I think the choice of red and black for the Tudor BB58 GMT (Coke/Dr Pepper) was a genius and somewhat cheeky move, especially given that watch enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating a modern Coke GMT from Rolex for years. By launching it first and pairing it with a master chronometer certification at a remarkably reasonable price point, Tudor not only preempted Rolex but also delivered exactly what many had been hoping for from the brand. It’s a brilliant blend of strategic timing and smart design, making this release not just a hit but a statement piece in the watch community. I know some people aren’t fans of the gilt accents, but personally, I think they’re a great touch and have become something of a signature for Tudor. The execution is top-notch, adding a touch of warmth and vintage flair that complements the watch perfectly. This model is almost certain to become a classic and a best seller, solidifying its place in Tudor’s already impressive lineup. I immediately got on the list for one and just received it today. Couldn’t be happier, it’s even better in person. They really have become what Rolex once was, a respected tool watch brand at a reasonable price point.
I walked by a Tudor Boutique and saw the BB58 GMT in the window….. I knew it was a new release as never seen it before, thinking this was going to be one of those Rolex moments, walk in ask about it and see if they have one and be disappointed moment (yes I know the requirements for obtaining a Rolex and join the 1m in the queue story 😂)….considering I was already pondering on getting a Tissot PRX 80 5 mins before, I thought I would go in and ask! I was really surprised when they offered me there only one in store immediately….. I thought…..no way this cant be right…but low and behold i ditched the PRX 80 option and I bought the BB58 GMT!!!! I loved the fact that it was 39mm and sits great on my 6.5inch wrist, not overstated and with everything I wanted in a sports watch especially for the price! I don’t think I could have afforded one of these if it were a Rolex to be COSC and METAS certified with a GMT and date complication……Just WOW!!!! The colour hit the spot, a dress and daily all in one. The black and burgundy colour with the gilt is beautiful and not too over stated in my eyes and when the sunlight hits at different angles it really is stunning. This is definitely one of the best impromptu buy watches I’ve done, and as others have said this is definitely an “Iron-Man”!
I have this watch. In person the gilt on the hands and bezel has an almost red gold tone. Gives it a lovely warmth which fits with the retro vibe. I personally like the colourway - it stands out in a sea of pepsi watches and dresses it up slightly. Stunning purchase. Thanks for the review Teddy!
My watch was purchased 2 years ago from MAMACOO and, to this day, it still looks and runs as well as it did the day it arrived. That movement has never missed a beat despite never having been serviced. I can't complain about that.
Picked up a AMZWATCH's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
I was very excited to get this one, tried it at an AD my wrist is on the large side. The regular BB58 fits nicely but this one sit akwardly on top of the wrist due to the curve and thickness. And looked quite small. Ended up not buying it. I defintely recommend to try it in person.
I purchased the watch a week and a half ago on the rubber strap and have been loving it - especially the comfort, case size and thickness on my 6.5” wrist. I was not sure about the gilt highlights in online images but really liked the look in person. Fyi, Ivisited the new Tudor Boutique in Barcelona on vacation, which David Beckham reportedly visited for its grand opening a few weeks prior and signed his advertisement poster on the boutique wall. I was able to buy their only one in inventory (right from the display case), which had been delivered earlier that afternoon. I’m not sure about what the boutique had in mind (whether they had a waiting list or anticipated offering the piece to favorite local customers), but after my brother and I looked through the cases, noting which models were my favorites, and I expressed excitement to see the BB58 GMT in person for the first time time and to try on, the salesperson remarked about my passion for the brand - exhibited by the Ranger on my wrist, which was my only Tudor and by luck the only watch I had brought on vacation, not even knowing that a Tudor boutique existed there - and said that if I really would like to buy it, she could ask her manager if I could buy it right there and then.
I have this watch and the regular BB58. It looks similar, but it’s quite different if you look closely. The hands, hour markers and crown are smaller. The metal has a lighter color than the BB58 gilt version and the bezel has a gloss finish instead of matte, which makes it more elegant. T-fit clasp is a nice upgrade too! I can really recommend trying this one at an AD.
I bought a watch from amzwatch lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.
Don't buy new, so many of these end up on the used market it's crazy. Tudor GMTs are the BMW Mini of the watch world. People want them but move them on quick.
I’m in the same boat. Love a good micro brand and the value they offer, but I’m pretty blown away by this Tudor. Hopefully we can get a good price next year
@@jabezhane I agree with this. They are great watches but Rangers and BB58s now are being sold $1000 off retail. I will be in the market for this GMT next year and I hope the prices are decent by then.
