the og showcase with no boost was a HORRIBLE way to show this good of a stage and just made people who wouldve loved the stage either now hate it or say its mid which is sad . first impressions matter

Fr. What's even worse is they cut off the best parts of the stage. I went and looked at the leaked footage and right where they kept cutting off is where the massive open areas were with like 50 million paths.
Probably the biggest reason why this game won’t be like Forces is the length of the levels. The first level with Space Colony Ark to Radical Highway/Westopolis takes up 5 minutes of gameplay.
I noticed that too. That tells us length wise it's at least a step in the right direction. Level Design may still need to be talked about. The branching paths are great but not too sure about the challenge factor. And it looks like the ranking system will be overly generous like it was in the original.
Forces damaged people so bad they cant even tell this isnt Forces.

Apparently the remastered part of gens is one of those things where TH-cam compresses the footage making it look the same, but it looks a lot better and sharper in person. Gamexplain said that there was a noticeable difference from the remaster to the Xbox series X port in their hand on review video. Also the drop dash is confirmed for modern sonic.

@@carso1500 Frontiers continued the momentum for Sega to give more budget n improved their development team but honestly I still believe Sonic Movie 1 changed their tune. Originally, Sega did want to release Frontiers back at 2021 but then decided to delay it in 2022. U could say it was because of Iizuka who begged Sega to give the team more time to finish Frontiers, but honestly I think they didn’t care for his request mostly cuz they treated Sonic as a double A mascot n originally wasn’t considering Sonic as their mascot. But thxs to the 2020 Sonic Movie being a success, Sega had to change their tune n seen that causals can be interested in Sonic if the writing was done well.

THIS JUST IN, THEY HAVE MARRIED.
This is exactly the type of polish frontiers DESPERATELY needed. Animations look awesome and not stiff, goofy and robotic, the art style is outstanding and not a dull unreal engine asset flip and the lvl design looks actually good!
I'll be honest I feel like because the Shadow generations is such a short project (shorter than base Generations which was on the shorter side) then they actually had the time to go all out for it instead of rushing. The sales on frontiers probably helped with staffing for development etc. Here's hoping for more of this in the future :D

Honestly, the classic stages in this game were super underrated. Hope they make another classic with dynamic camera angles from this one.

the level design looks solid, simplistic but fun with sum depth to it with the chaos abilities so on par with colors, but im more amazed at the animations both gameplay and cinematic, it looks incredible, definitely a step up from frontiers
On the topic of abilities, apparently Modern Sonic also has the Drop Dash, and Shadow’s Chaos Control actually freezes the timer

It looks like the new chao adds new routes for the levels.
Seeing that we have the same team of the original generations, i'm hyped to see their vision of new routes.
I want this game to be excellent. No bugs no glitches no comparison to Sonic Forces in any shape or form and no hate for this game after it's release like with Sonic Colors Ultimate in general.
I can see why someone would compare it to Forces. This Level does seems kind of Simple and Very Hallway Based with Stuff Sprinkled Throughout. The “Alternate Paths” seem to reconnect to the Main Path in less than 10 Seconds and are usually only SLIGHTLY different, much like Forces. It’s no where near as bad as Forces but it’s not really raising the Standard, aside from the Length thank god we finally get stages longer than 2 minutes. The biggest point of the many segments where all you do is Boost Forward in a Straight line with nothing to do, the Radical Highway and Tubes in the Ark being the most blatant examples. I really hope we get a “Final Horizon Cyberspace” Styled Hard Mode that takes advantage of every inch of Level by increasing the Difficulty and Complexity.
This game is looking like a finished product. FINALLY.
Unlike Frontiers that looked like it was made in 2 weeks with the basic settings of a game engine.

