The fact that both this game and Florida vs Florida State played at the same time and was a regional telecast was a crying shame. The entire country should have seen both games live in their entirety played in back to back time slots.
It looks like they attributed this TD ( 0:49 ) to Brian Griese. It was actually Scott Dreisbach, in what was his first game as the starting QB. The opponent was Virginia in the old Pig Skin Classic game, and that TD reception was the final play of the game. Mercury Hayes caught that pass as time ran out and Michigan completed what was, at that time, the biggest comeback in Michigan history (it has since been dethroned). With only 11 minutes, or so, left in the 4th quarter, VA was winning 17-0. That game winning TD gave M an 18-17 victory. I had the privilege of being at that game with some friends. It was the greatest Michigan game I had ever been to until 2005 against Penn State. My dad and I had some great seats at the 50 yard line (my cousin gave us those tickets as a gift...that was a great gift).
That late-August Virginia game was also one of the hottest weather days in Michigan Football history. I've only missed a dozen Michigan home games since first getting season tickets in 1977 and can count on one hand the # of games when the weather was so miserably 🔥🔥🔥HOT!
I NEVER get tired of watching these old school “smash mouth” B1G games. I also thought it was pretty cool listening to the entire broadcast without the any cuts. Hearing the old commercials, commentary and and band was taking me back a bit. GO BLUE
My junior year at UM. What a fantastic time. Wish coach Moeller would have stayed on. We would have had numerous NCs before he retired. Lloyd Carr lucked out w Gary's recruits, then showed he was meh.
This freshman (#2) is going to be a great player! Biggest understatement ever!!!!

The fact that they had a live crew in Evanston is sick. Bring this back

Back when they played on real grass in 20 degree weather.
One of my favorite things about watching these old recorded games is seeing the old commercials, like jumping into a time machine
Good seeing Bo sitting in Press Box still fired up and coaching.

Should have stay away from the alcohol
@@JosephMyers-y3h I disagree. Big Ten should have adopted the SEC standards of coaching personal responsibility.
The Game , the greatest rivalry in college football until this day. Ijs
Tshimanga Biakabutuka ran for 313 yards for Michigan in this game.
3:30:08 Big game management mistake for OSU and Hoying to spike the ball here. There was enough time to run a play as opposed to sacrificing the down.
Offering the rose bowl bid to northwestern on live TV is so cool
In the compuSA commercial at the 4 minute mark, that definitely has to be Stu from Rugrats.
I see Tom Brady on the sidelines❤
Tim Biakabatuka tears Ohio states ass up MR 313 yards
Woodson hurt OSU for 3 years
Mark Jones has not aged one bit
I love history
LFG - always beat those suckeyes. Makes me so happy.
Yes 35:35
