I disagree… they knew they were building on the roads and or where they shouldn’t. They all took a chance with there businesses being there. The government wasn’t always in a position to make these changes without investments and a proper government that actually cares. Yes, this might look bad but in actuality, this is great progress for Gambia. Look at Rwanda 25 years ago and you will what President Barrow is doing was needed decades ago. Because what the officer said was cleared " we want to see you start moving the flowers"... Pick it with your hand and start moving them, probably later the officers workers might join to help her, or one of the neighbor or even the brother who was defending her might come and help her. Before removing the people from they're only income place the should have opened a big buy and sell market in the gambia. Where you can buy all you need. But how can you just tell people to get out of there. And you don’t even care how or when
This is unjustice. Because had the government build a big marketplace for sellers und they still are selling by the road. Then is the point they the sellers are breaking the law. But they have no where to go to. Most of them don't have they're own compound. And what does it benefit me as seller to move from where they've asked me to move, just to move to another corner where they will be in 1 week and sending me away again.
