschief until it died and became a Greavard without getting noticed.

    Varoom has a few points in its dex entry that quickly narrow down its prime candidate, if you look closely. While the original Pokémon being a poison type doesn’t narrow things down by itself. The fact that it “inspirited” an engine, is the key to narrowing it down. You could take that as meaning a Ghost/Poison type is the prime candidate. In fact, we have one that appears in the region. Ghastly! A Gaseous entity that could have possessed an engine and perhaps burned its own fumes as the engine started and causing it to become infused, or rather “inspirited” into the engine. Loosing its ghost typing in the process!

    if you go to the school library you can find a copy of the scarlet or violet book that arven uses, and at the very end the researcher on the expedition says he felt possessed and doesn't remember writing part of it even though it is his handwriting. Part of it is a sketch of the hexagon shell pokemon that you have as the first secret pokemon. You might want to go look at that entry to see what he says and look at the messy sketch of it.

    I think the source of the terastallizing phenomenon is a mythical Pokémon that is being released in an event or DLC
