PSA: When lifting the fuel tank, make sure you add a towel or something soft to pad the fuel tank's front bottom edge, pad it between the fuel tank and the motorcycle's frame. Otherwise you may notice scuffs and paint chips as you lift the fuel tank.
@@ScoutsOut Have a good day.currently, my zx4rr is around 80 hp, I am thinking of installing a turbo and extras to make it at least 120 hp, do you think it is worth it or do you have any advice you can give me?
Thanks man, i haven’t tried them and TST has always been good to me. The tune I went with is just an unrestricted tune so it is technically the same as anyone would do, maybe I will try one of the others when I do full exhaust and intake
It’s the same. The one you buy from TST for $200 you have to send them your ECU. I just finished the install hopefully I can get the video out next weekend.
What was the total turn around time? As was it worth it. Or should just get a zx6r. I really like the 4rr and also i dont need to go 170mph. But i want to be able to take off like a bat out of hell lol
2 things. The hex was probably a 5.5 mm hard to find but out there. Also you better be at laguna seca. Be safe. I am curious on what your thoughts will be with the before and after.
Haha I didn’t even think about a .5 so not common. I had to work this weekend but I got out there on Friday to watch some practice and I rode a few demo bikes. Can’t wait to get the ecu back
if you stick a piece of strong paper towel down before putting on the 5mm hex, it will make up for that difference and reduce the risk of stripping. ya welcome.
Damn, you could put some PB blaster on the bolts for the night, and make sure you are using good tools the correct size they are metric. Hope it works out man
Im about to get the graves slip on and I was just wondering if I need to flash the bike right after I get the slip on? Wasn’t sure if it’s bad for the engine to run a slip on without a flash or a tune. Thanks!
but, empty it as much as you can. i did this with my buddy and i had to hold the fuel tank until he indid everything. this was just for the air filter replacement. hahahaha empty it to last marker on gauge and you will be fine.
Great work as usual Scout... Interested to see how you like it with the unrestricted ECU... FortNine did a review on this bike this (or last) week... And he mentioned a few things you could do to amp the power (easily done because Kawa chokes the power for emmissions regulations purposes)... :D
It is due to noise regulations I guess. The ZX4RR's emissions regulations comply with Europe's Euro 5 and Japan's stringent standards. The fuel consumption is 20km/L (47mpg) which is not bad.
i have ocd with certain things and i can’t help but put the screws/bolts and nuts in order left to right along with all the parts and it makes everything so much easier
Awesome thanks for the video, you made it crystal clear on how to disassemble this... Now time for the flash boiii
Hell yea glad it helped bro
Great video and as always awesome explanation and great footage Scout. Have a nice Sunday and ride on buddy🤙
Thanks ck, cheers bud
Dude this video is awesome love the breakdown very quick and straight forward
Thanks man I appreciate that 🍻

It's a nice video, it helped me and your explanation is very good bro 👍🏽

Damn that would be sick. If anything it would be unique, I doubt there are many 4rr’s out there with a turbo
Sure is a hot one out! 🔥👌🏻😳🤟🏼 Such a helpful video!! I can’t wait to see the increased power! 💥🔥😊
thanks Elizebeth im sure its going to be a nice boost
Thank you for the video. Also heads up TechSpec make tank grips now for the ZX4RR
Nice dude I love the techspec’s I put them on every bike. I might just have to grab a pair
Awesome video and thank you for filming it. Just curious, why TST vs 2 Wheel Dyno or Moore Mafia for the ECU flash?
Thanks man, i haven’t tried them and TST has always been good to me. The tune I went with is just an unrestricted tune so it is technically the same as anyone would do, maybe I will try one of the others when I do full exhaust and intake
Perfect timing, as Im, gonna pull my ECU soon as its getting to damn hot to ride here in FL.
Haha perfect!
Wait is it cheaper to send in the own ecu and get that flashed? Or just buy the ecu flashed from their website and get it delivered? I need help
It’s the same. The one you buy from TST for $200 you have to send them your ECU. I just finished the install hopefully I can get the video out next weekend.

It was just under 2 weeks and a huge improvement

Damn you getting to do more demos. 😆🤣
I will be watching 👀 for those videos.
It is 5mm (I tried a 5.5mm, and its too big). You just need a good quality and not rounded off 5mm.

I have a 23 krt and the tank bolts were t27s oddly enough guess they changed them out for 24?
Weird, possible it guess
Nice !!! , I like that ktm u have in garage as well, will b looking forward to some videos on that cool bike as well. 😁
Yea man the Lti is awesome, I have a few parts coming for it
Good vid, bro. Thanks. I think im gonna hold off on mine for a while. Looking forward to ur reinstall and review.
Thanks man, yea I’m excited to get it back
@scoutsout have u gotten ur ECU back? Super stoked to hear what you think...
Had you already placed the order with TST? If so, how long for them to ship you a box to send it in?
Yes I placed the order first and it was $16 for shipping. I used UPS 4-6 day delivery
So my tank bolts are torqued down to hell, Any possible fix to this? I literally cant get them loose
Damn, you could put some PB blaster on the bolts for the night, and make sure you are using good tools the correct size they are metric. Hope it works out man

You will be ok to run without a tune.
So do you have to empty the tank first?
No, just put a little cap on it or tape it, it will only leak out a little
Did you empty your tank before pulling the fuel line? I didn’t see fuel running out before you put that red cap on?
No I left the fuel in, it leaked a few drops but not much
but, empty it as much as you can. i did this with my buddy and i had to hold the fuel tank until he indid everything. this was just for the air filter replacement. hahahaha empty it to last marker on gauge and you will be fine.

Which is weird, I think the euro bike isn’t restricted
@@ScoutsOut because NA has higher noise restrictions (currently)
Thank you this video is super helpful
Nice, glad it helps bro!
Are you gonna do a video of putting everything back together once the ECU comes back?
Yes definitely
How about a video of how to Clear the codes as well
Thanks
I’ll see what I can do, good idea
Did you have to drain the tank?
No
@@ScoutsOut Oh so the gas won't leak out? Just making sure before I pull it.
@@LOL2YOU a little will just use a rubber cap or something, it didn't leak much for me at all
always easy to remove everything, remembering which screws go where is the hardest part of putting everything back
So true
tape the screw right on the fairing where it belongs, and you will never have to remember or risk losing them. works all the time.
i have ocd with certain things and i can’t help but put the screws/bolts and nuts in order left to right along with all the parts and it makes everything so much easier
Nice dude, thats a good idea
Yea i tend to do that aswell
Off topic. Have you rode the RS660?
No but I do have the tuono 660, so fun to ride but maintenance is just annoying. She’s pretty and fun to ride but very needy lol
@@ScoutsOut I was just watching vids about that. Yah I don’t need a needy bike in my life… I want to be the needy one 🤣
