You know there's a third option with Crowley. If you open all the doors with the keys but don't take the armor, go back to him and give the keys then quickly fast travel back to the fort you get both the armor and complete the quest. But be warned Mr Crowley will go to Fort Constantine figure out you tricked him and immediately hunt for your ass all over the wasteland. This can lead to some funny encounters such as attacking you in your house while you sleep to ambushing in a location while you least expecting it. He'll even follow you to dlc locations to, seriously I had this fucker follow me to the Pitt and even mothership zeta I' still don't know how he managed to get on , but it was hilarious to get into a three way fight with him and the zetans on the ship.

I like tenpenny hrs a classy and cool cat 😺, I get a penthouse suite and a stash of caps for nuking a shity little town full of druggies and drunks , the explosive was a glorious sight to behold and was worth it , and living in luxury with my own butler and a comfy bed and a balcony with a beautiful sight of the horizon , I can eat brahmin steaks, chow down fancy lad cakes, Drink nuka cola's, and some bourbon and smoke a cigar at my pleasure any time i want ahhh life is so sweet lol

Imagine this, you finally got your hands on Fallout: Beijing and is exited to finally play it. You are greeted by a cutscene that tells you that you were shot and left to die by a man in a checkered suit after a delivery goes wrong. As soon as you finish the character customization you head out towards the wasteland. About 5 seconds later, you die from an explosion larger than the one that wiped out megaton. And the following slideshow happens

Also, i blame overly preserved wasteland food for the preservation of tera's body. If you eat enough of that salsbury steak or snack cakes, thats bound to do something to your physiology.

There's an urban myth about the preseveratives in our food slowing decomposition, that's what it is though, a myth, the human body processes those chemicals and disposes of them in the same way it does once its used the nutrients in our food, there's no sign and no comment on the temperature down in the bunker it doesn't look like it's freezing though that's the only way a body can be preserved. It could be that Bethesda took one look at body decomposition science and wimped out on the decomposition process, much like it won't show skeletons of children and babies, gore is fine, you won't encounter gore unless your really unucky nor dismembered corpses, blow people's limbs off etc, but making the actuality of what happens to a dead body is just too close to real life, too close to emotions that can be felt by players, just as dead children is, it could be that Bethesda stepped back from it, the creators line in the sand.

I think it might be a side result of the fact that the room may very well be airtight. Considering the fact that it is locked behind special doors, it might make it airtight, thus allowing for better preservation of the body.
Also, it might just be very cold inside the fort considering the location and I doubt the Pre-war army wanted to splurge on heating.

My discovery of those nukes was a lot more unnerving for me, considering you never figure out what Mr. Tennpenny wanted from the fort. I was thinking at some point, he might have wanted to get those nukes and use them on other settlements, like he wanted to do with megaton. He does mention how megaton was only the beginning.
True, but it's a fair plan. Take his key, then help the ghouls invade the tower. That way, even more innocents get hurt. Especially if you nuked the town already

If you don't use the keys for yourself, or just don't feel like going through Fort Constantine, you can just give the keys to Crowley wait a few days. Then return and he will be wearing the T-51 power armor saving you the effort of going through the fort.

The reports of Mister Crowley going to underworld after he gets treasure is true. I've done it on all of my playthroughs I've waited for him to do all the dirty work and he shows up a few days later wearing the power armor and bragging about it. Then I Kill him and no one turns hostile

Probably Oxhorn had bad luck and Mr Crowley wind up dead before reaching Fort Constatine, causing that he won't spawn at Underworld later. It could happens with Amata too after you blow Megathon. So It's a bit coinflip that NPC can make it to other placer that aren't their original spawns.
When I talked to Ted strayer for the key, he gave me everything he had on him. It was either intimidating him or strength I think

actually the 00000000 code makes sense, easy to remember, so if you got nukes flying at your country, its easy to at least launch some nukes back before getting blown to hell.

Nutshell version of what I wrote in a different comment: "easy to remember" was precisely why they chose all-zeros. And it wasn't the launch code, just the mechanical PAL interlock code. A physical failsafe, basically. Trying to launch, steal or fiddle with the missile without that code would physically break it. This is a great idea if you're worried about a platoon of Spetsnaz assaulting one of your silos by force, but by the Minuteman program they realized there was pretty much zero chance of that happening in the middle of Missouri, so the PAL locks were seen as unnecessary and a potential area of failure during a time-sensitive crisis. So they told all the Minuteman missile crews to "Set 'em all to all-zeros and ignore them." It didn't affect the regular launch codes, which changed every day, nor did it affect air-dropped bombs, which continued to use PAL codes because they were much more likely to get stolen by some rogue agent.

As i understand it, this wasn't the code the president would give to authorize nukes, this was more the saftey on the gun, the techs would have to set it to exactly this or no nukes were being sent, still a little terrifying and hopefully there were other safties, but its not THAT stupid

Meowstic Lord they made the code 000000 because the dept of defense said typing in the code would cost us precious seconds if a nuclear war were to break out.
Maybe it also a bit of a hide in plane sight sort of thing, since the Chinese would never aspect the password to nukes to be so simple so they would never try it.
Not to mention it would take two keys to actually be able to input the code in the first place.
If I recall correctly, the Russian decoding computers were programmed in such a way that 0 would always be the last number they "guess", as they counted down from 9 or up from 1, meaning this code would theoretically take the longest to decode.
Well... no remote access to the launch computers in the silos.. and behind bunkers with armed air force guards and locked doors..
In my playthrough of FO3 I just gave Crowley the keys. A few in game days later I was ambushed by super mutants only to be aided by a power armored Crowley out of no where. Seeing what he had found in Fort Constantine I relieved him from that heavy burden of steel and iron.

