Thanks so much for uploading this. As a life long Baltimore (not Indianapolis) Colt fan, I consider this a treasure. While I love the drama of the music and narration of the Facenda version, this one faithfully follows the actual sequence of plays that unfolded in the game, as well as showing the actual field goal O'Brien kicked and the Logan interception on the final play of the game.
People don’t talk much about this Super Bowl because of Super Bowl III. This game is way better. Remember, the Jets were leading the Colts 16-0 with only 3 minutes to play. This game was tied with 9 seconds left.
romelovesdan I never saw this alternate video on this game , the other one with facenda when u see it now don’t even show first couple minutes of the guys trying to get tickets , sucks that the nfl network don’t have a clue to show any of this on a throwback Thursday , yet they show the same garbage every single day
The difference between this and the Facenda version is this version basically show the highlights of the game while the Facenda version basically told the story of the game.
I was a Colts fan, but even I think Morton got a raw deal on that intentional grounding. He got it to an eligible receiver on one hop while falling backwards. I've seen much worse than that with no call.
The worst lost in the Cowboys history. If Staubach started, Dallas would have won. But one of the more exciting Super Bowls. People trashed the game because of all the fumbles and mistakes, but Cowboys & Colts was more entertaining than most Super Bowls…
The game-winning kick can be seen at 41:45 of "America's Game" for the 1970 Colts: th-cam.com/video/HstudmVhjow/w-d-xo.html Why wasn't this clip used prior to that? This GOTW only shows O'Brien kicking, and the official SB V film showed an extra point instead. Was the clip "lost" for 40 years? That's hard to believe. TV footage here: th-cam.com/video/nbHwjSF892k/w-d-xo.html
MVP of what?? I’ve never seen such incompetent play!! He threw 3 (three) interceptions and had a QB rating of 34.1! A high school player could outperform his shabby play. His last interception gave the Colts the winning FG. MVP for the Colts? Maybe??
Unfortunately for him, he was in not in much physical condition to play either game. In SB, he had a damaged arm and in SB XII, he had a hip injury that was so bad that he had to spend time in the hospital for it.
One of the ugliest and most incompetent football games ever played at any level!! There were fumbles galore, interceptions beyond belief, countless stupid plays, and wide open receivers that were overthrown by distances hard to comprehend; what a travesty!! And this was SUPER BOWL FIVE. The Colts managed to win 16-13 but it was just a relief to have this horrid game end!!

Love these 'Alternate" Super Bowl highlights....they should have been included in the SB box sets!!!!

@@anthonyemerick8521 That's so they have time for all the stupid ass commercials.

@@mikevanriel7573 Excellent observation. Thrilled we have alternate highlight films for Super Bowls (IV to X?)
@@anthonyemerick8521 Why is throwback Thurs post 2000's that is NOT 'throwback' or vintage 'classic'
The last GOTW that the GREAT Jack Whitaker would ever narrate

And the M.V.P. for Super Bowl 5: Chuck Howley of the Cowboys.
I think the MVP of this game is Craig Morton. Heisman trophy winner Roger Staubach, not yet the starter, sat on the bench.

@@alcoholfree6381I must have been being sarcastic, or I was drunk when I wrote that. I hate Morton. Staubach was a winner. Morton wasn't.
Morton may have been the worst SB QB ever. Two nightmare games in 1970 and 1977.

SB5: 1 TD-3 ints
SB12: 0 tds-4 ints
Damn: 1 TD-7 ints.
Oof