I have had the watch for 2 months now and very much enjoy it. With the rubber strap, it can be worn casual or dress. Very comparable to my GMT Master Pepsi and Sprite at half the cost. My favorite Tudor by far and own several to compare.
Just picked up a Tudor Black Bay Pro from my local AD, but they had a Tudor BB58 GMT in the store and allowed me to look at it and handle it. Wow, what a stunner from Tudor. Not enough there to dissuade me from my purchase of the BB Pro, but a really well executed watch with great color way in the BB58 GMT.
Teddy, really great analysis as usual. I do not own a GMT, but if I were to purchase one, it would more than likely be this watch. It seems to check all the boxes and doesn’t seem to completely and utterly go out of it’s s way to be the little brother of Rolex, it’s just, what it is, a beautiful Tudor.
I have a 7.5 wrist. Very very heavily looking at the Tudors. Being told that only the Pelagos will work for me. After seeing this I may have to try one on because I really want a GMT.
How does it compare to the BB54? I was originally planning on getting the 54 (partly due to having a smaller wrist), but the 58 GMT looks so good though..
I checked with my AD who has this in stock. I also looked on the secondary market, which has a lot of these for sale at or above retail price. What is the explanation for the premium after market when it seems relatively easy to buy this brand new direct from an AD?
In Singapore, Tudor is increasingly popular among young working adults as they remain ''affordable'' and of cos the brand's marketing prowess is certainly doing a good job too. It reminds me of Tag where they went all out to woo the young working class market in the past when social media was close to zero.
I have a 19 cm wrist, so I wonder if this case size is going to look too small on my wrist. I guess there's no way of knowing until I try it on, although that's not as easy where I'm from because we don't have many Tudor boutiques. Plus, I have only worn one good quality watch, so I am not even sure I'll be able to confidently tell if it's going to be too small for me even if I try it on...Any good signs to look out for that could help me in this regard?
Thanks for review. Have had this watch for about 5 weeks now, and really find it comfortable on the wrist, the colour on the bezel absolutely pops, and it's certainly getting the majority of wrist time. Also have ; BB Pro , the Tudor Day/Date 36mm, and the Tudor Royale 38mm Steel & Gold.
Dear Teddy, Does the indicated thickness of 12.8 mm. exclude the sapphire? If caseback, body, and sapphire are entirely included, it’ll be more wearable and comfortable on the wrist :-) Thanks!
Love this watch! Great review by Teddy, as always. Teddy, is there any reason you aren't an authorized dealer of Tudor? I am between Dayton and Cincinnati, OH, and I would definitely make the drive to Cleveland to visit your boutique and purchase this watch.
Teddy, thank you for another great review. I have 2 Tudor 41 mm BB watches, the original GMT in Stainless and the original Chrono in Stainless. I have a rather large wrist such that the 41 mm (and even watches up to 43 mm) watches wear comfortably on my wrist if the Stainless Bracelet is expanded as far as it can go . So, and at least for me, 39 mm watches that wore well in my youth get lost on wrist today and actually it no longer looks appropriate. I am happy for those that can wear the 39 mm size, but hope that Tudor remembers that 41 mm is the watch width that revived it from obscurity and hope, like its sister company, that a 42 mm or even a 43 mm width watch would likely be a hit.
I love the colour choice for the bezel. I'm not a fan of GMT's in general, mainly from an aesthetic point of view but I have to say this is a great looking piece. It's better looking than big brother's GMT's in my opinion. I have a BB58 black bezel which is my daily but I'd happily replace it with this watch. The fake rivets has never bothered me personally but I understand the hate. It's like when car manufacturers make you think you have big exhaust pipe exits, only to discover a normal small exhaust pipe underneath and the exit is fake.
Thanks for the review Teddy! I plan buying one once they become more readily available. This thing just checks so many boxes for the price and I personally love the black and burgundy with the gilt accents. Only disappointing thing is no 5 link bracelet option but that's not a deal breaker.
Yesterday i walked in to my local AD. They told me they got 2 BB58 GMT in the night before and sold one same day. They brought out the 2nd one they had in stock and i ended up buying it. I had no problem trying to buy it. In fact he convinced me to buy this over the pelagos 39. Mind you this was my first purchase at this AD. Did i get lucky that they sold me this right away?
If this came in 41mm and the 5-link bracelet, it would be a perfect watch. As it stands, I cannot decide between this watch and the BB41 Burgundy METAS w/ the 5-link. I like the dial just a little better on this watch and that it’s a GMT. Love the gilt on both. But sizing + bracelet has me considering the BB41. Really torn on this one, it would be my first Tudor either way.
