He was good, but he was also an drunk. His last couple years were horrible. He had his demons.

I was at the Washington-Miami Superbowl on the 20-yard line. I remember President Regan calling to congratulate the team. Over 105,000 of us in Pasadena doing card tricks in the stands. Yes, boys and girls I paid all of $40 for my seat. These were the days when the average fan could afford to attend. John was a superhero that day. 😊

That 1981 season and in the playoffs, Riggins carried Washington to AND through the Super Bowl. With the Hogs in front of him, it was inevitable that Washington would be World Champions!