When I did this quest, I had stumbled onto Dukov's little "pleasure den" beforehand. I didn't particularly like the guy, or his little setup, so I killed him & looted the key off his corpse, not knowing what it was for at the time. Later on, upon meeting Crowley, I found out that the key was important. Then, in much the same way as you, I sweet-talked the others into giving me their keys as well-all except for Dave who I deposed as President, and got the key after Rosie was elected. After doing that, I went back to Crowley, gave him the keys, and just like you did, when he took off, I followed him. When I was comfortable with the distance He & I had put between us & Underworld, I painted the Wasteland with his brains, and took the keys. That'll teach him about lying to me, and trying to get Me to do His wetwork under false pretenses.

Actually, six zeroes was a damn strong code, and for good reason. First- a "brute force" method, as used by machines, would likely overlook the numerical value because it tends to start at "1" and count up. Machines are dumb like that. And a human wouldn't think to use it because *even if they were told the code* they wouldn't take it seriously. They'd assume it was a trap code that'd alert the government to the attempt.
Don't be ashamed of the code. Be ashamed that you weren't clever enough to grasp the brilliance.
Or be ashamed of all the other messed up shit the U.S. has done.
and only zeroes shortens the reponse time, so you can launch the nukes without having to enter a complex code, he said so I the video
BlueDiamond not at the start of the Cold War, considering software and hardware limitations at the time.
The all-zeros was real but it wasn't the launch codes, just the PAL interlock that broke the missile if you tried to fire it with the wrong code in there. It makes sense for some kinds of nukes (bombs, mostly, since you can steal them easily) but by the time of the Minuteman program they were more worried that somebody would fuck up the code and they'd end up with a dud missile during WW3. Thus, they basically negated the PAL by simply telling everybody to set it to all-zeros and forget about it. By that point it was already 100% impossible for one missile crew to launch on their own, you had to get all the other crews in your area to electronically "agree" and then all the missiles fired at once. Otherwise, none fired at all.
There is an alert about launching nukes or your place is about to nuked. Thus, people will panic and might even get all the codes wrong. If that happens, what if a nuke was being sent their way where it is also a nuke storage... (assuming the nuke storage facility was not built to withstand nukes)
And yeah, the real reason is to get the codes fast to launch. Jumbled numbers can just mean the life and death scenario between launching them or die from radiation poisoning (assuming the radiation somehow got its way into the place)

If you think about it, having all those zeros for the launch code is one of the greatest bluffs. No one in their right mind would bet the whole farm on something that simple, and here we did it with the fate of the entire world. Therefore, it is the greatest password in this scenario.

The reason the BOS was so interested in the nukes in FO4 was because they were the ones that were compatible with Liberty Prime I believe. The ones that he threw like footballs.

I just realized something since danse is a synth and he remembers being recruited by maxson and in result joining the brotherhood at his young age and if maxson remembers all of that too... then doesn't that mean at one point during the real paladin danse's life he was replaced by a synth now known as the paladin danse in fallout 4? If not then where would the institute get those childhood memories from? I mean maxson clearly had a strong relationship with danse because he remembers danse when he first joined. So at what point during the fallout series was danse replaced? It couldn't have been before he joined because he joined at a younger age and synths don't age. If it was before he joined he would look younger. Which means it could've been during anytime during the fallout series but only after he joined the brotherhood. Oxhorn if you decide to investigate this I would suggest using the kill command on danse when we first see him that way if we see he has a synth component we'll know that he was most likely replaced before fallout 4 or somte earlier in the game when we don't see him. But if he doesn't have a synth component then that means he was most likely replaced when he came to the commonwealth, and if that's true then that means the institute most likely found a way to infiltrate the brotherhood of steel. I think this is very interesting and would be fun to make a video about.

This detailed of storytelling in a side quest forces you to use a lot of the skills in f3 that you can imagine an experienced lone wanderer probably actually could be like is cool. That trophy for the power armor was great too, I appreciated that. Feels like this defines Bethesda fallout writing, it needs to be hardcore like this everywhere
I noticed in Fallout 4 when I went into the Covenant cave(idk what it's name is) I'm sure you know how to get to it. Anyways, when I started descending into the cave there was a room the the right with a guard in it, when I killing him I noticed some posters that said Congrats you made the vault 101 soccer team and some G.O.A.T. Questions.
Yeah It's a refrence from F3's G.O.A.T test called the saftey test in F4 given by Swanson so you can enter Covenatnt

That Dukov mouth glitch though.
I reloaded saves a dozen times to try to get rid of this glitch. But for some reason, Dukov always went back to it. Kinda fits him, really.

I recall that, back in the days of the 360 release of the game, there was a glitch that made me look up the quest where, when I offloaded some gear into the Megaton House fridge and then went to loot something again, I got a free burst of XP and the notifications that I started this quest and immediately finished it.
You stored your tea 51 be winterized armor, and and or picked it back up, which the game believes is the quest reward, and it gets the quest completed. Redo your save
@@Limbopiod As stated this was back in the days where DLC discs were still being released for the 360, so the saves are long gone. Neat to finally get an explanation though.

Some good insights and angles I never gleaned in more than a handful of playthroughs. Its been a while since my last visit to the Capital Wasteland but I'm there again in my first playthrough of TTW. I'm going to use some of this when I get to the Underworld. Thanks for this and covering many different possibilities to more than just one quest.

The thing about mister Crowley coming back in power armor is true it just takes a while for him to spawn back that's how I do the quest have him get it then kill him and take it off his corpse