I'm still not happy they changed the seconds hand pip from a square to a circle, on the plus side the 12 o'clock triangle is better proportionate now - I'm on the fence whether or not to sell my heritage BB41 to pick this up
so many people who think they are authorities on watches but you I've actually appreciated and respected your assessments and evaluations. I do think you talk entirely too fast though, slow it down a tad. anyway I enjoy my Black Bay GMT. I would not trade it for anything. it's substantial and simply elegant without the hype. the money saved over the Rolex I bought Bit coin.
I’ve been eyeing this one for weeks, purchased a Breitling SuperOcean Heritage 2 days ago and then stumbled onto this one in stock at another AD. I wanted to buy it on the spot, but had to have a little discipline. The more I see it and know where one is the more I keep telling myself just go get it.😅
In Geneva for the week and walk into a boutique and it’s available! So it’s on my wrist for the last three days. Wears more or less like the OG BB58 which I also have. I guess it’s time to sell most of my other watches because these two are more than enough for me for most occasions :)
I really like this watch but something didn’t quite look right and I couldn’t figure out what it was, until I saw it next to a Rolex. For me, it’s the thickness of the numbers on the bezel. I think they would look so much better in a bolder font. Lovely watch all the same though.
Apples and oranges, if you want a thin classy simple dress watch get the santos, if you want a sport watch with gmt function get the Tudor. It’s like saying I am debating to get a car or a boat….
Color choice is great. Beautiful watch. Other than that, I fail to understand choice of words describing "pushing boundaries" etc. When commenting companies' product management decisions.
I really like that watch , but like my original BB GMT just a bit better . I've got pretty large wrists , 7.75" , and it just seems to wear and look better on my particular wrist . I did , however , purchased the new BB Monochrome and really haven't worn any of my subs since . On the Jubilee braclet, this watch is the bomb !!!
Another channel labeled it the 49er ; my favorite NFL team. I'm good with that too! Teddy, why don't you sell Tudor? I'm a noob so probably a clear and good reason I don't get but I felt I should ask
I was not asking for this and neither were any of my watch enthusiast buddies. I think it was a waste to release that this year when they already have a 39mm and 41mm GMT. I think they should have focused on improving the BB58 to be METAS and adding the T-fit to the existing black and blue BB58s, and BB54.
Was offered this watch shortly after it's release and I ended up turning it down, I simply couldn't get over the excessive use of gilt on every part of the dial and bezel. Would have been so much better without any gilt accents!

I wish they made the BB monochrome in the 39mm dimensions, or a BB58 with the monochrome colorway. I'd snag that immediately.
Dr pepper seems more fitting for this one
Dr Pepper has no gold accenting. This is clearly a caffeine free coke.

24
Just hope as a bigger 'wristlet' they put this engine in 41mm and slim that height down (although not a deal breaker)!
Stuck between this one and the Tudor black bay ceramic! Both are unreal looking watches
Get the gmt, I did and I love it. You won't regret it
Niece piece, but I think the date window needs a little gold edging.
THE TUDOR IS A AWESOME WATCH BUT I WOULD RATHER GO FOR THE GRAND SEIKO GREAT VIDEO THANKS
I have decided to buy a new tudor black bay, but picking out the style is proving to be a bit overwhelming.
The gmt is gorgeous tho.
Can’t wait tho
Another channel labeled it the 49er ; my favorite NFL team. I'm good with that too! Teddy, why don't you sell Tudor? I'm a noob so probably a clear and good reason I don't get but I felt I should ask
you’re literally my comfort person i love you #amzwatch ! I'm saving up for my next watch.
Have it and love it. Incredible watch
Honest question. Why is it thicker than the original? Newer innovations should enable it to be the same or thinner, no?
It always amazes me how much beauty and precision are added to the parts of amzwatch's watch 99% of people will never see.
Beautiful. My next watch ❤
Great update. Selling the last version in eBay. I loved it but time for an upgrade
Need to be able to get it on that new 5 link bracelet as well and it would be perfect!
I love tudor, i have one and to be hones the price of a Tudor for what they bring is amazing
But how expensive will it be to service?
Love Tudor aesthetics. Black Bay and Pelagos have my attention without a doubt. Maybe even their chrono with the pink dial for a little pop.
Personally I think the colour combo is brilliant
Gorgeous watch, I’m in love
I want this watch to sit along side my Speedmaster 3861. It will make the best two watch collection in my opinion
looks amazing.
