Truthfully Trev. I've recently fallen off on videos. I've been so busy with my own builds and shop that I haven't really had time. But I just wanted to tell you how much of an inspiration your drive to get shit done is. -sincerely a random viewer.
So on the Holley max you have a option for manual shifting. When we do dyno pulls we put the transom third and right before we mat it down to make the pull we hold the button down and it keeps the trans in the selected gear aka 3rd. Everything depends on what your trying to do with the car 1/4 mile I have 3.31’s and I’ve gone 155 in the quarter with some rpm’s left up top but if your doing around town stuff 3.73 would be good
That’s crazy. I also have a turbo notch with the same problem, the rear end moves when the torque comes on but on mine the bushings top arms are shot. I also have the same transmission cooler and mounted in the same spot as this one.
Looking good! You’ll notice the bump steer kit on there. I can’t remember if you put them on or not but the torque box reinforcement plates are a very good idea. These cars are pretty hard on rear suspension parts! 3.73s or 4.10s will make it like a different car.
a 275/60/15 radial and the 4l80e 3:55s would be perfect. I run 3:27s and its almost just right but still a little too tall of a gear. I thought about some 3:73 but I don’t think it would load the turbo enough.
Once the torque reading is verified to be right, then you know the horsepower reading is accurate. Horse power is a product of torque. If the torque reading isn't right then the horsepower ìsnt either. I agree that the horsepower you see is a number you can work with. Having a base line number and using the dyno as a tool to see improvements in that number is all you really are looking for. If you were done with your first pull and it reads 12 and your follow ups with more duty says 15 then you know there's improvements there. Good luck, can't wait to see your follow up to this. Youll get it dialed in soon enough. Talk to the guy who makes your controller and see what he recommends to get you going.
What a great car and a good start of an explanation of the ins and outs of a dyno. When are you going to paint that mustang? It really needs a nice paint job and a good livery with Motion Auto TV and Motion Auto Performance all over it.
Don't fear the gear if you aren't traction kimtied 4.10. In my truck I was gonna run nitrous 408 and 4.30 on a 4l80 ratio. Wanted 12s with a full weight single cab. You'll go faster with less weight. You might also l I'll e 3.73s just depends how the gear ratio and speeds work
Go run the mustang on another dyno and see if its fairly close to the same numbers so you know that your either going in the right or wrong direction with the settings !! I know you and others have probably said it but me personally would do the dyno rips and go straight to another dyno and see if the dynos close . I know every dynos a tad different but would be cool to see
You need to get rid of those bc coilovers and get some proper drag suspension on that thing. Also if you haven’t already you need to put torque box reinforcements on it before you rip a torque box out of it.
Its easy enough to weld in some torque box stuff. Hes got adjustable suspension that will work for a lot more than just drag racing unless youre talking about tubbing it or something.
torque box reinforcements are less than $200 so we’ll worth it. He’s obviously trying to build a drag car out of it so some basic bc coilovers aren’t a very good choice for that. He needs some better spring rates, longer front travel, and both compression and rebound adjustments.
@@Isaacm328 People have gone like 9s on stock 4cyl fox suspension. I really dont think his bc coilovers are end all be all especially if he doesnt want a trailer queen.
The difference though is stock 4 cylinder suspension is a lot softer and has more travel. I’m not saying he can’t run it at the track like that I’m just saying it’s not a good choice compared to what’s out there for these cars. My last fox on budget suspension dead hooked on the street launching at 4500.
3.73s with a 26 inch tire drives identically to a 4.10 with 28 inch tires. Hes gonna want more tire under the car anyway so may aswell take better advantage of the gearing. Should get out the hole a lot better too.
Comment for the algorithm
Cool to see James out giving you a hand on the dyno. Can't wait to see the Mustang at the track.

Trevor and Taylor Ray are two of my favorites due to the fact they are so hands on. Trevvy built and Garage Built.
Agreed!!
With the 4L80e. I’d run a 3.73 gear. On a 28inch tall tire, it’ll run to just about 7000rpm and top out around 150mph.
Damn that mustang is coming alive now!!! I really like the tuning content.
Love to see this man work.. he can do stuff thats others cant
Waiting patiently for the Trevvy paint job on the foxbody👀👀
Nooo! Patina preservation!!
👀 primer vids?
Man o man. This thing is so rad!! happy to see the dyno working good!
One of my favorite channels on here. Thank you for sharing your life with us Trevor.
Miss my fox. The undesired vert. Can’t wait to see a certain 7.3 S550 on the dyno. Wink wink
The dyno for this channel is a game changer. Soooo much power.
Nice dyno trevor keep doing the good job

If it's the same as my fox, the rear end is a 2.73 ratio, which would make sense.
This thing is going to boogie.
Glad to see the dyno up amd running too, will be a great addition to future videos
James is an awesome guy super smart and his car Clyde is so sick love that thing
Let's go motion auto respect to you and your team watching from the uk