Finally! After 18 years! Sonics wound has fully healed from 06!
Genuinely so hyped for the future of Sonic aswell as this game if this is the level of quality we'll be seeing. I'm honestly getting real hyped for Frontiers 2 just seeing all this, just imagine how great it'll be with this sort of graphics and effort for the cutscenes and animations.
Shadow is already one of my favorite characters. But goddamn, Sega is making me love this motherf*cker all over again lol It's crazy to think that Shadow was originally suppose to stay dead after Adventure 2. But fans were not having that! We needed him to come back. I loved Shadow's game! Despite what everyone says. But I loved it, mainly because how stupid it is lol But Sega is not scared to show they do acknowledge it's existence! That's awesome. I've heard a lot of fans complaining about the remix version of Radical Highway from Sonic Generations. Then when I finally heard it, HOLY SHIT! It was amazing! That bass and beat was FIRE!!! I loved it! It wasn't as good as the original, but the remix wasn't that bad! At less to me.
I thought this shadow extension was be great, but this is just mind blowing! The cutscenes in the gameplay were crazy too! Why weren't you expecting the spectacle of Shadow's story to be like this? You didn't think it would look this good?
Are there any roadmaps for this game? I dont think its gonna be a frontiers roadmap full of shenanigans and DLC but simply cool additions like spin dash for modern Sonic
The only reason I can think for why people think it looks like Forces is the way it looks with the more zoomed out camera, as well as the boost and jumpball. But the actual level design?? It looks super fun!
In regards to the Chaos abilities, they feel like a much more natural version of the Wisps. Rather than getting them at specific parts of a level to give Sonic a new ability, it's just, using Shadow's own abilities when you want. I wouldn't mind if there's only the two abilities shown here, because there's so much you could do with them.
It feels like this might be a test for what budget they can allocate to a Sonic game. The level of polish is ridiculous, so attempting this kind of quality on a smaller title makes sense
The Shadow Generations section looks pretty great, but I have a strong feeling it's only going to be a few hours long at best. It's not the end of the world, quality is what matters here, but I have a feeling I'll finish the Shadow campaign and be left wanting more.

This christmas is about to be hype af for me. Gens is my second favourite Sonic game, Shadow is my favourite Sonic character and being able to play only as Shadow is something i've wanted since i replayed SA2 (my favourite Sonic game) back in 2021. Also can't wait to hear the remixes for the stages (mainly Radical Highway and Kingdom Valley) and idk what drugs people are on the stages look NOTHING like Forces
After the watching the gameplay I was like this is going to be an interesting and amazing game! Shadows gameplay was just so good. This game is going to be PEAK!

With how it looks, the branching paths, and specific levels they chose, it feels like SEGA could be using this as a ground work for a remake for SA 1&2!

I actually did not expect them to change the button mapping for Sonic Generations, that’s odd but understandable, they probably just wanted it to be easier to hop between the two games without having to adjust

I think it looks great, because of the gameplay showcase when some people said that it looked like forces I definitely disagreed. Though I did understand where some were coming from. But thanks to people like Fadel, we see that there are plenty of paths to take. Some are rather short and connect back to the main one, possibly only saving you a couple of seconds without really going into a new location but since this is the first level I personally can over look that since they clearly made sure it had flare and length to it.
What’s important is whether the later levels increase in difficulty and possibly stay around the same length. Also though I’m not expecting every single level to be 5-6 minutes long, some might be around that time while others might be like Sonic’s side of the game, about 3-4 minutes (I know some could be longer than that though). I’m overall looking forward to this.
Do you think we will see Shadow have a superform In this game and fight some big villain while in his super form?
If Shadow gets his spindash "Skulking"(?) or "curled up" animations like Sonic Frontiers

Sonic Generations alone was already considered a very good Sonic game. And with the new content, and Shadow Gen’s too, this just might be one of the best Sonic games ever

If they have a mephiles boss fight in the game then I wouldn't be surprised if mephiles is the villain for the next game. Remember mephiles is the god of time if the time eater brings him back I think mephiles is stronger enough to get out of the time eater's control and pretty much come back to life
I gotta be honest, I’m a little mixed on them changing the controls. I always thought that the original Generations had the best boost controls. I hope they let us choose which controls we wanna play with.

I hope classic sonic will have his coding and model from superstars for his gameplay (I mean sure The Original Generation Classic Sonic are fine but the Superstars one is more accurate to the genesis games and mania and the model used in superstars looks more accurate to the sprite work used in classic games)

I truly pray and hope they buffed Super Sonic's Rings depletion for both Classic and Modern. It drained too fast.

@@vinkennest3274 Game overs legit haven't been an issue since Sonic 3, you'll never see a game over in a Sonic game unless you're like 9 or something. The only game where game overs were an issue was Sonic 06 and that's because this game can kill you whatever it wants to

Also, did you say ARK Act 1? Has multiple acts been confirmed? When I was a kid, a lot of fun came from replaying levels with a new imaginary context in mind, and the whole Doom's Eye sequence feels like it could get in the way of that.
Multiple acts are pretty much confirmed considering the wing scene from the trailer is nowhere to be seen

@@SFproductions1 ermmm actually some channels were actually given permission to fully record some gameplay with a capture card so these levels actually already have public footage, although yes the people shouldn’t have been recording in here, this gameplay isn’t particularly leaked because some creators channels have already shown captured footage of the actual game itself.
Oh yes the VGC gameplay was actually given to them by SEGA is what I heard. I was just talking about the stuff that was recorded with a phone camera