Clear coat this patina 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 really love this stang
I'm happy trevy is more frequently uploading recently 👌🏼👌🏼
More to come!
put a 373 in it i feel like it would flyyyy at the track
Nice, having a Dyno in the shop is the next level. 👍
That fox is making some power 💥
This guy has so many toys now
okay! turbo fox is putting in work
Content has been great lately keep up the good work
I could tell you are excited its finally working right.
Not really a fan of a Foxbody or LS for that matter but I enjoy Motion Autos content.
It's dope❤
As a media creator i must say, epic fuckin editing . Epic
Thank you - editor :)
The turbo sounds good 😮
Keep it rising🎉

best video in a while love it
i would recommend a 28 inch tire and a 373 gear
Editing on point. These projects are moving along nicely! Love it.
I love fox body interior

Looks like mad max film when you pull fox body out of shop

I enjoy your videos Trevor. Much better now that your mechanic friend is gone. I find videos are more family friendly.
Love the mustang so sick
Right on bud!
Foxbodies came with 2:73, 3:08 in stick cars, 3:27 in auto cars. 3:55 is probably the best all around gear generally
My Mark Viii had 3.08 gears. You could almost do 100 in seccond with the 4spd auto
With a tall tire like hes running, 4.10 or higher would be plenty of gear for shenanigans
If those wheel speeds are correct you have to change that rear end gearing.
You should do a rusty painting on it
For reference, On All Cyclinders made 829/761 on a gen 3 4.8 with cam, e85, and 16psi
Certainly hope to see you on Rocky Mountain Race week in a couple weeks!
I was thinking 580ish hp and it made way more than I thought it could make
Love the Power Block(Nation) music choice.
Should we do more with that style of music, or do you guys prefer the beats-style music???
I have pretty eclectic music tastes, so I'm good with both for some variety.
Seems like you are about ready for Steel City finally!
A cam'd 4.8 makes what 275 at the tire? Double that at 14psi
What cam are you running?
Can you plz paint that mustang , it’s killing my eyes to see junk, when your known for your beautiful paint jobs
You should take it to ls fest west next year...
Big fan of the Fox Body that car could be really cool, The body looks solid no rot and it's just asking to go fast. One thing though oily rag resto 👌
And put the 6.7 on there when it’s done I was one of the only ones too vote it when you put the poll up
Fn dope man can’t wait to see the rsx
what camera did you use guys¿ good videos!
You should put a juicy cam on the mustang
Yeah, I wouldn't hate having that car
What rear gear?
Guesses (dont know which turbo), 12psi 650
20psi 850
Ahh my Navy days are coming back: Hp = Tq x rpm/5252....Sweet !!
900 ft pounds above 5252 RPM doesn't sound right. Way over 1000 HP at that point.....
Using the Equation IF 620 HP @ 7400 RPM is correct the Torque would come to 440 LB FT. Using the equation.
3.73 gear would be awesome in that setup
She definitely made some jam 🔥

I know you and others have probably said it but me personally would do the dyno rips and go straight to another dyno and see if the dynos close . I know every dynos a tad different but would be cool to see
Or run a car you know the figures for on this dyno to see if it's set up right.
690 for a stock 4.8 on 12psi seems pretty high.
@WGTC_FOTS_25 same difference when ya think about it lol! But for sure !
@@1one3_Racing .
@@bluesk8crew yeah, but easier! I think Trev said he was struggling to secure dyno time
I think it deserves a paint job after Making those numbers
YEAH!!!
Street drive it before deciding on changing gears.
You have one of the few dynos tho as it was something too happen it would fly out the door
Bro, how am I violating the guide?
CHARLES!!!
go run on another local dyno to cross check your numbers. congrats on the build
What converter

@@Isaacm328 youre not launching 700ftlbs at 4500 on the street and dead hooking in a fox that isnt tubbed or a trailer'd race car on a big tire.
Need to chuck this on another Dyno for apples to apples,
I think the fox body is a 9 second car if you can get a good launch ...
As I said before. Definitely needs a rear gear change. I’d go 3.73/3.90
How do you not know what gear ratio you have?
Basic stuff. These are important things.
Damn good numbers man👌🏻🤘🏻
On 12 psi, 450whp
On 20, 550whp
Edit: Wow. I was way off!!! Lol
I agree with your numbers...he is reading high.
And another one!
🔥🔥and more 🔥💯
Hell yeah!
Let’s go!
RMRW coming up quick isn’t it?
650-700hp?
Was this on pump gas?
E85
2.73 is the factory Fox rear gear
Is this thing finely going to make Rocky mountain race week?
Awesome
Keep you heims as centered as possible they love to work loose and bind up.
Put a proper transmission set up in it with a trans brake and a rear gear and let it rip
First...
Im bringing it back.
You ain’t.
Go fast
seems like the dyno still reading too high,
3.70 gear is about as high as you want to go unless you want to shift in to 4 gear on a pass
3.73s with a 26 inch tire drives identically to a 4.10 with 28 inch tires. Hes gonna want more tire under the car anyway so may aswell take better advantage of the gearing. Should get out the hole a lot better too.
3.73 gear is what you want
